Hour 1 Kevin Clancy, KFC from Barstool Sports, is in for Boomer today. He's a huge Mets fan so Gio starts with the Mets offseason or lack thereof. We talked about Pete Alonso's future with the Mets. We also talked about Frank The Tank's Mets negativity. Mets fans were negative for so long in the Wilpon era and we all thought things would turn around in the Steve Cohen era. C-Lo is in for Jerry today and is here for his first update, but first we talked about how bad the new Fanatics/Nike uniforms are. The pants are see through, so you can see the tucked in jersey in the pants. C-Lo starts with Kodai Senga already experiencing arm fatigue in February. Evan Roberts was angry with the Mets and cannot say the word, ‘compartmentalize'. Rick Pitino finally apologized for calling out his players over the weekend.  Hour 2 Rob Saleh seems to have no control over his players on social media. Sauce Gardner is now calling himself, ‘LaSauce', and is playing GM. He is posting who he would be signing to the Jets if he were the GM. Kevin Clancy tells us he's not a big uniform guy and doesn't remember player numbers even the ones he's watched forever. We also talked about Gio's love of 1,000 lb Sisters. They also both love Love Is Blind. C-Lo returns for an update but first we talked about needing a colostomy bag. Gio thinks Kevin Ollie looks like an evil magician because of the mustache and thin face. Rick Pitino finally apologized for attacking his players and saying they can't move. Justin Fields explained why he unfollowed the Bears on Instagram. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Shane Gillis hosting SNL even though they fired him before he started working there.  Hour 3 Craig Carton reported that the thing going on with the Eagles locker room would fracture any relationship. Adam Schefter was on the radio in Philadelphia and pretty much said this is tabloid journalism. Kevin Clancy just remembered he forgot to tell his Mom he was hosting with Gio today. He also didn't tell her to turn the Mets game on when Johan Santana was throwing a no hitter. They also talked about what it's like when you first have children and how it changes your life. There should be some sort of test to be able to have children. A caller said he was playing craps in a casino in Florida and Eli Manning was right next to him at the next table. We also talked about Dana White betting an insane amount of money at the tables. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with Knicks injuries as we come out of the All Star break. Charles Barkley said of Kevin Durant, ‘Kevin's a follower, he's not a leader'. KD responded saying these guys on tv need to fill segments with negativity. Rick Pitino finally apologized for his comments over the weekend where he went after his players. We talked about Eddie going to sleep at 5pm during the week. Nick Saban is out of coaching but he doesn't want to stay home and just watch Netflix. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Dave Portnoy and his newly adopted dog, ‘Miss Peaches'. We cringed at his ‘Miss Peaches' voices that he uses to talk to her.  Hour 4 Scottie Pippen, Luc Longley, and Horace Grant are going on tour to dispute some of the things presented in The Last Dance documentary. They are calling it ‘The No Bull' Tour. We talked about friction when you're on a team like the Bulls experienced. It happened at Barstool and it has happened at WFAN over the years. Gio wonders who best stood up to Dave Portnoy over the years. Gio wonders if Portnoy likes to be challenged. C-Lo returns for his final update of the day and starts with the arm fatigue of Kodai Senga. And yes, arm fatigue in February. The Moment of The Day includes an older caller who wanted to be quizzed on Brooklyn Dodgers uniform numbers. In the final segment of the show, we get breaking news that David Stearns is going to address the media to talk about the Kodai Senga arm fatigue. That sounds like it's terrible news.

