Daredevil Born Again: Die Rückkehr des Marvel-Helden!
Day 1,553.Today, in the aftermath of one of the most intense aerial assaults on Ukraine of the entire war, we report on fresh strikes against Russia's Tuapse oil refinery – the site of the extraordinary “manmade volcano” that has become symbolic of Kyiv's campaign against Moscow's energy infrastructure. Antonia Langford joins us live from Kyiv after witnessing ballistic missile attacks on the capital firsthand. We also examine the shrinking number of countries contributing to the Czech-led ammunition initiative, which now supplies around half of Ukraine's artillery ammunition, and assess Britain's attempt to regain control of the political narrative after last week's easing of sanctions on Russia by unveiling new measures targeting cryptocurrency networks accused of financing Putin's war machine.Contributors:Francis Dearnley (Host on Ukraine: The Latest). @FrancisDearnley on X.Dominic Nicholls (Host on Ukraine: The Latest). @DomNicholls on X.Antonia Langford (Freelance Journalist in Kyiv). @Antonialford on X.NOW IN FULL VIDEO WITH MAPS & BATTLEFIELD FOOTAGE:Every episode is now available on our YouTube channel shortly after the release of the audio version. The duo dive deep on these characters before turning their eyes (along with Kevo!) to the Daredevil finale where the team goes NUTS for Heather, White Tiger, Jess, & more! And Nico goes HARDCORE on the women of Daredevil's histories – Karen, Heather, and more – plus the comic source material for these episodes! Read along with Jeff/Aquaman, Supergirl/Blade, & Spider-Man/Superman plus the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 finale – it's all this and more on an all new MCU on X Is For Comics!
EPISODE SUMMARY The Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 finale gave fans a lot to process, from Matt Murdock's public downfall to Kingpin's collapse and the possible setup for a much bigger street-level Marvel story. Frank is joined by Megan from Vigilante Vibes and Thomas to break down what worked, what felt messy, and why this season may be the strongest version of Born Again so far. The conversation covers comic book connections like Devil on Cell Block D, Bullseye's future, Heather and Muse, BB's role as a rising journalist, and how Spider-Man, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, The Hand, Typhoid Mary, and even Mayor Luke Cage could factor into what comes next. The crew also digs into the courtroom scene, the hallway fight, New York as a living part of the story, and whether Marvel should keep Daredevil in his own corner or bring him deeper into the MCU. TIMESTAMPS AND TOPICS - 00:00 Introduction and Megan's First Reaction to Season 2 - 01:04 Devil on Cell Block D, Matt's Arrest, and Daredevil's Identity - 03:10 BB, Journalism, Peter Parker, and Street-Level Marvel Connections - 08:16 Bullseye, Mr. Charles, and Marvel's Grounded Villains - 11:26 Heather, Muse, Lady Muse, and Darker Comic Book Influences - 14:33 Spider-Man, The Hand, Elektra, and Season 3 Theories - 18:04 The Rose, Typhoid Mary, Buck, and Kingpin's Future - 19:38 Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk's Complicated Relationship - 23:10 Thomas Joins, CGI Talk, and the Finale's Action Scenes - 25:16 The Hallway Fight, New York Rising, and White Tiger - 28:35 The Courtroom Scene and Matt's Legal Strategy - 33:58 New York as a Character and the MCU's Street-Level Future - 44:00 Favorite and Least Favorite Moments From the Season - 52:00 Final Scores, Fan Reactions, Foggy, and Closing Thoughts KEY TAKEAWAYS - Megan felt Season 2 raised the stakes, leaned more into the comics, and showed the actors had a stronger grip on their characters. - The group spent a lot of time on Matt's arrest and the idea that the show may be setting up a Devil on Cell Block D style story. - BB stood out as one of the season's strongest additions, with the potential to become a major street-level MCU connector through journalism, Peter Parker, and the wider New York media world. - The