Paola Miranda Rosa, 31, vanished from Wekiva Springs State Park on December 18, 2021. Last seen on a video created by an unnamed eyewitness, her car was found in the park despite initial denials by a ranger. The investigation by Osceola County Sheriff's Office was criticized for being inadequate, suggesting suicide or alligator attack with little evidence. Her family, unsatisfied, conducted their own searches, hired a PI, and is now pushing for FBI involvement, especially after the lead detective was added to a Brady list for misconduct. Paola remains missing, with her family advocating for further investigation. Stefanie was able to speak directly to the Miranda family. You won't believe what she found out. Sources: Munoz, L. Kim and Penn Holderness pulled on their Christmas Jammies 10 years ago and churned out a viral video many still remember a decade later. They teamed up with their two young kids, Lola and Penn Charles, to rap about all the things that made 2013 special for them. Today, they are still making videos, but they are also releasing books, games, and merch. While they did win the 33rd season of The Amazing Race in 2022, Kim says another round of reality TV is not on their short list. She said, “Maybe like if you needed really middle-aged comedy, like the Golden Survivor. Also, if I needed to get trim really quick for an event.” But, she and Penn are game for sharing their family experiences in a fun and relatable way. “I think a lot of people make content that shows how funny they are, how great their life is, but as a viewer watching it, what's in it for me, that you're funny? No, I would prefer like make me laugh, show me something that I can relate to, make me feel something,” Kim said. She said News 6 helped shape her creative process. “I would say I learned a lot from our news director at WKMG, when I was there. His name was Skip Valet. When I was there for the afternoon pitch meeting, you had to walk in with three ideas. And if you didn't have an idea, (he would say) you need to take another way in to work.” And after making a pitch Kim said, “He would always kinda answer back like, ‘why would a viewer care about this story you just pitched.'” In addition to nailing the creative process, Kim and Penn bring a lot of raw talent to their content. Kim was trained in dance and Penn is a musician. But, even with all of that working in their favor, Penn said the duo threw a lot of spaghetti at the wall to see what would stick. Every video didn't go viral, but their success is evident. They currently have their own website, have nearly 5 million followers on Facebook, amassed nearly 18 million likes on TikTok, and are releasing a new book called “ADHD is Awesome.” Kim says Penn's book, “Is written for and by an ADHD brain.” The duo already has a game available at stores but said they hope to have another one available on Amazon by Black Friday. They also have taken up pickleball and are now offering a line of paddles online. They aren't alone in their success. Kim said their kids are very busy, but they are still active in some of their videos and have been making money with them since their original Christmas Jammies video went viral. Meet Ginger Gadsden and Dr. Donovan Myrie, who initially embarked on separate paths in college but found themselves drawn to the captivating world of television. Little did they know that their individual journeys would intersect and lead them down a shared road of love and matrimony. Along the way, Donovan achieved the remarkable feat of earning a PhD and writing a book titled The 9/11 Project: A Journalist's Perspective—a tale in itself worth exploring. Ginger, on the other hand, attributes her fulfilling life and career to the values instilled from her upbringing as one of 15 children. Amidst the laughter and lightheartedness, she candidly admitted her occasional desire for anchors to possess the ability to rewind and redo—an aspiration that resonates with many of us.Prepare yourself for an engaging experience as we delve into the lives of these extraordinary journalists. WENDESDAY HR 4 Monster Sports - World Series. NBA Orlando Magic Matt Austin from WKMG in studio. Shares with the guys what it's like to go viral protecting his daughters.
