With so much conflict and so many things that divide us, what can possibly connect us? It seems our nation is broken. How can we begin to have unity in such a fractured place? Our guests today have spent decades working toward the idea of hope, peace, and connection. Gary Malkin is a multiple Emmy award-winning composer, resonance strategist, and music and wellness activist; Hope Fitzgerald is a spiritual teacher, intuitive dowser, and healer; and Tezikiah Gabriel is the Executive Director of Pathways To Peace, a UN Peace Messenger Organization, in consultation with ECOSOC and DGC. Gary shares that his father was born in Ukraine. He explains how he was bullied as a child. Peace in the world cannot be created without having inner peace. Gary talks about his journey through grief and trauma and how we, as a society, tend to avoid these feelings of pain. He talks about how we need to metabolism our grief and unburden ourselves. He realized that we cannot have peace if we don't have unity. And we cannot have unity, if we don't address the thing that caused us grief. Hope Fitzgerald talks about the workshops they developed together to awaken people and move them through the grief process. He also works with Tezikiah Gabriel and together they founded “We Rise as One” which is a celebration of connection and compassion through the power of music. Gary explains how they decided on the title and how the intention is to rise above with unity and oneness. It's an inclusive, multi-generational, multi-religious, multi-cultural event as a way to feel our unity. They also talk about the power of forgiveness to offer unity, as well as how music and poetry can lead to peace. This is a way to transcend the toxic division we are experiencing at this time. Sept 11, 2025, marks the 24th anniversary of one of America's darkest days. To shed light and understanding about the collective grief and trauma so many faced, we are joined by spiritual teacher and best-selling author Guy Finley. Guy is the Founder of Life of Learning Foundation and the best-selling author of “Letting Go,” “The Secret of Letting Go,” and more than 25 other books. His books have sold millions of copies in multiple languages worldwide. Today he talks about how to look at tragedy and specifically addresses 9/11 and the pain that ensued. He shares how 9/11 changed us and also taught us resilience. He asks us to ask ourselves have we learned the lesson in that pain, both as a nation and as a collection of individuals? And if we have not, then did that event unite us in a new understanding? Or did it divide us further?    Whether a national tragedy or a personal situation, how can we learn the lesson of pain? When we come upon a tragedy, it may also divide us further. Guy deeply examines the nature of “blame” and how it is so difficult for us not to blame. Typically, the first reaction to tragedy is to point the finger. After 9/11, our freedoms were affected literally overnight.     How can we use these unwanted moments? Do we go into panic? Guy says there is no psychological fear without negative imagination. So commonly, the pain makes us place blame. When we can recognize it, we can realize it serves no purpose to blame. We can liberate ourselves from a mind with a negative imagination. We must change as individuals before we can see change in our world.    Guy asks us to consider, “What is your relationship with the Divine?” In the moment when there's a problem or pain, when we resist it, we feel attacked. It's a misunderstanding of the event. So, how do you illuminate the event to come to a new conclusion?     Silence can help. Anger, fear, and worry all lead us toward negativity. What we give our attention to is what we are in relationship with. This guides our experience.   According to Guy, “The fear is real but the ‘Why' is a ‘Lie.'” Our lower brain creates a response of tension. Guy offers prayers to allow the Divine to let us know the truth. He also teaches free classes online twice a week. Info: GuyFinley.org  and GuyFinley.org/online for free classes.

