The April 13 episode of AEW Dynamite will feature a buzzworthy title bout. As announced on the April 8 episode of AEW Rampage, ROH World TV Champion Minoru Suzuki will defend his title against Samoa Joe on Wednesday. This past week, “The Samoan Submission Machine” scored a victory in his AEW debut against Max Caster as he became the first man to qualify for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Suzuki won the title at ROH Supercard of Honor, the first ROH event since Khan bought the company, by defeating Rhett Titus. Plus, on AEW Rampage, Ricky Starks challenged Swerve Strickland to a tag team bout match for Wednesday's show. The FTW Champion will team up with Team Taz stablemate Powerhouse Hobbs to face Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee. The two sides have been feuding in recent weeks, and Lee has been engaged in a rivalry with Hobbs since the road to AEW Revolution. There, the two powerhouses clashed in the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match. SmackDown ended with Reigns powerbombing Dominik from the ring to the floor...though the impact was not shown on camera. WWE announced on its social media late Friday night that Montez Ford suffered a partial rib fracture and a cartilage injury...due to a post-match attack by Otis last night. He interrupted a one-on-one match between Ford and Chad Gable...and also attacked Angelo Dawkins backstage. The battle over the crown of King Corbin could be settled next Friday. Corbin and Shinsuke Nakamura will meet...with the crown on the line. Those two faced off on last night's SmackDown...and Nakamura rolled up Corbin for the pin. Kevin Owens and Big E beat Apollo Crews and Sami Zayn. Owens pinned Zayn with a stunner. And then, Commander Azeez laid out Zayn after the match. Liv Morgan avenged her loss to Carmella last week with a win in the rematch. Cesaro returned to SmackDown to ambush Seth Rollins - during his appearance on Bayley's “Ding Dong Hello?” talk show. (STINGER: AEW) The wheels came off Team Taz in the main event of last night's Dynamite. Hangman Page & Dark Order's #10 beat Brian Cage & Powerhouse Hobbs. #10 pinned Hobbs. Ricky Starks and Hook tried to pass the FTW Title to Cage behind the referee's back...but Cage once again refused their help. Starks slapped Cage...and Cage then stalked Starks to the back. That left Hobbs alone to take the Buckshot Lariat from Page...and be pinned by #10. Also last night, Miro submitted Evil Uno to retain the TNT Championship. Nyla Rose pinned LEGIT Leyla Hirsch with a Beast Bomb from the second rope. Eddie Kingston, Pac & Penta El Zero Miedo beat the Young Bucks and Brandon Cutler. Pac pinned Cutler. The Good Brothers tried to jump Kingston, Pac and Penta after the match but they were cut off by the ELITE HUNTER Frankie Kazarian. Darby Allin declined to find a tag partner other than Sting. He said he'll accept a handicap match against Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky on next week's Dynamite...and Allin told Sting to stay home for it. Dr. Britt Baker looks to end Hikaru Shida's one-year reign as AEW Women's Champion. Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston challenge the Young Bucks for the AEW Tag Titles. Miro puts his TNT Championship on the line against Lance Archer. Plus, Serena Deeb will defend the NWA Women's World Championship on the “Buy In” pre-show...against Riho. Also on show...The Inner Circle vs. The Pinnacle in a Stadium Stampede. If The Inner Circle loses, they must disband. Sting & Darby Allin team up against Scorpio Sky & Ethan Page...Cody Rhodes faces Anthony Ogogo...and Hangman Page goes one-on-one with Brian Cage. On Friday Night Dynamite in front of a seemingly full capacity Daly's Place saw Darby Allin over Cezar Bononi in the opening match followed by Dark Order saving Sting and Darby from an attack by Page and Sky. Paul Wight hosted a weigh in for Anthony Ogogo vs Cody Rhodes, which didn't end in physicality. Hangman Page defeated Joey Janela followed by a face to face with Page and Cage where Page asked for a one on one without Team Taz Jade Cargill defeated her challenger KiLynn King but also took on her official new manager Mark Sterling. Miro successfully defended the TNT title against Dante Martin Dark Order's Evil Uno & Stu Grayson fell to Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky before being attacked by an ARMY of STINGS! The Inner Circle Celebration ended with the group being