Most founders think selling a business is about getting the highest offer. Nathan Gwilliam spent 30 years learning why that belief is exactly what destroys exits. Three businesses built. Three exits are closed. And a front-row seat to some of the most painful – and profitable – lessons the entrepreneurial world rarely talks about out loud. Like the time Disney came knocking... and his partner wouldn't even let them see the financials. Or the earn-out that looked like a windfall on paper - until someone else was making all the decisions. Or the phone call on a Sunday morning, right before church, that changed everything about why he sold Adoption.com. In this episode, Jaryd sits down with Nathan – the founder behind the most visited adoption platform in the world – for one of the most honest, human, and genuinely surprising conversations we've had on this show. Because yes, you'll get the tactics. The roll-up acquisition strategy that turned his biggest competitor into his biggest asset. The 50/50 partnership trap that quietly kills deals before they ever start. The exact moment a founder should seriously consider selling – even if the timing feels wrong. But this one goes somewhere most business podcasts are too scared to go. Into the Sunday morning phone calls. Into making decisions from love instead of fear. Into what it actually costs – emotionally, financially, spiritually – to build something real and then let it go. Nathan doesn't dress it up. He doesn't hide the mistakes. And he doesn't pretend the journey was clean. And that's exactly what makes this one unmissable.

He's a father of seven, a former foster and adopted child himself, and the author of 20 books — including From Fear to Love, which has sold over a million copies. In this conversation, Bryan breaks down why most of what we call "bad behavior" in our kids is actually stress — and why the most powerful thing a dad can do isn't fix, coach, or correct. It's slow down and breathe. What you'll learn:  — How a parent's energy directly shapes a child's anxiety  — Why love-based parenting isn't permissive (it's actually harder)  — The difference between coaching your kid and connecting with them  — How to hold space when your child is melting down without losing yourself  — Why Bryan says grief is the most overlooked tool in a father's life If you're a dad who wants to lead with love instead of fear, this one's for you.

Kathleen shares that love is the key to manifesting abundance, joy, and the ultimate reality, while fear and doubt are illusions created by the ego. Drawing on insights from A Course in Miracles, Kathleen highlights the spiritual truth that love and God are one and that stepping into love-based awareness dissolves the barriers to our highest potential. Through maintaining a high frequency of love and appreciation, shifting self-perception, and taking inspired, heart-led action, everyone is encouraged to break free from limitation and step into a life of purpose, prosperity, and deep fulfillment.   Also in this episode: Love is the foundational energy that fosters success and abundance, overshadowing fear and ego-driven thoughts. Our external reality reflects our internal beliefs; love-focused beliefs attract positive experiences. True manifestation involves not just envisioning success but embodying the identity aligned with abundance. Fear and anxiety are illusions stemming from the ego, which distract from our actual state of love and potential. Leaders must pivot, stay accountable, and embrace new technologies like video conferencing to maintain client relationships.Advisors must go beyond numbers, understanding a client's personal background, family dynamics, and emotional connection to money in order to provide tailored financial guidance.Proper planning, including savings strategies and risk awareness (like inflation or long-term care needs), ensures clients are financially secure as they navigate both the ascent and descent of their financial "mountain."Observing and reflecting on the financial habits of past generations, both positive and negative, helps inform smarter decisions and avoid repeating mistakes related to financial stress.Just as in fitness or personal growth, having a financial coach helps individuals stay disciplined, focused, and aligned with their long-term goals, ensuring steady progress toward financial security.