finale's courtroom scene was one of the biggest highlights, giving Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio a strong showcase while pushing the season's themes about masks, power, and public truth. - The crew liked how the season made New York feel alive again, especially through the city rising against Kingpin's system and the anti-vigilante task force. - Final scores landed strong overall: Thomas gave the finale a 7 out of 10 but the season a 9 out of 10, Frank gave the season an 8 out of 10, and Megan gave it a 10 out of 10. QUOTES "Season two really upped the ante a lot, and it's a lot more comic accurate." "BB won the battle that killed her uncle." "Just because they both can aim good doesn't make them the same character." "This was the city of New York rising, all doing their own hallway scene." "The court scenes are so integral to who Daredevil is as a character." "This feels like a New York that is the home to heroes." Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk finally go head-to-head in the explosive Season 2 finale of Daredevil: Born Again — but not in the way anyone expected. Courtroom warfare. Vigilante uprisings. Hallway fights. Jessica Jones returns. White Tiger rises. Fisk fully becomes Kingpin again before the eyes of New York City… and Matt Murdock makes the ultimate sacrifice by revealing to the world: “I am Daredevil.” This wasn't just a finale. It felt like a turning point for Marvel Television itself. We break down the courtroom showdown, Fisk's brutal rampage, Matt offering grace to his greatest enemy, the future of the Defenders in the MCU, Luke Cage's return, Bullseye's next move, Heather's terrifying transformation, and why this may be the greatest MCU TV episode yet. Hell's Kitchen just lit the way.

Mai in Innsbruck. This week on The Marvelists Presents: Catholic Guilt - A Daredevil Born Again Podcast, Peter and Eddie return to the confessional for a triple dose of Hell's Kitchen intensity as Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 ramps up the stakes. Matt Murdock is in hiding, Wilson Fisk tightens his grip with martial law and the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, and the battle for New York's soul grows bloodier by the hour. In “Shoot the Moon,” Fisk makes a calculated political play by declaring Matt Murdock “missing” and publicly blaming the Devil of Hell's Kitchen—while Bullseye (Dex) wrestles with his fractured psyche, showing up at a church and forcing Matt to confront questions of grace, guilt, and whether some monsters can ever truly be redeemed. Karen Page and the growing resistance scramble as the city spirals deeper into darkness. “The Scales & The Sword” delivers major action as Matt teams up with unlikely allies—including the Swordsman (Jack Duquesne)—for a high-stakes prison break at Red Hook. Angela del Toro makes her powerful debut as the new White Tiger, billy clubs clash, and Daredevil's radar sense is pushed to the limit. But Fisk responds with a brutal counterstrike that sends bodies to the bottom of the East River. Then in “Gloves Off,” the fists fly both literally and figuratively: Bullseye adopts a dangerous new routine, Fisk steps into the ring, and Matt's internal struggle reaches new heights as he questions whether mercy is a strength or a deadly weakness in a city that's bleeding out. Peter and Eddie unpack the heavy faith-driven moral dilemmas, the jaw-dropping fight choreography (that Red Hook breakout is next-level), the escalating Fisk-Murdock chess game, and how the series continues to wrestle with sin, forgiveness, redemption, and what it truly means to be a hero in a fallen world. They also discuss the expanding resistance, White Tiger's arrival, and whether Matt's hesitation toward Bullseye is noble… or just classic Catholic guilt wrapped in a devil suit. Grab your rosary beads, your nightstick, and maybe something strong from Josie's. This trio of episodes is heavy, heartfelt, and packed with horns. New episode drops now—hail Mary, full of grace… and full of punches.