Would you like to learn more about numerology, an ancient numbers system? In numerology, our year of 2025 breaks down to the World Number “9.” This is calculated by adding 2 + 0 + 2 + 5. What does this mean? According to our guest world-renowned numerology expert Glynis McCants, this is the year of family. Glynis talks about the tragic fires in Los Angeles and how families and communities came together to help and to heal. The cycle of “9” asks us to look at who we are and how we are being. She also talks about next year, 2026, and how it works out to be the year of “1.” This represents a fresh new start. Glynis explains how to take your birth month and day and add that to the year number “9” to calculate your personal energy cycle. Glynis also talks about your Name Numbers, based on the letters of your name. She also discusses challenging days that we've had this year, including dates with emotions and drama. She remembers 9/11 and the numbers of that tragic day. She explains how we had several days this past June that were dates of drama around the world. Why are we no longer working together? Why are we so divided? Glynis explains this as the World Number “9” and how we can come together. Glynis talks about the numerology this Summer, specifically mentioning certain days. She talks about “1” days. She talks about July being the month of “7” and how we can come to our spiritual center. It's the time to meditate, and to go out in nature. She specifically suggests being around water and how beneficial that is to inner peace. It's about tapping into your inner voice and not listening to all the chaos outside. She talks about the new Pope Leo and how he is a number “7.” Glynis also discusses August being a month of “8.” It will be a very political month. She remains optimistic because although we may be in a crisis, she sees unity coming soon. She asks us to look at things objectively. The World Year of “9” means working together in our families and communities. It doesn't matter where you stand politically; we all still need each other. Glynis's unique method is based on the Pythagoras Number system, which is more than 2,500 years old. After evaluating approximately 15,000 Numerology Charts, she wrote the book “Glynis Has Your Number,”  which quickly became the best-selling Numerology book in the country and has been translated in fifteen other languages as well. If you'd like to order a Numerology reading report that tells you all about yourself, or a Numerology Chart Comparison report, just visit www.numberslady.com and type "Lisa" in the promo code, and you will get a special discount. A former U.S. Navy Commander and aide to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, today she shares “21st Century Spirituality®”, merging the latest scientific understanding about Consciousness with ancient spiritual wisdom. Suzanne discusses her latest book, “Making the Afterlife Connection: The Journey from Doubt to Knowing that Death is Not the End.” Suzanne talks about various practices to greater connect including “SIP with the Divine.” This is just a 3-minute practice where you sit in silence and see if an insight happens. Any answer you seek is accessible. It's called “SIP” as it stands for “Sit In Peace.” You are training yourself to notice your thoughts and feelings. This becomes a habit to really be present. In this way, you are also creating more space, which allows for better connection to your Higher Self, loved ones, and the Divine. When we are in a state of meditation and quietness, we can also ask our loved ones for a sign or for a message. This requires a level of discernment, but it's possible for them to share. You can ask for advice, a healing, or an answer. Suzanne explains how there's a reason that certain things may be veiled to us. She also talks about using your body to help you make decisions. Any tension in your heart or your gut means it may not be the best direction. The knowing is already in you. The answers are within us. Your soul already has a plan. Suzanne has written 15 books including “The Awakened Way - Making the Shift to a Divinely Guided Life.” Her latest documentary is “Wolf's Message,” based on the true story of a man named Wolf who was also struck and killed by lightening.      How do we stay centered and grounded when we have to deal with the stress of the day-to-day? We may have moments of clarity and spirituality, but how can we take this connection with us wherever we go? We can easily read an upsetting news story or get stuck in traffic or long lines at the store, and we can lose sight of our spirit. According to our guest today, writer Polly Campbell, it's a matter of being aware of what triggers us. This is life. Upsets can come into our reality all the time, yet we can learn to move more gracefully and maintain spiritual balance. Polly found herself with major challenges at one point with a diagnosis of cancer. She became angry. She realized she had stepped away from her spiritual practice, but once she noticed that, she could correct it. Having a child, as well as a full-time job, as so many people do, she decided she would find other ways to pray and be more spiritual. She suggests praying in the shower and being mindful while folding laundry. She talks about being silent in the car and