The Thriving Joy with Katie Carroll podcast is an incredible show that truly touches the soul. Katie has a way of connecting with her audience that makes you feel like she is your best friend. Her authenticity and relatability are unparalleled, and listening to her feels like having a heart-to-heart conversation with a dear friend. Whether she's making you laugh, cry, or reflect, the podcast never fails to leave a lasting impact.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is Katie's ability to get to the core of human emotions and experiences. She has a unique way of delving deep into the topics that matter, allowing her listeners to connect on a profound level. Her messages empower women and encourage them to find their voices and embrace their worthiness. The podcast serves as a platform for vulnerability and strength, inspiring positive generational shifts in its wake.

Another standout aspect of The Thriving Joy with Katie Carroll podcast is how it resonates with its audience. Listeners often find themselves talking back to the radio, feeling understood and heard. Katie's words provide reassurance and comfort, serving as an external voice that affirms our internal voices. Through sharing her own raw and inspiring story, she creates a safe space for others to share their journeys as well.

While it's challenging to find any negative aspects of this podcast, one possible downside could be the focus solely on women's experiences. While it's valuable to have dedicated spaces for women's empowerment, some listeners might feel excluded if they don't identify as female. A more inclusive approach could help expand the reach of this amazing show.

In conclusion, The Thriving Joy with Katie Carroll is an exceptional podcast that brings light and inspiration into people's lives. Katie has created something truly special here – a platform where vulnerability meets strength, friendship meets empowerment. Her powerful message resonates deeply with listeners and fosters positive change in their lives. If you're searching for a podcast that feels like a warm hug and leaves you feeling inspired, this is the one for you.

Hello sweet friend!  Recently, I was listening to a podcast (shocker!  LOL!), and the woman who was speaking was talking about changing the channel in our minds when the negative talk comes in.  I absolutely loved this idea of having the CHOICE to decide what we want to allow into our minds and our hearts.     We all spend way too much time scrolling and falling down the rabbit hole into the comparison game, self-shaming and ultimately feeling anxious, depressed and overall defeated.  And, we live in this cycle of repeat and it's not doing anyone any good!   It's time that we took back control (think taking back the TV controller from the one who controls it in your house!  LOL!), and CHANGE THE CHANNEL!  It could very well change your life!      Be well,    Katie

Hello sweet friend!  This week's episode may be triggering for some women, as my guest and I talk about being a "childless woman".   I found this amazing woman Laura Bignasco through our mutual Facebook Podcasters Group, and when I read about Laura I knew that I had to have her on my show.  Laura lives in Argentina and listening to her beautiful accent is quite soothing.  As a 47 year-old woman who always dreamed of having children, I am part of that "childless women's" group.     Laura talks so beautifully about living as "childless woman" and how she navigates the societal and cultural pressures on a daily basis.     Laura talks about "pronatalism", which is a term that I had never heard of, but I've definitely fallen victim to the meaning behind it in my life.   We talk a lot about going outside of our comfort zones (which you know is a topic that I love talking about!), and we talk about the subjects of acceptance, feeling like a "whole woman" even without a child, and the grief process that comes with being a "childless woman" in today's world.   You can find Laura on her IG page:   https://www.instagram.com/lasnomama/  Hearing Laura say her instagram's name in Spanish is so beautiful and really gives a visceral feeling to the contrast of the name and what it actually means.    I hope that you enjoy this episode as much as I did recording it!   As always, if you have 2 minutes to leave a rating a review, I'd be honored!   Until next time my friend,   Be well,   XOXO,   Katie

Hello Friend,   It's just me and you this week!  I saw a reel on IG the other day about the University of Alabama's Football Head Coach retiring...and I started crying!  What?!  I didn't attend the University of Alabama, I never played football (lol!), and I'm not even a football fan (unless there's chili involved, then I'll be there with bells on!  LOL!!). But, someone in the reel brought up the idea of "REST" and I just had to tie it in to a podcast episode!   I know that as women, and as nurses, we find it hard to rest.  "A woman's work is never done...A nurse's job is never done".  However, there is truly a gold mine for our hearts and souls when we rest; and there are people in your life who are waiting on the sidelines of your life just waiting for that moment to have some one-on-one time with you.  Being present with those you love the most is truly the best present!     I hope that you enjoy this episode and I'd love to hear your thoughts!  You can find me on FB, IG, LI or on my website:   https://katiecarrollcoaching.com/   Be well!   XOXO,    Katie

