God transforms broken pieces much like a potter reshapes a shattered clay vessel. In the potter's hands, each fragment is lovingly gathered and carefully molded, infused with new purpose and grace. The process is slow and deliberate, requiring patience and vision, but the result is a masterpiece that tells a story of resilience and renewal. Just as the potter sees potential in every shard, so does God see beauty and strength in our imperfections. It is in these moments of transformation that we discover our true worth and the unique light we bring to the world, shining all the brighter for having been broken and made whole again.

In this powerful episode, Kim and Jackie dive deep into the idea that we all come into this life with a unique "tool kit" — filled with our gifts, purpose, and potential. But within that kit, there's often something that feels broken. What if that broken piece wasn't something to hide or judge, but instead held the exact lesson we came here to learn, heal, and share? We explore how embracing all parts of yourself — the intuitive, the ego, the inner child, and even the conflicted voice — can create internal harmony and peace, while reducing external chaos. This episode is a heart-opening invitation to make peace with the parts of you that you've pushed away.✨ Want to go deeper on your healing journey?Join our supportive and transformational membership where we gather for three live Healing Collective calls each month, plus access a full library of meditations, journal prompts, mini courses, and more:

Cindy lost her beautiful mother, the late great tennis champion Maureen “Little Mo” Connolly Brinker, to cancer when she was just twelve and shares how she strived because she thought God hated her to let her mother die. Jenny interviews Cindy Brinker Simmons is a best-selling author, businesswoman, energetic speaker, philanthropist and mom who cares deeply about helping people in the midst of life's challenges. She shares her story and steps to overcome losses in her book 'Restored: Reconnecting Life's Broken Pieces.' Cindy's victory in overcoming the sorrow of multiple personal losses of both her precious mother and beloved husband provides comfort and hope to those struggling through life's most difficult trials. She reminds us that God is always working behind the scenes and that the God of the Universe who created everything, even galaxies unknown, loves and cares about you! If you are living in a fragile place after loss, pain, or grief and excitement in life and fullness of purpose is too hard to imagine, I know you will find hope in this interview! You can find out more about Cindy on social media and her website brinkersimmons.com.  All net proceeds from the sale of her Amazon best-selling book, Restored: Reconnecting Life's Broken Pieces, will be donated to Wipe Out Kids' Cancer (WOKC) and the Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Foundation. Cindy is the author of the popular book, LITTLE MO's LEGACY: A Mother's Lessons, A Daughter's Story. The book chronicles the lessons her late mother taught her in life and in death. The Lord uses trials to do many things, but many blessings are only received from the residue of pain.  When we have trials we focus on the difficult, but sometimes the path of suffering is the only way to attain them. So many things happen through trials.

