So glad that the Ikari Strain series was created for discussions such as this! In case you haven't heard, a now-defunct Custom PC company called "Artesian Builds" went under due to a Livestream fail, where the CEO publicly announced who is worthy of winning their giveaways based on numbers. I rant about this being a terrible idea, in addition to how it hit too close to home as a victim of gatekeeping as a content creator. On today's IGN The Fix: Games, Blizzard is changing up its release plans for Overwatch 2 in a major way. Rather than ship the PvP and PvE portions of the shooter together, Blizzard will decouple the package to get the Overwatch 2 PvP to players sooner rather than later.Blizzard announced that Overwatch 2 PvP will be entering closed alpha testing later today, with a beta planned for late April. Custom PC builder Artesian Builds will be shut down indefinitely after an appalling display on Twitch. The recent Artesian Builds drama is a huge overreaction and just another case of overblown claims and turning something minor into a major offense. This is what cancel culture has become, the normal response to the most minor offenses is to completely destroy the person or company. Basically, there was an Artesian Builds PC giveaway that turned sour because the rules allowed anyone to be an "ambassador" simply by placing an image in their profile. When the CEO - Noah Katz saw the winners (in particular streamer kiapiaa) channel, size, and zero clicks, he concluded they weren't an ambassador. Reforge Radio is a channel where we cover Life.