Hebrews 7:20-21 And inasmuch as it was not without an oath (for they indeed became priests without an oath, but He with an oath through the One who said to Him, “The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind, ‘You are a priest forever'”); The author of Hebrews magnifies Jesus' authority by again contrasting how each was appointed. God's appointment of the Levitical priests did not come with an oath, meaning God could terminate their service. His word did not prevent Him from replacing them. However, in contrast, because Jesus was appointed a priest with an oath, we should have great confidence to trust in Jesus. Since God swore Him into office and won't change His mind, Jesus serves with authority forever. No one loves perfectly. We are all weak and sometimes overcome with natural, selfish, demonic impulses. How can one approach God's throne with confidence to ask for grace to help when he or she has so many times turned their backs on Him and tried to do things in their own strength, or even worse, knowingly repeated sinful actions and spoke hurtful, damaging words? What makes them think God forgives their sins? How can He and be just? What kind of love can just wave a hand and turn a blind eye to such adultery and treachery? Perhaps human love can just overlook transgressions, but holy, just, righteous love cannot. The love of righteousness demands that sins must be punished, atoned for, and justice served. The very foundation of His throne is righteousness and justice, but lovingkindness and truth go before Him. (Ps. 89:14). It is for this reason that God swore when He appointed Jesus to be a priest forever. He could intercede for the transgressors. Listen to Isaiah's revelation of the Messiah, God's appointed high priest. Isaiah 53:10-12 But the LORD was pleased to crush Him, putting Him to grief; if He would render Himself as a guilt coffering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, and the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand. As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; by His knowledge [knowledge of what? Their iniquities] the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, as He will bear their iniquities. Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the booty with the strong; because He poured out Himself to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet He Himself bore the sin of many, and interceded for the transgressors. Consider the hope this fosters in the hearts of those who trust in Jesus and draw near to Him when they sin and need mercy and when they need grace to love. They can rest in the reality that Almighty God, their heavenly Father, cannot deny Jesus when He intercedes for them. Not only does He intercede for them, asking for God to be merciful, but He also advocates for them. He stands beside them to comfort them and give them grace to love with Him. This is the reality of living to love with Jesus. We live and love based on the authority of God's word (His oath) regarding His Son, our high priest, our Savior, and constant, gentle companion.

As a solo mom, I can't tell you how many nights I lay awake worried about my sons. This fear over their safety and wellbeing often created conflict because I was parenting through fear instead of love. So if you find yourself at odds with your teenager or realize that you are often puzzled about your relationship with your child maybe you are parenting from a place of fear -- instead of love.Listen to this enlightening conversation with Jim White, founder of the Family Enrichment Academy, as we delve into the dynamic dance of parenting through love rather than fear. With a legacy of a 41-year-strong marriage, six children, and the delight of 13 grandchildren, Jim's insights are a tapestry woven from personal experiences. We discussed the fragility of long-term relationships and the unpredictable nature of parenting, emphasizing the transformative power of love over fear. Jim offers a treasure trove of wisdom on the pitfalls of fear-based parenting—a reflection of our insecurities—and how an intentional love-based approach can create a thriving environment for both children and parents alike. Our heartfelt discussion examines the landscape of intentional parenting, providing actionable strategies that are especially pertinent during the difficult teenage years. By championing love as a conscious choice and a guiding light in our everyday interactions, we illustrate how it can reshape our family dynamics into something healthier and more connected. Jim also shares his four-step process for shifting from fear to love in your parenting playbook, starting with emotional awareness and the art of the pause, progressing through forgiveness, and compassion, culminating in the celebration of gratitude and empowerment. Love-based Simplicity

As we wrap up our week on the simplicity of love, today we'll look at the concept of simplicity itself and what it means to have a solitary pursuit. As you fix your eyes on Jesus today, may you find that the weight of the world falls away. And may you choose the path of simplicity and love going forward living out in joy and peace. Our Scripture for today comes from Colossians 3:14. Today's worship is Just Jesus by Hillsong. -- When you trust Christ as your savior and Lord, you begin a relationship that extends into eternity.  However, eternity doesn't start in heaven, and you don't have to wait until then to experience a full life in Christ.   The truth is that we as Christians are called to invest in our relationship with God in this life as well as in the life to come.    And that means becoming more like Christ every single day.    In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus provided a systematic ethic for how to be his disciples.         It was a relatively short sermon, but God's truth in that message has never stopped reverberating throughout the world.   Our latest book, The Path to Purpose delves into the timeless wisdom of Jesus' most famous sermon, the Sermon on the Mount. St Augustine described the sermon as “a perfect standard for the Christian life.”   While we may doubt ourselves from ever achieving such “a perfect standard,” Jesus' central message in his Sermon on the Mount helps us see that standard not as a burden but rather as a source of freedom, purpose, and a guide for living beautifully.   To know more about God's calling on your life, request your copy today of The Path to Purpose: Christ's Vision for Your Life in the Sermon on the Mount, at supportfirst15.org.

