Hey there! Thanks for listening today as we wrap up the year on Fear Free Launches! This has a been a packed year in the world of Kim Ransom both personally and with all my business endeavors and activities. As I sat down to write out my outline for the episode, I made a list of some “wins and losses” and I have to admit, I had some feelings after seeing the whole year on paper. I don’t know about you but I don’t often stop to really take an inventory of what I’ve accomplished. You HAVE to celebrate the victories along the way because all of those things are what make up your personal version of success and life fulfillment. Ya know?  This past year saw some amazing wins which include: launched some some businesses launched this podcast paid off all of my student loans (Episodes 22 & 23) had our best gymnastics year  gotten involved in awesome community initiatives  traveled Now, I’m not going to spend too much time on the losses, but they are worth mentioning. I only have two real LOSSES. I mean, these two items DO have silver linings FOR SURE, but overall, they are the biggest sources of discomfort that I remember from this year. What will I change for 2020?  I plan on zeroing in on my focus and spending my time wisely.  I want to deepen my connections both business-wise and personally.  There are also a couple of mindset changes I will make that I know will serve me well in 2020. How I Paid Off $90k of Student Loans in 20 Months Part 2

Part 2 of this informational series gives you specific steps for how to allocate funds to debt when paying off student loan debt. On this episode, we go over the 3 prong approach I used to decide which loans to pay off first (spoiler: it wasn’t just the interest rate). But guys, let’s not overcomplicate this. At the core of it, I made a plan and I attacked it. It was aggressive. It was frustrating at times. It was boring. I wanted to go shopping. Follow along as I break down how I achieved the payoff goal. Please go back and listen to Episode 22- Part 1 of this series where I cover all of the prep work and planning I did before I even looked at my numbers. After you’ve set yourself up with systems and a safety net to guarantee success here, you’ll also want to check on a few other things. Don’t forget to: Choose the right repayment plan for your short term, aggressive goals Take advantage of the auto-pay features for your focus, clarity and credit health Change the settings with your lenders to specify where you want the extra money to go Create your spreadsheet with all of the pertinent info you will need to manage your plan Educate yourself on interest accrual and capitalization And finally, we chit chat about some ways you can keep control of your loans while you are in school and before they grow to an astronomical situation that eats all your cash. Education is worth so much more than just the paper you achieve at the end. However, we need to keep in mind that education is not free and that we must bear the responsibility of our choices, even if those choices were 20 years ago. With proper planning and self-discipline, anyone can create a huge dent in the debt repayment and thus create more freedom in their lives. If I can do it, YOU can do, friends! I’d love to hear your student loan stories and field some questions on this topic. Please reach out to me on any of the channels below! Find us at: www.kimberlyransom.com Instagram: www.instagram.com/fearfreelaunches And Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fearfreelaunches/       Applying Money to Debt Steps:   Ways to avoid a crazy high balance after you’re out of school….BEST TIP- Check your mindset. CONNECT YOUR LIFE TO THE GOAL. Understand how it will limit your life and what freedoms having this debt it will take away. SCHOOL IS NOT FREE. Don’t give yourself the option to NOT pay the interest BEFORE your payments are due (while you’re in school). This avoids capitalization, or paying interest on interest. Obviously, paying any more than the interest is great. Autopay the interest- most times, lowers your interest rate and also protects your credit, lets you focus on other things. Any system is a good system. Understand the payment options and set yourself up aggressively to begin with. You can always adjust with life but if your goal is to pay these off the fastest and with the least amount of cost, make sure you aren’t just looking for the lowest monthly payment. They are not all set up to help you succeed. Some of them are set up only to keep your credit in check while you’re getting through the struggle but it WILL cost you more (balance will actually go UP with each payment). Income based- public sector vs private sector- private: costs me more, manageable monthly in the short term but costs me more money in the long run. Public: good because of Loan Forgiveness program. Saves him money. Forbearance and deferment should be LAST resort. They will cost you MORE if you don’t pay the interest although though it may give you a temporary break. Besides, if you’re already out of school, that ship has sailed. Today I break down information and pass it along in bite size steps that anyone can digest and use to pay off that nasty student loan debt. Get your notebook because the there is a TON of information here! This episode covers: Taking 100% accountability for paying off the loans Prepping for an aggressive payoff plan Identifying and planning for obstacles ahead of time Setting up systems to keep you on track Generating and assigning income Using silos of income and to free up extra funds for your plan Do not skip over the prep work. I repeat- DO NOT SKIP THE PREP WORK. Even