experiencing the quiet, rather than listening to music or talking on the phone. She also suggests we go into a state of gratitude as often as we can. When paying bills, rather than getting stressed, be thankful that you can pay. If you see a stain on the carpet, rather than being upset, be grateful for the house and the rug. It's a matter of not putting thoughts in negative places or going into a heavy mindset. This disconnects us. Rather than going into pain, we can be mindful. When we feel better, we can make a difference that will help to shift us and eventually the world. There are simple practices we can do that connect us to peacefulness and stillness. Mindfulness practices can be done in just a few minutes. We can stop, take a breath, and give ourselves a hug. This small movement helps us release stress. It changes us physically and emotionally. It reconnects us to ourselves and can take us out of negativity. Polly talks about her book, “Imperfect Spirituality: Extraordinary Enlightenment for Ordinary People.” Her articles on personal development topics and spiritual practices appear regularly in national publications and blogs. She is also a professional speaker who inspires and energizes audiences with a blend of wit and wisdom. The spiritual practices and personal development strategies she offers have also helped her cope with chronic illness. Her small tips and easy practices can help us move into a more positive place. What if your emotions and intentions affected those around you? With all of the scientific research on connectivity and oneness, why do we still live our lives like we are completely separate from one another? If we are truly one, would you like to tap into this worldwide grid? Our guest today is Dr. Dean Radin, Senior Scientist at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, where he researches consciousness and psychic phenomenon. He is also an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Sonoma State University. Dr. Radin explains the study of random number generators and how our intentions can affect the findings. When groups of meditators focus their thoughts on a specific goal, this attention causes the randomness to become orderly. Dr. Radin discusses how mind and matter are related, and when the mind becomes laser-focused on something, it can cause change to occur. For planned events, such a million-person meditation, they have very strong statistical evidence that shows non-random behavior. In these experiments, you can see the nature of “mass mind.” He further explains how mind and matter are linked together. He has researched psychic phenomenon and telepathy. This is some form of interconnectedness, which is now recognized in quantum physics. We can all tap into this powerful connectedness and use it for a force of good. Dr. Radin is the author of “Entangled Minds” and “The Conscious Universe.”  For more than three decades he has been engaged in research on the frontiers of consciousness.  He has held appointments at Princeton University and several Silicon Valley think tanks, including SRI International, where he worked on classified programs investigating psychic phenomena for the U.S. government.  Info: www.deanradin.com

Do you find yourself with opposing viewpoints and arguing with your family, friends, or neighbors? Do people seem more hostile? Are you tired of all of the division in this world? Is it possible to “agree to disagree”? According to today's guest James Twyman, there IS a way to get along. James is known as a “Peace Troubadour” as he has united millions of people around the world with his music and messages of peace. His latest book is “I Don't Know, Maybe, I Love You: How to De-Polarize Your Family, Business, Country and the World.” The title came about when he was arguing with his brother on the phone during Covid. At a particularly heated moment, James said to his brother, “I don't know. Maybe. I love you, brother.” He realized this could be a way to de-escalate the disagreement. James talks about attending an international Peace Conference held by the Pope in which many different religious leaders were invited to express their own prayers of peace from their faith. James then turned each of the prayers into songs. He explains that there is a magic when you combine prayers with music. He's written 24 books and numerous songs and albums for the past several decades. He talks about the “pandemic of being right” and how difficult it is to communicate. It seems so challenging to “talk to the other side,” but if we go into compassion and love, it becomes possible. We cannot allow differing opinions to separate us. If we can just listen to one another, maybe we can come to an understanding. We are here to love one another. We can let go of the addiction to being right. He also talks about the teachings of Saint Francis, as he himself is an Episcopal Franciscan and Anglican priest. During the time of Saint Francis, it was also highly divisive. Saint Francis talked about how the real message of Christ is to love one another. He learned from the Islamic religious leaders and brought that back to Italy. We don't have to make people wrong just because their beliefs and opinions are different from ours. We can be genuinely curious and listen to one another. He asks us to consider