Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Emmy Winning Actress, Author and Animal Advocate, Carolyn HennesyAbout Harvey's guestA Los Angeles native and self proclaimed studio-brat, Carolyn has been in over 100 theatrical productions spanning the LA, regional and international theatre scenes.   If you ask her nicely she'll recite the list of her plays for you and then she'll recite it again…backwards.  Having trained at American Conservatory Theatre and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London as well as earning a dramatic scholarship to the California State University at Northridge, she has played such distinguished houses as the Mark Taper Forum, Arizona Theatre Company and the Geary Stage.  She also studied with the Groundlings in the early ‘90s and became a member of the Sunday Company.  From there she moved to the main company at the ACME Comedy Theatre and was a founding member of the all-female improv troupe, “Ovaryaction”.  She is the 2001 recipient of the prestigious Natalie Schafer Award for Outstanding Comedic Actress given by the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle and has been featured as an “Actor's Actor” in the industry publication Backstage-West.   Among other accolades, the LA Stage Alliance has honored her with an Ovation Award, which she hosted in 2011, and in 2010 she added the words “Emmy nominated” (General Hospital) to her list of achievements. Most recently,  Carolyn dazzled as the deliciously vicious “Rosalyn Harris” on Alan Ball's critically acclaimed HBO series TRUE BLOOD.  Hennesy joined the cast for the fifth season of the sleek vampires-meet-world saga and fast became a fan favorite.  As Rosalyn, the ageless vamp with a Texas twang, Hennesy was at the top of her game, tossing one-liners like firecrackers, occasionally enjoying a juicy stake, and gleefully partaking in old-timey interrogation.Prior to TRUE BLOOD, Hennesy is best known for her memorable work as “Barb Coman” on ABC's COUGAR TOWN and for an Emmy nominated run as “Diane Miller” on ABC's GENERAL HOSPITAL.  Kids across America also know her as the hilariously haughty Mrs. Chesterfield on Disney Channel's JESSIE.  On the big screen, Hennesy's credits include CLICK starring Adam Sandler, LEGALLY BLONDE 2 with Reese Witherspoon, and TERMINATOR 3 starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.Hennesy's creative endeavors also include a successful career as a writer.  She created the wildly popular “Pandora” (Bloomsbury USA) children's book series as well as penned the New York Times Bestseller “The Secret Life of Damian Spinelli” (Hyperion).  To see more, click on “Books.”When not on set, Hennesy is privileged to lend her time and talent to a number of causes including caring for our wounded warriors and helping those with debilitating physical issues regain their self-esteem, but chief among all causes is the issue of animal rescue. Now, all of that is well and good, but the big news is that Carolyn has become a flying trapeze artist.  No lie.  Just look at her hands.  If you really want to get her talking, just ask her, “Hey Carolyn, how's that layout coming along?!”For more interviews and podcasts go to: https://www.harveybrownstoneinterviews.com https://carolynhennesy.com/https://www.facebook.com/pages/Carolyn-Hennesy-Fan-Page/219399211420702https://twitter.com/carolynhennesy#carolynhennesy  #harveybrownstoneinterviews

On this episode of Talking Late Night, Max interviews Tara Ochs, a performer, improviser, writer of her own one-woman show "White Woman in Progress," and actress in the critically-acclaimed movie "Selma." Tara realized her love for performing at a young age when she would reenact Saturday Night Live sketches for her church. When she went to college at Florida State University, she got involved with the Wham-O Players (the group who would later form Dad's Garage Theatre Company). After graduating, Tara moved to Atlanta to pursue a career in theatre and comedy (and also to improvise with Dad's!). She's performed all over (Los Angeles, London, Berlin, the Ocean) with a lot of different people (Damon Wayan's "The Underground," ComedySportz LA, ACME Comedy Theatre, London TheatreSports, Second City). Tara also acted in the movie "Selma," playing the role of Viola Liuzzo. This role led her to write her one-woman show entitled "White Woman in Progress," which ran in early 2017 at 7 Stages Theatre in Atlanta. You can find Tara performing and teaching regularly at Dad's Garage, follow her on Twitter, and check her out as VP of Development over at Picture It Productions! Thank you for tuning in! Today's Guest: Jonathan Bennett, actor, Van Wilder: Freshman Year, Mean Girls Order 'Van Wilder: Freshman Year' starring Jonathan Bennett, available from Amazon.com by clicking on the DVD cover above! When I was a freshman at the University of Miami back in 1978, Animal House was all the rage and the coolest guys on campus wanted to be like “Otter,” played by Peter Riegert. He knew all the girls, glided through school and was envied by all the guys. Well, it’s 30 years later—damn, where did the time go—and now all the young college dudes want to be like another National Lampoon character: Van Wilder. There have been two Van Wilder movies and two talented actors who played the smooth, suave young dude: Ryan Reynolds—whatever happened to him?