A group of teenagers drive out into the desert in search of sex, beer, and general good times. When their van breaks down, they find a group of prospectors who welcome the kids and offer them a place to stay until they can get help. It soon becomes evident, however, that there is more to these prospectors than they claim, and soon the teens are fleeing for their lives.

Vanessa Gebhardt is a 29-year-old from Munich, Germany. She is known by many as a happy athlete with an infectious smile. Gebhardt has taken on and succeeded in some of the toughest races on the earth including Fuego y Agua's Survival Run in both Canada and Nicaragua. She recently not only finished the notoriously hard event Survival Run Nicaragua this year (with an average finisher rate around 5%) but she won the event overall besting three locals in the process. Gebhardt joins the podcast to talk about her jump into training through Freeletics in 2012 and how she found obstacle racing and eventually Survival Run in 2016 and 2017. She talks about how a positive mindset helps her achieve her goals, and how she likes to challenge herself to continue to evolve and grow. The old adage is action speaks louder than words and Vanessa Gebhardt embodies this through her athletic achievements and overall commitment to continual improvement. She definitely inspires all those around her to try a little harder and be a little better in all aspects of life. If I get hurt, lost, or die, it is my own damn fault”. "SURVIVAL RUN is not an obstacle course race (OCR), an adventure race, an ultra marathon or a survival skills event, but an adaptation of all of these. SURVIVAL RUN is all about adapting to the environment and taking on challenges that are part of the culture and location where the event takes place. SURVIVAL RUN does not pretend to be dangerous, it is dangerous. That is why it is only for those who are truly physically and mentally prepared to take on the extreme challenges."
Enjoy!
This long-gestating episode is about the Milton Bradley game Survival Run, as well as its accompanying controller, the Cosmic Commander! I talk a lot about Milton Bradley as a company in this episode, I hope you like old commercials. I will also announce the winner of the Survival Run cartridge in the Strudders' Score segment at the end of the show, thanks to both Strudders and Mini Strudders for doing that! Next time will be Space Raid, the homebrew game by Oscar Toledo Gutierrez, aka nanochess on Atari Age. If you have any thoughts on this game or any that I've covered in the past, please send it to me at 2600gamebygame@gmail.com and you'll hear it on the show. Here's a little update on what I've been doing instead of working on the Survival Run episode. That episode will be out next Wednesday. And don't forget the contest! If you'd like a shot at winning Survival Run (provided by Strudders hisself), all you have to do is guess the combined Strudders' Score of Strudders himself and also Mini Strudders. So for example, if Strudders rates it 6 out of 10 and Mini Strudders gives it 5 out of 10, the entrant who comes closest to 11 (over or under, this ain't the Price Is Right) will win the game! In case of a tie, I will use random.org to determine the winner. Please get your entries in to me by July11th, and if you have any feedback you'd like me to read on that show, please try to have it in by then as well. As always, thank you so much for listening!