the possibility that we can actually learn from one another. We have a choice and can be kind to each other. We can always find things that we agree upon. What's it like when you are the only African American dancer in a world of all white dancers? Lisa continues our very special interview with Jennifer Jones, the first African American Rockette. Jennifer talks about growing up seeing Broadway shows with her parents. She told her high school guidance counselor that she wanted to go to college and major in dance. Her counselor told her that she wasn't ready for college yet, although at a very early age, she always dreamed of being on stage. She was so passionate and started at a local community college before moving to New York City, auditioning, and getting hired to be a Rockette. She talks about how spectacular Radio City Music Hall is. It literally took her breath away! She shares the excitement of the famous Christmas Spectacular show and how she poured her heart into each show. She was performing up to six shows a day. Jennifer discusses resilience, and what she had to break through to make her dreams come true. She noted that this year is the 100-year anniversary of the Rockettes and a big event will be planned to celebrate. She also talks about her challenges, and how important it is to believe in yourself. She discusses the importance of being resilient. When she turned 50, she went to her doctor to request a colonoscopy. The doctor told her she was young and had nothing to worry about as she was healthy and had no family members with colorectal cancer. Jennifer listened to her powerful intuition and got a colonoscopy anyway. The doctors determined that she had colorectal cancer, and she was told she had five years to live. She felt embarrassed by this diagnosis as she was always the “healthy one” in her family. She was physically fit and a vegetarian. She met with a specialist and had four rounds of chemotherapy. To the amazement of her doctors, the tests showed dramatic improvement. She explains how she decided to meditate more, let go of toxic relationships, drink green juices, and so much more. She knew she needed to change the way she ate and the way she thought. In 2019, she was deemed cancer-free! Jennifer talks about testing early for colorectal cancer, and especially in the African American community. If there's a history in your family, it's important to test even earlier. She shares how her symptoms started as pressure in her abdomen, so she began changing her diet and meeting with doctors. She talks about organizations who can offer early detection and additional support including Colorectal Cancer Alliance: https://colorectalcancer.org and Colon Cancer Foundation: https://coloncancerfoundation.org. Do you fear aging? Do you dread getting older? Do you think that you'll likely be sick or have a disease? Many people are living longer yet not living healthier. Today's guest is health expert, environmental pioneer, and best-selling author John Robbins. John is the author of the best-selling books “Diet For a New America,” “The Food Revolution,” and “Reclaiming Our Health.” He talks about the growing population of people who are currently over 65 years old. Globally it continues to increase. John would like our older years to be a time of celebration and not a time to fear. It is possible to become much healthier as we age. It can be a time to be stable and connected. If we feel more positive about aging, we can add many healthy years to our life. On the other hand, if we shun it, and try to protect ourselves from the aging process, we close down possibilities. In the US especially, we can feel divided and separated. Many people ultimately die of loneliness. John talks about four cultures that he has explored where people live to be healthy at 100. The older people in these cultures are not interested in fast foods. They tend to have much more community. They eat simply, with many being basically vegetarian. This diet includes nuts, seeds, vegetables, fruits, and no artificial sweets. They don't have processed sugar. They are connected to the local food and eat seasonally. Family and friends are extremely important. The communities work together. By comparing the diets and attitudes of different world cultures with the American lifestyle, John shares the truth about the health effects of the foods we eat. The only son of the founder of the Baskin-Robbins ice cream empire, John was groomed to follow in his father's footsteps but chose to walk away from Baskin-Robbins and the immense wealth it represented to “…pursue the deeper American Dream…the dream of a society at peace with its conscience because it respects and lives in harmony with all life forms. A dream of a society that is truly healthy, practicing a wise and compassionate stewardship of a balanced ecosystem.” We air this interview today to honor health pioneer John Robbins, who passed away in mid-June.  Info: www.johnrobbins.com

