Flight Crash In NY From The WTC Attack to Other Disasters. Special Episode. When the world thinks of catastrophic events in New York City, two significant tragedies come to mind: the World Trade Center (WTC) attack on September 11, 2001, and the devastating crash of TWA Flight 800 in 1996. These disasters, marked by unimaginable loss and sorrow, remain etched in the memories of those who lived through them and those who responded to the aftermath. Stacey Goodman, a retired Suffolk County, New York, Police Officer, is our guest on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast. The podcast episode is available for free on our website, Apple Podcasts, Spotify and most major podcast platforms. She witnessed both of these harrowing events firsthand. With a background as a Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team (DMORT) specialist for the Federal Government, Goodman was no stranger to tragedy. Her first experience in disaster response was the TWA Flight 800 crash, a tragedy that took the lives of all 230 passengers aboard. Years later, her training and federal security clearance led her to Ground Zero, where she worked tirelessly on the Pile for 23 days following the WTC attack. Follow the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Newsbreak, Medium and most all social media platforms In an exclusive conversation, Goodman shared, “The weight of these experiences is something you carry with you forever. Working in the heart of such devastation, recovering human remains, and facing the unimaginable grief of victims' families is something that stays with you.” Look for supporting stories about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium, Newsbreak and Blogspot. Her book, The Dust Never Settles, chronicles her experiences and the lasting impact of her service. Goodman describes the challenges of confronting conspiracy theories that often emerge from these events. “There will always be people who question what happened, who suggest alternative narratives. For me, I know what I saw, what I touched, and what I felt. That reality is indisputable,” she shared. Follow the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and podcast on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Newsbreak, Medium and most all social media platforms The TWA Flight 800 crash, a tragedy that unfolded off the coast of Long Island, was initially suspected to be a terrorist attack. After a lengthy investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the FBI, the official cause was determined to be an explosion of flammable fuel vapors due to a short circuit. Despite the findings, conspiracy theories still linger, fueled by misinformation and conspiracy theorists. Many of whom spread their message across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter). Flight Crash In NY From The WTC Attack to Other Disasters. The interview is available as a free podcast on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and podcast website, also available on platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and most major podcast outlets. On September 11, 2001, the narrative of terrorism was tragically evident. The attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, along with the crash of United Airlines Flight 93, left an indelible scar on the nation. The collapse of the Twin Towers killed 2,753 people, while the Pentagon attack claimed 184 lives and Flight 93’s crash in Pennsylvania took the lives of 40 passengers. For Goodman, the aftermath of 9/11 was a grueling journey. “Working at Ground Zero was surreal,” she said. “We weren't just sifting through rubble—we were uncovering stories, lives, and the remnants of a tragedy that the world watched unfold in real-time.” Today, Goodman’s reflections resonate through her writing, public speaking, and podcast appearances on The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast, available for free on their website, in addition to Apple Podcasts, Spotify and many others. Her mission is to share the unfiltered reality of disaster response, honoring the victims and the resilience of those who endured unimaginable loss. While platforms like LinkedIn may showcase her professional accomplishments, her story goes beyond the accolades. It is a testament to courage, sacrifice, and the resolve to face darkness while seeking light. In a world shaped by these tragedies, the voices of those like Stacey Goodman remind us of the lasting impact of loss and the strength required to carry its weight. Her story, both sobering and inspiring, echoes the need to approach these events with empathy, understanding, and respect for the truth. On that morning, 19 terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners scheduled to travel from the East Coast to California. The hijackers crashed the first two planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and aimed the next two flights toward targets in or near Washington, D. C., in an attack on the nation's capital. The third team succeeded in striking the Pentagon, the headquarters of the U. S. Department of Defense in Arlington County, Virginia, while the fourth plane crashed in rural Pennsylvania during a passenger revolt. The September 11 attacks killed 2,977 people, making it the deadliest terrorist attack in history. In