It was a massive week in the world of UAPs. So enormous, in fact, that the decision was made to put out a new Episode of Unidentified History to try and stay on top of everything that went down. A monumental UAP Hearing took place this past week. Five witnesses testified to incredible events they observed, tracked, discussed, or investigated. We heard amazing stories about glowing red rectangles the size of a football field, massive black triangular craft hovering overhead, a formation of tic-tacs racing away from the USS Jackson, UFO sightings in the Soviet Union, and so much more. But, more importantly, several whistleblowers testified to the retaliation and repercussions they have faced for their decision to come forward. With the theme of the hearing being to provide greater protection for national security whistleblowers, the question of whether anything can really be done has to be asked. But then, Representative Eric Burlison showed a video that has the whole world talking. Did a UFO really deflect one of our Hellfire missiles, or was this just a video of something with a much more earthly explanation? The next day, we got an update on our friend, 3i/atlas. This supposed comet continues to do things comets are not supposed to, and this time out, it has changed color and shape. Is it time to panic yet? And then, to top it all off, NASA announced that they very well might have found signs of ancient microbial life....on Mars! Yes, you heard that right. No wreckage or debris has ever been found, and 27 lives were lost. What might have happened? Was it all just pilot error? Was it all attributable to equipment malfunction? Did the squadron leader panic and doom himself and his colleagues to their fate? Or was something anomalous involved? Joining me for this episode is philosopher Kimberly S. Engels. Kimberly is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Molloy University and her research focuses on existentialism, phenomenology, and ethics. In 2023 she started a new research project on the UAP phenomenon, focusing on the lived conscious experience of individuals who report these kind encounters, and how they integrate these experiences into their understanding of self, other, and world. This work has seen her become Research Director at the John Mack Institute, and Advisory Board Member for the Society for UAP Studies. Phenomenology is the direct investigation and description of phenomena as consciously experienced, without theories about their causal explanation. In the interview I begin by talking with Kimberly about her background and exploring phenomenology in more detail. From there we discuss how its methods can be applied in the of study of extraordinary experiences such as those people have with UAPs/UFOs and also how it can help experiencers understand those events on a personal level. In this episode of The Good Trouble Show with Matt Ford, physicist / electrical engineer Mitch Randall demonstrates a radar system for detecting UAPs / UFOs that can be deployed by the public, bypassing Pentagon classification rules. The tech is called Passive Bistatics and is a distributed UFO detection system with multi-sensor data and provenance. It's designed to distinguish instantaneous acceleration - something humans can't do. This tech will be globally revealed for the first time so anyone can develop the tech. He joined the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in 1989 where he developed airborne, ground-based, and mobile scientific weather research radars. Randall pioneered Software Defined Radio (SDR) techniques and deployed them in NCAR, NASA, and NOAA radars. He developed a software-based Dopplerization technique for incoherent magnetron radars to create the Doppler On Wheels (DOW) tornado-chasing trucks, upon which was formed the Center for Severe Weather Research in Boulder, CO. His technologies became the industry standard for the meteorological weather radar community in the mid 90s. Working for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in 2010, Randall developed a millimeter wave channel sounder to characterize real-world cell communications, used to develop today's 5G networks. Randall co-founded Binet in the 90s to bring passive radar tech to weather radars. Randall co-founded Advanced Radar Corporation in the 2000's. In 2005 Randall co-founded WildCharge and licensed his wireless charging technology Duracell. This invention was featured in TIME magazine's "Best Inventions of 2007" issue. Randall is a prolific inventor with licensed toys currently on the market. Randall co-founded Ascendant Artificial Intelligence (AAI), a consulting firm developing custom AI and consumer electronics. In 2021 Randall became a Research Team member of Harvard's Galileo Project, where he developed and deployed the proof of concept SkyWatch passive radar.
