In this episode, Cindy Esliger explores the difference between acceptance and resignation. When career roadblocks present themselves, there's a temptation to throw up our hands in despair and resign ourselves to defeat. But a better option is acceptance. Cindy explains how acceptance means seeing the situation for what it is and guides us on how to make the most of it. The differences between resignation and acceptance are the differences between giving up and channeling our frustration into something productive. When we're passed over for a promotion or someone else takes credit for our idea, it's unfair and annoying but resignation is about giving up in despair. It gets us nowhere. Instead, acceptance allows us to say that life isn't fair but allows us to brainstorm our next move forward. It keeps us productive. Cindy shares three tips for maintaining career goals and ambitions while still calling out bad behavior when warranted: 1) Pick our battles, 2) Build a support system, and 3) Protect our energy. Cindy delves into how each step can assist with processing our feelings of frustration and anger without giving in to them. She instructs us on how to turn that disappointment into action with a properly measured response. Acceptance is not giving up. It's what keeps us moving despite roadblocks. Find the 9 Points Rating System Here: https://www.alostplot.com/9-points/ In this episode of A Lost Plot, Maverick and Avalon discuss the 2000 film Memento directed by Christopher Nolan. The film follows the story of Leonard, a man with short-term memory loss, as he tries to find the person who killed his wife. The unique aspect of the film is its reverse chronology, where scenes are shown in reverse order. The hosts discuss their initial impressions of the film, the use of reverse chronology, and the impact of the storytelling technique. They also analyze the main character, Leonard, and the side characters, Natalie and Teddy, and how their development and revelations shape the story. The conversation explores the character of Teddy and his motive, as well as the revelations surrounding Leonard's backstory and his development throughout the film. In this conversation, Avalon and Maverick discuss the themes of denial, refusal to forgive, and the importance of accepting reality in the film 'Memento'. They explore how the protagonist, Leonard, chooses to deny the truth and punish the person who tells him the truth because he fears losing his reason for living. They also discuss the idea of holding onto pain and refusing to let go, as well as the dangers of clinging to ideals and beliefs without considering the consequences. The conversation touches on the relevance of these themes in today's society, where people often refuse to accept reality and instead choose to believe what is convenient for them.----------Highlights:0:00 ‘Memento' Introduction7:06 Opening Scene15:44 Leonard's Growth19:15 Manipulating Natalie26:43 The Big Revelation and Unreliable Narrators36:34 Teddy Revisited42:13 Remember Sammy Jenkis48:48 Themes and Messages54:24 Heightening the Tension1:07:07 Lasting Impact and Value of Memento#memento #christophernolan #remembersammyjenkis #alostplot #filmnerd #filmthoughts #mementomori #leonard #teddy #crime #mystery #revenge #anterogradeamnesia #amnesia #tattoos #rules #natalie

In this episode we delve into the complexities of relationships, particularly focusing on the end of relationships and how we can perceive them as complete. I share insights from her experience working with a client going through a divorce, emphasizing the importance of accepting reality as it is. I discuss commonly felt emotions during a breakup, such as grief, sadness, and frustration. It's important to process these emotions instead of resisting them. I am suggesting adopting a different perspective: viewing the relationship as complete, just as it was meant to be, to reduce suffering and bring a sense of peace and ease. This approach can be applied to any relationship, providing a healthier way to navigate the pain of endings. 00:39 Episode 79: Relationships Can Be Complete00:53 Understanding the Pain of Relationship Endings03:22 Accepting Reality and Finding Closure04:52 The Concept of Completeness in Relationships07:02 Advice for Moving On10:27 Final Thoughts Book a consult call and learn more about my newest program, the 6 Week Jumpstart to Building a Better Relationship with Yourself. Finding our True Self is the purpose of the Holy Spirit's curriculum. The nature of the ego is fear, and we know that all too well. We are not so aware of our Reality, which is aligned with the Will of God. But our true Will is the same as the Will of God. God's Will for us is Perfect Happiness and Absolute Love. The Will is full awareness of our True Self. Fear abides in the things that we "know." The self we made up is full of fear, and we choose it over our the Self God created. It is insane to cling to the false self that is rooted in fear. But this is what we do. We can accept our Reality is Love, Truth, Joy, Perfect Happiness, etc. All else is a bad dream we made up.

Regular followers know that on October 1st, God gave Brother Singh a message concerning Israel a week before Hamas attacked it. Preaching about Israel after an event is one thing, but it is quite another to receive a warning in advance. Yet, repeatedly, God has given this ministry prophetic messages to prepare us. Sadly, we have often tended to ignore the man of God. Hamas started the war, and Israel intends to finish it. Who is right? Who is wrong?