God is the perfect parent. He is unlike anyone we've ever known, and his love is unlike anything we've experienced before. Imagine knowing your parent loved you perfectly, and that their intentions and motives behind giving you direction was literally perfectly loving? That's how God is with us. His wisdom and direction is something we can trust implicitly because he can trust his heart toward us, and that truth makes obedience a joy. As we explore love-based obedience today, may your heart be open to the goodness of your loving Father.   Our Scripture for today comes from John 14:21, and today's worship is Authority by Elevation Worship. Most of the time our emotional happiness is based on our life's circumstances. As we continue our week on the simplicity of love, today we'll be taking a look at the joy that comes from living a love-based life. Once we know that God's love is for us always, unconditionally—no matter what, our hope is secure and joy is ours for the taking. May you walk in joy today as you lean into this love-based reality a bit more. Our Scripture for today comes from Philippians 4:4, and today's worship is  Free by Life Church. In today's episode, I'm talking to you about a topic that has totally changed the way I take decisions and the way I have decided to lead my life. Being human means to be vulnerable and fearful, it is indeed totally normal to fear the future or big decisions we are facing. What is less normal or liveable I would say is to let this fear leading the way we live. First, because it is not sustainable and then, it won't give you the life that you truly desire. So how do we move from fear-based decisions to love-based decisions? This is exactly what I'm going to explain to you in today's episode. I truly hope that this new way of choosing and living will benefit you as much as it has benefited me. You will find some questions to self-reflect at the end of the Podcast. Please share the answers with me privately if you like or in comment :) Thanks for the love and support.

Our Scripture for today comes from Colossians 3:14, and today's worship is Simple Gospel by United Pursuit. --   Faith doesn't happen on its own. It's a byproduct of time spent experiencing the faithfulness of our God. It's a gift given to us by the Giver of good gifts, himself.    It was a supernatural faith that allowed Paul to sing even while in chains. It was supernatural faith that allowed Peter to proclaim the gospel, even unto death. And it's supernatural faith that will carry you to and through the greatest gospel opportunities in front of you.    We pray our printed devotionals, Faith and Trust, help people like you experience the life changing reality that faith and trust have on your everyday life.     With Faith you'll:    Discover a Biblical framework for living faithfully Study powerful moments of God's faithfulness in scripture Tear down personal strongholds in your life where you struggle with faith Develop a lifestyle of faith, that weathers the storms of life   And every dollar you give today goes to help more people like you experience the nearness and love of our God.  Everything changes when we learn to trust and become filled with faith in our good, good God. Our Scripture for today comes from John 14:21, and today's worship is Child of Love by We The Kingdom. --   Faith doesn't happen on its own. Our Scripture for today comes from Philippians 4:4, and today's worship is Joy of the Lord (feat. Katie Torwalt, Dante Bowe & Naomi Raine) by Maverick City Music | TRIBL. --   Faith doesn't happen on its own. It's a byproduct of time spent experiencing the faithfulness of our God. In 2008 she experienced a mid-life transition, resulting in a complete collapse of everything she had built her life around, forcing her to reconstruct her life from the ground up. The economic collapse caused a Holy Shift – a complete shift in consciousness that ignited spiritual gifts, giving her the ability to communicate with non-physical beings and understand the human experience through the eyes of the Infinite many call God.

You have likely heard me emphasize how important it is to take apart your old beliefs, rather than trying to put new ones on top of them. That's why I'm skeptical about practices that ONLY rely on affirmations or thinking your way to new patterns, since they often bypass your initial wounds and the exiled parts that need to be met and integrated. However, building a new house while you take apart the old one is VERY helpful. Having something to move towards - what you want to feel and believe and experience - can be very grounding and calming for your nervous system as you're uprooting your old house and making major changes to your inner world. In this episode, I talk about when and how affirmations can help you tap into new beliefs you want to live by. Beliefs based in love and trust rather than fear and doubt. And why it's important to find affirmations that make you tingle, open your heart or even salivate. You find show notes in this post on my website.Register for the workshop New Levels of Mastery where I give you a recording of affirmations to build trust in your inner work. So that you can get out of your own way and get greater results with the practices you're doing. Enjoying the Uncover YOU podcast? Your one-sentence review would be most helpful! As we continue our A18 Missions series, the way of Jesus is about finding safety and comfort in order to heal, restore and live from God's love. But it's so much more than that. The mission of God and call of the missional Church is far more than our personal peace and prosperity - it's about love-based risk - going where Jesus is - places where humanity is most at risk, at the intersection between darkness and light, soil and spirit, heaven and earth. We call this living from the redemptive edge. What does this look like, how do we grow in discipleship to follow Jesus into love-based risk? You'll hear many stories of ordinary people, empowered by God's spirit, doing what Jesus did, all over the world.
