As we proceed into a new chapter we'll take a quick look back on what has transpired on The Tales of Archeron, The Tempests had traveled to Aztlan so they could fix their companion Brick who had a faulty core. Traveling and fighting through treacherous oceanic mountains, the Tempests sought out the necessary magical stones, and subsequently discovered some interfering cultists skulking about, and gained a new companion, Moriko - The Silent Blossom. Though they were unable to discover their motives the Tempests thwarted the cultists they came across and reported their presence to the Aztlan military. After killing and unkilling a rare creature to retrieve the final stones needed to craft Brick's new core, they returned to the mainland to find that Chichimec had been attacked by the same Cultists, damaging many of the forges within, slaying their beast of burden Cassie, and kidnapping both G3-MENI and Borgrir. With Chimali injured during the attack, Pez was an incredible asset in helping complete Brick's rebuild, updating not only his core, but his entire physical being. The ritual to transfer Brick's consciousness to his new body went off without a hitch... except for Brick attempting to make a joke that went off "swimmingly". With almost no time to prepare, the Empress of Aztlan, an Aarakocra named Izel, visited Chichimec to personally check in on the repairs and to meet the heroes who uncovered the cultist's meddling. Just in time for the Cultists to meddle once again with the Tempest's previous nemesis, Zephyrus. To complicate things further, another Greim joined the fray, but the Tempests were not to be bested and wiped the Cultists, and Saedhir's beast, off the face of Archeron... But not without casualties on their side as well. Hambjerger was slain during the fray. The Tempests accepted the Empress' offer to bring them back to Colatl to reward their good deeds and along the way, Pez had a heart to heart with Coyote about the loss of his little feathered friend. Accepting Coyote's deal, Hambjerger was revived within the Orc Lands and it is now up to Pez to overcome his fear to find his companion. Performing a ritual provided to them by Chimali, Cassie's spirit was infused into their wagon home, dubbing it "Cassie's Sanctuary". Though it unnerved a few in the party, their wagon home was now self propelling and sentient. The Tempests spent a few days in Colatl, the capital city of Aztlan, and were heralded as heroes to the empire and Moriko was introduced into civilization and the wonderful past time of candle licking. Visiting the temple to the local deity, a few of the Tempests sought out guidance and received some very clear directions. Following the whims of Tlazocoatl, the Tempests headed North towards Takatari with a slight detour up the Dragon Lover's Mountain where they were visited by both Tlazocoatl and Shenshe in the divine flesh. It was here that the Tempests received a blessing from the deities, Kasumi was given all of her tails back plus a curious vision, and Brick was gifted with a scale from Tlazocoatl to help aid in his desire to protect his family. - We rejoin the Tempests now as their skyship slowly descends down into the land of Takatari. Last time on “The Medusa's Cascade: Collateral Damage” the party connects with notable resistance member and proprietor of Herbal Delights, Alésia. She informed them of what she knew of the Web of Fate and said that she would offer aid to the party in what they were planning. Arguile, Shanks, and Salix met with Iggy, Lady Kree, and a familiar Aarakocra, Lenore. After tense negotiations and information gathering they reconvened at the tea shop. Meanwhile, Glad, Zechs, and Galahad go to a safe house and do their best to recover from that morning's fight. The group seems to be planning to take out members of the Web of Fate one by one, and it seems that Garron is the one in their sights. There's so much happening and that's where we pick up… Find out what happens next in this episode of the Medusa's Cascade: Collateral Damage! The group finds themselves with several members of The Shuffle Guild: Qho, an Aarakocra; Gojun, a Triton; Kivela, a Shifter; Inia, a Yuan-ti and Strohm, a Changeling. They exchange information and familiarize themselves with each other. Information is exchanged about Shank's current bounty, the other odd happenings on Granzia, and catch the Guild members on what happened on Zechs' first job. They agree to taking the night to rest and revel. Just as Strohm pours out drinks for everyone, Inia and Gojun bring Zechs upstairs for a debrief, as is standard protocol. He describes as best as he can, the last few weeks of his life and lets them know just what they're up against. Find out what happens next in this episode of the Medusa's Cascade: Collateral Damage! Welcome to the first episode of our new series ‘Monster Friends'! We're really excited about it and hope you are too. The Dungeons and Dragons Monster manual has a ton of entries in it, but we don't think it's fair to label all those creatures as ‘monsters'. We think a lot of them are probably pretty great and friendly. So in each episode of Monster Friends, Kyle and Alex take a look at a new creature and try to decide if they're fiends or friends. Alex takes a guess at what she thinks the monsters are good at and what they're all about, and then Kyle goes a little bit into the lore before we decide the fate of our potential new friends. In this episode we take a look at the majestic Aarakocra. Are they best friend material?