Today's very special interview features Jennifer Jones, the first African American Rockette. Jennifer shares her story of growing up seeing Broadway shows with her parents. From a very early age, she dreamed of being on stage. She was so passionate and knew in every cell of her body that that would be her home. Jennifer talks about resilience, and what she had to break through to make her dreams come true. She talks about the dance history of the 1920s and how the Rockettes were formed in 1925. The founder thought that Americans would love to see women of the same size and race perform the exact same moves on a dance line. During this time period, Black dancers had their own troupes, as Blacks and whites did not perform together. Jennifer was hired as a Rockette in 1987. She was the very first Black woman to join the dance line. She saw an ad in the newspaper and her friend encouraged her to audition. She wasn't familiar with the Rockettes, as she'd never seen them. She saw only white women auditioning and realized she was the only Black person. She was so nervous and intimated, she decided to leave. A voice inside of her said, “Stay!” She decided to do so. She auditioned, got measured for height and weight, and the stage manager invited her to come back. Even though she went to the call back, she still didn't realize who the Rockettes were. She didn't know their history. She was hired and they immediately sent her for media training. She met with the choreographer who said she was “misquoted” by the press and that's what Jennifer needed to say during interviews. Many people, from managers to choreographers to fellow dancers, were not happy that she was on the line. Jennifer talks about being assaulted and repeatedly insulted. It took extreme perseverance on her part to follow her dreams of being on stage. She talks about how so many women auditioned and how they were not allowed to be a Rockette simply because of their skin color. Through her perseverance, her dream came true! Her groundbreaking memoir is titled “Becoming Spectacular: The Rhythm of Resilience from the First African American Rockette.” She talks about how a public relations person working at Radio City Music Hall disliked her so much. She would tell her how she shouldn't be there and that she was just lucky. Jennifer held these feelings in for many, many years. She also discusses specific mentors who helped to encourage her along the way. She received fan mail, as well as difficult hate mail. Some people didn't feel she should be there, but her parents, family, and mentors helped her along the way. She was a Rockette for 15 years, then another dream came true – she danced on Broadway! She discusses how staunch and strict the “Rockettes” brand is at Radio City. She didn't feel she could speak her truth without repercussions. They are still very strict with the brand. They do allow for slightly varying heights and weights. The draw for so many is that it's an incredible precision troupe. It has evolved over the years. They are trying to include more nationalities. The main focus is still precision and elegance. Jennifer hopes that she helped to inspire the Black women on the line today so they can experience the joy of the sisterhood of being a Rockette, dancing at Radio City Music Hall.  This is Part 1 of the interview. She further discusses “parts” therapy and explains how to be in relationship with our “selves” and our internal guidance systems. Tamala is a psychotherapist, consultant, author, and speaker with more than 20 years of experience. Her books and audio include “Listening When Parts Speak” and “Healing the Wounded Mother.” Tamala talks about the importance of our parts, including ones who hold rage, as well as the anxious parts, and the harming parts, which includes self-harm. These parts are common to humans across the world. Any part could be used for protection. Anything that our parts have taken on as a burden is to protect us from our internal wounds. We may feel unlovable or not good enough. This is the part that pushes people away. All the messages we get when we are young, whether we feel unworthy, too loud, too quiet, etc. all actually protect us. Tamala talks about Internal Family Systems. Our parts operate like family. Some get along, while some do not. Some have certain skills, which can help to heal. She explains how parts theory is based on Internal Family Systems. So how can a raging part protect us? At some point, it protects the sensitive part of ourselves. It's the protector for the one who is too sensitive. All parts do not speak. They may show as a color, change of temperature, a picture, or feeling. We can also talk to ancestral parts of ourselves and bring them into present time. Tamala also discusses “legacy burdens” which are the burdens passed down through generations. These are not lived experiences, but experiences that are passed down. It can be incredibly uplifting to release these burdens. She explains that these are often easier to release, and once they are released, the person has more energy to work on themselves. Tamala also leads us through a powerful process of talking to our parts. She asks us to let it be however it needs to be and invites us to note what it is telling us. Listen. Be open and curious. She also discusses generational gifts and heirlooms. We don't want to get rid of our parts; we want to get rid of the burdens so we can be in a healthy relationship with them. Tamala also talks about her new audio program, “Healing the Wounded Mother.” It's about going to the source first. She invites us to get to the root of what's happening so healing can occur.

