In this episode, the hosts compare Christianity with other major religions using five key areas: Work, Worship, Word, Warfare, and Wedlock. They explain how different beliefs view God, salvation, truth, spiritual warfare, and marriage, while highlighting what sets biblical Christianity apart. The central message is that salvation is found through Jesus Christ alone, encouraging believers to know God's Word, discern truth, and avoid deception.

This week we welcome Lewis Wedlock to discuss his work as a ‘masculinities educator' with young people in schools in Bristol and across the country. In our age of controversial 'hypermasculine' online influencers – perhaps most famously, Andrew Tate – this can be an eye-opening experience, to put it mildly. Of course the ‘manosphere' of which Tate is part has broken massively into the wider consciousness recently. Last year the hard-hitting Netflix drama Adolescence went viral, followed just a few weeks ago by Louis Theroux' documentary Inside the Manosphere. Many people – including Lewis – questioned whether that film should have done more to challenge the men making a fortune out of packaging idealised, unobtainable and sometimes toxic versions of masculinity on social media and podcasts. People outside of that world – and especially parents of boys – can find it both terrifying and bewildering, in terms of its appeal. So this week we're seeking to get into why it's so attractive and what its impact is. We'll ask be exploring what Lewis – who has a book out, called Masculinity in Schools – believes a more positive vision of masculinity can look like. The Bristol Cable is Bristol's community-owned cooperative newsroom – fiercely independent journalism that puts people before profit. This week on The Higher Love with Megan Podcast, we're doing something a little different.Instead of one full guest conversation, this episode is a special compilation — a collection of snippets from recent podcast episodes, all centred around one simple but very important question: What brings you hope at this time?Because let's be honest… the world is A LOT right now and when you're paying attention, hope can be hard to hold onto. This episode is a gentle offering — a reminder that hope doesn't have to be loud or perfect to matter. Sometimes it lives in community, in truth-telling, in resistance, in young people, in imagination, and in the small everyday things that keep us connected to our humanity. You'll hear reflections from my guests so far in 2026, a mix of educators, activists, storytellers, and change-makers — each sharing what's helping them stay grounded, open, and connected in these times.Chapters:00:00 Introduction04:17 Zack Alexander – spiritual guide supporting deeper connection and meaning08:15 Lewis Wedlock – masculinities educator working with young people in schools11:13 Andrew “Bernie” Bernard – educator exploring healthy masculinities in schools15:32 Mindset with Muhammad – decolonial storyteller and educator challenging dominant narratives20:18 Leah Kim – storyteller and writer exploring identity, motherhood, and truth-telling23:39 Viv Grant – founder of Integrity Coaching, supporting school leaders and equity in education24:42 Kaia Allen-Bevan – activist and founder of Youth The Gap, amplifying youth voice and social change26:36 OutroKey Themes: - Hope in difficult times- Community, resistance, and collective care- Young people, change, and possibility- The role of truth-telling and imagination- What keeps us connected to humanityAs you listen, you might also ask yourself: What brings ME hope at this time?If this episode resonates, I'd love for you to share it with someone who might need it.And if you've been enjoying the podcast, leaving a rating, review, or recommendation really helps more people find these conversations and supports the show more than you probably realise.

This week I am joined by masculinities educator Lewis Wedlock. Together we explore the complexities of masculinity, the impact of patriarchy, and the importance of self-care in activism. Lewis discusses the roots of his advocacy for men's wellbeing and the need to address systemic issues like misogyny and violence against women. We delve into the 'Not All Men' debate, emphasising the importance of accountability and the need for men to engage in conversations about masculinity, feminism and equity in order for us to build better communities and better futures.Chapters00:00 Introduction to Lewis Wedlock01:26 Lewis's Journey into Masculinities Education06:34 Understanding the Impact of Patriarchy07:14 The Role of Men in Addressing Loneliness09:48 Exploring Hyper-Patriarchy and Its Effects12:13 Navigating Pushback in Conversations15:02 Creating Safe Spaces for Discussion16:05 The 'Not All Men' Debate20:41 Embracing Complexity in Masculinity26:14 Encouraging Men to Step Up30:20 Confronting Bias and Discomfort31:39 Creating Safety in Conversations33:54 Addressing Violence Against Women39:50 Navigating Masculinity and Feminism50:02 Sustaining Hope in Activism54:08 Resources for Further Learning59:00 OutroAbout LewisLewis Wedlock is a masculinities educator specialising in person centered, culturally attuned deliveries and interventions. Nathan and Ryan lock in to Wedlock (1991), a gritty sci-fi action thriller where prison reform means strapping explosive collars to inmates and pairing them off in deadly “marriages.” Starring Rutger Hauer, Mimi Rogers, and Joan Chen, the film blends cyberpunk aesthetics, high-concept dystopian ideas, and early-'90s action cheese. The hosts break down the movie's wild premise, its surprisingly prescient tech paranoia, and whether Wedlock works better as science fiction or as a pulpy B-movie thriller. It's love, loyalty, and head-popping consequences—Drive-In style.