We broke down Daredevil Born Again Season 2 Episodes 2 & 3 — "Shoot the Moon" and "The Scales & the Sword." AVTF uses a sonic weapon to exploit Daredevil's senses. Karen Page kills a guard and is heading down a dark path. The Swordsman / Tony Dalton gets a rigged tribunal with no jury trial under Fisk's Safer Streets Initiative. White Tiger debuts. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio still delivering — but the writing and fight choreography aren't back to Netflix Daredevil level. Both episodes land at a C+.Follow. Subscribe. Rate. Review. Justin is back with a double-episode breakdown of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 — and things are heating up… sort of. Episodes 2 and 3 are finally out on Disney+, Bullseye is back and absolutely unhinged, White Tiger makes her debut, and Fisk just keeps winning. There's a lot to unpack here — including a prison breakout, a morally complicated interrogation, and one gut-punch of an ending that undercuts everything. Is the season finding its footing, or are we still waiting for it to fully click? Justin gives you the honest take.

Episode Summary: Frank and Squeaks jump around a pretty fun mix of topics this week, starting with Star Fox officially showing up in the new Mario movie and the rumor that both a new Star Fox game and an Ocarina of Time remake could be on the way. They also get into the new Moana live-action trailer and whether Disney may finally be figuring out how to handle these remakes. The back half of the episode turns into a full spoiler discussion on the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premiere, with thoughts on Matt, Fisk, Bullseye, White Tiger, and where the season could be headed next. Timestamps: 00:00 Frank and Squeaks open the show and talk about spring break 00:44 Capital Creative Showcase details and ticket code 01:40 Patreon shoutout and bonus perks 02:00 Star Fox is officially in the new Mario movie 06:37 Rumors of a new Star Fox game and an Ocarina of Time remake 12:13 What a modern Star Fox game should actually be 14:14 Moana live action trailer reactions 23:36 Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 spoiler talk begins 24:35 Does the season already have too many characters? 33:05 White Tiger, Karen Page, and what Matt is becoming 36:43 Bullseye, redemption, and the bigger picture this season 42:53 Final score for the Daredevil premiere 43:40 A few network updates and what's coming up 44:19 Comic recommendation of the week 45:53 Frank's pick: women's tackle football and the Golden State Storm 48:11 Outro What We Get Into: Star Fox being part of the Mario movie feels like Nintendo is slowly building something bigger without rushing into a giant crossover. Frank and Squeaks also talk about why Ocarina of Time could be the exact kind of game that gets more people to finally buy a Switch 2, especially if Nintendo keeps the remake pretty faithful. On the Star Fox side, they both seem to want something that mixes the old arcade style with a little more modern exploration. The Moana trailer gets a better reaction than expected too, mostly because it looks like Disney may actually be sticking closer to what worked in the original. Then the episode really settles into Daredevil, with both of them liking the darker tone, the action, and the way the premiere leans harder into the comic book side of the character. They both end up at an 8 out of 10 on the episode. Quotes: "Not everything needs to be MCU." "This is that game, in my opinion." "Moana has got a chance of being a really good standalone movie." "We are getting closer to what it feels like to have a Daredevil comic in your hand." "In the end, it's still just Vincent D'Onofrio versus Charlie Cox." My guest today is a lifelong martial artist whose journey began more than six decades ago and ultimately led him to develop one of the most recognizable branches of American Kenpo in the Midwest. Sr. Grandmaster Tom Saviano first stepped onto the mats in the mid-1960s, beginning his training in Goju-Shorei Karate before later studying under the legendary Grandmaster John McSweeney, one of Ed Parker's original black belts and a key figure in bringing Kenpo to the Midwest. Under McSweeney's guidance, Tom earned his black belt and developed a deep understanding of principle-based, practical self-defense. In 1984, he founded Saviano's White Tiger Kenpo Karate in Addison, Illinois. The White Tiger Kenpo system blends the directness of Japanese and Okinawan karate with the fluidity and circular motion of Chinese martial arts. Over the past