response to the attacks, the United States waged the multi-decade global war on terror to eliminate hostile groups deemed terrorist organizations, as well as the foreign governments purported to support them, in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and several other countries.Ringleader Mohamed Atta flew American Airlines Flight 11 into the North Tower of the World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan at 8:46 a.m. Seventeen minutes later, at 9:03, the World Trade Center's South Tower was hit by United Airlines Flight 175. Both 110-story skyscrapers collapsed within an hour and forty-one minutes, bringing about the destruction of the remaining five structures in the WTC complex and damaging or destroying nearby buildings. American Airlines Flight 77 flew towards Washington, D. C. and crashed into the Pentagon at 9:37 a.m., causing a partial collapse. The fourth and final flight, United Airlines Flight 93, also changed course towards Washington, believed by investigators to target either the United States Capitol or the White House. Alerted to the previous attacks, the passengers revolted against the hijackers who then crashed the aircraft into a Stonycreek Township field, near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, at 10:03 a.m. The Federal Aviation Administration ordered an indefinite ground stop for all air traffic in U. S. airspace at 9:45 a.m. (59 minutes following the first impact), preventing any further aircraft departures until September 13 and requiring all airborne aircraft to return to their point of origin or divert to Canada. The actions undertaken in Canada to support incoming aircraft and their occupants were collectively titled Operation Yellow Ribbon. That evening, the Central Intelligence Agency informed President George W. Bush that its Counterterrorism Center had identified the attacks as having been the work of Al-Qaeda under Osama bin Laden. The United States formally responded by launching the war on terror and invading Afghanistan to depose the Taliban, which rejected the conditions of U. S. terms to expel Al-Qaeda from Afghanistan and extradite its leaders. The U. S.'s invocation of Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty—its only usage to date—called upon allies to fight Al-Qaeda. As U. S. and NATO invasion forces swept through Afghanistan, bin Laden eluded them by disappearing into the White Mountains. He denied any involvement until 2004, when excerpts of a taped statement in which he accepted responsibility for the attacks were released. Al-Qaeda's cited motivations included U. S. support of Israel, the presence of U. S. military bases in Saudi Arabia and sanctions against Iraq. The nearly decade-long manhunt for bin Laden concluded on May 2, 2011, when he was killed during a U. S. military raid on his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. The war in Afghanistan continued for another eight years until the agreement was made in February 2020 for American and NATO troops to withdraw from the country. The last members of the U. S. armed forces left the region on August 30, 2021, after which the Taliban rapidly returned to power. Ayman al-Zawahiri, another planner of the attacks who succeeded bin Laden as leader of Al-Qaeda, was killed by U. S. drone strikes in Kabul, Afghanistan on July 31, 2022.Excluding the hijackers, the attacks killed 2,977 people, injured thousands more and gave rise to substantial long-term health consequences while also causing at least $10 billion in infrastructure and property damage. It remains the deadliest terrorist attack in history as well as the deadliest incident for firefighters and law enforcement personnel in American history, killing 343 and 72 members, respectively. The loss of life stemming from the impact of Flight 11 made it the most lethal multi-plane crash in aviation history followed by the death toll incurred by Flight 175. The destruction of the World Trade Center and its environs seriously harmed the U. S. economy and induced global market shocks. Many other countries strengthened anti-terrorism legislation and expanded their powers of law enforcement and intelligence agencies. The total number of deaths caused by the attacks, combined with the death tolls from the conflicts they directly incited, has been estimated by the Costs of War Project to be over 4.5 million. Cleanup of the World Trade Center site (colloquially "Ground Zero") took eight months and was completed in May 2002, while the Pentagon was repaired within a year. After delays in the design of a replacement complex, six new buildings were planned to replace the lost towers, along with a museum and memorial dedicated to those who were killed or injured in the attacks. The tallest building, One World Trade Center, began construction in November 2006; it opened in November 2014. Memorials to the attacks include the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York City, the Pentagon Memorial in Arlington County, Virginia, and the Flight 93 National Memorial at the Pennsylvania crash site. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 01:20 UTC on Thursday, 12 September 2024.For the full current version of the article, see September 11 attacks on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm standard Matthew.