It's a bird! It's a plane! No wait, it's a bird, kinda...? Holy crap it's a birdperson! In this special mailbag episode, we congratulate our giveaway winner ( @onanymous ) by giving him the opportunity to control the topic of conversation! And he picked the 5e playable race that Dungeon Masters hate the most: Aarakocra! So with the limited lore, the difficult to find publication, and the lack of spotlight, what do we know about these bird people? Where do they come from, what can they do, and what do they want? For players, DM's, and just lovers of Dungeons & Dragons lore, this episode covers everything published to date about the speedy fliers who just can't leave their Rod alone. Aarakocra, ar-ah-KOH-krah, arrr-haaa-KOUH-kra? Don’t worry we’ll figure out how to pronounce it by the end of this episode. After making so many boring Humans, Jake brings an Arakocra as the race, which is a Bird Person! Yup, with wings. Check it out!
Our feywild friends and their Paladin companion make their way to the Glacial Glade and the town of Skyfall only to find a swirling lake with a glacier at the center and ice closing in all around them. The helpful green Aarakocra that they saved from death in the snow suggests that they row out to the glacier they are so intent to visit in ceremonial canoes. You know what that smells like to me? A SKILL CHALLENGE!
Our heroes build an embankment against the freezing cold and Awen uses a rather unique solution to get the fire started in order to warm up this green bird man whom was slowly freezing in the snow. Once he awakens he expresses concern that the forest is freezing over and it will only get worse if they try to make their way to Skyfall the Aarakocra village at the edge of the lake. Through some rather unorthodox persuasion they convince him to lead them through the snow storm as he can act as their guide and pick out the way posts through the blizzard.Unfortunately Awen seems to be struggling with her concentration for some unknown reason. It's almost like the magic of the Feywild isn't agreeing with her material plane senses. When they reach Skyfall Awen can't focus enough to tell if her missing friends are nearby. Thankfully Neam has a plan to go to the glacier and open a door. Neam Cave Painting: Find bird people live in birdy houses in the trees.
On today's episode, we talk about NPC interactions with other NPCs, look at the Shadowfell in the DMG, discuss our favorite and least-favorite feats, and wonder how exactly Aarakocra is pronounced.

I'm Mike, your DM and guide to all things dungeonesque and dragon-y. This episode is the end of season finale, and we're talking about Entertainers, Sorcerers, Jackalweres, and Volo. Heard Any Good Rumours Lately?WotC has been busy recently, in light of the Black Lives Matter movement and general social change of our time, adding disclaimers to some of its older content, which may be seen a racially or culturally insensitive, or gender biased. D&D includes many races and has never penalised players who choose to play any gender, which was already admirable, but these steps will continue to ensure that anyone can play without feeling excluded or maligned. Ultra Pro showed off their ultra-cute vinyl Figurines of Adorable Power during the D&D Live 2020 livestream, including adorable Mimics, Flumphs, Owlbears and more. I've already seen the Red Dragon figure for sale and have been tempted… 80's Tees now have a range of D&D based merch, both from the main game and from the 80's cartoon spinoff, and includes character armour hoodies that make you look like you're wearing the armour of Hank the Ranger, Bobby the Barbarian or Eric the Cavalier, with more to come. Off to the RacesNoneWe're skipping playable races in this episode, as we've actually covered all the races in the PHB. Now I know that there are many more playable races, but it seemed a good point to end the season, and give me time to buy one of the other sourcebooks. Do you think I should go for Vole's Guide to Monsters, which contains Aasimar, Goblins, Orcs, Kenku, Tabaxi, Yaun-ti and more, or perhaps Mordekainen's Tome Of Foes, that includes Gith, and… er, well, Eladrin. Let's be honest, in terms of continuing to make content, it's going to be Volo's. I will also be looking into the Elemental Evil Player's