Our guest today is Tamala Floyd, an expert in the Internal Family Systems model of psychotherapy. She discusses “parts” therapy and explains how to be in relationship with our “selves” and our internal guidance systems. Tamala is a psychotherapist, consultant, author, and speaker with more than 20 years of experience. Her books and audio include “Listening When Parts Speak” and “Healing the Wounded Mother.” She discusses how there is a part inside of us that is untouched. That is the Self. The other parts obscure this. It is when the separate parts come into relationship with each other that we can begin to become whole. When there is trauma, we cope by disassociating and our parts start to separate. They come up with strategies to keep us safe. If we grew up in an abusive household, we become dysfunctional. These previously used coping strategies no longer work. We can also take on generational trauma, and not even know it. It's carried in our DNA. We are disconnected from our original ancestor, but it was so important for survival, it continues down the generational line. Tamala talks about the effect of slavery. Her parents were raised in Jim Crow Louisiana. So few opportunities existed, so she was taught you had to be much better and pursue excellence to the point of perfection. There were not enough positions to go around, so you had to be excellent. How can we find the disenfranchised parts of ourselves? It starts by looking at things that aren't working. Tamala also explains that we can look at what causes us to be triggered. When those triggers happen, and we get upset, that's the starting point to find our parts. The first way to get in contact with a part is to see how it shows up. Does your stomach feel tight? Are you sensing your breath change? Our physical body reveals answers. We can be curious about these relationships, then get to a place where we feel the qualities of self. Tamala explains how what's left is our true self. She talks about the importance of the “8 Cs.”  The whole self has compassion, curiosity, calm, connectedness, courage, creativity, clarity, and confidence. When we recognize them, we can move toward peace and healing. Info: tamalafloyd.com

Would you like to change the negative patterns in your life? Did you know they could be based in your unconscious? Lisa continues the conversation today with Dr. Darren R. Weissman, who is a leading chiropractic holistic physician, author, and world-renowned expert on the subconscious mind. He developed The LifeLine Technique®, a holistic, self-healing system designed to process trauma, transform subconscious limiting beliefs, and evolve emotional intelligence. He explains how there are 3 things unconscious patterns do. They affect your vision and how you see things; they affect your hearing and how you hear things; and they affect your surroundings and your relationship to how you experience things. You feel by looking through these lenses that that's reality. We may believe that suffering is real. But, it's actually the lens you are looking through. Dr. Darren talks about the “Truth Question” – if you could choose to create your life, what would you choose? Would you ever create a level of pain, fear, and stress? Hell, no!! When we are in a subconscious pattern, we may not know that our pain is based on the choices we made. We are programmed to forget, then these programs become our personalities. The entire process of the Lifeline Technique is all about love. Dr. Darren talks about how to learn to create healthy boundaries. We can say Yes or No with love. When we shift our vibrations, we shift our consciousness. People can then make confident, calm decisions with clarity. We evolve and become present to who we are born to be. We courageously face our fears and realize we are capable. It is accessible to everyone. The Lifeline Technique is based in infinite love and gratitude. When you bridge the gap between the subconscious and conscious, you naturally begin to see the truth of an optimistic future. The more you align and create coherence, the deeper the levels of perception. The power is within us. This is truth. Do you experience the same challenges over and over? Do you know that these patterns in your life may be unconscious? Would you like to unravel these patterns? Today's guest is Dr. Darren R. Weissman, who is a leading chiropractic holistic physician, author, and world-renowned expert on the subconscious mind. He developed The LifeLine Technique®, a holistic, self-healing system designed to process trauma, transform subconscious limiting beliefs, and evolve emotional intelligence. Dr. Darren talks about how everyone is healing from something. Everyone has a story. These patterns, whether in health, relationships, finances, etc, are all run by unconscious patterns. All levels of pain, fear, and stress are trying to tell us something. It could be the same story running over and over. He explains how these sources of pain are actually portals, which are doorways to healing. Instead of looking at these as problems, we can look at them as portals and become curious learners. He talks about stepping into these portals, processing the memories they hold, and coming out successfully on the other side. We can utilize these portals and learn to receive answers from our higher selves. Triggers are key to learning about our subconscious patterns. These pain and coping mechanism patterns get activated in a powerful way. Dr. Darren talks about how his LifeLine Technique offers infinite love and gratitude as a way to heal. Our subconscious minds are at work every 3 to 5 seconds. We