The event, spotted in galaxy NGC 3799, was observed in visible light, offering unprecedented insights into these violent phenomena. The tidal disruption event, now cataloged as Assassin 23 BD, emitted less energy and faded more rapidly than typical cases, placing it in a unique classification and suggesting such occurrences may be more common than once thought.*Hunting New Physics in Neutron Star WrecksThe cataclysmic mergers of neutron stars could be hiding secrets of new physics, with potential clues about the enigmatic dark matter. The historic GW170817 collision, which sent ripples through space-time, has now been used to constrain theories on axion-like particles. These elusive entities could be part of the dark matter puzzle, and their traces might be detectable in future neutron star mergers, offering a new window into the fundamental workings of the universe.*Guardian Gas Giants and Their Terrestrial ChargesA new study suggests that Earth-like planets often come with Jupiter-like protectors. Simulations of planetary systems show that "dry" super-Earths and distant "cold" Jupiters frequently coexist, with the gas giants acting as cosmic shields. This relationship hints at a formation pattern where massive protoplanetary disks give rise to both rocky worlds and their gaseous sentinels, providing a glimpse into the architecture of alien solar systems.*China's Moonwalk Ambitions by 2030China has set its sights on the Moon, with plans to land taikonauts on the lunar surface before the end of the decade. The ambitious project involves the development of the Long March 10 rocket, a new spacecraft, and a lunar lander. In a two-launch scenario, the vehicles will rendezvous in lunar orbit, setting the stage for China's historic manned moon landing and furthering their collaboration with Russia on a lunar base.Plus, we examine the latest space news, delve into the science of extreme heat and preterm births, and explore the mystery of microplastics in human arteries. For more SpaceTime and to support the show, visit our website at https://spacetimewithstuartgary.com where you can access our universal listen link, find show notes, and learn how to become a patron.Listen to SpaceTime on your favorite podcast app with our universal listen link: https://spacetimewithstuartgary.com/listen and access show links via https://linktr.ee/biteszHQSupport the show: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/spacetime-with-stuart-gary--2458531/supportFor more space and astronomy podcasts, visit our HQ at https://bitesz.com
Have you ever wondered how the best trial lawyers prepare for court? Join me as I sit down with Justin Starin of McKenna & Starin, to pull back the curtain on the strategic deployment of focus groups in personal injury law. Together, we venture beyond the traditional mock trial format, navigating the nuances of targeted sessions that dissect specific issues like causation and case framing. Justin's expertise shines as we dissect how focus groups can not only unveil potential juror biases but also refine witness preparation and bolster plaintiff credibility—essential tools for any legal arsenal. We also delve into the art of simplifying complex legal arguments for the lay jury. From revising opening statements to rendering technical evidence understandable, we expose the trials of countering preconceived notions and managing inflated expectations set by the likes of CSI. For legal professionals aiming to cut through legal jargon and connect with a jury, this episode is an invaluable masterclass in strategic case management. In this episode, you will hear: Using focus groups for causation Responsibility of testing security systems Challenges in investigating a death case Expert testimony for defense against blame Focus groups in legal cases benefits (90 seconds) Follow and Review: We'd love for you to follow us if you haven't yet. This weeks show is a follow on from my curve ball cast. Now your looking for new work, unless you get a job with a fella in a pub, you will need to have and be interviewed. Listen to my thoughts of using the STAR tool.STARIn the STAR technique. Candidates can effectively provide evidence of how they have used their skills in practical situations. It is a good technique to look out for, and it shows that candidates are competent at retrospectively judging their competencies based on past situations, and learning from them.