Title: Fixing the Broken Pieces with Ian Morgan Cron  Description: Everyone is an addict. Mr. Rogers…The Dali Lama… Michelle Obama! Mull that idea over for a minute and when you're done being outraged like we were, join us for this enthralling conversation with one of our favorite repeat guests on For the Love – author, psychotherapist, and Episcopal priest, Ian Morgan Cron. Today, we're talking to him about his new book, The Fix: How the Twelve Steps Offer a Surprising Path of Transformation for the Well-Adjusted, the Down-and-Out, and Everyone In Between. People pleasing, the need to be right, being a compulsive helper, workaholism, being a knowledge junkie, perfectionism, holding on to our past suffering – these are all forms of addiction. The simple truth is, we each resort to our own methods of dealing with the harder aspects of life. For some, that solution means turning to a substance to numb our pain, which is how we traditionally think of addiction. For others, there are behaviors we employ to manipulate what we are feeling. And that's where the rest of us fall into the sticky trap. Ian, who also hosts the wildly popular Typology podcast exploring the mystery of the human personality, teaches us how the Twelve Steps are a trusted tool for anyone seeking to move beyond self-help to a more profound sense of awakening.  And, in a new segment called “To My Younger Self”, Jen and Amy share some deeply personal experiences that, for Amy, helped change her relationships and, for Jen, helped change how she viewed herself.   Thought-provoking Quotes: “People don't have one addiction; people are poly-addicted. They're seething cauldrons of addiction.” – Ian Morgan Cron “All human beings have a natural and innate hunger for union with the divine. The problem is when we go in search of counterfeit experiences of the divine that lead to disappointment, disillusionment and disaster.” – Ian Morgan Cron “Most Twelve Steps meetings happen in church or synagogue basements, after hours. And I wondered, does anyone upstairs know about the miracles that are going on downstairs? And why can't we release what's happening down here so that people up there can take advantage of it?” – Ian Morgan Cron “When you can admit powerlessness, it's a relief that it's not on you anymore.” – Ian Morgan Cron “When you frame an addiction as a solution to a problem, albeit an inadequate one, what follows is compassion, not judgment or condemnation.” – Ian Morgan Cron Resources Mentioned in This Episode: Five Calls app – https://5calls.org/ I Poop on Fascists Sticker - https://bit.ly/4gWiFHx The Fix: How the Twelve Steps Offer a Surprising Path of Transformation for the Well-Adjusted, the Down-and-Out, and Everyone In Between by Ian Morgan Cron - https://amzn.to/3Xgx6PK The Fix Workbook: How the Twelve Steps Offer a Surprising Path of Transformation for the Well-Adjusted, the Down-and-Out, and Everyone in Between by Ian Morgan Cron - https://amzn.to/3DiTReV How to Mitigate Stress Based on Your Personality – FREE DOWNLOAD - https://typologyinstitute.com/stress  The Typology Institute Enneagram Assessment by Ian Morgan Cron - https://typologyinstitute.com/assessment Typology Podcast - https://www.typologypodcast.com/ The Road Back to You: An Enneagram Journey to Self-Discovery by Ian Morgan Cron - https://amzn.to/3QCG1qI Guest's Links: Ian's website - https://ianmorgancron.com/ Ian's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/ianmorgancron Ian's Twitter - https://x.com/ianmorgancron Ian's Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/IanMorganCron/ Ian's Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/@imcron Ian's Podcast - https://www.typologypodcast.com/ Connect with Jen! Susan Mathews is a mother, author, speaker, and co-founder of Love Without Reason. Love Without Reason is a nonprofit that works to fight human trafficking, prevent it and end it before it starts. The organization was birthed through the journey of her first child, Philip. After obtaining her undergraduate degrees in chemistry and nursing, she went on to get her Master of Science in Nursing and served for over twenty years in the healthcare industry from CNA to Nurse to Family Nurse Practitioner. She is the wife of Santhosh Mathews, and mother to Philip, Sara and Caleb. Her experiences with her children inspired her first book, "A Mother's Heart," sharing the daily struggles of parents of "normal" children and those with special needs. She and Philip wrote "If Philip Can, You Can Too" and she published it posthumously for Philip. It became an Amazon best seller in its category. Raising a child with multiple craniofacial differences to excel against all the medical odds and graduate from high school is a story she shares around the globe. Grieving the loss of a child, picking up the mantle of his dream, and driving her surviving children forward is a challenge she inspires in her audience. She has traveled to countries from Sweden to South Africa, sharing her story, motivating her audience in faith, and relaying the joy that can come after grief. In 2014, she laid down her stethoscope and picked up the spear to fight human trafficking and set captives free, physically and spiritually, through the work of Love Without Reason. info@lovewithoutreason.org l ovewithoutreason.org

At 12 years old, as she rode in the car with her sister and dad to her mother’s funeral, the thought that haunted her was “God must hate me; I must be the reason my mom died.” Cindy Brinker Simmons is a bestselling author, business woman and philanthropist who cares deeply about helping people in the midst of life’s challenges. She’s the author of Restored: Reconnecting Life’s Broken Pieces. Cindy offers tender words of wisdom for those grieving in Hamilton, MI with the recent loss of two teenage brothers from Hamilton High School. She also shares the need for community in the healing process. Also in this episode, people can be very hurtful with their words. Shawna shares shocking words spoken to her in the gathering area at church and how she turned it into a conversation with God as she asked Him, “Lord, is that true?” Sometimes life is like hitting a curb you didn’t see coming when you’re riding your bike. And it sends you flailing over the handlebars into a bush. (An actual experience Shawna had.) Donna Evans is a wife, mother, and grandmother, author, and conference speaker.  Her life was enriched by raising her son James Bruce to adulthood, and she has much to share about both the challenges and blessings of parenting a child with special needs.  When James Bruce was five years old, her husband challenged her to stop praying that God would make him “normal” and start praying for God to use him for His glory.  Over time, she began to give her broken pieces to God; and when Brucie unexpectedly went to Heaven in February of 2022, she experienced His faithfulness in completely new ways.  I believe you'll be encouraged by what Donna has to share!
