You see, that night as a struggling teenager, Aaron changed his mindset. He decided he was going to take action to achieve his goals and live the life he wanted. He shares with us how this mindset has evolved over time: Learning the importance of having increasingly big goals, finding passion in the challenges you take on, and keeping things simple. Singer (Author) Effect On Emotions Number one is that mindfulness made me aware that I'm not my emotions. Therefore I have the ability to either touch them or don't touch them. That obviously gives me a lot more clarity in my life. Thoughts On Breathing I love cathartic breathing. How wonderful it is to take three deep breaths; you know, that's part of the relaxed release. Just drop your shoulders, it just releases and you know, the parasympathetic and sympathetic systems that are going through our bodies. If we can reconnect those and align those in through breath. It's just that, by the way, it's really funny; breathing is the only thing that we can control, and then if we don't want to it controls itself. It's autonomous. Breathwork is one of those amazing things that if you still want to pay attention to it, it breathes on its own. But yet, if you want to pay attention to it, you can breathe on your own. Bullying Story There's a situation right now with one of my daughters. She is caught in a bullying situation. I was just responding to this individual. When I grew up, I was actually bullied quite a bit in a different way. We didn't have cyberbullying, which I think is even worse today. Because I explained to my kids who are 11, nine, and seven. Back when I was growing up, if there was an issue, we unfortunately often got into a physical fight. But it was just different back then. Like it was at school where it happened, but then when we went home, it was it was done. We didn't deal with it anymore. People were not writing notes and leaving them in your mailbox every day, right? Now it's even more difficult because when a kid goes home, all sudden, the bullying goes to the social media networks. On this episode, Adam Hergenrother discusses the concept of the 200% life, which includes both the outer world and inner world, in a presentation from October 2022. Adam explains that many people believe rearranging external factors will make them feel good internally, but this approach ultimately doesn't work. Instead, he suggests waking up each morning okay with everything and finding inner peace. Adam emphasizes that roles in life do not define who we truly are and discusses the ego as a self-concept based on personal experiences. He also highlights the importance of accepting what happens in life and finding true freedom. Additionally, examples are given to illustrate that having money does not guarantee happiness or fulfillment. Adam concludes with encouraging listeners to be aware that they are not their bodies and to recognize their constant internal voice through meditation.

Have you heard of a Force Multiplier?A Force Multiplier serves as the behind-the-scenes, right-hand person to the CEO or founder of an organization. This term was coined by Adam Hergenrother (CEO and Founder) and Hallie Warner (Chief of Staff) with Adam Hergenrother Companies, who have been working together for over 12 years. The Founder and the Force Multiplier is a concept that started with a blog that later became a book, then a movement, and now an organization. But Adam didn't hire Hallie to become a Force Multiplier. He hired her to be a Marketing Assistant, and after about 3 months of working together, he realized that she would become his Executive Assistant (it took 6 or 7 Executive Assistants before finding her!). Now, Hallie serves as the Chief of Staff, and Adam considers her his Business Partner. In this episode, Adam explains the three most important things a Founder must do: cast a vision, provide clarity and direction, and make quality decisions every day.But if the Founder is unclear on what the vision is and struggles to provide clarity and direction to others, making good decisions becomes much more difficult, and too much time is spent making decisions on 80% of the things that don't matter.I had to pause Adam here: Why 80%? Where did that number come from?He referenced the Pareto Principle (also known as the 80/20 Rule): 80% of X is caused by 20% of Y. (Here is an example: 80% of results come from 20% of actions.)These 80% of decisions can be handed off to someone who has the ability to think like an entrepreneur, while the CEO or founder focuses on the 20% of decisions that move the needle forward.Basically, Force Multipliers and CEOs are like Batman and Robin. And what's really cool? The CEO/founder isn't Batman. Intrigued? Wanna know more about Force Multipliers, how to find them, and the hiring process? Gotcha covered! What does it mean to play checkmate with life? In this episode, Hallie and I discuss the concept of accepting what life gives you and becoming okay with everything. We dive into the concept that when you reach this state of mind, there is nothing to lose, and you become fearless because you know that whatever you need will show up. This doesn't mean you don't play big in life, but instead, you are part of the experience and accept the way things are.We also explore the idea that whatever experience you're having is meant for you to have. It's about being okay with the way things are, not the way you want them to be. Instead of trying to manipulate the chess pieces of life, you can lay down your king and stop resisting the flow of life. Once you do that, you're already free. Hallie and I continue our conversation on free will, diving into the concept of transcendence. We discuss how beliefs are shaped by experiences and perspectives, the idea of absolute truth, and how the ego can influence our perception of the world. We talk about the difference between willpower and free will, the effects of transcending beliefs, and the role of determinism. We explore the idea that beliefs are fine, but transcending them is really where the clarity and forward momentum lie, and knowing that can help us not label everything as good or bad, but enjoy just having the experience. Are you in charge of every decision you make, or are you merely a puppet on the strings of the source of consciousness? This week, Hallie and I played around with the concept of free will, and whether we have it or if our life is already predetermined. This is a topic that comes up quite often when people wonder if they are on the right path in life, or when they seek the answer to whether or not they are doing what they are truly meant to be doing. Our aim for this conversation is not to be right, but to encourage people to think about life and our choices in a new way. We discuss the differences between determinism, fatalism, and free will, and how our choices may have more to do with past experiences than we think. Hallie and I explore the idea that there may be a predetermined destiny, but we still have the power to make choices along the way. Despite what some may think, the goal of leadership is not about getting what you want or controlling others. In fact, leadership is an action that requires a lot of listening and doing tough inner work. This week, Hallie and I talk about how to lead with and without a