San Angel Inn has received a lot of criticism over the years. Inside of the Mexico Pavilion at EPCOT, the restaurant is very dark, but has a ton of ambiance due to its location right next to Gran Fiesta Tour. The food has sometimes been hit or miss, but right now it seems to be hitting.Links:Important DIS links for more information!Support us on Patreon and receive exclusive content! Hosted on Acast. The Blue Bayou is a fine dining restaurant inside Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland. The first of its kind in any Disney park. It sets an atmosphere of dining alfresco in the evening while boats pass through the bayou on their way to seek adventure. San Angel Inn is exactly the same thing but with Mexican food and a decidedly worse attraction. Will San Angel Inn win out because if you get the wrong table in Blue Bayou where you are meant to be dining outside you could see right outside to see sunny southern California? Or will Blue Bayou win because it did it first and it's in a better ride? Listen to find out. Image courtesy of www.disnerland.com Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Visit The Website: https://herewiththemagic.com Watch Here: https://www.youtube.com/HereWithTheMagic Connect on social media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/herewiththemagic Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/herewiththemagic/ ---------- In Mexico, the most authentic representation of their rich and vibrant culture is found at the table, where generations often reside together or very close by, gathering daily to share meals and stories, laughter and song. Mealtimes are intentional, virtually sacred space set aside for nourishment and conversation, welcoming both new friends and old to gather and feel at peace. Here, life is celebrated and loss is mourned, triumphs are exalted and failures are met with unwavering solidarity. Here is where the story of their culture prevails and lingers on, an anchor in the stormy sea of time. This is where we get our passport stamped and receive an open invitation to partake in the ancient story of Mexico and her people…Here, at the table. At EPCOT, the Mexico pavilion stands in true-to-form welcome at the precipice of the entire World Showcase. A towering pyramid nestled in a jungle of lush greenery, it is unmissable and entrancing to all who choose this route to begin their journey. Inside, an eternally twilit mercado echoing with the vibrato of mariachi song and a tapestry of vivid color enthralls our senses all at once. An aroma of bright citrus, earthy spice, and the unmistakable sweetness of corn wafts through the displays of intricately painted skulls and handmade serapes, calling us toward the hacienda beyond. Here, a charming, romantic inn set along a mysterious river is a candlelit haven from the more lively atmosphere we left behind. The Rio del Tiempo, or the River of Time, flows with a gentle enigma past the formidable ruins of a Mayan temple, while boats sail serenely along on their Gran Fiesta Tour of this most enchanting place. From our seat a the water's edge, we can smell the fresh river as it glides through the ages, and hear the songbirds twitter along with the mariachi music. The hush of voices affects a most tranquil environment, and the subtle clatter of cutlery is surely a testament to the mouthwatering cuisine. But before we delve into the labor of love that is Mexican cuisine - luscious tamales prepared by hand, a bowl of frijoles that have been stewed and stirred for hours, the shattering crunch of a fresh tortilla chip accompanied by a symphony of flavorful salsas - our desire to savor this moment is overwhelming our growing appetite. Here, time is not only at a standstill, it has become utterly immaterial. The music, like the twilight, perpetuates in the everglow of flickering candlelight. The hospitality is generous and the spirit is alive with story and song. For all we know, we really have been transported to a bygone waterside hacienda in the heart of Mexico City. It is not only in our minds, the Magic of this place and all that it embodies. It is Here, alive and all-encompassing. It is Mexico; in story and sensation, spirit and song, reaching out across space and time to take our hand and lead us to this very table, this very moment, where we can truly be Here With the Magic. Siéntate, relax, and let this moment whisk you away along the River of Time. ¡Viva la Mexico!
In this episode we discuss our favorite restaurants in Epcot, From the San Angel Inn to Teppen Edo there are many good options to choose from in Epcot's world showcase. We put two more attractions head to head in our elimination series, and in the spirit of the 4th of July we place the film Independence Day in the parks.
