One of the greatest shows on Earth has been going on now for several months in Hawaii, where the Kīlauea volcano at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park has been erupting since late December. The Kīlauea volcano is the most active volcano on Earth. It's also a relatively safe volcano in that it spends most of its time simmering and bubbling without any spectacularly explosive eruptions. But lately it has been putting on some incredible shows of lava fountains, with one glowing string of magma soaring about 1,000 feet in the air, a truly spectacular sight to see. To understand what's going on with Kīlauea and what danger it poses, we're joined today by Matt Patrick, a research geologist with the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory.

Can the forgotten ties between faith and the founding of our nation still impact our lives today? Join me, Jesse Cope, as we journey through history to understand how our spiritual roots have shaped the freedoms we enjoy, yet often take for granted. With heartfelt gratitude for your support, I emphasize the necessity of a personal relationship with God and the role this connection plays in preserving our nation's values for future generations. Together, we'll uncover the stories and sacrifices of those who fought for religious and national freedom, reminding us of the responsibility we hold to cherish and pass on these timeless legacies to our children.Shifting gears, let's explore how Scripture can be the guiding light in our marriages and relationships, offering a more profound wisdom than fleeting media trends. Through the powerful metaphor of marriage as a reflection of Christ and the church, we examine the importance of truth and integrity, drawing inspiration from historical figures like George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. They remind us that truth stands strong without embellishment, forming a sturdy foundation for our personal lives and our youth. Tune in to rediscover how faith and scripture can enrich our relationships and ensure a future grounded in integrity and historical wisdom.Support the showThe American Soul Podcasthttps://www.buzzsprout.com/1791934/subscribe

The Old Montana State Prison in Deer Lodge, Montana. Kenzie starts us off with a couple of the prison's most infamous inmates, Jerry Myles and Lee Smart. These two are responsible for holding over 20 hostages for 36 hours during the Prison Riot of 1959. Lauren continues with the telling of additional dark history that plagues the old prison. Juni THE SNOW FLURRY (1959) angeschaut. Michaels sehr empfehlenswerten Blog Schneeland findet Ihr hier. There was a very famous questionnaire commissioned by the Saturday Evening Post in the late 1950s to seek "The Secrets of Long Life." Gallop Poll conducted the study and put together a 24-page 221-question survey on diet, health, birthplace, climate, and heredity. The subjects were all 95 or older. Here's a summary of foods, fluid intake, tobacco use, health, body size, physical activity, religion, family, and heredity. The results are staggering when you consider what is going on today. It's sort of amazing that Martini Giant has been going for years without covering one of the great film artists of the 20th century - Alfred Hitchcock - so we intend to make up for it by starting a new tradition with our first annual Hitch for the Holidays! Will God answer your prayer if you don't end with, "In Jesus' name, Amen?" Learn what praying in the name of Jesus really means. I taught this week on the call of Abraham and the development of God's missionary call through the nation of Israel as they were responsible to communicate the truth of God to the cultures around them. They were given that great commission. The great commission didn't start in Matthew 28. It started with Abraham in Genesis 12 —the first three verses there —Abraham, chosen by God to raise up a nation who would then be God's priests to the world so that they would be a blessing to all of the nations. They had a unique role in the great monotheistic religion. The Jews were supposed to reflect morality to the world. Israel was to witness to the name of God. When they talked about the name of God and witnessing to God's name, that does not mean that they were to let everybody know what they called God, "Yahweh." Their goal wasn't to cover the countryside with evangelists who just let everybody know what the right word for God was. It meant something different. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ https://linktr.ee/jacksonlibon --------------------------------------------------- #face #instagram #amour #take #couple #garden #tiktok #psychology #beyou #near #love #foryou #money #ForYouPizza #fyp #irobot #theend #pups #TikToker #couplegoals #famille #relation #doudou #youtube #twitter #tiktokers #love #reeĺs #shorts #instagood #follow #like #ouy #oyu #babyshark #lilnasx #girl #happybirthday #movie #nbayoungboy #deviance #autotrader #trading #khan #academy #carter #carguru #ancestry #accords #abc #news #bts #cbs #huru #bluebook #socialmedia #whatsapp #music #google #photography #memes #marketing #india #followforfollowback #likeforlikes #a #insta #fashion #k #trending #digitalmarketing #covid #o #snapchat #socialmediamarketing

If you've seen the banners in the Carmody Center, you likely know Gonzaga had one of its more memorable football seasons in 1959 that culminated with a City Title. But unless you were there, you probably don't know the crazy sequence of events from November 22, to November 27th. Three football games in six days! All at the legendary Griffith Stadium (where Howard University Hospital is today). Wait until you hear about the round robin tournament, the tie-breakers, and finally a draw from a hat decided who would face the vaunted Eastern Ramblers. Quite a few future College and NFL Stars would play that week, including our guests from Gonzaga's Class of 1960: Jon Morris (15 years AFL/NFL Lineman 7 time All Pro selection), Darryl Hill (recruited by Lee Corso to join the Maryland Terrapins in 1963 becoming the first African-American college football player in the South). Also joining the Zoom are teammates Charles Shields, Henry Partridge, and Brendan O'Neill, Sr. All these guys were great friends who loved being around each other, and playing hard for each other. With the Gonzaga Smoker coming up, we also asked about their classmate, the late Stu Long '60. For information about this years in person gathering click here. Epilogue: 1959 was a different time to be sure. The 1954 Brown v Board of Education ruling made school segregation illegal, but five years later, progress was slow. Gonzaga was ahead of most prep schools of that era, as Dr. Gabe Smith '54 became the first African American to graduate from Eye Street. Gabe paved the way for young men like Darryl Hill '60 to feel welcomed at Gonzaga. Hill would go on to break the ACC football color barrier at Maryland. The City Championship game in basketball continues to this day, but the City Title football game was discontinued after race riots broke out following the 1962 game. The integrated but mostly white St. John's team won against an outmatched Eastern team. With over 50,000 in attendance at D.C. Stadium (later renamed RFK), 400 people were injured. D.C. area writers like John Manasso (1994) and Dave McKenna (2011) both wrote compelling pieces that looked back at the 1962 game and wondered if the City Title Football game would be revived. Click the links to read on more. Thanks to Will Morris '67 for his research assistance in putting this episode together. ------ As mentioned at the end of the episode: We want to hear from you! For our Christmas week episode, we want to include your voices sharing Christmas greetings.
