For today's replay, the Warriors revisit episode 11 from WAY back in early season 1. Thriving over surviving! Choosing your path with Mimi Felton. Mimi is a long time friend of the pod and founder of Mimi's Yoga Kids. Mimi is doing some incredible things in the wellness space in her home state of Georgia and beyond right now--including being an ambassador for the Africa Yoga Project. About the mission: It's an opportunity for individuals who are leaders in the wellbeing industry to collaborate in the empowerment of African communities using yoga as the catalyst for change. Ambassadors are required to reach a fundraising pledge of $10,000 to allow them to join the AYP team in Kenya where they will spend 14 days working directly and sharing their knowledge with our teachers and the communities that Africa Yoga Project empowers. To donate to Mimi and the AYP mission: visit https://give.africayogaproject.org/campaign/empower-to-inspire/c491764 Seasons change...and so do we. In this week's episode, Abby and Margot welcome their 3rd and very special guest, Camelia (aka Mimi) Felton. Mimi is a yoga teacher for children and founder of Mimi's Yoga Kids. Mimi shares her anxiety story which largely began on the morning of her 30th birthday when she woke up and realized she wasn't where she wanted to be...in body, mind, and soul. She talks openly about her anxiety regarding relationships to family, and herself and the struggle to try and be a caretaker for everyone all the time. We learn about how Mimi's anxieties have shifted as the seasons of her life shift, and she reminds us that we have choices and power over our mindset/goals. We hear about Mimi's past and current habits and coping strategies that allow her to thrive instead of survive. Mimi shares a wonderful win of the week that you won't want to miss, and we have some fun with lightning round questions! https://anxietywarriorspodcast.threadless.com/ https://www.instagram.com/anxietywarriorspodcast/ --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/anxiety-warriors/message

Setan mempunyai segitiga? Forward - The Podcast of the Forward Thinking Chiropractic Alliance
Justin Rabinowitz is a chiropractor, published author and entrepreneur. He founded his first company in New Jersey, three years after graduating chiropractic school. Currently, he has founded and partnered in five companies in and around the healthcare industry which are now combined to be worth in the seven figures. In 2015, after three years as an associate, Justin launched Strive2Move with the same vision he had as a 2nd Trimester at New York Chiropractic College student (Now Northeast College of Health Sciences): Open a practice that would be world class in clinical excellence AND business skills. He started only with a portable table, no outside funding, and no office space. Within two years, the practice was fully functioning and ready to expand all while being 100% Out Of Network/Cash, focusing treatment rehab and movement, and beginning to develop what is now a World Class team. While 2020 was a year of upheaval and re-set for many, 2020 was the biggest growth year Justin's business entities ever experienced. Not only did Strive2Move grow 35% during 2020, Justin also partnered and invested in a new venture, Adjust Your Performance (AYP). AYP runs 100% without Justin physically involved in treatment and has gone from zero to mid six figures in just 18 months. In 2021, Justin purchased business real estate, acquired an existing chiropractic practice, launched a business coaching and digital marketing business, and partnered in opening a Functional Medicine practice (The FuncMed Lab). Out of all the accomplishments, Justin is most proud of the team and culture his community of businesses have built. As of this writing, Justin has never lost an employee. Justin's only hope is his golf game improves like his businesses have.