It's Wednesday, September 11th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus 13 Christian prisoners released in Nicaragua Praise God! Thirteen Christians are out of prison after facing arrest in Nicaragua last December. Authorities in the Central American country falsely charged them with money laundering, sentenced them to prison for up to 15 years, and fined them nearly $1 billion.  The 13 individuals were pastors and attorneys affiliated with Mountain Gateway, a Christian ministry based out of Texas. They faced arrest right after holding a large evangelistic event.  The ministry said, “This is the day we have prayed and believed God for. These pastors and attorneys have suffered greatly for the sake of the Gospel, but it has not been in vain. The Kingdom of God is advancing because of their persecution.”  Isaiah 61:1 says, “He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.” First moments of the 9/11 Muslim terrorist attacks Twenty-three years ago today, at 8:46 a.m. on September 11, 2001, Dick Oliver, a reporter for Good Day New York on WNYW-TV, uttered these shocking words on live television as he talked to the anchor, Jim Ryan. OLIVER: “Jim, just a few moments ago, something, believed to be a plane, crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. I just saw flames inside. You can see the smoke coming out of the, of the tower. We have no idea of what it was. I was a tremendous boom just a few moments ago. You can hear around me emergency vehicles heading towards the scene. Now, this could have been an aircraft or it could have been something internal. It appears to be something coming from the outside due to the nature of the opening on about the 100th floor of the South Tower of the World Trade Center.” Minutes later, Dick Oliver observed this. OLIVER: “Now, the smoke coming out of the opening appears to be black smoke. This would indicate things that are burning inside. We have no idea of what happened. But we did hear what sounded like, sounded like an aircraft, and then, a tremendous boom. Now, I don't know whether we can confirm that that was an aircraft or not.” And then, for the first time, Fox 5 anchor Jim Ryan cited the 1993 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. RYAN: “One's memory has to go back to another terrorist attack -- one would hope it is not this time, but if it were a plane that crashed into the side of the building -- you would imagine that there would be something on the ground that would be visible.” OLIVER:  “That's true, Jim. I cannot see the ground from here. You recall back in, I believe, it was 1945 when a U.S. Air Force plane crashed into the, about the 80th floor of the Empire State Building during a foggy night. The skies here, as you can see, are perfectly clear. So, I'm starting to lean to the idea that perhaps, whatever happened here, came from the inside of the World Trade Center.” RYAN: “Something has either crashed into the World Trade Center. (Pause) Ah. If it. (Pause) We're, we're, I'm just told that Metro traffic is reporting that it was indeed a plane crash. If that's the case, ‘Where's the plane?' I would ask. I don't see it in that live picture there. One's thoughts, obviously, go back to a terrorist attack on the World Trade Center that created havoc there back in the early 90s.” On September 11, 2001, 19 Muslim terrorists hijacked four airplanes, two of which they flew into the World Trade Center towers. A third plane hit the Pentagon, which headquarters the Department of Defense, and the fourth, United Airlines Flight 93, which was likely destined to take out the Capitol, was downed in Pennsylvania by brave Americans who fought back. All told, 2,996 Americans perished along with all 19 Muslim al-Qaeda terrorists. Harris on the offensive in first debate with Trump Last night, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris met for the first time for the much-anticipated presidential debate hosted by ABC News in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, reports The Epoch Times. To her credit, Harris walked over to Trump's podium with an outstretched hand.  Trump shook her hand. HARRIS: “Kamala Harris. Let's have a good debate.” TRUMP: “Nice to see you. Let's have fun.” HARRIS: “Thank you.” TRUMP: “Thank you.” From the very beginning, Kamala went on the offense and retained the upper hand throughout, often appealing directly to the millions of American viewers for their vote by looking into the camera. Here is one representative exchange between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, reports RealClearPolitics.com. HARRIS:  “I actually have the endorsement of 200 Republicans who have formally worked with President Bush, Mitt Romney and John McCain, including the endorsement of former Vice President Dick Cheney and Congressmember Liz Cheney. “If you want to really know the inside track on who the former president is, if he didn't make it