Kṛṣṇa has already an intimate relationship with all living beings, because he's feeding them. Nityo nityānām cetanaś cetanānām eko bahūnām yo vidadhāti kāmān—He feeds everybody, and there's not one person you can find anywhere that doesn't have food available to him or her, because Krishna is all-powerful, and he's feeding every living being. But he wants more than that; not just this "supply and demand" because I'm hungry. He wants love, and he wants to extract the love that's dormant within the heart of every living being. Therefore, he sets up this elaborate ruse that he performs to demote Indra. That's just another reason that he performs the pastime. Indra became proud, and that's the death knell to bhakti. Pride comes in various forms, and one of them is entitlement. In fact, Yamunā Devī, one of the famous disciples of Śrīla Prabhupāda, preached heavily in her final days that we should beware of entitlement. That is, I think, because of my stature (whatever I may think that is), there are various ways we can get it into our head that we deserve more than others. Of course, there's etiquette, and we observe that; we're not communists. But if I have in my head that I deserve something, then it's very hard for me to appreciate anything. And this entitlement that pollutes the mind and consciousness had gotten into the mind and consciousness of Indra, and he thought, "I deserve that offering of the cowherd men." It's claimed the closure of a North Clare post office would sound the death knell for the community. An Post has advertised a vacancy in the Lisdoonvarna Post Office on two occasions to no avail and is currently advertising it for the third time. February 28th is the closing date for applications and information can be found on the An Post website. Local woman Marie Lynch says given the challenges faced by residents to keep the town up and running in recent years, closing the post office is unthinkable. Fine Gael Councillor Joe Garrihy has invited An Post's Regional Operations Manager to meet with the Lisdoonvarna Town Team next week in order to share more information about the vacant position. Councillor Garrihy says all the investment going into North Clare will be for nothing if its vital services are allowed to fall by the wayside.

Wall Street axioms can be fun, but remember that they're based on historical averages. Which brings up the January Barometer: As go the first five trading days of January, so goes the month; and as goes the month of January, so goes the year. Markets eked out a positive day on Wednesday to barely produce a positive string of five trading days. But anything can happen. One thing to be wary of: The 20-DMA is close to crossing the 50-DMA. Markets have been doing okay in a continuation of consolidating that began back in August, but the proximity of those two moving averages to one another is creating downward pressure on prices. If markets are going to move higher and produce a positive month, that needs to start on Friday.