By Roger CormierI don't know what 2030 is going to look like. Mets owner Steve Cohen made his billions doing his darndest to predict what the stock market would do, so he would like to think he does know something about the future. Today, Cohen is a loser. The Mets were outbid by the Minnesota Twins. If thought of just this way, you would be thinking we must be in the past, the Wilpon era. I just know that today there is embarrassment. The Mets had an All-Star, a player proclaimed by Cohen himself to be the "missing piece" for three whole weeks. They let him get away. The truth is we don't know how this will ultimately play out. Maybe the Mets are right, and Correa's ankle is made of saltwater taffy, and he'll have an injury-plagued second half of his career. Maybe Correa will regret not taking the deal where he'd have to take a physical every year to keep his contract going. Maybe Brett Baty's ankle is made of Valyrian steel and he'll be a superstar. Maybe Eduardo Escobar will shake off his subpar 2022 and get back to hitting the way we know he can. Maybe the Mets will sign Manny Machado to play third next offseason (pending physical pending physical pending phy —). Maybe Machado will stink. It goes on and on. I just know about today. You can't win the World Series in the winter, but that's only true in the literal sense. I'm embarrassed and annoyed right now. It feels like the Mets blew it. The only guarantees we have about the future are that Steve Cohen is going to overreact and try to make another big splash and Gary Cohen will have something funny to say about this whole mishegas during the first Spring Training telecast.  This is a public episode. Welcome to UnforMETable, an Amazin' Avenue Audio show that looks back on less heralded, more obscure Mets players from the team past. As R.A. Dickey would a generation later, Terry Leach saw his future dream of major league glory seemingly disappear to the scourge of arm injuries, only to reinvent himself with a unique pitching style and a dogged determination to pitch in the major leagues and ultimately put pen to paper to eloquently write about the experience. Leach aced a tryout to earn a place in the Braves organization, where one of his coaches would suggest a sidearm approach to help compensate for his lost velocity. Leach would take to the style with aplomb, but was continually overlooked despite strong results. Released by the Braves, Leach would latch on with the Mets, where he would finally get major league opportunities—excelling when called upon, including an incredible 10 inning, one hit shutout in 1982—but would still be exiled to the minors when not needed. A contributor in 1985 who was appreciated by his teammates and his manager, Leach found little room on the mighty 1986 juggernaut, leading to a cheap Wilpon-ian World Series ring kerfuffle. But when injuries ravaged the 1987 squad, Leach took his opportunity and ran with it. And ran and ran and ran. Welcome to UnforMETable, an Amazin’ Avenue Audio show that looks back on less heralded, more obscure Mets players from the past. Let’s hop in the wayback machine all the way to the 2018 offseason, when new general manager Brodie Van Wagenen tried to put his mark on the team with some dramatic moves. After a major trade to acquire closer Edwin Diaz and second baseman Robinson Cano, the Mets tried to expand their offensive depth by signing veteran utility man Jed Lowrie. Lowrie’s two year contract was an endless string of mysterious leg injuries. The frustration of never seeing this acquisition take the field was only exacerbated by the organization’s opaque handling of the information regarding Lowrie’s condition. The frustration surrounding his Mets tenure seemed to provide an all-too appropriate coda to a strange 2020 baseball season and a frustrating Wilpon ownership tenure. This is a very special episode of the “Born in ‘87” Podcast. Steve Cohen has Mets fans as excited as we can ever remember. Part of that excitement also stems from the fact that the Wilpon’s no longer own the team. To partake in this excitement, we wanted to hear from the fans, so we brought on five diehard Mets fans to share one of their terrible Wilpon memories and then express why they are so excited for the Steve Cohen era. Justin and Adam share their memories at the top (0:10), then Travis Williams (18:30), Pat Milano (32:30), Alex Bigelisen (44:44), Ross Green (55:45) and Andrew Martini (1:11:12) all come on to kick dirt on the Wilpon’s one final time and share in the Steve Cohen excitement. We had a blast talking with Mets Nation, and if you are a Mets fan this is a must listen. Enjoy! Follow us on Twitter and Instagram @bornin87pod, bornin87pod@gmail.com, bornin87pod.com.

September has rolled around, and though we cannot have playoffs specific meaningful games in September, that doesn't mean things can't get exciting. We at A Metsian Podcast will always continue to watch through and through every September, because there is never short of things to see and talk about.  At 8:30 PM ET, Mike Lecolant and Rich Sparago will queue up the 19th episode of A Metsian Podcast with Sam, Rich & Mike. We will discuss the Mets West Coast trip and the successes on that round, as well as Noah Syndergaard‘s first career complete game.  Jacob deGrom broke Dwight Gooden's major-league record with his 25th consecutive start of giving up three earned runs or less. Is there anything else we can say about the man? Of course there is.  Zack Wheeler's ERA continues to go down.  The rotation has been pretty darn good lately, hasn't it?  It sounds like father and son Fred and Jeff are at odds about the type of GM we should have going forward. What would we like to see happen, now that we have that information out there? Who knows how true it is, but it's definitely something different we can talk about instead of our usual Wilpon's hateful bashing. And as always, we will look back in history at the Mets players to where number 19, as well as the 1919 New York Giants, Brooklyn Dodgers, and New York Yankees. So, make sure you join us at 8:30 PM ET for the latest addition of A Metsian Podcast with Sam Rich & Mike!