clear already, just ask people who have worked with him. His former Chief of Staff, a four-star General, has said he has contempt for the Constitution of the United States. His former National Security Adviser has said he is dangerous and unfit. His former Secretary of Defense has said the nation, the Republic, would never survive another Trump term. “When we listen to this kind of rhetoric, when the issues that affect the American people are not being addressed, I think the choice is clear in this election. DAVID MUIR: “President Trump, I'll give you a quick minute to respond.” TRUMP: “Thank you, because when I hear that, see, I'm a different kind of a person. I fired most of those people, not so graciously. They did bad things or a bad job. I fired them. They never fired one person. “They didn't fire anybody having to do with Afghanistan and the Taliban and the 13 people whose were just killed, viciously and violently killed. And I got to know the parents and the family. They didn't fire. They should have fired all those generals, all those top people, because that was one of the most incompetently handled situations anybody has ever seen. “So, when somebody does a bad job, I fire him. And you take a guy like [Secretary of Defense Mark] Esper, he was no good. I fired him. So, he writes a book. Another one writes a book. They have done such a poor job and they never fire anybody. Look at the economy. Look, look at the inflation. They didn't fire any of their economists. They have the same people. That's a good way not to have books written about you. But, just to finish, I got more votes than any Republican in history, by far.” No matter how you slice it, Harris hit a rhetorical homerun.  The radical leftist successfully flipped the switch and sounded more like a Republican than Trump, appealing to law and order, small businesses, and love of country. Despite the fact that she is the most Leftist candidate to run for the White House, she sounded like a centrist. No question about it. Kamala Harris will enjoy a post-debate bump. Ninth Circuit rules in favor of Christian colleges The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of Christian colleges at the end of last month. A group of students in favor of sexually perverted lifestyles were suing Christian schools for what they said was discrimination against their so-called sexual orientation or gender identity.  The court ruled against the students, saying that colleges holding to Biblical views of sexuality are not disqualified from federal funds.  Pastor thanks God for His protection after home shot up And finally, a Tennessee pastor is thanking God for protecting his family after a gunman fired at their house last Tuesday. Greg Locke is the pastor of Global Vision Bible Church in Mt. Juliet. The attack left dozens of bullet holes in his house and car. Only one of the family's daughters was home at the time, and thankfully was not injured.  In an online post, Locke wrote, “One of the bullets cut through the headboard of our youngest daughter's bed and lodged in her pillow . . . Psalm 91 is true. God protected us in unimaginable and supernatural ways.”  Psalm 91:1, 11 says, “The one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty. … For [the Lord] will give His angels orders concerning you, to protect you in all your ways.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, September 11th, in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Ron DiFrancesco moved to the New York City area in 2000 to take an investment job with a firm based in the South Tower of the World Trade Center. He was already at work on September 11, 2001, when the first plane hijacked by Al Qaeda terrorists struck the North Tower. People working in the South Tower were immediately told their building was fine and they should continue working. Soon a friend called DiFrancesco and urged him to evacuate. Just moments after leaving the spot where he had been working, a wing from United Airlines Flight 175 sliced through the office. In this edition of "Veterans Chronicles," DiFrancesco describes the horrors of what he saw happening in the North Tower after it was struck and before the South Tower was hit. He then walks us through the impact of the jetliner hitting his building, the intitially futile efforts to get downstairs and the "voice" that guided him to an exit that could get him away from all the debilitating smoke. DiFrancesco tells us about getting to the lobby, where he was directed to go, and the last thing he remembers as the South Tower came down. Some experts later concluded he was likely the last person to get out of the World Trade Center alive. He also discusses the injuries he suffered while getting out and the severe mental and emotional trauma that he and his family then endured for an extended time. DiFrancesco explains why he later decided to start speaking publicly about the horrific ordeal he endured.

