We tackle new video games, replay old classics, and even look into board games from time to time. If you have a suggestion for a game you'd like us to…

Join us on this mind bending episode where we venture into the brainscape of Tim Schafer, in Double Fine's "Jump and Click" Puzzle Platformer Psychonauts. From the "brilliant team" that did Brutal Legend, Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango, and more, we set up camp this month in this wacky world. From the 'boring' intro wish Sasha Nein, past the depths of Linda, all the way to the Meat Circus, we discuss the pros and cons of Psychonauts from the point of view of a busy gamer in 2021. Can this Cult Classic stand the test of time, and is that tested time worth the grind of psychic arrowheads and dealing with the Milkman's poor introduction of invisibility. While the busy boys are waiting for E3 to come to a close so they can fully ferment their opinions, enjoy this bonus extrasode while you wait for the Undertale Episode of No Time To Grind, coming out at the end of June! In this special "for-the-fans" episode, we discuss reviewing games - what makes a perfect game? Could you create the perfect formula to review a game? Can we forge an equation, simple or complicated? Or are we forever bound to the subjective estimation of reviewers? This is not just a one sided conversation, if you have anything to add, please, feel free to comment! Ever wondered if this cult classic is worth your busy time in 2021? Find out here! Objection! The busy boys try out the visual novel and puzzle game, Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney. The first one. We delve into the differences between the rereleased trilogy, available on PlayStation 4 and Switch, the midway point on Nintendo DS and iOS, and the OG on Game Boy Advance, which I don't think released to a western audience... Take that! From the wonderfully charming Maya, Mia, Edgeworth, and the titular Attorney himself, this Capcom classic has definitely cemented itself in the No Time To Grind repertoire of games. @ Matt's bad takes https://twitter.com/Mega_Matt_EX Watch him play Stardew https://twitch.tv/megamattex Check out our website https://notimetogrindpodcast.com Or even our facebook https://www.facebook.com/notimetogrindpodcast And check out our Monster Hunter Rise pronunciation guidehttps://youtu.be/_PGu02oDs8w Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - No Time To Grind Episode 83
So we have to formally apologize for our Monster Hunter Rise episode; there are now more Elder Dragons! We talk about MHR and more! Featuring the new Phasmophobia ghost type; Young Michael. Also, yes Yokai and Hantu have been announced. We venture into Lady Dimitrescu's home playing Resident Evil Village, we return to Stardew Valley, and drop into Fortnite Battle Royale. What the hell is this mixture? We also discuss the Playstation 5 semiconductor manufacturer change, and how we are progressing with our game of the month, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Michael the bard on the Hunting Horn, Adrian the Anime on the Dual Blades, and Matt the flippy on the Sword and Shield take on the latest entry of Monster Hunter, Monster Hunter: Rise. Is a switchaxe on the switch better than a lance guarding up on a home console? Is Monster Hunter Rise a game for a busy gamer? Find out in this episode, which has been specially formulated so you can find out and finish by 24:24, and then, if you haven't finished the game, you can bounce at around 33:00.. around then... In the Monster Hunter Rise extrasode, we discuss what we’ve been doing between in the month of April, we discuss monster hunter, monster hunter, monster hunter, in fact, we’re playing it right now. Matt puts his Omega Ruby Randomizer Nuzlocke to bed, Adrian has been 3D printing Dungeons & Dragons, and Michael played Tekken. Not recently, but he did play it back in the day. Should we cover a plethora of fighting games for 2022? Tekken, Street Fighter, Super Smash Bros, Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur… does.. does Twisted Metal count? No, it doesn’t. Matt tries to go down a dark path, but doesn’t quite get there until the end, so just hang tight. Anyway, back to Michael, he’s been playing Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and discuss the many ‘Revelations’ haha and changes towards Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This episode is less about just one game, but about game design itself. In this mammoth episode the boys go in depth on what it's like to play a game from 1993 in 2021 and how that translates for a busy gamer. Point and Click adventure titles seem to have dwindled in recent years, but how does a compelling tale about ancient African religions and German monster hunters hold up? The boys discuss the standardized verb systems used with games in that time, and the methodology of game direction. With a stellar cast of Tim Curry, Mark Hamill, Leah Remini, Virginia Capers and more, this point & click adventure title features Gabriel Knight, a budding novelist in New Orleans, investigating serial killings which is staged as acts of voodoo, but as he researches deeper, the possibility that voodoo is real starts to unfurl. We also dive into a small touch of PlayStation 5 and Monster Hunter: Rise. Between League of Legends and Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers, here is the in-between extrasode for March. Adrian speaks about how he won the Playstation 5 lottery, and has been playing all the beautiful next-gen 4k games! We get deep into the generational gap and the nuances of the next gen console. Adrian is happy with his purchase, Playstation 5 fo lyfe. But Adrian isn’t just adrift in the ocean of Playstation 5, he is also on board the stream boat with Matt, on twitch.tv/MegaMattEX where we finished through both chapters of Raft, the wonderful survival game. But Matt moved on from Raft to Pokemon Nuzlocke’s, which spurred on Michael’s current playthrough himself! They then take this moment to discuss the brand new announced Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, and Legends Arceus. We go into more depth including Pokemon