This film was directed by Simon McQuoid, is based on the video game series and is a sequel to the 2021 film, which was also directed by McQuoid. The film sees Jessica McNamee, Mechod Brooks, Ludi Lin, Lewis Tan, Josh Lawson, Chin Han & Hiroyuki Sanada all return to their respective roles but are also joined by the likes of Karl Urban, Adeline Rudolph, Tati Gabrielle & Martyn Ford. In this film, a new combatant is chosen to join a team of fighters to defend the realm of Earth from an evil emperor who seeks to enslave the realms. After the first was a mediocre success, New Line quickly began production on a sequel but due to delays and the 2023 SAG-AFTA strikes, the film wouldn't conclude until January 2024 despite most of the film being completed. The film hit theaters on May 8th, 2026.

Troy Kinne is an award-winning comedian, actor, writer, producer and director. In the early days of his stand-up comedy career, Troy won almost every new comic competition in Australia. The Comic's Lounge ‘You Gotta be Joking' competition saw him receive the prize of a trip to New York to attend the American Institute of Comedy. He went on to perform at several well-known clubs in the U.S. including Caroline's on Broadway, Stand Up New York, Gotham Comedy club, the Laugh Factory, The Hollywood Comedy Store and The Comedy Cellar.  On returning to Australia Troy became a sought-after headline act for The Australian Armed Defence forces, Mining camps and Comedy clubs around the country. In 2010 Troy added some steady work alongside the comedy club circuit, becoming a content producer for the Fifi and Jules radio show and hosting his own regular segment interviewing celebrity guests such as Seth Rogen, Josh Lawson, Simon Pegg and DJ Havana Brown. Troy has made guest appearances on TV and radio including Nova FM's Hughsie and Kate for breakfast, Hamish & Andy, Chrissie, Sam and Brownie, Have You Been Paying Attention, The Hundred with Andy Lee and The Comedy Channel's Stand-Up Australia. Remember a scant 12 years ago when, if you wanted to see election stupidity, you likely had to watch a comedy movie? A movie like the subject of this week's review, “The Campaign”, where you see all kinds of crazy hi-jinks. Of course, most of the zany stuff you see in this movie seems quaint compared to what you see in our elections nowadays. This year's presidential election is why I'm reviewing this Will Ferrell/Zach Galifianakis political comedy where Ferrell plays Cam Brady and Galifinakis plays Marty Huggins. They're both running for a congressional seat and Marty, the newcomer to the political game, finds out how sick and depraved running for office actually is. Marty isn't what you'd call your typical steak and eggs, iron-jawed, hard hat-wearing, sports-lovin', rugged man's man. The donors pretty much running his campaign, the Motch Brothers played by John Lithgow and Dan Aykroyd, send their man to “man” Marty up. Cam is the corrupt veteran congressman and he's bound and determined to make Marty sorry he even thought about running. That just fires Marty up even more to beat Cam but will it change him for the worse? Is it worth finding out? One of the first questions I got asked when forming the idea of Not Your Average IV User: “Who is the audience?” “Everyone.”, I thought. Have we not all been, in some way, effected by the opioid epidemic and overdose crisis? In reality, though, I know you can't be everything to everyone. That's especially hard when you're content revolves around one of the most hotly debated, controversial, and polarizing topics around. Every episode of NYAIVU invites an individual guest to tell their story; to hopefully address specific topics or stigmas about addiction; to provide some education about substance use disorders, their treatment, & recovery pathways; to give a little hope. Our first 10 episodes have revolved around people who are actually in recovery. In Ep. 011, we welcome Josh Lawson, our first non-recovery guest to talk about his experience. Josh refers to himself and a recovery ally.