We're back and Digging into 2026! We are starting off the year with a double length episode, "Duggars Down the Aisle." Those clever folks at TLC got us though, it's the wedding of Priscilla and David Waller. It's so unfortunate that the first episode of the year has so much Pest in it. He turns the smug up to 11. Since he is married already, he feels as though he has some sort of wisdom/judgement to impart. This entire episode felt like a lovefest for David Waller, but stay tuned, next week we will shed light on why. We do get a lot of IBLP "humor" which usually means, second hand embarrassment as well. LEWIS TEAGUE'S Scifi spacejail movie stars rutger hauer as a very sleepy man who does not want to be in the movie Wedlock.
It's Friday, August 1st, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Christians evicted from their homes in Chhattisgarh, India Three years ago, Manu, a 37-year-old day laborer in Chhattisgarh, India, came to faith in Jesus after experiencing a miraculous healing. Then, roughly two months ago, he started to pay a price for his Christian faith, reports International Christian Concern. Manu said, “I was thrown out of my house because I follow Jesus.” He is one of the hundreds of Christians who have been evicted from their homes and banned from their villages in Chhattisgarh because of their faith in Christ. Hindu nationalists, who want India to be a purely Hindu nation, are increasingly forcing Christians to become homeless and destitute. The goal of the violent attacks is to force the believers to return to Hinduism. Manu, his wife, and their two children have taken shelter in a temporary bamboo shed since May 21. He said, “My children are getting sick ever since we moved into this shed. The small bamboo shed does not protect us from rain, wind, and extreme weather conditions. This shed was used as a chicken shed prior to our occupation, with no facilities for people to live.” The persecution didn't end with the family losing their property. Hindu villagers also shunned the family, preventing them from purchasing products from certain vendors and hindering Manu from securing employment. When asked what keeps him from giving up on his faith, Manu explained, “Jesus gave me life, He gave me peace, and I am willing to make any sacrifice and bear all these hardships. I know it's all worth it.” In John 10:10, Jesus said, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” House Speaker: Democrats never mentioned Epstein files during Biden's term Appearing with Family Research Council President Tony Perkins on Saturday's “This Week on Capitol Hill,” House Speaker Mike Johnson explained that the Democrats are using the Epstein files as a wedge issue. JOHNSON: “The Democrats have been engaging in a civil war. They're trying to determine if they're going to go full Marxism, like with [Zohran] Mamdani, their nominee for mayor of New York City, or if they're going to go Marxism Light with their woke progressive nonsense that they tried to hoist upon the people for the last four years. So, they found a wedge issue trying to manufacture some controversy with the so-called Epstein files. Here's the problem they have, Tony, with their hypocrisy. It's quite laughable. “Remember, the Biden Department of Justice had all of these files in their possession for the previous four years. Not one time did [House Minority Leader] Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) or Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), or Jim McGovern (D-Mass.), or any of the Democrats who made so much noise over the last two weeks, not one time in the last four years that they mention the word Epstein at all. It's nowhere in their social media and their interviews or anything. And now, suddenly, it's the most important thing in the world. “We're not buying it, and I'm not going to allow them to drag the Congress into this. “The House Republicans are 100 percent united and 100 percent consistent, as we have been for many years regarding this matter. We want full transparency, total disclosure of all credible evidence. We want to and we must protect the innocent victims of those unspeakable crimes, trafficking and all the rest that were involved there. But it needs to be done in the right way.” The audacity of the Democrats surprises even House Speaker Johnson. JOHNSON: “They're trying to claim that this is some sort of cover-up. Remember, each of them were involved in orchestrating what was the largest political cover-up and political scandal in the history of the United States. And that was covering up for the rapid mental decline of the previous occupant of the White House. When Joe Biden was no longer fit to serve, they went out and tried to convince us of the opposite -- very, very dangerous stuff. They need to answer for that, and there needs to be a lot of accountability all the way around. And House Republicans are the ones urging that and pushing it along with every tool in our arsenal.” American Academy of Pediatrics says Trisomy 13 and 18 are not 'uniformly lethal' The American Academy of Pediatrics has released new guidance stating that the genetic disorders Trisomy 13 and 18 are not "uniformly lethal" and the practice of promoting abortion and "postnatal comfort care" for all children with the conditions is outdated, reports The Christian Post. The guidance, published July 21, notes the "steady increase in medical and surgical interventions for infants and children with trisomy 13 and 18.” The medical organization described the conditions as "chromosomal syndromes associated with a range of congenital anomalies and universally severe neurodevelopmental impairment." The American Academy of Pediatrics noted that about 12.3 percent of those with Trisomy 18 survive beyond their fifth birthday and 9.7 percent of children with Trisomy 13 survive as well. U.S. divorce and out-of-wedlock births are becoming less common The Institute for Family Studies is reporting that after many decades of increasing divorce, nonmarital childbearing, and children living in broken homes, current statistics show that