Josh Elledge is a nice Midwestern boy from Michigan who relocated to Orlando so he could take his kiddos to Disney more often. Fun fact. Josh also used to be fat. Not just chubby, or the owner of a now-trendy “dad bod,” but seriously overweight (ask to see his old drivers' license photo). Ever the problem solver, he lost 55 lbs through ‘the couponing diet.' His other company, SavingsAngel helped make that happen. More on that later. He now enjoys going to restaurants that serve chicken waffles and biscuits, and ordering the salad… just to test his mental toughness. Josh is a serial entrepreneur who builds the companies he needs most in the world. In 2014, He launched UpMyInfluence to help entrepreneurs like himself attract the perfect audiences and grow their brands without the crazy costs and contracts associated with traditional marketing methods. UpMyInfluence (UMI) is a purpose-driven company focused on helping high-ticket agencies, coaches, consultants, and other B2B service providers skyrocket their sales through: authority, platform, and leading with generosity. Josh wholeheartedly believes UMI has a moral imperative to help entrepreneurs own their expertise, share their wisdom, and serve the world with their collective messages. In 2019, Josh and the team discovered something big… REALLY big. They created a B2B Sales System for themselves that worked so well… clients started asking for sales help in addition to all the PR help. Their first B2B sales client scored six figures in sales… in 90 days (with no paid ads)! Thinking it may have been dumb luck… they tried it again. BAM! Another six figures in sales in about 90 days (with no paid ads). UMI was the natural outgrowth of his first startup, SavingsAngel.com. Josh founded the consumer savings platform in 2007 to bring in what he most needed at the time (namely, more money). Armed with a background in information technology and Internet development, Josh's technologic tinkering cut his family-of-five's monthly grocery bill by half and created the most comprehensive coupon and sale-matching service available. SavingsAngel.com soon become a major operation employing up to 50 employees and grossing more than $6 million in sales with (I lied – THIS is the last time I say this) NO paid ads. When other entrepreneurs began knocking on his door desperate for the magic formula that would bring similar success, his new mission in life was born! Today, Josh is known as one of the foremost experts in online influence and authority. He's personally worked with thousands of entrepreneurs – working to turn them into media celebrities and successfully growing their B2B sales systems. Never shy in front of an audience, Josh is a frequent speaker at business and startup conferences including Social Media Marketing World and a Tony Robbins special invite event for his Business Mastery grads. He's appeared as an electrifying podcast guest more than 200 times. He's a regular consumer expert on Fox 35 Orlando< WKMG, and News 13, writes a syndicated column for nine newspapers (with total readership above 1.1 million readers), and regularly appears on more than 75 TV stations across the country. All told, Josh has appeared in the media (way) more than 2000 times. Passionate about his family, physical fitness (an avid fitness geek and 5K to marathon runner), and breaking out of Escape Rooms, Josh lives in Orlando with his wife and three children. Ask how many escape rooms he's gotten out of. Seriously… #ESCAPEROOMNERD The Michigan native's exuberance and natural curiosity have fueled his life's work as a journalist, technology specialist, entrepreneur and service-oriented family man. Josh served in the US Navy and earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Family Sciences. Josh also wants the public to know he thinks Daylight Savings Time (and time zones, for that matter) are a relic. https://upmyinfluence.com/about-josh-elledge/ (https://upmyinfluence.com/about-josh-elledge/)...
A 30-year-old mother was arrested and charged with taping three children to chairs and a wall after they allegedly took food without permission. According to WKMG-TV, on Aug. 12, Department of Children and Families investigators informed Daytona Beach police that Ymani Bain allegedly taped the children as a form of punishment. According to the children's father, on the weekend of August 6 and 7, Bain tied their hands and the entire body of one child with tape and placed them "in the wall" after they took a "moon pie without permission." Frances Chew, the children's grandmother, allegedly provided the tape for Bain to use in carrying out the punishment. According to WKMG, Chew and Bain both denied the allegations. Chew allegedly did nothing to stop the child abuse and even encouraged her daughter not to stop. The children told authorities that "one of them was taped to the wall and two others were taped to chairs," according to WESH-TV. According to court records, Bain was arrested and booked into the Volusia County Jail on Tuesday, Aug. 23, for aggravated child abuse. She is still being held on a $15,000 bond. The grandmother was arrested and charged with child abuse before being released on her own recognizance, according to reports. Bain was charged with child abuse and neglect in 2019, according to WESH, but the charges were reduced and she served probation on a misdemeanor. According to reports, the children were removed from the home and placed with relatives. If you like TRUE CRIME TODAY - Be sure to search and subscribe wherever you download podcasts! And that is a daily practice in combating because it involves limiting beliefs, it involves past experiences; that internal negative chattering dialogue that, if we are not careful, can self-sabotage our future.” [2:02] “The best way to monitor your thinking is to write it down – to keep a journal. You'd be surprised what your thoughts are when you really start to become aware of them. Earlier this year, Venus was in the spotlight because a group of international scientists said they found something peculiar in the Venusian clouds, the discovery would lead to new interest and excitement about potential robotic missions to Earth’s nearest neighbor. A study published in the journal Nature Astronomy reported a potential bio signature, or something that might indicate life is present, had been found in the clouds of Venus. The team of astronomers, led by Professor Jane Greaves of Cardiff University, said they had found a gas called phosphine in the clouds of Venus. It was a big deal because this particular kind of gas is thought to be made in only a few ways on rocky planets and those usually involve life. But then things got complicated. This week on WKMG and Graham Media's Space Curious podcast, National Geographic contributor Nadia Drake and Johns Hopkins University planetary scientist Dr. Sarah Horst help break down this complicated topic and what it takes to confirm great discoveries.