title and the character traits required for both. We talk about the upside of being a good leader and how it impacts the whole organization, how a great leader knows when to listen and let others lead, and a few of the signs that leadership might not be for someone depending on their expectations, and their ability to surrender and communicate their vision. As we continue our series on wealth, we recap that being rich doesn't necessarily mean being wealthy. It's especially important to have conversations around money and wealth in this changing economy, which is affecting people's habits and earnings, and to become aware of your own thoughts and feelings around money. Hallie and I openly discuss the money messages we got growing up and how this information can free you from limiting beliefs and help you gain greater awareness and understanding. It's okay to play in the outside world, but you'll gain more clarity when you do the inner work and really sort through your relationship with money.Mentioned in this episode:Registration is open for Project | U Unbound!Project | U Unbound is the next iteration of the Project | U full-immersion leadership coaching program designed by Adam Hergenrother after over 15 years of deep work and learning, hundreds of hours of classroom preparation, and thousands of individuals coached and led to become a more peaceful, fulfilled, and true version of themselves. Despite the challenges for entrepreneurs created by the pandemic, many businesses have experienced explosive growth in the past few years. When organizations rapidly expand, it can be easy for leaders and team members to lose cohesive vision. Successful leaders recognize and utilize their own strengths and empower team members to do the same. Another important role for an executive is making meaningful decisions every day that push the company toward clearly communicated goals. Sometimes that means onboarding an executive assistant or chief of staff to share the responsibilities of leadership. An executive assistant maximizes efficiencies by allowing everyone to work within their strengths, including the founder. In this way, the force multiplier aids the executive in offering descriptive and prescriptive points of action so that everyone is operating at maximum potential. One of the best parts about adding an executive assistant to the leadership team is that it creates accountability to prevent burnout. Adam and Hallie work diligently to be proactive against corporate burnout by building mindfulness and wellness into their daily routine. Leading by example, they encourage team leaders to create a schedule that includes regular check-ins and one-on-one time so that they have a pulse on the community. Another way they prevent burnout is through intentional hiring and onboarding processes. As thriving business leaders, their goal is to find team members who are aligned with the organization's vision. By working in tandem, they are living examples of how partnership at the top level creates a powerhouse organization that produces high-impact products and services. The Power of Founder & Force Multiplier Manal Keen, CEO of Founder & Force Multiplier brings passion and commitment to every conversation. In this conversation, Manal gives us her story, the drive behind her biggest why, as well as a good overview of the book The Founder & The Force Multiplier. We won't give too much away, but her career journey toward her “why” is amazing – relatable and inspiring. She excelled in the male-dominated field of financial services, holding various roles in large financial institutions heading finance and strategy positions. (Eye-opening fact that she shares: females currently manage fewer than 2% of assets under management.) Wanting to make a bigger difference and impact women and minorities in a more direct way, Manal is going to help lead the way to change that fact through her new roles as the first female adjunct professor at the University of North Texas in Denton to teach investments. Additionally, Manal is part of the Investment Management Board focused on driving internship opportunities for females, minorities, and students in underserved communities. But she's not stopping there! Manal reconnected with Adam Hergenrother and became fascinated by the story of how the strategic partnership between Adam and Hallie Warner allowed Adam to become a serial entrepreneur. Going from blog, to book, to movement requires new strategic partners and Manal is all in as this opportunity meets her passion for teaching, mentoring and inspiring business leaders. This already includes a recently launched podcast, a curriculum, white papers and much more to come. A few insights from our conversation with Manal: A clear definition on the role of Force Multiplier and key distinction among operation manager, executive assistant, and chief of staff. The foundation of successful partnerships is a shared vision and values. Success in these partnerships is predicated in strong communication: open mind, constructive feedback, and trust. Soft skills aren't so soft, are they? Leveraging the 80/20 rule-with intention, by design, and with collaboration. We thank Manal for sharing her passion and commitment with us. His other work enables many of us to join two seemingly opposing forces–business and spirituality. Armed with the question that stumps many people, Pam asks Adam how he lives authentically. Adam answers the question profoundly. “[Living authentically] Really, ultimately means just aligning yourself with who it is that you truly are–beyond the egoic level of consciousness.[...] It's beyond what you're doing in the world. It's the experience that you're having in life.” He says that for him, at least, it's about accepting that he is “perfectly not perfect.” He believes in “tasting life directly, which means removing yourself from the conscious velcroing of the mind.”Later on in the episode, we transition into a conversation on something that Adam is very familiar with–the merging of business and spirituality. Specifically, Pam asks Adam about grappling with his own sense of self-worth and then building his business empire. From there, he gives us two insightful tales about his life and the moments where he felt that he could either accept a situation or do something and change it. He tells us about a simple interaction at the dinner table with his mother that blew away his preconceived notions about what was truly worth a lot in life. He goes on to talk about the massive impact that spirituality and the right mindset can have on how you conduct business as a whole and even how you deal with a business situation that didn't work in your favor–a discussion that can prove extremely insightful for leaders everywhere. Towards the end of episode 112, Pam asks Adam specifically how he works with companies to instill a commitment to growth within their organization? Adam says, “Number one, it starts with me coming in,” and “We try to bring in that hey, it looks like you're a little velcroed to that thought right now. What would it look like if you weren't?” He goes on to tell us that even something as simple as a quick break in a meeting can relieve tension and break those thoughts that many people get velcroed on, which is just what a lot of organizations need at the moment.