In this week’s episode, I had the great honor of speaking with the incredibly talented and peaceful Liz Snyder. Liz is an E-RYT and Baptiste Certified Yoga Instructor in NJ. I met Liz when I joined her yoga studio, Home Power Yoga (which she co-owns with her sister Katie Tierney), located in Cranford, NJ. I immediately felt “at home” in their presence and with their community. That heated room is magical at Home Power Yoga! Liz brings her passion for yoga, along with her innate strength as an athlete to her yoga practice and her teachings. Liz brings energy and vibrance to the room each and every time she teaches. Even after being diagnosed with Lyme’s Disease and wondering on many days if she could physically make it to the studio and show up for her business partner, her employees, and her community, Liz found a way to show up for her business and her community powered by the strength and love of her family and community. Liz truly embodies what it means to dig deep for strength and the energy to keep showing up for herself and others. To know Liz is to love her and her fun, energetic, smiling self! Since 2007, Paige has partnered with leaders in politics, philanthropy, design, and entertainment to broaden the AYP organization's empowering reach. Whether working alongside Donna Karan's Urban Zen Foundation, UNICEF, or Michelle Obama's Let's Move Initiative, Paige creates unique opportunities for community involvement and transformation. At home in Nairobi or reaching students around the world, Paige's dedication to positive global change is infectious and inspiring. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/spirituallyfityoga/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/spirituallyfityoga/support
Here's a story of actual racial injustice that happened in a liberal North Shore school district: District 113. As you read this, imagine if the Hispanic community in Highland Park and Highwood, Illinois knew this story. In 2007, District 113, which is composed of Deerfield and Highland Park High Schools, received a federal grant of thousands of dollars because Highland Park High School (HPHS) had failed to make “Adequate Yearly Progress” (AYP). Yes, we're back once again, and a new face joins the AYP family this week, in the form of Staffordshire Poet Laureate 2017-2019, WordCraft co-founder, AND self-professed wordy half of Rose&Cloud: Emily Rose Galvin! Recorded in July 2019, John* and Mike take the opportunity of having somebody with them to try out the Autophonography format on a third party. (NOTE: they say it correctly this week! Impressed? No? Fine!) This episode contains insights into what Emily listened to growing up, what she listens to now, and contains almost no answers confined to one song. It also contains some of the finest ever observations on Morrissey by Emily, and a quip from Mike that renders all further attempts at speaking null and void. Don't forget to look us up on Tumblr for Mike's Listening Notes, and find us on social media at @ayppodcast to tweet us, message us, and perhaps YOU can take part in a recording session of All Yesterday's Parties! #Music #Podcast #Poetry #Morrissey #Jarvis #Stilts #Autophonography #SayItWithUs *John - the noisy half of Rose&Cloud

WE'RE BACK. After the excitement of 'AYP Festival Fest 2018 (Cancelled)', we needed a rest, so we had one, and then realised that we had recorded a couple of episodes prior to 'AYPFF2019(C)' which John utterly failed to upload (John failing to upload things is going to crop up again next week). ANYWAY, this episode and the one after it sees us trying out a format idea kindly donated to us by Gary Wilcox, where a set of questions results in some music-based answers. Mike named this format 'Autophonography' but for some reason in AYPs 41 & 42 we keep ham-fistedly referring to it as 'Audiophonography'. Please ignore this of AYP 41 & 42s John & Mike - they're clearly idiots. In AYP 41, it's John's turn in the hot seat while Mike grills him about which songs was #1 when he was born (it's a lucky escape, folks), what the first album & single he bought was, and what he listens to when he's happy or sad.
TWO EPISODES IN A DAY?! We really want you to get a flavour of the Autophonography vibes, so that if you want to take part in an AYP recording, you'll be prepped. As mentioned previously, we recorded these before 'AYP Festival Fest 2018 (Cancelled)' (Thanks, Barry) and then didn't upload them, but NOW IS AS GOOD A TIME AS ANY, RIGHT? Not least because next week there's going to be someone joining us, and not only will they be doing an Autophonography, but we'll be saying it right instead of calling it 'Audiophonography' like we've done for the last two weeks. This time, Mike's going to be taking an interrogation from John about preferred happy/sad songs, first albums, and #1 songs from the day he was born. In addition, there is a discussion about what you can call your kids in New Zealand. So that's fun!