four decades, Tom has refined this system, promoted generations of black belts, and built a cohesive curriculum known for its efficiency, adaptability, and real-world effectiveness. Tom has been inducted into multiple Martial Arts Halls of Fame and has led countless seminars while cultivating a community rooted in discipline, respect, and personal growth. What began in a small training space has grown into a lasting legacy that continues to influence martial artists across the Midwest and beyond. Beyond the dojo, Tom's life experience includes work in radio and television, as well as time spent working at a California winery, adding unique perspective to a career defined by learning, adaptability, and service. Please welcome my guest today, Sr. Grandmaster Tom Saviano. White Tiger Fitness Center | martial arts | 823 S Rohlwing Rd, Addison, IL 60101

Meanwhile, Foggy and Becky win a case against some corrupt cops only to have the judge throw out the verdict which outrages Foggy, and he gets arrested for contempt of court and loses his law license. Daredevil orders the construction of Shadowland – a Japanese Style fortress to be constructed on the site of the building explosion caused by Bullseye that killed 107 protesters in the The List at the end of 2009. It is to be the headquarters of the Hand in NYC. Tensions escalate as Kingpin sends Lady Bullseye to infiltrate and assassinate both police officers and H.A.M.M.E.R. agents to cause chaos and a reaction. Which it does as Norman Osborn responds by deploying a full H.A.M.M.E.R. unit to Hell's Kitchen, which causes Daredevil to launch a declaration of war against the police, triggering a full-scale battle. At the end of The Devil's Hand, Matt travels to Japan to deal with important matters involving the Hand, so he leaves Black Tarantula in charge of the city and takes White Tiger with him. Next in story “Left Hand Path” we see Matt in Japan hoping to unite the other leaders of the Hand. However, Bakuto, the Daimyo of South America, causes trouble. The other leaders seem to be conspiring against him. Despite their differences, Matt saves Bakuto from an attack and we learn Snakeroot has co-opted White Tiger to aid in the very intricate plans for Murdock and Shadowland back in New York City. We return back to New York and the start of Shadowland, the big crossover event that goes into the Hand's plans for New York and Murdock ultimately, falling prey to them. Episode 77 - Murdock and Marvel: 2009 Part 2 2009 was a tough year for comics, in that sales declined and a number of stores (nearly 50% in some areas) closed their doors. Closings of Waldenbooks and other book outlets also made getting product into customers' hands difficult. We also saw cover prices rise, even as the recession continued to impact fans ability to spend. This is part 2 of the podcast. that will feature the year in Daredevil, the Spotlight story and the Takeaway for 2009. In that we Daredevil, Black Tarantula and White Tiger along with Master Izo trying to take down the Hand once and for all – but the Hand are trying to recruit Daredevil to be their leader. The story ends with Lord Hirochi, Lady Bullseye, Black Tarantula, and White Tiger board a plane to Spain, where Lady Bullseye says they will pursue Plan B. In March, we get the return of another old foe – Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin himself in an aptly titled story called Return of the King. In part one of the story, we see Fisk in Spain where he befriends and falls in love with a woman, Marta, and her kids – only to see Lady Bullseye and the Hand killing them causing him to revert back to his old ways. Kingpin returns to New York and announces his return and his plans to deal with Daredevil. That plan turns out to be working with Daredevil to take down the Hand. Meanwhile, Foggy is upset that Matt constant absence from the firm confronts him and ultimately fires him. Daredevil tries to locate Master Izo without success and begins to doubt his alliance with Kingpin, suspecting that Fisk is using the Hand and the Owl to wipe out his rivals. Fisk, still haunted by visions of Vanessa, meets with the Owl and gives him Lady Bullseye's next target – Foggy Nelson. The conclusion of this story – is a renumbered issue 500 of Daredevil and the conclusion of Ed Brubaker on Daredevil – will be our spotlight story for this week. In Dark Reign: The List – Daredevil #1 we see Bullseye (now operating under the Hawkeye identity) go after Daredevil at the behest of Norman Osborn. Daredevil pursues him but falls into a trap: Bullseye