Welcome back to the Independent Filmmaker's Guide. In today's episode we dive right into one of the later challenges along the filmmaking journey - getting your film in front of your potential audience. How to actually break through with ratings and reviews in key places. The landscape is always changing and tomorrow it may be different. In the meantime, these particular algorithms on streaming platforms hold a lot of sway as to what movies actually get "shelf space" in their store. With this in mind, we here at IFG share the great news that our indie horror film HERD (Steven Pierce, James Allerdyce, Matt Mundy) is now released in the US and in an increasing number of other territories around the world. But in order to take advantage of all of this potential exposure we ask our listeners directly for their support. As we often do with podcasts but rarely seem to do in film, we talk about the importance of not just watching indie films but rating and reviewing them as well.In that, we also tackle the pivotal role of indie filmmakers in shaping a vibrant film industry, especially in light of recent strikes against the AMPTP. More so, we extend an invitation to you - yes, you, our treasured listeners - to join this journey. By watching, rating, and reviewing HERD, you're not simply showing support; you're helping independent films prove their worth in a sea of studio-backed blockbusters. And in this digital era, your ratings and reviews directly impact a film's positioning and success. And a special shoutout to the wonderful people of Poplar Bluff, Missouri - as well as Doniphan and Van Buren...your support and graciousness to our cast and crew are at the center of what made shooting this film possible.Links mentioned in the show:to follow the herd, and see more information about the movie, visit HERD.filmWatch/Stream on AppleTV or PrimeUK DVD reviewUK DVD purchaseRate/Review on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDbIFG is created by Framework Productions, produced and hosted by Steven Pierce, James Allerdyce, and Matt Mundy. Well it's been what feels like forever ago that we released an interview episode for everyone. This one is something very special and unique for the show as its an independant Action/Horror movie made by friend of the show Rob Davidson called "The Ultimate Throwdown"! We were put in touch with Rob by show supporters Bobby and James (Witch House) because they knew we'd be a good fit to help showcase the amazing amount of work being put into this project. Rob gives everyone an excellent look at the movie making process from an independant level as well as some behind the scenes of what are guaranteed to be some amazing stunts in the film. This episode is completely spoiler free as even we haven't seen it yet (just some amazing clips Rob shared with us beforehand)! So please listen along and hear the passion Rob has for this project and maybe gain a better understanding of the movie making process....Enjoy!

In this week's episode Cody and Zach discuss their thoughts on a couple of shows and movies that they were excited about at the beginning of the year, providing their thoughts now that said projects are out. With the release of Kenobi, Cody shares his initial impressions of the first couple of episodes and his general concerns. This leads to a discussion between the guys of how “good” Star Wars actually is. Despite modern pessimism towards the franchise, it is important to remember that it has roots in greatness. For the main topic of this week's episode, Cody and Zach discuss the Action-Horror hit of 1999, The Mummy. While this movie might be standard action material, it does quite a few good things within the story that make it a very easy and enjoyable watch. The world was a different place in 1999 and our standards for a blockbuster were much different, but this is one that the guys believe has stood the test of time. The modern blockbuster really could learn a lot from the success of films like the Mummy and late 90's and early 2000's mega hits, especially if there is going to be success in the cinema outside of massive superhero franchises.Listen to the audio podcast of the show here: https://www.steellakestudio.com/parallelquestBuy Zach's newest book, Beast of Big Bear Forest: https://www.steellakestudio.com/booksSign up for our E-MAIL LIST: https://www.steellakestudio.com/emailThank you so much for checking out Parallel Quest. Stranger Things, the mega-hit Netflix series, was created and is executive produced by The Duffer Brothers. But before Stranger Things very early in their career, the filmmaking brothers wrote the screenplay for ROAD TO MOLOCH, based on a short story by director Robert Glickert.ROAD TO MOLOCH is an eerie action-horror short film about a reconnaissance team of Marines sent on a mission to find U.S. soldiers missing in the vast desert of Iraq. Instead, what they encounter is an ancient, malevolent evil.EPISODE LINKSWatch ROAD TO MOLOCH: https://youtu.be/PlZC0WN4VYQMore about The 7th Matrix:Support the EYE ON SCI-FI Podcast & The 7th Matrix: https://the7thmatrix.com/support or directly via PayPal: https://paypal.me/the7thmatrixCash App: https://cash.app/$The7thMatrix Or Venmo: https://account.venmo.com/u/the7thmatrixFollow EYE ON SCI-FI on Twitter: https://twitter.com/eosfpodcastFollow The 7th Matrix On Twitter: https://twitter.com/the7thMatrixFollow The 7th Matrix On Instagram: https://instagram.com/the7thMatrixPodcast Intro music: "I Succumb" by António Bizarrohttps://freemusicarchive.org/music/Antnio_Bizarro/City_of_Industry_Slow_Gun/
“Alone In The Dark” es otra propuesta que maneja dichos elementos. Ejemplos: “Dead Space”, “Let 4 Dead”, “The Last Of Us”. Ejemplos: “Five Nights At Freddy's”. Ejemplos: “Dead By Daylight”, “Friday The 13th: The Game”. January of 2017 is an over stylized, over the top, Action/Horror month with a new Underworld, a new (and last) Resident Evil and (not so much Horror) xXx film so why not throw in another film from the same era? That's right, we talked to Kate Beckinsale (and her booty) and she agreed to come back for the second week in a row in a Vampire/Werewolf thriller. Honestly, we all kind of wish this spawned a new Universal Monster franchise even if that is an unpopular decision. This episode contains spoilers to this film and possible other movies.www.undergroundinc.infowww.facebook.com/undergroundinc3www.twitter.com/UndergroundInc3www.thepodcastarcade.com