Sword, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Valheim, Medieval Dynasty, Dwarf Fortress, Spider-Man Miles Morales, Demon Souls, Bugsnax. Well, anyway, the busy boys take on the biggest game in the world. No hyperbole. League of Legends holds many records for the most popular game of all time. Welcome to the fortnightly catch-up, where the rules are made up and the points don't matter. In fact, this description is more like a director's commentary where I type while I re-listen. Matt sure does love survival games, check that out at twitch.tv/megamattex seriously it's good. Just so you know, our minecraft server was a huge success, we had an infinite iron farm, an enormous villager trading post, blocks of netherite, and defeated the ender dragon. So we stopped playing Minecraft and started playing Raft. Between Smite and League of Legends, No Time To Grind is become its own battle arena. Adrian played Ratchet and Clank. Good for him. Michael's PC was met with a terrible fate, but I won't spoil that for you here, let's just say it was shocking! It was solved, thanks Michael's Father in Law! Michael also revisited the land of Skyrim, a decade of Nords fighting Imperials. Good stuff. Remember when Bethesda was good? Fallout 3, New Vegas, 4, TES: Morrowind, Oblivion. We get into our theory for Elder Scrolls 6 and Michael thinks everybody faces north at all times. I should have just used "generations" to describe the time gaps in Elder Scrolls, but I'll let you figure that out. Matt is a dirty little episode tease because he has no script and wants to talk about League of Legends. Since we recorded, we have played 1 match of pvp LoL and have a 100% win rate, here's the stats: Matt - Riven - 1/10/2 (maximum oof), Michael - Ekko - 4/2/8 (nice!), Adrian - Kayn - 21/3/4 god damn 3 Quadra Kills and MVP. Bloody Adrian over here being scared to match with smurf accounts and he's repping this 8+ KDA. We get into the ideas of matchmaking in LoL and compare it to Smite's, which is the only other MOBA we play. Adrian knows his Smite, that's for sure. How many people be queuing in multiplayer games? Well in League, against bots, people make their own bots. How dumb is that? God Matt is smart. and handsome. rate this podcast 5 stars. or share. or go to facebook.com/notimetogrindpodcast or all 3? you should do that. do it now. If you do not share this podcast and my stream with your friends you will be in ELO hell for your next 10 games. Oh snap, Smite Valentines Memes?! Bacchus is life, Bacchus is love. PlayStation 5 is never coming out. If you live in Perth, you got that Adventure World ref. Extrasode February 2021 Find out more at http://notimetogrindpodcast.com

We go into depth regarding D&D Beyond, the nuances of the classes and races of Faerun and the Sword Coast, and we even have an excellent supplementary episode, like Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything to the Player’s Handbook, we have a sister episode; The Night of Wintermas, so make sure you’ve subscribed and listened to that episode as well. While it’s hard to discuss such a large game like this, we pretty much nail it and the nuances that come into play regarding Dungeons and Dragons and the modern services it comes with. YOU CAN STOP AT AROUND 15:00 If you are a beautiful busy gamer! This may be a longer episode but it is well worth it! Welcome to DOUBLE DECEMBER! [SFX: Crowd - Cheering] Phasmophobia is a wonderful puzzling horror game, but it's still cooking, which leaves the busy boys divisive, from going into future hypothetical ghosts, evidence's (y'all got that EMF?), and hunts. Whether the sub objective is dirty water or just getting a temp below 10 degrees, we explore whether or not Phasmophobia is a game for a busy gamer. We go into our finale for the wonderful yet absolutely messed up year that has been 2020; Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. We delve into the games we've been playing alongside Phas, featuring such hits as Hades, Red Dead Redemption Online, and... NHL '16? Alright then. We then, very quickly, didn't take that long at all, talk about the Game Awards Game of the Year, The Last of Us Part II, and we do genuinely enjoy that game, so check out our episode on it, Ep 72. I love you, you love me, please share this to your friends, because that would be very nice. Maybe do a good 5/5 star rate? hmm? ty
WHOA! We revisit the orange rat that made Mario pee his pants. That’s right, Crash Bandicoot is better than Super Mario, Super Sonic, in fact, I would go so far as to say that Crash should be the next Smash Bros fighter so he can take his place as king of all video game mascots. That’s what you get for acting da Mickey, Adrian. Before Naughty Dog ruined Laura Bailey’s social media inbox and tarnished our eyes, much like The Last of Us 2, the phenomenal gameplay (see, I can compliment tlou2 as well) has led the busy boys to award Crash 3 as the fifth busy boy certified game! Forgive the quality, we're dealing with some classic 2020 Government-mandated Isolation. And yet, still, we completed Batman: Arkham Asylum, two of us finished Arkham City, and one of us started Arkham Knight. Cyberpunk 2077 – delays have meant we had to re-work our calendar, and we chose our lifepath for Cyberpunk, getting excited and organized. Adrian has become a professional Magic: The Gathering: Arena player, and because of that, Adrian smacks down Hearthstone. Get yourself a toilet game! So it's halfway through our playthrough of The Last of Us: Part II, and how do we feel? Misguided optimism comes to mind. Michael asks if Grand Theft Auto Online is the best multiplayer game (spoilers, it aint) but we talk about what we want in a multiplayer game in general. Like, what would the perfect Soulslike game be? And if you want to go to our kickstarter for Soulsbound, too bad, you can't. Demon Souls, look out, Dark Souls is here. Speaking of threats, The Legend of Zelda is up against Crystalis and StarTropics, biding for Michael's attention between his days in seattle, and Adrian grieves on his experience's with Obsidian's Outer Worlds (and a little bit of joy with Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order).