the trends are either leveling off or reversing, reports The Washington Stand. The group notes that the largest shift has become apparent with divorce. After reaching a peak in the late '70s and early '80s, “the divorce rate has been falling in recent decades,” currently hitting a 50-year low. Divorce is less likely because “marriage has become more selective, with more educated, affluent, and religious couples becoming more likely to put a ring on it than the general population.” The Institute for Family Studies further observed that according to the most recent projections, the risk of first marriages ending in divorce is now around 40 percent, a significant drop from couples who married in the '80s and '90s, of whom 50 percent experienced divorce. Malachi 2:16 says, God “hates divorce.” Another factor contributing to more intact families is that the amount of children being born to unmarried women has leveled off. Children born out of wedlock peaked in 2009 and has plateaued ever since, remaining at roughly 40 percent over the last 15 years. Transgender Lady Liberty stirs debate at Smithsonian And finally, Amy Sherald is a 51-year-old woke artist who became famous for depicting the Statue of Liberty as black and transgender, reports Christian talk show host Todd Starnes. She also created a rendition of the famous World War Two Times Square kiss featuring two homosexual black men. And Sherald earned national acclaim for painting the official portrait of former First Lady Michelle Obama. What an unusual combination – transgender statues, homosexual black men, and Michelle Obama. The National Portrait Gallery alerted the artist that they might remove her painting of “Transgender Lady Liberty” over fears it might anger President Donald Trump. Sherald accused the Smithsonian of censorship and pulled out of the exhibit. The White House, which believed that the painting all but desecrated one of our most sacred symbols, celebrated the development as a step toward restoring sanity in the taxpayer-funded art world. Starnes concluded, “The only person censoring Sherald's exhibit is in fact Sherald. And Lady Liberty is meant to inspire national unity – not pronoun confusion.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Friday, August 1st, in the year of our Lord 2025. Thoughts for Singles about Finding a Spouse Think Wisely about Marriage Genesis 2 - not good for the man to be alone Hebrews 13:4 - marriage is honorable Honorable means valuable; of great price; precious (minerals or diamonds) Brad Wilcox, professor of Sociology at U of Virginia Get Married: Why Americans Must Defy the Elites, Forge Strong Families; and Save Civilization Marriage binds men to the children they father. It stabilizes the romantic relationships of adults and the family lives of children. It bridges the gender divide between men and women; endows the lives of women and especially men with a deeper sense of meaning, direction, and solidarity; and, above all, provides the ideal context for the bearing and rearing of children. Marriage is certainly the “keystone institution” for our nation. At the civilizational level, this institution has, across the course of American history, promoted prosperity and reduced the risk of widespread poverty at both the state and national levels. It has reinforced the rule of law and minimized the risk of crime and mass disorder. It has boosted the physical health and emotional well-being of the general population. It has maximized the odds that children across the country are happy, healthy, and well prepared to take their place as virtuous citizens in our civilization. For all these reasons, married families maximize the odds that ordinary men, women, and children succeed at that quintessential American quest, “the pursuit of happiness.” Stay away from those who are unBiblical One of the most influential leaders for the young men of our country Wedlock is designed to control the peasantry. It's a concerning figure - but many parents are purposefully co-parenting without getting married

This week on the SSPX Podcast we address the sensitive topic of pregnancies out of wedlock. These occurrences, though hopefully rare, do happen and Catholics should know how to address them prudently and in the light of Catholic moral teaching. Moreover, out-of-wedlock pregnancies raise a host of questions, with the most prevalent being, “Must the father and mother of the child enter into marriage?” This was the main question from a listener which sparked this episode. But Father Ian Palko and I will dive into some connected questions as well; concerning the relationship between unwed parents, their respective roles in a child's life, and how we as Christians ought to treat them and their situation.View on YouTube: https://youtu.be/cpt5nwywujA Support the SSPX Podcast with 1-time or Monthly Donation >>Questions with Father full series: https://sspxpodcast.com/digital-dangers/View all our episodes, including the Crisis in the Church Series >>Subscribe to the SSPX YouTube channel here >>SSPX News Website: https://fsspx.news/enVisit the US District website: https://sspx.org/en What is the SSPX Podcast? The SSPX Podcast is produced by Angelus Press, which has as its mission the fortification of traditional Catholics so that they can defend the Faith, and reaching out to those who have not yet found Tradition. What is the SSPX?The main goal of the Society of Saint Pius X is to preserve the Catholic Faith in its fullness and purity, to teach its truths, and to diffuse its virtues, especially through the Roman Catholic priesthood.Authentic spiritual life, the sacraments, and the traditional liturgy are its primary means of bringing this life of grace to souls.Although the traditional Latin Mass is the most visible and public expression of the work of the Society, we are committed to defending Catholic Tradition in its entirety: all of Catholic doctrine and morals as the Church has always defended them. What people need is the Catholic Faith, without compromise, with all the truth and beauty which accompanies it.https://sspx.org