lures him into a building full of protestors and then blows it up. The blast kills 107 people, leaving Matt devastated and furious—determined to take action. Following that we get the start of a new story from new creative team - Andy Diggle and Roberto De La Torre entitled The Devil's Hand. In it, we see Matt as leader of the Hand. Since most of this story takes place in 2010 – we'll save talking about it more until our 2010 discussion. Episode 75 - Murdock and Marvel: 2008 Part 2 2008 in the United States was a year of war and recession, leading to a bleak short-term outlook for Americans. Comics and comic book movies reflected that, but also gave fans a lot to enjoy, hopefully taking people's minds off social and economic issues they were facing. This is part 2 of the podcast. that will feature the year in Daredevil, the Spotlight story and the Takeaway for 2008. The Year in Daredevil Appearances: Daredevil #102-#112, Daredevil: Blood of the Tarantula #1, Avengers #36-37 and 39, World War Hulk: Aftersmash #1, Civil War Chronicles #5-6 and 8-12, What if? Daredevil takes down Mr Fear but not before Matt Murdock and Milla Donvan's life is turned upside down. In May, we get a single story “Sympathy for the Devil” that bridges us to the next big story arch. In it we see Matt Murdock struggling to deal with everything that's happened to him and Milla. This interesting story will be our spotlight story for the year. Next, we get the 4-part “Cruel and Unusual” story arch in which Matt Murdock tries to help a death row inmate “Big Ben” Donovan who's unwilling to get help to stay his execution. Murdock can tell there's more going on here and Dakota North being assaulted, warned away from investigating Big Ben case by her father Samuel North and finally shot all seem to confirm that suspicion. After Dakota is shot, Matt decides to investigate the shooter and, after following the clues, realizes that there had been men watching his law office from the beginning. These men turn out to be federal agents, who explain why Donovan was framed. Apparently, the special units needed crime boss Eric Slaughter to watch over the docks, which is why they protected him. In the end, Matt speaks with Samuel J. North. North tells him how the special units crossed the line, that he didn't want his daughter caught in the crossfire, that they needed someone to blame, and Donovan fit the profile. Interestingly, this story was billed as a 5-part story that ended after 4. To finish out 2008, we get the return of Bullseye, well kind of. In a story titled “Lady Bullseye”, we see the Hand and their newest assassin – a woman who goes by the alias Lady Bullseye and was inspired by the original Bullseye who tore through the Yakuzi years before. Lady Bullseye frames Murdock for murder to keep him occupied (though he's arrested the morning after cheating on his wife Milla with Dakota North) while they go after Iron Fist (Danny Rand) and Black Tarantula (Carlos LaMuerto). North provides an alibi for Murdock so he gets released and upon returning home and upon returning home they find Black Tarantula hogtied and an old man rummaging through Matt's kitchen, who introduces himself as Master Izo and says Matt is going to help him destroy the Hand. Apparently now is an opportune time as the Hand is in chaos as factions are fighting for control after Elektra is revealed to be a Skrull. As the story progressed, we see that the Hand has a series of targets and eventually possesses Tarantula and White Tiger before a finally confrontation with Daredevil. It's then that Lady Bullseye reveals to Matt her true plan—she wants him to lead the Hand, and her efforts so far have not been to attack his friends and family, but rather to remove them as obstacles. Stunned, Matt strikes her. They fight again and she knocks him out, saying the Hand does not take no for an answer. Master Izo helps Matt up, and assumes he refused the Hand's offer; Matt says nothing. The story ends with Lord Hirochi, Lady Bullseye, Black Tarantula, and White Tiger board a plane to Spain, where Lady Bullseye says they will pursue Plan B. One side story in the Lady Bullseye story arch, is Milla Donovan's parents have checked her out of the hospital Matt's been visiting and are trying to keep him away from their daughter. In the Daredevil: Blood of the Tarantula one-shot, Daredevil helps Carlos LaMuerto face down his cousin, Luis, who is being backed up by his former gang from Argentina as they have arrived in New York to steal the power of the Black Tarantula and return it to its country of origin.