Guide, which add Genasi, Goliath and Aarakocra, (the latter of which was covered as a monster way back in EP 3.) as well as the Dungeon Master's Guide: The Tortle Package, which perhaps unsurprisingly, adds options for playing as a Tortle - giving you the option of playing a young Rogue - Essentially a Teenage Mutant Ninja Tortle? Sorry, couldn't resist. Tortle. Tortle. Tortle. Word has lost all meaning. Ok, I swear I'm done with the Tortle jokes now. Anyway, let me know which race has been your favourite that we've covered so far, which is your favourite D&D playable race overall, or which race you've not played as yet & want to. Also I'd love to hear your feedback on season 1. So far I only have one rating on iTunes, so that's one way of letting... Support this podcast
Things are really heating up this episode, and though the metal's not quite molten, it sure is moltin'. Aarakocra and kenku are back at it, as birds of a fetter concoct together. Dubilious tests his mettle with his metal test, as the party dubiously meddles with some testy canines. Dan Schneider lurks in the shadows, hungry for human-dragon flesh.
Aarakocra 5e Race Guide: https://www.skullsplitterdice.com/blogs/dnd/aarakocra-5e Soar like an eagle-folk! Denizens of the plane of air, the Aarakocra 5e race are the bird-folk of the D&D multiverse who roam the skies from isolated aviaries in the tallest of treetops and distant mountain peaks. Distinctly bird-like in both form and mentality, this entry from “The Elemental Evil Player's Companion” gives players the opportunity to take to the skies. Aarakocra can make for some unique and decidedly powerful characters, so let's take wing and go through everything you need to know. #aarakocra #aarakocra5e #dndaarakocra #5eaarakocra #aarakocrarace #skullsplitterdice #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #tabletopgaming #ttrpg #tabletopgames #rpg #dnddice #dnd5e Shop the best metal dice sets, D&D dice, and polyhedral dice for Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, Warhammer, Magic the Gathering and other RPG tabletop games. Amongst the shrouded Marble Mountains lies Cloudtop, the mysterious home of the Aarakocra nations. As Ched is reunited with his people and questions arise as to his reasons for leaving, the crew of Teliferous plan a vast, comprehensive plan to defeat an enemy capable of soaring through the ground freely. With only a week until the prophetic end to the Aarakocran people, there's no time to lose -- except, of course, the required half-hour of yakbutting.

Back aboard Teliferous, the crew encounters a flight of feathered friends on a dire quest. Setting aside petty squabbles about the Urkle Circle and potential sources of cash, the great treeship and its very motley crew take to the skies, headed for the mysterious lands of the Aarakocra in hopes of averting a disastrous prophecy. Episode TranscriptCold openWelcome to I Cast Pod, a D&D podcast about creating characters, taking chances, rolling dice and having fun. I'm Mike, your DM and guide to all things dungeonesque and dragon-y. I'm excited about this episode as this marks the transition to how I think the show will be going forward. I wanted to do episode 1 & 2 as beginner episodes and the focus going forward will still be learning and have the beginner in mind - but I wanted to create all new sections to discuss things like playable races and classes, as well as famous NPC's and characters from D&D, and loads of other good info. So let's get started. Heard Any Good Rumours Lately? On the 2nd June, Wizards of the Coast are releasing Mythic Odysseys of Theros, a new campaign sourcebook based in the Magic: The Gathering world of Theros, which adapts Greek Mythology for its setting. Players will choose a supernatural gift and then go on an epic quest across the realms of mortals, gods and the five realms of the underworld, pitting players against mighty heroes, imprisoned titans and prophecies, to leave their mark as a legend. The supernatural gifts work similar to character races mechanically and give your character a variety of traits. There will be new races available, drawn from myths such as Satyrs, Minotaurs or Leonin. There will be new subclasses available including ones for Bard and Paladin. New monsters will include...