In this episode of the TA Leaders podcast, we have a great discussion with Lisa Starin, Director of Talent Acquisition and Talent Management at Baylor Scott & White Health. Lisa is currently serving in a dual role. She leads the talent acquisition team of 22 members. She also serves as the interim talent management director in charge of a new performance management framework and platform for 50,000+ employees. Interestingly, Lisa started her career in a hybrid role as office support and an associate recruiter. But she took the opportunity to become a full-fledged recruiter as soon as it became available. She shares the “old school” recruiting method she mainly used at the beginning of her career, and why she wouldn't change anything about her early days. Lisa spent about 17 years at UnitedHealth Group as a recruiter, recruiting manager, and a few other roles. She's spent most of her career in what she calls “the business of people” and “being able to match careers with unique talent.” In her current role, Lisa and her team hire approximately 12,000 – 13,000 people per year. She shares how they've had interesting challenges in the healthcare industry in the middle of the pandemic. Lisa also talks about some of the biggest challenges and initiatives they're working on moving forward, including some significant changes in workflows for specific roles and what they're doing to help with internal mobility. Finally, Lisa shares what she sees for the future of talent acquisition. She mentions what she's focused on improving to help with internal mobility at Baylor Scott & White Health, as well as some great insights into how all professionals should be approaching talent acquisition. This episode is brought to you by SageMark HR. Sagemark HR can help you: ✔ Improve your talent practices and make better, more informed people decisions. After 20+ years of experience leading Recruiting and Talent Acquisition across a wide variety of industries, I've seen enough hires (over 100,000 to date) to know that hiring decisions truly can make or break an organization. ✔ Identify opportunities to not only improve your talent practices, but also deliver tangible business results. We understand every organization is different, and there's no one-size-fits-all magic solution. So we listen first and identify the gaps and sticking points in your current process before ever recommending a solution. ✔ Bridge the gap from “traditional” to modern recruiting, without the painful learning curve. We believe recruiting, talent, and HR technology is a deep well of untapped business potential, and our mission is to help you identify and implement those hiring tools in a way that works for you. On today’s program, turmoil at a Christian radio station in Orlando has caused the entire industry to take a hard look in the mirror. We begin today with the story of a ministry founder who has been asked to step down from his role because of “unbiblical behavior.” Each week, MinistryWatch brings you news about Christian ministries, as well as the latest in charity and philanthropy, news that we examine from a Christian worldview perspective. Our goal is to help us become better stewards of the resources God has entrusted to us. And a couple of MinistryWatch updates: Thanks to those of you who have purchased my book “Faith-Based Fraud” during its launch week. We debuted at #1 in several Amazon categories. If you don’t have your book yet, you can go to Amazon or your favorite online bookseller and get your copy today. And, after you’ve read it, please write a review. The more reviews we have, the better the book performs in their search algorithms. And I also want to mention that this is our 101st podcast episode since beginning this program a little more than a year ago. If you’re a regular listener, THANKS. If you’re new to the program, WELCOME, and I hope you’ll check out our archives, especially our EXTRA episodes that feature interviews with experts and newsmakers. On today’s program, the annual March for Life is going virtual this year amid concerns of COVID. We also have a deep dive into Ramsey Solutions, the company behind the popular money guru Dave Ramsey. We begin today with news that a Christian crowd-funding site was used to finance the efforts of the Proud Boys and other radical groups associated with the Jan. 6 insurrection in Washington, D.C. Each week, MinistryWatch brings you news about Christian ministries, as well as the latest in charity and philanthropy, news that we examine from a Christian worldview perspective. Our goal is to help us become better stewards of the resources God has entrusted to us. One housekeeping item before we go. Our technology wizard Stephen DuBarry has figured out a way to show the salary data for many of the ministries in our database. What that means is that if you go to the profile of a ministry in the MinistryWatch database, you’ll now see salary information for every executive listed on the ministry’s Form 990. That’s salary information for thousands of executives. This is a huge development for us here at MinistryWatch, and I think it will end up being a huge service to our database users. So check out this new addition by going to MinistryWatch.com. Click on the red button at the top of the page. That takes you to our database. The search engine is right there, and you can type in the name of a ministry you’re interested in and our profile will pop right up – now, with compensation information for the top executives. The producers for today’s program are Rich Roszel and Steve Gandy. We get database and other technical support from Cathy Goddard, Stephen DuBarry, and Casey Sudduth. Writers who contributed to today’s program include Rod Pitzer, Christina Darnell, Mark Hrywna, Bethany E. Starin, Bob Smietana, and Emily Miller. Thanks to our friends at The NonProfit Times for contributing material to this week’s program.

So I'mma tell you like I told the last bum Crumbs and pennies, I need all of mines And I recognize this type of panhandlin' all the time I got better judgement, I know when it's hustlin', keep in mind When I was strugglin', I did compromise, now I comprehend I smell grandpa's old medicine, reekin' from your skin Moonshine and gin, now you're babblin', your words ain't flatterin' I'm imaginin' Denzel but lookin' at O'Neal Kazaam is sad thrills, your gimmick is mediocre The jig is up, I seen you from a mile away losin' focus And I'm insensitive, and I lack empathy He looked at me and said, "Your potential is bittersweet" I looked at him and said, "Every nickel is mines to keep" He looked at me and said, "Know the truth, it'll set you free You're lookin' at the Messiah, the son of Jehovah, the higher power The choir that spoke the word, the Holy Spirit The nerve of Nazareth, and I'll tell you just how much a dollar cost The price of having a spot in Heaven, embrace your loss, I am God"I wash my hands, I said my grace What more do you want from me? Tears of a clown, guess I'm not all what is meant to be Shades of grey will never change if I condone Turn this page, help me change, so right my wrongs