Hello friend!  Welcome back to the podcast!  I have a real treat for you this week with the incredible Lauren Wickline.  I met Lauren through our mutual podcasting facebook group. Lauren and I dive into topics of relationships, heartbreak, learning the importance of being able to say "no", gratitude, balance, loneliness, people-pleasing, red flags in relationships, anxious attachment to people in our lives (particularly with partners), and ultimately embracing the nothingness. I was so interested to learn in the "Peter Pan and Wendy Syndrome" that Lauren dives into on this episode.  I believe that you will come away with some wonderful nuggets, as always, to put into your tool kit as you navigate this life!     Lauren is a licensed mental health therapist in the state of Virginia. She has been practicing in a variety of settings since 2017 to include public schools, acute inpatient hospitals, and outpatient. She has always been passionate about the performing arts to include, singing, theater, and Irish dance. She is passionate about implementing these experiences to include expressive arts, metaphor, and storytelling in all settings as a form of healing. This past April, Lauren experienced a major heartbreak from a man she thought was the love of her life. While she had to begin her spiritual/healing journey and the re-discovering of herself after this event, she had some professional as well as personal revelations which has motivated her to tell her story in order to help others. She discovered a concept that was first coined in the 1980s by Dr. Dan Kiley called Peter Pan and Wendy's Syndrome. While these aren't official terms and diagnoses in the DSM-V, Lauren couldn't help but find that these pop culture psychology terms are very relevant in today's society. She hopes to use her story to help and educate others about the damages caused by emotionally unavailable, narcissistic, people as well as ways to move past the “Wendy's Syndrome” which includes anxious attachment, people pleasing, and codependent tendencies. As a recovering anxiously attached people pleaser herself, Lauren hopes her story helps others see their worth and brings to light ways to avoid being caught in a Peter Pan and Wendy Syndrome dynamic in their relationships.    https://www.instagram.com/lauren_wickywicky/   https://laurenwicktherapist.blogspot.com/

Hello Friend!   Do you struggle with sitting still?  Do you find yourself going from one task to the other, never stopping to take a breath, and falling into bed at night feeling like you got nothing done?!     I hear you my friend!  I  used to live in a world of just being "busy".  I would fill my days from top to bottom with no wiggle room.  I didn't realize that being "busy" and being "productive" were not the same thing (although I felt "so productive" because I could check things off my list and that had to count for something, right?!).  I was a human DOING...doing doing doing.  I was moving so fast that I forgot that I am HUMAN BEING.  Could I just "BE" in the moment?  Why was I moving so fast?  Why did I think that I couldn't slow down?   In today's episode, I dive into WHY we struggle with sitting still and the BENEFITS of being able to sit still.  I also give some good ole' action steps that you can start taking today to practice the art of sitting still (I'm working on this, as well!  We are all a work in progress!).   And, bonus, here's the link to my FREE MASTERCLASS!!!   https://coachinscrubs.ck.page/37a908ab46   Be well my friend!  And, keep on THRIVING! Hello friend,   On this week's episode, I dive into 3 tips that you can use if you are experiencing a time in life where you are feeling LOST.  As I recorded this episode, we 7 weeks and 1 day into our striking for safe staffing at my hospital.  And, to be quite honest, many of us are feeling "LOST".     As someone who has worked full time for the last 24 years (yep, I had my 24 year nursing work anniversay on 09/13/23...kind of a mixed emotion time!), not working (and, therefore, not having my usual "routine") over these past 7 weeks has been unsettling.  There are feelings of sadness, anger, resentment, confusion, unease and yes, feeling lost.   I know that we were not meant to do this life alone, and that it truly takes a village to be able to reach all of our goals and THRIVE in this one, beautiful life that we have been gifted.  So, as always, I hope this helps you in some way; and if you have ever experienced these feelings in the past, maybe you can be someone's shoulder to cry on that is currently feeling this way.  You can show them that there is light at the end of a dark tunnel.   Be well, XOXO, Katie