if you apply your money following the steps I’m giving you in Part 2, I promise that you will fall off the wagon if you don’t do your homework first. It’s so easy to get resentful and start missing all of the things you used to spend your money on (i.e. instant gratification) and quit before you reach your goal. Are you stuck? Maybe you feel conflicted, held back but not sure why…check your Imposter Syndrome, friends. This week we break down some common characterizations of Imposter Syndrome. That is, a collection or limiting beliefs we have about ourselves. They allow us to make excuses, procrastinate and avoid dealing with our inner conflicts. When I’m feeling limited, I get quiet. I listen to the birds chirping, notice the feelings of frustration, let them pass and then listen even harder. What are the voices in my head telling me? Do you hear these voices? When I have achieved “fill in the blank”, then I’ll be good enough to start. I’m not “fill in the blank” enough. I’m not as good as that person. I don’t have enough “fill in the blank” to do that. I’m not experienced enough. I don’t have enough degrees/sales/talent/experience/connections/whatever. Sooner or later someone will find out I’m not “fill in the blank” enough. I feel like a sham. Yes? Well, you may be suffering from a good case of Imposter Syndrome. In this episode, we break down some common characterizations we find when we deal with this phenomenon. It has been said that 70% of people find themselves in one of these buckets at some point over their career. Do any of these resonate with you? The Perfectionist/Burnout- If it’s not perfect, it’s not worth anything. Often have a hard time delegating and letting others help us. People with these tendencies and behaviors are the ones who burn out the quickest. The Martyr- Are you a workaholic? People with these tendencies can grow addicted to the validation of the “hustle”. It’s a dangerous cycle that never ends. The (un)Natural- You think you need to have a certain level of natural ability to put yourself out there. You cheat yourself out of the journey of becoming great. The Expert- If you aren’t the number one sought after professional in your field, you aren’t worth crap. Well, that’s crap. You will always be an expert to someone….as long as you START! The Tupperware Lady- Labels. Compartments. Lids. Sizes. Fitting things into spaces and putting them away. We are our own worst Tupperware Lady, selling ourselves stories, lies and boxes for ourselves we don’t need. Leave that in the 80’s too. So, I hope you’re on your way to a new, kinder, more adventurous and hopeful path for yourself. I hope that you find courage in your current situation and whatever your circumstances are, that you cut yourself some slack and just get started making some positive changes in your life- because you ARE good enough and you ARE ready. Just a warning, friends- this episode contains explicit language and sexual content that may not be safe for work. This week we have our first duo interview! I have to say, Florence and Reed from Come Curious YouTube channel and the F**ks Given podcast were a major score for me on my Dream Guest list. I owe them a HUGE one for agreeing to come on this podcast. They were so generous with their time and spared nothing on divulging information. Florence and Reed (or, Reed and Florence) are massive hustlers from the London area. They are groundbreaking sex educators in the UK and are working hard to create a new space in the sexual health and education industry. I found them one day when I was doing some research on British podcasts and let me tell you…I BINGED on their episodes. Once I really discovered what their mission was and saw how they were affecting their followers around the globe, I knew I wanted to get their business story. Because we know that everyone is a business, as I was listening to their podcasts, I always wondered about the behind the scenes production. Do they have management? How do their partners feel about their work? Do they get along all the time? Are they monetizing? What re their dream projects? Do they have a community of others working in the same niche over there? Lucky for us, they obliged all of my juicy questions and here we are. I can’t say enough how impressed I am with their ability to convey relatable stories that break down barriers and help shed stigmas. I love that they give glimpses into the lives of people who are brave enough to let the world in on things like living with common STDs, talking about how uncomfortable they were or are with their body, stories of awkward first times and general sex and health tips. Their work normalizes common bodily functions, bust myths, and encourages other key players in the sex-ed field to keep producing important work. I will warn you though, I’m giving you a PG summary. This is not a podcast I’d sit and listen to with my grandma. I mean, only because my grandma is not that progressive (but if yours is, that’s amazing). I want to give a huge thank you once again to Florence and Reed for being willing to pull back the curtains on their channels. In Episode 17, I’m taking a little trip down Memory Lane as I reflect on the past decade of business errors. What fun! I break down some hard lessons learned so you avoid the same waste of resources that I went through. All of my mistakes and choices have led me to where I am today and I am happy to share them with you this week! This episode breaks down some errors in the areas of: Outsourcing Hiring Branding Strategic Planning When I was in the beginning stages of my second gym facility, I was hyper-focused on being efficient with