lured into an ambush by The Pinnacle who had kidnapped Dean Malenko! Shaquille O'Neal says he will wrestle again…”this summer”. He made the comment during Thursday's “NBA on TNT” broadcast. (STINGER: WWE) WWE has a date set for SummerSlam. It'll be held on a SATURDAY - August 21st. The location is being kept under wraps...for now. WWE says it'll be revealed next Saturday...on NBC...during the Belmont Stakes' pre-race show. The SummerSlam announcement was part of a big release of dates and locations for live WWE events over the summer. Some are non-televised “Supershows”. There are also Raw dates now set for Chicago...Orlando..San Antonio...San Diego...Oklahoma City...and Miami. As well as SmackDown dates in Tampa...Tulsa, Oklahoma...Phoenix...Little Rock, Arkansas...and Jacksonville. Tickets go on sale on Friday, June 11th. On Smackdown Friday night… The reunited Usos defeated the Street Profits Natalia & Tamina beat Riot Squad in a non-title match Bianca Bellaire defeated Carmella with Bayley on commentary Keven Owens nearly beat Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews before interference by General Aziz Nakamura defeated Chad Gable and narrowly avoided losing his crown back to Baron Corbin thanks to Rick Boogs Dominik Mysterio defended the Smackdown Tag Team Championship solo against Ziggler and Roode after an apparent attack on Rey Mysterio during the break . Rey came out to distract for the win and retain. The Usos are now set to challenge for the championships next week on Smackdown. He revealed that Wednesday in an Instagram post. He said he's been in the hospital for 5 days and expects to remain there for a bit longer. EC3 said the issue is “an infection (he) neglected proper care for”...and he will heal. EC3 is set to headline a “Free The Narrative” pay per view event...in a match against Matt Cardona...coming up on Thursday, May 27th. (STINGER: Impact) Tonight's Impact is the last stop before Sunday's Rebellion pay per view - and the big Title vs. Title main event between Kenny Omega and Rich Swann. We'll get some final words from both men. Also, we'll see the Good Brothers vs. Decay...Eddie Edwards vs. Eric Young...and Shera vs. Jake Something. (STINGER: AEW) A pair of title matches on last night's Dynamite... Hikaru Shida pinned Tay Conti to retain her AEW Women's Championship. Dr. Britt Baker was out after the match to reveal SHE is now on top of the rankings of contenders for Shida's title. In last night's main event...Darby Allin held onto his TNT Championship. He used the Last Supper to hold down Jungle Boy for the pin. During the match, Sting traded punches with Luchasaurus...and that tussle spilled down one of the entrance tunnels. After the match, Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky ran out to beat up Allin and Jungle Boy. Page hit Allin with the Ego's Edge. Lance Archer came out. Page and Sky beat him up too. Sting returned and that was enough to get rid of Page and Sky.. The show opened with Hangman Page SUBMITTING Ricky Starks - cinching up his head and ankle to get the tap out. Earlier in the match, Starks under-rotated while flipping out of a German suplex and landed on the back of his neck. Starks later tweeted that he's “good”. Team Taz jumped Page after the match, but Dark Order quickly ran out for the save. Penta El Zero Miedo beat Trent. Penta's translater Alex Abrahantes got physically involved in this match - taking advantage of a distracted referee...and hitting Trent in the head with a microphone, allowing Penta to finish him off. QT Marshall pinned Billy Gunn. This was a wild one. Marshall's student Nick Comoroto brawled with Gunn's sons at ringside. As that was happening, Anthony Ogogo snuck out...and one punch to the midsection of Billy Gunn led to a Cutter from QT...and the pin. Marshall was looking for more after the match - but he was run off by Dustin Rhodes, who was armed with a bull rope. Rhodes settled for smashing a wooden chair over the head of Comoroto. Christian Cage hit the Killswitch and pinned Powerhouse Hobbs. The Elite spent most of the night in their new personal trailer. So, of course, Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston showed up and rammed it with a pickup truck. (STINGER: WWE) WWE will report its first quarter earnings today. There will also be a conference call starting at 5PM Eastern with Vince McMahon, Nick Khan and others addressing investors. Moustache Mountain reunites on today's NXT