The attacks saw over 1,200 people killed and 251 others taken back to Gaza as hostages. It was the single deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust. Israel responded by launching a military offensive in Gaza which has killed more than 67,000 people, according to the territory's Hamas-run health ministry. Its figures are seen as reliable by the UN and other international bodies. We'll hear from Eli Sharabi, an Israeli hostage held for almost five hundred days in the tunnels of Gaza, and ask how the last two years have re-shaped the region. Also on the programme: how the victims of the Mynanmar military junta are suing a Norwegian telecoms firm; and the newly-crowned Nobel Prize winner, Fred Ramsdell, recalls how his digital detox was interrupted by the news of his win.(Photo: People attend a ceremony in Tel Aviv to mark the two-year anniversary of the Hams-led October 7th attacks on Israel. It's been two years since the October 7th attacks on Israel. On that day in 2023, Hamas fighters killed 1,200 people and took hundreds hostage. In response, Israel unleashed a military campaign that has brought death and devastation to Gaza. Now President Trump, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by his side, has unveiled a 20-point plan he says will bring a lasting peace to the region. On Oct. 3, Hamas said it agrees to release all Israeli hostages, alive or dead, under the terms of Trump's plan and signalled readiness to immediately enter mediated negotiations to discuss the details. Michael Oren, a former Israeli ambassador to the U.S. and a military historian joins The Excerpt with my colleague USA TODAY Washington Bureau Chief Susan Page to discuss the new peace plan. * Note: This conversation was recorded on October 1, 2025.Have feedback on the show? In this episode, Sadie shares something deeply personal. On the second anniversary of her husband's death, she returned to the beach in Norfolk, a place filled with memories and where she always feels connected to him. She spent time with her morning rituals – journaling, pulling cards, and sitting with her grief. The words she pulled that day were gather, wonder, and love. They felt powerful as she gathered her thoughts and memories, wondered where he might be and if he would be proud of her, and sat with the love that will always remain.Grief is heavy, and anniversaries can feel especially hard. But what Sadie is learning, and what she hopes this episode offers listeners, is that love can sit alongside the pain. We can gather our broken pieces, hold space for wonder, and lean into love as we remember those we've lost. For anyone navigating grief, feeling the weight of anniversaries, or needing to know they are not alone, this episode offers compassion, connection, and hope.If you would like to visit my website here is the link www.thegriefcoachuk.comFollow on Instagram here @the_grief_coach_ukOr join the Grief Lounge community here https://www.facebook.com/groups/thegrieflounge/

Editor: Praise God! We will be celebrating our second anniversary here at Haven Oaks Community Bible Church, in Sutherland Springs, on Sunday, Aug. 17. As we continue to grow in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ and the Word of God, we continue to grow as a church, and as a force in our community. The former River Oaks Church was planted on this spot and ran its appointed course for the season and time ordained by God. In the summer of 2023, Haven Oaks CBC was established. It had to have been established by the hand of God, because...Article Link
When people are not mature or properly taught, they can be deceived. Doctrine matters.Doctrine shapes the disciple. People will grow based on what they have been fed, so we must be intentional about what we receive. Christianity is not a free-thinking club; there is a right way to live our lives. We must always be conscious of the fact that we will give an account at the end of this life.Listen to this sermon and be blessed.