This year has been awful for a lot of reasons: a global pandemic, racial injustice, wildfires and the list goes on but an asteroid crashing into Earth will not be the cherry on top of humanity’s punishment. Simply put, we won’t be going out with a bang this year, 2020 rages on. In this week’s episode of WKMG’s podcast Space Curious planetary scientists help explain how we know where asteroids are and why we’re not all going to get squashed by one this year or anytime soon.

Billionaire and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is getting closer with every launch to providing internet to the world-- including remote communities-- by using a fleet of thousands of satellites. BUT he’s not alone, Amazon, Samsung and other private companies plan to follow his lead. And that means low-Earth orbit is about to get even more crowded. In the latest episode of Space Curious, we’ll look at what massive constellations of satellites will mean for our view of the night sky, the research of astronomers who study it and what companies like SpaceX are doing to help mitigate these issues. Emilee Speck is the host of Space Curious. Upcoming Rocket Launches - https://www.kennedyspacecenter.com/launches-and-events/events-calendar?pageindex=1 TRANSCRIPT: EMILEE: My name is Emilee Speck. I'm a space reporter and digital journalist for WKMG in Orlando, Florida and I host Space Curious. ZAK: In her personal and professional life. Emilee has gone to a ton of rocket launches. And she has some advice for you in case you're gonna go to one, which is possible in a handful of states. Or if you're just gonna watch it online. EMILEE: If you've never been to a launch before. The number one thing you need to do it put your phone down. Don't record it with your phone. Just watch it and be amazed. 3, 2, 1, 0 and LIFTOFF! And the other thing I would do if you're gonna watch it in person is watch it with other people. In particular watch it with kids. Watching a launch with a child especially with one who has never seen a launch before is the best experience. Kids are just, they're just us and they're little and they just don't contain their excitement and they get so excited. Some of the favorite video that I've ever seen covering a launch is watching kids react to the rocket. They're just absolute freaking amazed. It is so cool. If you're trying to watch a launch online, my advice, and this is what I did the other day because during the Coronavirus, I haven't been able to cover as many launches in person. So I will put the launch feed up on my tv in my living room and that's kind of the best thing that you can do. It's amazing. And turn the sound way up. hahaha. Yeah. Cause the booster, the launch, the rumble...it's way, way better in person but sometimes the live streams will do a good job as well. ZAK: And for those of us who haven't witnessed a launch, like, what is it that's so amazing to you about it? EMILEE: If you're watching it in person, just the feeling of knowing that something that we made here is leaving earth, because that's really freaking hard to do. ZAK: If you want to attend a rocket launch in person or online, you can go to the link I posted in our show notes from Kennedy Space Center to see their launch schedule. Emilee Speck is the host of the new podcast, Space Curious. And full disclosure, I edit that show. It's totally worth checking out. I didn't care much about space when I started hte project with her and now she's convinced me that it's amazing and there's so much to learn. Each episode she answers a different listeners' question, like "where does all the space junk go?" How did the International Space Station get assembled in the first place? Stuff like that. Find it wherever you listen to podcasts. You've been listening to The Best Advice Show, I'm Zak Rosen. If you have some advice I would love to hear it. The hotline number is 844-935-BEST. That's 844-935-BEST.
This week’s Florida’s Fourth Estate guest is Emilee Speck, the host of WKMG’s new podcast called Space Curious. We often take for granted the modern miracle known as the International Space Station. It’s basically a six-bedroom house the length of an American football field and has been floating 200 miles above the Earth for more than two decades. So, it came as a bit of a surprise when a young person in the newsroom asked Speck, how the space station got up there. The result: the first episode of a brand-new WKMG podcast focused on answering your space questions called “Space Curious.” How do you get your hair cut in space? How do the Russians and Americans get along so well in space, while we have so much drama down here on Earth? Have the astronauts ever seen a UFO? We discuss these questions and more with Emilee Speck on this episode of Florida's Fourth Estate. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