Sara has left an indelible mark on the fitness industry as she continues to make her impact on fitness professionals worldwide. Stay In Touch With Sara SCW Website Sara's Website SCW Facebook Sara's Facebook Page SCW Instagram Show Notes We begin the show by reflecting back on how I remember first meeting Sara. Her event was the first fitness convention that ever I presented. I still remember the nerves that I felt, as I took to the stage for the first time. Sara’s memories go back a little further to the time when I was introduced to the Reebok Faculty as the new “face of Reebok.” Well, maybe you can imagine how that went down. Just like anything I needed to earn the trust (and respect) of the team and that was going to take a few years. Sara shares that inside her business she is always looking to hire people with stronger and different talents to her own. She believes that working this way elevates both her business and also her own path to success. Sara talks about how her father encouraged her from an early age to share her voice and have it heard by others and she goes on to talk about the importance of surrounding yourself with good people. People who will lift you up and see the best in you. She shares that while you can’t choose your family, you can choose your extended family and the people who will be there for you when things are going great and also there for you when you are in the struggles of life. During the more challenging times, if things are not going as planned Sara shares how her husband invited her to simply, “hit delete and move on.” Not always easy, but always worth it. Sara currently runs nine very successful conventions but we go back to a time where she had to cancel her first event due to a lack of attendance. She shares how she managed to get to the others side through the kindness of some vendors and presenters, and even in her darkest times, her husband would remind her of all that was still so good and positive in her life. We go back in time to the time when Sara first moved into the world of fitness. It began through the world of dance and she shares that it was only when she was dancing that she felt beautiful. She was also a runner at school and it was the combination of athletics and dance that brought the world of aerobics into her world. During her start as a fitness instructor, Sara attended the IDEA convention, which was and still is one of the most recognized fitness conventions in the United States. She loved every moment but realized that the cost was going to be prohibitive to attend every year. It was this thought that propelled her to create and develop her own fitness events. She began by renting space in a hotel, asking friends for help and Sara City Workouts was born. Sara shares her thought that not everyone needs to do fitness full time, and that teaching fitness part-time is a fantastic way to contribute to the industry. She then shares if you do want to try to move into fitness full time, to try different things and see which types of projects and people resonate with you and where you do your best work. Sara encourages us to take risks and to learn from our mistakes and the “seeming” failures that happen as we go for our dreams. She reminds us that what social media shows is only half of the story and for any success to happen we will have to have setbacks along the way. Sara believes the future of the wellness industry will be both in bricks and clicks, meaning both the online portals along with face to face connection. Sara believes that one of the best ways to get where you want to go is to simply show up, work hard and persevere. She invites us to choose carefully the people we choose to listen to and to schedule and plan our time carefully so that we can create our best future.

There's a fire between us, listeners, and a markedly different one, compared to the fire that exists between AYP and Babylon Zoo's debut album, 'the Boy With The X-Ray Eyes'. Mike decided it would be interesting to listen to an album by a certified one-hit wonder and, even now, it's hard to tell if he was right. You can get the full force of our reckoning by listening to the episode, and you can also hear our takes on this year's superhero movies, and which films to have sex to, if you fancy a challenge. Find out how brain research was put into practice at the Westfield-Washington School District in Westfield, Indiana where students are demonstrating great gains in individual performance. Students showed advancement of 1 year, 1 month using the Fast ForWord programs with an average use of 70 days for 30 minutes a day. 1552 students moved from the 37th percentile to the 61st percentile within an average of 74 days. More than half of the struggling learners moved up at least one level toward proficiency. Through the use of individualized, adaptive computer exercises, actual physical changes occur in the brain--enhancing skills necessary for reading and learning.

As our understanding of how people's brains work and how people learn has improved through neuroscience and cognitive science research over the years, we now see that the way we typically teach and test often doesn't match up well with how individual students learn. Using the theory of disruptive innovation, which describes how products or services that offer simplicity, affordability, and convenience transform a market that was previously dominated by complicated, expensive, and inaccessible ones, Michael Horn will describe how online learning is disrupting our notion of a classroom and how it offers the possibility of moving toward a student-centric learning system that is much more focused on different people's distinct learning needs.
The New Science of Learning is being created by the rapid growth in our scientific understanding of brain development and plasticity. Some recent research findings will be reviewed. The presentation will also review how neuroscience can be applied to the development of training tools that can help enhance literacy and learning in students.