There's arguably no superhero in existence that has been reimagined, redefined, or reinterpreted more than Batman. No matter how many times he's been rebooted, audiences are always willing to come back to Gotham City's greatest defender. With so much Bat content out there, there's plenty to dissect, analyze, and of course, rank! This podcast is dedicated to a surgical evaluation of Batman's history, with a focus on ranking several topics in the world of Batman, among other classic Bat themes and characters. Join host Daniel Cohen, Pop Break's former Film Editor and Resident Bat-Maven, as he brings on several guests every month to share his passion for the one and only Dark Knight. From Adam West to Robert Pattinson, no bat stone will be left unturned. Bottom-line: If you're a Batman fan, this is required listening. It seems like only yesterday the Batman by the Numbers crew was arguing over which was better; Batman & Robin or BvS. That was our very first episode, as we ranked all the Batman movies. That was two years ago. And just like the Batman franchise, we're still going strong! Welcome to our big TWO-YEAR ANNIVERSARY episode! And boy, do we have a big one. Even Two-Face would approve. In the spirit of Fantasy Football draft season, Daniel wanted to combine his two favorite hobbies; Batman and Drafting. That's right. We did the DEFINITIVE BATMAN DRAFT! Daniel is joined by his first two co-hosts from the pilot episode, Podcast Director of the Pop Break, Alex Marcus, and Pop Break Editor-in-Chief Bill Bodkin to draft the Definitive Batman team. But what fun is a draft with only three people?? Daniel moved some of the batmobiles, bat planes, and bat boats to make room in the Batcave for five other all-star guests! Making a return to the podcast, we have Perry Constantine (from the Long Halloween episode), DJ Chapman (from the epic Nolan rankings episode and infamous Batman Trailer Rankings episode), and Aaron Sarnecky (The Dark Knight 15th Anniversary episode). Also, making their Batman by the Numbers debuts, and throwing them right into the fire on this big episode, we have Randy Allain and Kris Ingersoll, both of the Media/Lit podcast! So, what is the Definitive Batman Draft? Well, we don't want to give everything away, but the crew will essentially draft 10 categories; Film. Batman Actor. Comic Story. TV Series. Bat Family member. Two villains. Bat Song. Best Scene from a Batman movie. And…a wild card category! What is the wild card category? Well, you'll have to listen to find out. With all these eclectic categories, it's no doubt this is the DEFINITIVE BATMAN DRAFT! And if you're worried it's just going to be a flurry of Dark Knight picks, don't worry – we've created some special rules for some of these categories to make the draft more challenging and interesting! We thank you for listening to this podcast for two years, and we hope you have as much fun listening to this episode as we did recording it! And if for nothing else, it's worth listening to as Daniel gets a pick stolen from him towards the end of the draft and has an emotional breakdown, so there you go.

"We have to trust women." On the two-year anniversary of Roe v. Wade being struck down, Vice President Kamala Harris posted a message on her X, formerly Twitter, page detailing the repercussions of that decision. "Two years ago today. The highest court in our land, the United States Supreme Court, took a constitutional right that had been recognized from the people of America, from the women of America. And thereafter, in state after state, laws have been proposed and passed that will criminalize healthcare providers -- sometimes prison for life for healthcare providers -- that punish women, that make no exception, even for rape or incest, that are threatening the availability of IVF; that are attempting to threaten the availability of contraception." In the message, the vice president urged Congress to restore the protections under Roe v. Wade. If they do, she says, the president will sign it into law. Learn more about your ad choices. This weekend is the second anniversary of Russia launching its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Since then at least 10,000 Ukrainian civilians have been killed, and over six million have sought refuge across the world. But as Russia's war in Ukraine enters its third year, President Vladimir Putin is betting that western politicking and hesitations will hand him the victory he has failed to achieve on the ground. Earlier this week, a survey revealed that only one in ten Europeans believe that Ukraine can win the war. BBC's James Waterhouse spoke to Corin Dann.
In this Call with the Experts podcast, Jeffrey Hiday, director of Media Relations at RAND, is joined by RAND experts William Courtney, an adjunct senior fellow; Samuel Charap, a senior political scientist; James Black, Assistant Director, Defence and Security, RAND Europe; Ann Marie Dailey, a policy researcher; and Khrystyna Holynska, an assistant policy researcher. They discuss the state of the conflict in Ukraine and its prospects, the war's global implications, possible outcomes and solutions, and what the West and the rest of the world might be doing now and once hostilities end.
I only need to walk a block or two in any direction from my home to see a poster pleading for information related to the disappearance of 16 year old Devon Marsman. Devon was last seen in late February of 2022, and since then there has been little in the way of reliable details, tips, or sightings. The most significant thing those searching for him have learned is that Devon seemed to have maintained two separate sets of personal relationships. One group his parents knew about and another group they didn't. As you may have guessed it's the later group are the people Devon spend his last known days with... and their ever evolving stories have done nothing but obscure the trail left behind. Jon also talks about his own recovery from alcoholism, and how a solid program is important even when you're exposed to AA all day at work. There's a hilarious bonus of bloopers from year two at the end. While we provide the podcast at no charge, we do have expenses. Quotes:“My favorite episode, and I can't narrow it down to one, are the ones that provoke thought. The ones that make people think and the ones that progress our breed as a whole.” [15:27]“I think we shouldn't underestimate heifer retention. The heifer market this fall is going to be wild. So I'm not so sure we're gonna need fewer bulls.” [34:32]“I have two sets of goals. Ones that are micro-level goals and ones that are macro-level goals. One the micro, it's really simple. Make the cattle more problem-free, increase net profit year over year, and then on the macro level, improve consistency and uniformity.” [39:52]“For me, it's all about the cows behind the bull, and how those cows behind the bull complement those behind the female that I'm breeding.” [1:31:02]