—and my guest tonight, Jonathan Bennett, who starred in National Lampoon’s Van Wilder: Freshman Year. JONATHAN BENNETT podcast excerpt: "There are more Vans down in the pipeline... I will play Van Wilder until I'm 90, I love that character so much. We can do Van Wilder: The Senior Years and do it in the retirement home!" A heavy responsibility befalls the man who wears the crown of a guy like Van Wilder, the model of horny, party-going young men everywhere, but I suspect Young Master Bennett can handle the pressure—he’s made a cottage industry of being second to step in time-honored roles, including starring as Bo Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning. You may have also seen him in Mean Girls as Lindsay Lohan’s boyfriend, Bachelor Party Vegas, opposite Kal Pen of Harold & Kumar fame, or in the Steve Martin movie Cheaper By the Dozen 2 as Bud McNulty. But this Saturday night, September 19 at 8 p.m., he faces a real challenge as celebrity host of Acme Comedy Theatre’s “Acme Saturday Night.” Jonathan Bennett Twitter • Facebook • Instagram • Wikipedia • IMDB • Cake Wars on Food Network Kicking Through the Ashes: My Life As A Stand-up in the 1980s Comedy Boom by Ritch Shydner. MAYIM BIALIK AUDIO EXCERPT: "There are people who are very protective over Sheldon. But what would it look like if there was a possibility of compatibility for Sheldon? Will she be Sheldon's girlfriend in the fall? Is this the biggest development since Schrodinger’s Cat? While we’re all waiting to find out, you’ve got another opportunity to see the many sides of Mayim Bialik. Honey chile, the spirits of Tennessee Williams, Faulkner and Margaret Mitchell were all circling the roof of the "DC Studios", as Luke tried to keep up with two bad ol' boys from the South! When Jamey and Christian weren't cuttin' up, talking in affected, over-the-top Southern accents about sketch comedy, the theatre, the fine art of Southern fried put downs and sugar tits, Christian managed to reveal which of his 3,745 Daytime Emmys means the most to him. He also waxed poetic about the art of transforming a dastardly soap villain into a beloved hero. But does he miss "Evil Michael"? His answer may surprise you. LeBlanc also talks about what it's like working with several of his lovely leading ladies, Tracey Bregman (Lauren), Michelle "The Staff" Stafford (Phyllis) and Lauralee Bell, who recently reprised the role of Michael's one-time stalking victim Christine "Cricket" Blair Grainger Romalotti Williams. He also discussed his thoughts on the Sarah Smythe storyline and Michael and Lauren's current scenes opposite the newly-christened Jill Fenmore (Jess Walton). Is he excited about former As The World Turns' leading lady Maura West coming to Genoa City as Michael's former co-conspirator Diane Jenkins? You'll have to download the podcast to find out. Speaking of World Turns, what are LeBlanc's thoughts on the soap where he got his start, coming to an end this September? The New Orleans native— who still owns property there— also speaks to the amazing resilience of his people, who are continuing to rebuild the Crescent City after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina five years ago. This Podcast on a Hot Tin Roof will go down as one of the most insanely-soaptasic hours Luke and Jamey have ever attempted to host.

Jackson Montgomery is back, and we've got him! On today's episode of the Daytime Confidential podcast, Luke and Jamey talk to All My Children veteran and all around nice guy Walt Willey, who recently reprised his signature role as Erica Kane's most enduring lover on the sudser. This Friday, April 9 at 9 pm Willey will be appearing at SoCal's hottest spot for sketch comedy, ACME Comedy Theatre, where he will be hosting "Unscripted Hollywood Dream Role". "He's held up good since the white van days," Willey quips. Then the discussion shifts, of course, to what it's like for Willey to be back in Pine Valley— by way of Los Angeles instead of New York— and to be working again with the likes of Rebecca Budig, Vincent Irizarry, Julia Barr, and of course the unforgettable Susan Lucci. McCarty's new Direct-to-DVD adult film Flawless: From Beauty Queen to Porn Queen is on sale now from Vivid Entertainment. From TMZ, to Perez Hilton, to Entertaiment Tonight, everyone in Hollywood was talking about McCarty. On today's episode of the Daytime Confidential podcast, McCarty reveals all about her controversial career move to Luke and Jamey.McCarty talks with DC about what led to her embarking on such an uncharted career path. She tells how she pitched the idea for Flawless, and served as a co-writer on the project. McCarty explains why she strove to make Flawless the type of adult film that appeals to women, as well as men. She admits to being nervous about how her new venture will be perceived. Will her Passions fans be receptive to Flawless? Did the current state of the U.S. economy and lack of roles for actors facing a streamlined pilot season and a potential SAG Strike play a factor in her decision to do porn? Most importantly, what would Passions' Edna (Kathleen Noone) have to say?The soap vet shares her brief encounters with late Passions creator James E. Reilly, and weighs in on the poignance of Passions being cancelled shortly before his death. Is McCarty still in touch with any of her daytime costars like Galen Gering or McKenzie Westmore, both of whom have returned to soaps, if so, what are their thoughts on Flawless? Is McCarty afraid her adult film turn will prevent a possible return to daytime in the future? Her answers might surprise you.The Miss USA 1991 then offers her perspect on the pageant mom phenomenon, made notorious by the Jon Benet Ramsey Case, as well as movies like Little Miss Sunshine and the upcoming WE reality show Little Miss Perfect. Finally, McCarty talks about her stint tonight, hosting ACME this Week, the popular sketch comedy show, that has boasted Ilene Kristen, Bryan Datillo, Tichina Arnold (Everybody Hates Chris) and Arianne Zucker as recent hosts. Will McCarty spoof her soap career? Her pageant career? Her porn career? All of the above? It's an interview you won't want to miss. Then for those of you in Los Angeles, head on over to Acme Comedy Theatre, located at 135 N La Brea Avenue, L.A., 90036, at 8 pm to catch the show.