my time and offloading administrative tasks. As I looked at ways to move into the CEO role and build a team, I was also looking for ways to delegate and offload jobs. My experience with outsourcing was a bumpy road. I learned about managing vendors and partners and how to get the best out of the relationship, as well as a return on my investment. Boy was that a road with some heartaches! Aside from outsourcing, I really had to look at the way I was hiring employees. Going through growth spurts put the pressure on me in a way I didn’t expect. I found myself disappointed with the results I was seeing my team produce and really couldn’t understand why. Over time, I was able to step back and see the big picture. A light bulb went off! I made two very important realizations that ultimately produced the best team we’ve had to date. (Sidenote: It also saved our bank account!) At the end of today’s show, I go over the ramifications of not using your authentic voice in branding and managing customers, as well as the crashes that come from not having a long-term business plan. Spoiler: neither habit gets you to a happy place. The twists and turns of building and owning a business are never ending. However, staying the course to reap the rewards are entirely worth it. Thank you for joining me to today as I give you a little inside intel on how NOT to waste time and money on the same errors. As one of the first videographers to really focus on and celebrate Carnivals and Soca, he has made a name for himself as the “go-to” guy for capturing the Carnival culture. He has covered numerous Carnival celebrations, including Trinidad Carnival, and Notting Hill Carnival in the UK. These amazing celebrations of the Caribbean, West Indies and Latin cultures of the world have given him colorful content to publish and he’s quickly become an expert in that area. Aside from this work, Fernando has just come back from documenting a music festival in Spain and - my favorite accolade to mention – he’s recently worked with Rick Ross while in the US. Income Streams Super Strategy

Today is all talk about money. It is so important to have a strategy so that the work you do is actually building a business instead of just going through the motions with no link to a future sale. Silos of income allow you to learn and grow and gives you the data for future decision making as your business grows. In this episode, I am going to break down 6 strategic silos of income for starters. I want you all to remember that what I’m going to give you today are examples. Your business may differ slightly, but I’d be hard pressed to find a business activity that cannot be applied to these silos of income streams. Organizing your time and business through these silos is just a great way to be tactical and measurable. You should be assigning goals and giving metrics to yourself regularly so you can make well-informed decisions. This is part of actual business management, guys. This is how we manage our business instead of letting our business manage us. It is so important to build some form of these buckets of income into your business plan. None of this matters unless you plan it, execute it, test it, throw out what doesn't work, and then replicate the sh*zz out of what IS working. There's your next tattoo. You're welcome, lol. Fear Free Launches with Kim Ransom

Welcome to Episode 0 of the Fear Free Launches! I’m Kim Ransom and super excited to be launching this podcast! Let me introduce myself. I’m Kim and I’m a girl from southern Indiana. I have now lived in gritty, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for almost 15 years. I’ve started, owned & operated and even sold, profitable ventures in the sports space as well as online retail, and launching just a couple more as we speak. I’m a coach at heart. What fills my tank is the intrinsic value of seeing someone else benefit from what I’ve taught them. I love to show others how to get better at a skill or reach a goal because of my coaching. I also love coaching people on other skills I’ve built, like how to build businesses and how to be an innovator in your field. There are truly remarkable people out there in the world who have amazing ideas that never get brought to the table (probably, you!). They’re afraid of being rejected and because of that, the world misses out on what they have to offer. The tragedy of watching my smart, inspiring friends not push themselves to do the things that their hearts really desire, actually breaks my heart. I know by now that whether you are brand new or a seasoned veteran in the entrepreneurial space, there is always an element of fear involved. However, I also know by now that there is a system and a formula to controlling that fear and preparing for successful launches. Fear should never be something that prevents us from moving forward and claiming our own destiny. My friends, the Fear Free Launches podcast is now borne! And if you’re listening to this, I want you to know that I’m going to speak to you like we’ve already been friends for years. If we haven’t met yet, I would really love for you to connect with me over on the gram, FB or through my email. Each week, I’m to teach valuable content that has catapulted me forward or that I wish I had known earlier. We are going to plan. We are going to learn. We are going to create. We are going to change some habit. But overall, together we’re going to get motivated and take action and not settle for anything less than what we deserve. If you’re ready to put in the work, I want you to hang with me here and then share with your friends. Now let’s get started making those dreams happen!