Disney and Universal have out of this world environments with great attention to detail, worthwhile rides, and entertainment that’ll keep you busy for the long weekend. Universal’s City WalkWhen choosing to go to Universal, you are also presented with the remarkable city walk. The Universal City Walk is lined with shops, delectable desserts, hot spots to drink, and noteworthy restaurants for the whole family. Before you get to the parks or when you need a break, you can enjoy Voodoo doughnuts for fun pictures, Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville for nonetheless margaritas, or try out shrimps at the Bubba Shrimp Co. For a lively environment, there is the infamous Hard Rock cafe and The NBC Studios Grill and Brewhouse, both with great, bar style food. For the most picturesque shakes and a sugar rush, the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium is the perfect spot to hit when ending the night. Choosing Your Parks & Season PassesNow choosing your parks - get the park hopper for Universal Studios and Island of Adventures and allow yourself 2 days if possible. If you are a Florida resident, there are discounts and I’d recommend getting the season pass because after two days, it has paid for itself. The best times to go if you have flexibility are weekdays and avoiding holidays (because that’s when a lot of out of state people are going). If you get antsy waiting around and are able to spend a little more money, the Universal Express pass is worth every cent. It allows you to skip the regular lines on almost every ride once so you can enjoy the thrills without an hour or two standing in line. By doing both parks, you can experience simulation rides like Shrek and the Minions while also soaring through the air on Hulk and Rockin Rollercoaster. Halloween Horror NightsAlso - I highly recommend going to Universal’s Halloween Horror Night. If you like haunted houses, the Halloween spooky vibe, and rollercoasters, it has it all.Where to StayEspecially when you are staying later at the parks, there are options to stay at hotels/resorts right on the Universal property. Two great locations are the Hard Rock Hotel and the Loews Portofino for a little Italy vibe. Those two hotels allow you to take a water taxi/ boat to and from the park, which makes things a thousand times easier than finding parking or trying to Uber later on. If you don’t mind driving or have a larger group, Airbnb in Orlando is a great choice with really convenient spots with pools and entertainment nearby. The Taste of Epcot & FestivalsFor a more magical environment that essentially requires you wear Minnie Mouse ears, Epcot is the place to be. Whereas, Universal is great whenever, there are times when Epcot is even better. Epcot is known for “Drinking Around the World” but it’s also known for its festivals. Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival is typically hosted the end of August to November; this allows you to try so many different samples and wine (like Floridian Blueberry Wine) in a magical place. The Taste of Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is top notch also, hosted during springtime March 3 - July 5th. There are even more festivals worth mentioning so stay up to date by following Epcot Eats on social media. Depending how quickly you adventure through the park and how long you want to stay there - you can see the entire park and drink around the world in a day, possibly two if you want to ride a few rides again or enjoy all the pastries in France back to back. It really comes down to preference, but if you are on a budget or choosing between Epcot and Disney park, you only need to spend one day there. Tips for Drinking Around the World WEAR GYM SHOES. Thank me later.Go through Mexico FIRST and end in the UK. When in Mexico, get a Margarita and corn on the cob. There’s also an amazing Mexican restaurant called San Angel Inn - there is a market you walk through inside to get there. For more on Mexico - check out Theme Park Hipster. Get Dragon Sake in China - delicious!Drink so much water; don’t get dehydrated. There’s a Hibachi restaurant called Teppan Edo in Japan - it’s a little pricer, but excellent. It was a great spot to take a break, get a late lunch, and cool off inside. Grapefruit Beer in GermanyAttend the American Adventure in America - interesting. Bayou rum in America too.Get dessert in France, and a cup of water… Pace yourself.Take some photos / videos in the UK infamous phone booth. There’s a hidden waterfall in Canada. Grab a cider and go find it. Rides worth riding, in my opinion, are Soarin’, Spaceship Earth, Test Trak, and Living with the Land. Enjoy and let us know your favorite Disney and Universal parks. As always, stay safe and use your discretion when using these recommendations. Love, your Travel Brats

The WDW Radio Show - Your Walt Disney World Information Station
Hello and welcome to The WDW Radio Show - Your Walt Disney World Information Station. This is show #141 for the week of October 18, 2009. I am your host Lou Mongello, bringing a little bit of Disney magic to you each week in a fun, family-friendly show. Thank you for tuning in once again. Walt Disney World is filled with some incredible, unique dining experiences, and this week, we visit Mexico's San Angel Inn, where the atmosphere is as wonderful as the cuisine. Modeled after a Mexican hacienda dating back to 1692, the restaurant sits in perpetual twilight on the banks of a river, across from a Mayan pyramid and ruins, and features authentic dishes evocative of traditional Mexican fare. This week, we offer a live review from inside the restaurant as we enjoy some of the Inn's appetizers, main courses, and of course, desserts, as our serve explains every aspect of the meal, and the culture to us along the way. It's a fun segment that I think will not only make you hungry, but will make you want to visit the restaurant and pavilion as well. This week's show is a little shorter than usual due to my schedule and some other projects I'm working that I'm going to share with you soon, but I'm also releasing a number of new videos as well, including an interview with a true Walt Disney World icon. At Disney's Beach Club Resort, Art Lark, known affectionately to guests from around the world simply as “Art the Greeter,” has been a fixture at the resort for years. And on one of his final days at the resort before retirement, I had a chance to talk with Art about his experiences, and what this role, and the Guests, have meant to him. I'll also have more videos from Disney's D23Expo, and a few other surprises as well, so stay tuned I'll announce a new trivia contest, and give some additional information about upcoming events before playing more of your voicemails at the end of the show, so sit back, relax, and enjoy this week's episode of the WDW Radio Show.