On this day 23 years ago, the worst terrorist attack on American soil unfolded. Two highjacked planes crashed into the World Trade Center in New York, One hijacked plane crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and the fourth United Airlines Flight 93 crashed into a field in Somerset County Pennsylvania. The field is now the site of Flight 93 National Memorial. At 9:28 a.m. on September 11, 2001, Flight 93 was heading from Newark, New Jersey to San Francisco. Four men in firs stormed the cockpit and hijacked the plane. “What happens afterwards, of course, we only know of because of the phone calls that are made aboard Flight 93. And in the next 20 minutes, 13 people aboard Flight 93 are going to make a total of 37 phone calls. And that's going to tell us what was going on aboard the plane. But more importantly, it's going to tell what was going on the ground to the crew and passengers, “said Katie Hostetler, Public Information Officer for the National Park Service. A lot of the calls were made from an airphone that was in the back of the airplane where the crew had been pushed. Only two calls were made from cell phones. As the members on the plane made phone calls to their loved ones, they learned what happened at the twin towers and the pentagon. “And then we know that they've taken a vote for Flight 93 because they mentioned that in their phone calls to their loved one. And they decided that they're going to try to get into the cockpit door. There's about six folks. And in a similar way, we're getting ready to do it. It's happening. Everyone's running to first class. And there's two phone calls that are not hung up. They leave the phone on the seat intending to come back to their loved ones and let them know what they've accomplished aboard that airplane.” The passengers made a heroic attempt to reclaim the plane. During the struggle, the plane lost control and crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pa. Everyone on board were killed, however through the passenger's bravery, the prevented the hijackers from reaching their target. “The people aboard Flight 93 were just regular people. They were going to visit friends or go to a birthday party or travel and see national parks. And they're all traveling for very different reasons. And they find themselves in this extraordinary circumstance. And they didn't have to do anything. But through the phone calls that they make, they learn about what's going on. And they chose to do something. And that's the power I kind of really hope the next generation takes with us. And then also that, you know, just telling someone this story makes a difference, too. If you tell one person about what this incredible story does and means to a lot of other people, it continues that word-of-mouth association as well.”Support WITF: https://www.witf.org/support/give-now/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Meanwhile, residents of Longmont, Colorado heard an explosion in the skies overhead. Their windows rattled and they saw a bright ball of fire in the sky. They heard plane engines, even as they saw they saw those engines crashing to the ground below. Farmers and their families rushed to the site of the crash, but there was no way that they could know that this wasn't a tragic accident. In 1989, a month before his fourth birthday, the artist and photographer Trent Davis Bailey (our host, Spencer Bailey's, identical twin brother) lost his mother in the crash-landing of United Airlines Flight 232 in Sioux City, Iowa. Now 38 and a husband and father, Bailey is at work on “Son Pictures,” an ongoing series of photographs piecing together fragments of his family's past, including details of his mother's life and the relationship he was never able to develop with her. Leading him to take deep-dives into newspaper and family photo archives, and from Colorado to Iowa to the Adirondacks, the project serves as a microcosm of Bailey's intensely personal and place-based body of work, which continually seeks to unearth the tangled roots of his identity. This summer, Bailey's first-ever solo museum exhibition, “Personal Geographies,” opened at the Denver Art Museum, and this fall he will release the corresponding project, “The North Fork,” in book form. Bailey is also currently at work on “Son Pictures,” an ongoing series of photographs piecing together fragments of his family's past, part of which was recently published as a New York Times op-ed titled “What a Motherless Son Knows About Fatherhood.” Leading him to take deep-dives into newspaper and family photo archives, and from Colorado to Iowa to the Adirondacks, “Son Pictures” On this episode—his and Spencer's first formal “twinterview,” recorded on their 38th birthday—Bailey talks about what it was like to grow up as an identical twin; his unusual and decidedly