In 1968, close to midnight, her family went outside to see what their German Shepard dog was barking at. Looming over the hill, a lens-shaped object the size of a tractor trailer with a rotating band of blue, white, and red lights hovered silently in the moonlight. That was the first UFO sighting she experienced at twelve years of age. “That was only the beginning of the family’s sightings with the most significant one happening in 1987 after a large UFO flap in Wytheville, Virginia. After hundreds of sightings by military, the sheriff’s department, and many locals including radio newscaster Danny Gordon, her parents woke up to find a strange triangle-shaped landing marks in their back field. “After her career and raising a family, Ms. East returned to her first love and began writing paranormal books and also researching the UFO phenomenon. This led to her hosting her own radio show six years ago and she is still giving people a voice to tell their stories today. ‘It’s my legacy,’ she smiles. ‘I like to believe we are all a piece of the puzzle. I not only interview people like Bruce Maccabee, James Bartley, and Peter Robbins, who are experts in their own fields but the everyday person, researcher, or abductee with unique stories to share.’ ” Check out her Facebookpages https://www.facebook.com/debrajayne.east.5 And blog http://notesfromtheundergound.blogspot.com/

Paul Davids is a film producer who also happens to be an artist, a clothing designer, and a writer of several interesting books, including the nonfiction An Atheist in Heaven, cowritten with Dr. Gary E. Swartz. Here is some info about the book: “What happens when a lifelong skeptic dies and discovers he was wrong about life after death? Forrest J. Ackerman (1916-2008), a luminary in the early history of science fiction and an ardent, lifelong atheist, promised that if he were wrong about the nonexistence of an afterlife, he would attempt to send a convincing message to a few people he especially respected. Not only did Forrest leave a physical message for coauthor Paul Davids that could not be explained by contemporary forensic science, but in addition, he produced an extraordinary wealth of four kinds of converging evidence: (1) startling physical phenomena (many with clues to his identity); (2) frequent, highly improbable synchronicities; (3) relevant communications via research mediums; and (4) astonishing, measurable effects on technology, possibly beyond anything previously documented in the history of afterlife research. Could this in fact be the ultimate evidence for life after death?” Other interesting projects Paul has either created or collaborated on include Marilyn Monroe Declassified, Jesus in India, and The Artist and The Shaman.

Tonight our guest is Dr. R. Ken Johnston, a retired aerospace engineer who has been called a NASA whistle-blower because he decided to save, rather than destroy, some perfectly good glossies from the Apollo program. Also, please check out Ken’s Moon, his own personal recounting of his experiences. Here is his official bio: “Dr. R. Ken Johnston, Sr. one of 4 Civilian Astronaut Consultant Pilots from the Apollo Moon Program, is a retired aerospace engineer, US Marine, and “NASA Whistleblower.” He refused to strictly follow orders and destroy a nearly-complete collection of 8″ x 10″ glossy photo-prints from the Apollo program, photos that are not available from NASA at this time and are of a higher resolution than what is found online. Johnston was born Fort Sam Houston US Army Air Base in San Antonio, TX. 1942, and studied at Oklahoma City University. He enlisted in the US Marines in August, 1962 and reported to Pensacola as a Marine cadet for flight training in September 1964. He left the Marines in August 1966. Johnston was hired by Grumman Aircraft as pilot with an avionics background to become a principal contractor for the Apollo Lunar Module to assist with cockpit and instrument development and training in Houston. He has described his status at that time as a “civilian astronaut consultant pilot.” Ken worked with the Lunar Lander LTA-8 that was in a large vacuum chamber training all the astronauts on the systems of the Lunar Lander. He has a log book with names of many of the astronauts from the Apollo days and after. When the first men landed on the moon, NASA rewarded all the research and development personnel with lay offs but Ken’s skills were needed elsewhere. Ken Johnston worked as a contractor from 1969 to 1972, during the Apollo Program, and he was employed by Brown & Root, principal contractors to NASA for management of the Lunar Receiving Laboratory, where all the moon rocks were stored, curated, cataloged and, in some cases, distributed to scientists who had successfully applied to carry out analysis in their own labs. An important part of Johnston‘s duty was to package and ship lunar samples to science labs, together with photographs documenting their exact location and orientation in situ. As such, he had in his office several sets of photographs taken by Apollo astronauts with their chest-mounted Hasselblad cameras. When the moon rock distribution wound down, he was instructed by Bud Laskawa, his boss, to destroy what remained of the photo archive, but Johnston kept one set as a personal collection for a work portfolio. Johnston applied to NASA for the 1977 astronaut selection for duty as a Space Shuttle astronaut, but was turned down because NASA wanted the astronauts to be PhD level scientists. The ideal astronaut was no longer a jet-jock, but men with scientific accreditation. Johnston applied when NASA was recruiting again, Johnston says he was considered too old. He did, however, join NASA’s educational outreach program as a “Solar System Ambassador” traveling and speaking to civic and youth groups about space exploration and careers in engineering and science. Ken Johnston spent 23 years at NASA working with numerous space programs as well as the astronauts who manned those missions. He was one of the five original pilots who tested all of the Apollo equipment including the lunar module which later carried Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. He is familiar with the processes of checks and balances used within NASA to secure the safety of a mission.” ?