Anyone else struggle with what to wear sometimes? Staring into your closet for the “perfect outfit”? Yep, I believe that we’ve all been there!  In today’s episode we dive into your closet and Holly gives you little prompts to help you pick out that outfit, like asking yourself, “How do I want to see me?”. Taking 3 minutes to see what you’re wearing and gifting yourself the answer of how you really want to see yourself that day. Holly talks about how we can honor ourselves with our wardrobes after this year that we’ve all been through with the Covid-19 pandemic (hint: pre-Covid there was not too much loungewear being worn; during Covid, lots and lots of loungewear being bought and worn).  We also take it one layer deeper as we discuss the negative self-talk that so many of us live with, and how our wardrobe can be a positive way that we look at ourselves, and therefore, talk to ourselves. We also laugh about the “dreaded dressing rooms” that we’ve all been in while trying on clothes, and how the lighting and the mirrors usually don’t make for such great impressions! We talk about having compassion for ourselves with our clothing, and with our bodies. Other topics we touch on are decluttering, “getting rid of” or giving away clothes, photoshoots, and so much more!! There is so much greatness in this episode, so please grab your favorite beverage, and gift yourself the time to listen to the magic of Holly Chayes!! I met Emily through the magic of Instagram! Emily’s name on instagram is “fabover40healthandfitness”, and being a 44 year-old woman myself (and my love for health and fitness!), I just knew that I had to reach out to Emily and meet her!! Emily brings such a passion for her work into every conversation that we’ve had, and in today’s episode Emily really shines the light on her WHY. Emily comes with a 23 year background as an occupational therapist and what she has witnessed happening to people’s health and wellbeing over those years has helped inspire her to do the amazing work that she is doing today.  In today’s episode, we talk about being a woman in her 40s, Emily’s life as a single mom to two teenage sons and being an entrepreneur all amidst the year that we’ve just all had with the Covid pandemic. We talk a lot about mindset and how we must nurture our minds, bodies and spirits in order to be in a state of balanced well-being.  Emily talks about her history with an eating disorder, “finding herself”, the importance of personal development, and following your dreams. So, sit back, grab your favorite beverage and get energized with Emily Hollister!!  I'm Emily , the ENERGIZER Health/Fitness Coach. I've always had a huge passion for health, fitness, and helping others live a happier, healthier and more fulfilling life. I help women over 40 lose weight, feel more energized and confident to get their MOJO back with a fitness program tailored to your fitness level and without dieting!!  As a 45 year old single mom of 2, working 23 years as an Occupational Therapist in skilled nursing, I know how stressful, busy, crazy and hectic life can get. While trying to juggle all of our daily responsibilities, we put ourselves and our health to the back burner. We end up developing unhealthy lifestyle habits including poor diet and inactivity that result in being overweight, lacking energy, feeling overwhelmed, and stressed. Over time, this unhealthy lifestyle can result in medical conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure requiring medications. I have seen the medical profession prescribe medications and never addressing the unhealthy lifestyle habits that may be contributing to the medical condition.  When I first got into health and fitness, I approached it very wrongly. I would go on fad diets and overwork myself at the gym. I thought healthy eating was calorie restriction, weighing foods and cutting out healthy carbs. In turn, I did not feel my optimal best, and my weight fluctuated too much because of different diet routines and burning myself out at the gym. I was always feeling the need to "cheat" and I was not gaining energy. It came to a point where I didn’t want to do these diets anymore.  I decided to go into personal fitness training, since working out was always one of my passions! I learned how to workout smarter for myself and how to help my clients workout the best way for them, with 30 minute at home workouts. Then I decided to go into nutrition. I wanted something that taught me and my clients how to make healthy eating into a lifestyle, how to eat without restriction, without calorie counting and without needing “cheat” days! I wanted to feel my best and treat my body with respect!  