dysfunctional upbringing; photography as a device for commemoration; and his deep pictorial explorations of the climates, geographies, and landscapes of the American West.Special thanks to our Season 8 sponsor, Van Cleef & Arpels.Show notes: [00:28] Trent Davis Bailey[09:58] “The North Fork” [10:02] “Personal Geographies” at the Denver Art Museum[10:12] “What a Motherless Son Knows About Fatherhood” [10:18] “Son Pictures”[11:54] Paonia, Colorado[17:37] Elsewhere Studios[20:10] California College of the Arts[20:22] Museum of Contemporary Photography's Snider Prize[20:28] Robert Koch Gallery[22:34] The Sublime[22:38] Shaun O'Dell[23:52] The Hotchkiss Crawford Historical Museum/Society[26:42] Robert Frank[26:53] Stephen Shore[26:55] Joel Sternfeld[28:27] “A Kingdom From Dust”[28:32] The California Sunday Magazine[28:36] Stewart Resnick[28:49] “Who Keeps Buying California's Scarce Water? Shaping Opinion

In this episode we hear from eight people who talked with Tim to answer the question, “Where were you on 9/11?" But the real focus of this episode is on you, your experience with 9/11.  Just as importantly, even if you were too young to remember or weren't even born yet, this episode is all about why 9/11 still matters to this day, even if you don't realize it. https://traffic.libsyn.com/secure/shapingopinion/Where_were_you_on_9-11_auphonic.mp3 It's now been 21 years since the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001. Last year's 20th anniversary activities are now behind us, and that pivotal moment in our history has returned to its trend of fading in the nation's memory. One thing we've done since the start of the Shaping Opinion podcast was to commit to doing our part to keep the memory of 9/11 alive. To remember those who died, those who survived, and those who tried to help. To remember the lessons of such a tragic event, and to teach new generations of the events and their lessons. Let's start this episode with a summary and a reminder of what happened that day. On a beautiful early fall morning, 19 terrorists from the extremist group al-Qaida implemented a plan to hijack four commercial aircraft and crash those planes into strategic targets. Those targets were the Pentagon, another site in Washington that no one would fully confirm at the time, and the World Trade Center's Twin Towers in New York City. The hijackers boarded planes at Logan Airport in Boston, Dulles Airport just outside of Washington, D.C., and Newark Airport in New Jersey. All four flights were scheduled to go to California. American Airlines Flight 11, left Boston with 74 passengers and a crew of 11. This included five hijackers including the leader of the operation. The plane was destined for Los Angeles, but it was the first of two planes to hit the World Trade Center towers. A second flight with hijackers aboard left Boston a little later. This was United Flight 175. It carried 56 passengers and nine crew members. Among those passengers were five hijackers. Not long after American Flight 11 hit the World Trade Center in New York, this flight, United 175, hit the other tower.  At 8:20 am, a third flight with hijackers aboard left Washington's Dulles Airport.  This was American Airlines Flight 77.  The plane had 64 people on board: a crew of six plus 58 passengers, including five terrorists. The plane flew west towards California, but then after the hijackers took control, it turned around, back towards Washington and headed for its target, the U.S. Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. By 9:45 a.m., American Flight 77 had hit the Pentagon, killing everyone on board, and causing death and destruction on the ground. Three planes had hit their targets, while a fourth plane was in the sky with hijackers aboard. It's United Airlines Flight 93 that had left Newark, New Jersey bound for San Francisco. It has 33 passengers and seven crew. The flight had been delayed 25 minutes from taking off. This gave passengers on Flight 93 time to learn what was happening and to mount their own counter attack. They did, and they foiled the hijackers' attempt to hit a fourth target. The common assumption now is that Flight 93 was set to hit the U.S. Capitol building. Instead, Flight 93 crashed into a field in Somerset County Pennsylvania.  This happened just before 10 a.m. that morning. Everyone on board was killed. Less than 10 minutes later at 10:05 a.m., the south tower of the World Trade Center collapsed, onto the street below. The collapse sent a volcanic cloud of dust and debris into the sky and down every street in the vicinity.  Then at 10:28 a.m., the north tower collapsed in just the same way. In the end, 2,996 people were counted as killed in the terrorist attacks. This included the 19 terrorist hijackers who are on those four aircraft. The people who died in New York, Washington, D.C.,