Brewer’s research interests include alleged alien abduction, the intelligence community, and related social dynamics. He is the author of the nonfiction book, The Greys Have Been Framed: Exploitation in the UFO Community. Here is a description of the book from Jack: The Greys Have Been Framed: Exploitation in the UFO Community explores the ways deception, sensationalism, and questionable ethics characterize the UFO genre and distort public perception of the UFO phenomenon. With interviews and insights from James Carrion, Leah Haley, Dr. Tyler Kokjohn, Simone Mendez, Carol Rainey, Emma Woods, and others, the manipulation of ufology as perpetrated by suspect individuals and the intelligence community is documented. The circumstances, existing from the very outset of the modern day UFO phenomenon, prove relevant whatever opinion one may hold on the mystery of UFOs and their alleged occupants.

Tonight we will be discussing The Del Rio, Texas UFO Crash. It is a 1955 UFO case reported by a former jet pilot in the United States Air Force Reserve, Robert Burton Willingham, who died last month. While flying a North American Aviation F-86 Sabre jet on a bomber escort mission over West Texas, Willingham observed a large, highly luminous orb moving toward him from the northwest at about 2,000 miles per hour. At one point, he saw it execute a sudden 90-degree turn without slowing. As the object moved past his aircraft, Willingham gave chase and later saw it fall to the ground and crash near Del Rio, Texas. After switching planes, Willingham returned to the crash site later in the day and was confronted by Mexican soldiers who were guarding the wreckage while waiting for the arrival of the U.S. Air Force. Before being forced to leave, Willingham observed the crashed object at close range and also took a metallic UFO fragment with him. Our guests tonight are Ruben Uriarte and Noe Torres, authors of the books Mexico’s Roswell, The Other Roswell: UFO Crash on the Texas-Mexican Border, and Aliens in the Forest: The Cisco Grove UFO Encounter. Colonel Robert Burton Willingham received his heavenly wings on August 27, 2015. The Colonel was born August 15, 1926 in Holliday, Texas to John Robert Willingham and Bessie Lois Miller Willingham. Burton grew up in Archer County, Texas. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on December 8, 1945 and served in Europe at the end of World War II. After the war, he was discharged from the Army and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was also a veteran of the wars in Korea and Viet Nam. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a full Colonel on June 1, 1966. The Colonel also served with the Civil Air Patrol and was an avid ham radio operator. The Colonel was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries he received in Korea. Burt was at the front visiting friends when the Chinese Communist attacked. He and everyone else there was given a rifle and ordered into foxholes. A mortar shell landed in his foxhole and seriously injured his legs. He spent much time convalescing in hospital in Japan and San Antonio. Burt was also awarded a Bronze Star and many other medal for his service. The Colonel also was a witness to a UFO in about 1955 when he was piloting an F-86 Sabre jet escorting a B-47 Stratojet Bomber over West Texas. They were flying a cold war simulated bombing run on the Soviet Union. This incident was memorialized in the 2008 book, The Other Roswell, UFO Crash on the Texas-Mexico Border, written by Noe Torres and Ruben Uriarte. Burt was an accomplished musician who loved to play guitar and fiddle among other instruments. He was a fixture at area jamborees and pioneer gatherings at the rodeos. Burton also repaired guitars and fiddles. Burt was preceded in death by his parents and dear friend Jane Seay. He is survived by his son Robert B. Willingham in Enola, Pennsylvania, and daughter Peggy Willingham Hunter of Middleton, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by several cousins and many friends and comrades from Ira Jones Post 198 of the American Legion in Archer City. The Colonel had been a member of the post for over 50 years. Graveside services with full military honors was held at at the Archer City Cemetery Pavilion with Dan Reddick, Pastor of Archer City Church of Christ, officiating.