UK. Tyler Bate and Trent Seven team up to face Noam Dar and Sha Samuels. Also on the show...Joe Coffey vs. Eddie Dennis. Any comeback plans for Ronda Rousey in WWE will have to wait. On Wednesday, Rousey announced she's pregnant. She and her husband Travis Browne said the due date is in September. (STINGER: New Japan) A stipulation was added to the upcoming match between Zack Sabre Jr. and Tanga Loa. If Sabre wins, he and Taichi get a tag title shot against the Guerillas Of Destiny. But if Tanga Loa wins, Sabre and Taichi can never again challenge for those titles. That match is at the Wrestling Dontaku show on May 3rd. (STINGER: ROH) Ian Riccaboni confirmed a report by Fightful that he re-signed with Ring Of Honor. Riccaboni said he signed the deal “during the early stages” of the COVID-19 pandemic. Major League Wrestling's Court Bauer delivering some news on last night's Fusion. He announced MLW is getting back on the road...holding hold its first event in front of LIVE fans in over a year. It's gonna be on July 10th...in Philadelphia, at the 2300 Arena - the former ECW Arena. Myron Reed will get his rematch for the MLW Middleweight Title now held by Lio Rush on Fusion on May 5th. An upset in the main event of last night's Fusion - Bu Ku Dao used a flying, spinning flatliner from the second rope...to pin TJP. Also last night, Rocky Romero submitted Gino Medina. Io Shirai's more than 300-day reign as NXT Women's Champion is over. She was dethroned by Raquel Gonzalez in the main event of Night 1 of TakeOver - a match that saw Shirai leap from the TOP of the entrance stage. MSK are the new NXT Tag Team Champions. They won the 3-way for the vacant titles. The Grizzled Young Veterans' James Drake took the pin. WALTER beat Tommaso Ciampa to retain the NXT UK Championship. Pete Dunne opened the show with a win over Kushida. On the pre-show, Zoey Stark upset Toni Storm. We mentioned WALTER's win over Ciampa last night. We'll see WALTER in action again today - another defense of his UK Title...against Rampage Brown. That's the main event of the NXT UK Prelude special. Also on that show...Tyler Bate vs. Noam Dar. That's a #1 Contender's Match For The Heritage Cup Title held by A-Kid. Plus, UK Women's Champion Kay Lee Ray & Isla Dawn vs. Emilia McKenzie & Meiko Satomura. WWE President Nick Khan says there are big expectations for WrestleMania on Peacock...following the success of Fastlane.. (Nick Khan Fastlane Subs) Nick Khan speaking on The Colin Cowherd Podcast. A few more notes from that interview. Nick Khan said Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch will both be returning to WWE in the not-too-distant future. (STINGER: AEW) More than a year after the match was first mentioned, AEW will finally deliver “Blood And Guts” - The Inner Circle vs. Pinnacle...on Dynamite...at Daily's Place...on Wednesday, May 5th. Chris Jericho issued the challenge on last night's Dynamite. Later, Pinnacle attacked Jericho backstage...and dragged him to the ring. The rest of The Inner Circle were locked in their dressing room. Wardlow was looking to finish off Jericho when Mike Tyson entered the arena. He got some punches in on Shawn Spears. The rest of Pinnacle made a run for it....and then, Tyson and Jericho publicly made amends - following up on their brawl on Dynamite a little less than a year ago. Tyson will be back on next Wednesday's Dynamite as the special enforcer for a one-on-one match between Jericho and Pinnacle's Dax Harwood. The Young Bucks couldn't pull the trigger during the 6-man tag team main event - Matt Jackson spared Kenny Omega multiple times...to the point that their partner Jon Moxley got sick of waiting and hit Omega with a pair of Paradigm Shifts. That's when the Bucks turned on Moxley and finally sided with Omega and the Good Brothers. Pac and Rey Fenix get their shot at the Bucks' tag team titles on next Wednesday's Dynamite. Also next week, Darby Allin will defend the TNT Championship against Matt Hardy in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Allin had a successful defense last night against JD Drake. Also last night, Tay Conti beat The Bunny. And Taz offered Christian Cage a spot in Team Taz. This is the first BIG day of independent shows surrounding WrestleMania week in Tampa. Josh Barnett's Bloodsport 6 is tonight...with Barnett vs. Jon Moxley in the main event. The late night For The Culture show has Rich Swann vs. 2 Cold Scorpio...and Lee Moriarty vs. Lio Rush.