Through my Fab Over 40 program, I want to help others realize that it’s okay to take time for yourself and your self care by developing better eating habits, taking time for fitness, and learning how to find balance in your life. It will result in a happier and healthier you, which will overflow in your relationships with spouse, family, friends, co workers, etc.  During the past year, I decided to follow my passion of helping others become the best version of themselves, prevent these chronic conditions I have seen over the past 23 years, and became a fitness coach to represent this amazing program that gave me my MOJO back. I am now offering everyone access to this amazing fitness and nutrition program that has helped get me in the best shape, healthier, stronger, more energized and confident than ever. I just turned 45 and feel 25!!  My fitness program includes 1 year access to over 1800 workouts for all fitness levels, from 10-60 minutes, all streamed through any device!! As your coach, I will help you find a fitness and nutrition program that fits your needs, goals, and lifestyle Nutrition plans with recipes included, and part of my accountability team, which helps keep people motivated. You are never alone in your journey.  I started a YouTube channel called Energize with Emily. I want to motivate, inspire, empower, and help others lead a healthy life through music, motivation and motion, and show people that fitness is fun!! My YouTube Channel will have 10-20 min beginner and intermediate workouts with little to no equipment. Liz truly embodies what it means to dig deep for strength and the energy to keep showing up for herself and others. To know Liz is to love her and her fun, energetic, smiling self! In today’s episode, the incredibly gifted Julie Nuzzo shares her magic with us.  When I first met Julie at HOME POWER YOGA in Cranford, NJ, there was an immediate connection.  Not only does Julie have such a beautiful, calming presence about her, but when I found out that she was also a nurse, BOOM!, there was that instant nurse bond!      Julie moves through the studio with such grace and elegance, as well as being firmly rooted in her knowledge and strength in the yoga practice.  Julie would many times be in class being the hands-on (pre Covid!) adjuster, coming around and gently helping you dive deeper into your pose.  Julie’s hands and heart are definitely not only a gift in the yoga studio, but Julie has also been an intensive care unit nurse for the last 16 years.  Julie’s knowledge from her nursing career and love for overall health helped inspire her to pursue her yoga teacher training.    In today’s episode, we talk about being an ICU nurse and the heart and soul, and self-care, that is so needed when working in such a high-stress and high-burnout area; as well as the lessons that Julie has learned as a nurse and how she brings those lessons onto her mat.     Once you hear Julie’s voice and her passion for nursing and yoga, I’m sure you will find yourself following her absolutely beautiful Instagram page and if you’re lucky enough to be in her area, potentially taking one of her yoga classes!     So, grab your cozy drink and get settled in for an episode that’ll calm your heart and your mind and inspire you to break out that yoga mat (or go buy one on Amazon!)  Enjoy!!!   Here is some more information about the incredible Julie Nuzzo:  Julie knows first hand the art of compassion in the medical industry. For the past 16 years, she has built her career in neonatal and pediatric critical care, but most recently spent 4 months of 2020 as a frontline worker in adult intensive care units. Fueling her passion for anatomy and overall health and well being, she decided that after practicing yoga for 14 years, she would learn how to teach it! Always a fitness and health enthusiast, she was forever changed by regular, disciplined practice and wants to share the impact power yoga has on our physical and mental health with as many as possible. In addition to currently working on becoming a nurse practitioner in psychiatry, she obtained her 200 hour Registered Yoga Alliance certification training in 2019. Catch her live teaching at AMP Yoga in Springfield NJ on Tuesday mornings and follow her Instagram handle @julienuzzo for information on in-studio and private instruction. If you’re new to the practice, or not sure if you want to try it, check out some of the free videos and instructions on her page!  https://www.instagram.com/julienuzzo/ https://www.instagram.com/ampyogastudio/