Accepting reality is a common barrier to success in lifestyle changes, nutrition, exercise, and weight loss. Many individuals struggle with accepting the reality of their busy and stressful lives, constantly waiting for the "perfect" time to make positive health changes.Have big plans to implement exercise and meal planning "when things will settle down soon"?Overwhelmed with work or caring for kids or aging parents and waiting to prioritize your own health "after all of that is under control"?I get it. These struggles ARE real. But it's critical you don't let them win. Don't let them steal the important priority of good health—especially because good health has a trickle-down effect, so the better your body is running, the better you can do the things you love with and for others. So next time you face an obstacle to your exercise or health routine, adapt and accept modified versions—that's better than doing nothing as you wait for the ideal opportunity! By accepting reality and taking action, even in small ways, you can make meaningful changes in your health and well-being. Waiting for the "perfect" time may never happen, so it's crucial to do what is possible in the present. In this episode of the podcast, I give you insight and ideas, so you'll want to take a listen!More from The Dr. Francavilla Show brand:The Dr. Francavilla ShowMy linktreeFollow on TwitterFollow on FacebookFollow on InstagramSubscribe to The Dr. Francavilla Show onApple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Pandora
For most of us, certain realities of our lives seem easier to face when we turn our heads and deny their existence. The thought of accepting the truth of our current experience can feel overwhelming and defeating. We even have a tendency to believe that acceptance leaves us powerless. But, what if acceptance is the first step to creating clarity and hope? In this episode Abi and Justin examine how resisting the facts of our reality leave us crippled and hopeless. They look at the ways acceptance is the doorway to finding joy and learning how to come alive. They explore how power is found in the wisdom to know the difference between what we can't change and what we can change. If you're wanting courage to face something in your life that you've been avoiding, this episode will remind you that you're not alone and that you can take immediate steps to change the course of your circumstances right now!
At what point do you stop chasing idealism and accept reality for the way it is?In Episode #378 of 'Musings', Juan and I discuss: the current problems I'm having with dating and v4v support, ways in which being all or nothing is helpful, the impossibility of solving governance and interpersonal relations, why you have to let your ideals go and make some concessions, how being too 'unique' is hurting me and Juan's body not being able to keep up with his mind.A huge thanks to Dave Jones and McIntosh for supporting this week. Alex states that this involves effective communication, as well as listening to your team, to ultimately develop transparency between leaders and their teams, which will help to improve the way that we approach certain challenges. This is Part 1 of a 2-part series on desistance. The difference between desistance and detransition is quite stark and in this episode, Sasha and Stella focus on the complex experience of desistance. How might a child come to desist? What facilitates or hinders this process, and what complicated feelings go along with this experience? Sasha and Stella also discuss the changes that have arisen in recent years and how compared to previous generations, society today responds very differently to children with gender dysphoria. In the next episode on desistance, EP 80, Sasha and Stella will help answer the question: How can I tell if my ROGD child may be desisting? Links: Cantor's analysis of the desistance literature: http://www.sexologytoday.org/2016/01/do-trans-kids-stay-trans-when-they-grow_99.html (http://www.sexologytoday.org/2016/01/do-trans-kids-stay-trans-when-they-grow_99.html) Follow-up study of boys with Gender Identity Disorder: https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpsyt.2021.632784/full (https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpsyt.2021.632784/full) Extended Notes The word desistance means a person no longer wants to transition. Stella shares her journey of feeling as if she was a girl and also a boy. It can be horrifying when people don't understand how one feels about their gender. Attempting to will yourself into a new reality. With puberty comes consciousness of reality. For thousands of years, people repressed their sexuality and gender and lived a lie. Growing up in today's technology-driven world is vastly different from being a teen in the past. There is a correlation between gender non-conforming children and being gay, lesbian, or bi-sexual. A 2021 study showed that 80% of dysphoric boys desisted and 64% were gay. Stella shares her thoughts on This Is How It Always Is: A Novel by Laurie Frankel. Desistance does happen and often teens are grateful they didn't make permanent changes. Desistance requires a reckoning. Gender issues have been polarized in political realms. Stella wanted to be powerful and feminine when she was 17. A person's peer group can make it easier or harder for them to desist. People flip-flop their identities all the time. Taking a deeper look into fluidity between identities. Navigating the shame that can accompany questioning gender identity. Desistance can be a coming-of-age process.