are always in a reactive state. If we are aware, we can see these patterns. Oftentimes these triggers have nothing to do with our present time. They frequently begin in childhood. When we get to the root memory, the core limiting belief can be affected by harmonizing it. The patterns are intertwined at a subconscious root. When those memories and patterns are unraveled at the subconscious level, our bodies can heal. This is what our bodies are meant to do – we are meant to self-heal. We can be self-loving. Dr. Darren explains how every disease begins in our subconscious. The body is always a reflection of the mind. Dr. Darren references the work of Dr. Bruce Lipton and his study of epigenetics. We don't perceive truth. We perceive what we believe. It's based on the outside. Our senses become conditioned based on particular moments of time. These moments get imprinted in our subconscious. The LifeLine Technique is a way to overcome these beliefs and live in a state of infinite love and gratitude. Are you feeling low energy? Do you feel stressed on a daily basis? The news is filled with stories of wars, mass shootings, rights getting overturned, economic uncertainty, and so much continuous devastation, it could seem that we are living in End Times.  Our guest today, scholar, philosopher, and researcher Jean Houston, Ph.D., delves into the idea of finding possibility, even during these times of great grief. We have been conditioned to respond to the terrible, but it does not have to be this way. As an icon in the Human Potential movement, Jean shares ideas about how the Renaissance, with its advancements in music, art, poetry, and cosmology,  came after great plagues and times of war, much like the world situation today. Could we be in a new Renaissance period now? We are once again in a similar time of radical growth, and we have the power within us to see new possibilities and reach mythical potential in our human evolution.   Jean shares stories of her travels and talks about her friendship with scholar Joseph Campbell and how they would have “beautiful fights” which were friendly arguments and deep discussions about mythology and the fate of humanity. Campbell wrote extensively about the “Hero's Journey,” while Jean considered the “Heroine's Journey.” Part of the problem is that 50% of the human race is not being recognized for women's immense creativity and power. Women's ways are missing. With an emphasis on compassion, cooperation, community, and process rather than product and competition, humane creativity must be celebrated by acknowledging the achievements of women.  She also talks about her fateful meeting of evolutionary philosopher and Jesuit priest Pierre Teilhard de Chardin who became one of her mentors when she was much younger. At an early age, they would have profound discussions of time, history, and transformation, as she gained an alternate education of possibilities through their talks. We air this today in honor of Jean Houston's upcoming 88th birthday. Info: JeanHouston.com

Lisa continues the conversation today with Dr. Carl Rothschild and Joyce Gerber, who also joins us, to talk about the multiple benefits of this therapy. Dr. Rothchild has been a chiropractor for many decades. Nearly 30 years ago, he was introduced to a healing method known as “Red Light Therapy.” Joyce Gerber, who is an expert nutritionist and colon hydrotherapist, met Dr. Carl Rothschild during the pandemic lockdown. Joyce was not able to do hands-on therapy, so she began working with Dr. Rothschild on his Red Light Therapy beds. She met a client who had heart problems. After 5 minutes, the therapy helped his heart tremendously. They explain how we are in a state of regeneration or degeneration. Joyce talks about how she also uses food as therapy. She looks at the whole body and how one part affects another. It's a holistic approach. The remedies are personalized. It's a powerful modality. Joyce explains how nutrition helps as well. Dr. Carl talks about how each session is 12 minutes. He says there have been no recorded side effects from this therapy. Your body will respond whether it needs to relax or be energized. The body knows how to get better. If you have any condition, the therapy may help. Mitochondrial activity is increased, and it will improve those particular areas. It is whole body healing. Dr. Carl explains that not only will you look better and feel better, you will have a better quality of life. Everyone can benefit from this non-invasive treatment. Joyce Gerber calls the mitochondria the energy factories of the cell. They are necessary for optimal health. Dr. Carl also discusses pain and the underlying causes. When corrected, the pain and inflammation go away. You must correct the underlying issues, and you can also reverse them with Red Light Therapy. He also discusses the difference between infared saunas using far-infared and the therapy beds. The near-infared waves affect the mitochondria. He also discusses blue and green lights too, and how blue light can negatively affect sleep patterns. The Red Light wavelengths are invisible to the naked eye. He talks about how there are more than 3 million documents and articles about the benefits of this therapy including studies from the National Institutes of Health. He further discusses how the therapy can also improve mood, sleep, and emotions. There are numerous locations around the country which have the Red Light Therapy Beds. How do you handle living in these intense times? With so much global change, including economic change, this may leave us feeling vulnerable and fearful. Our guest today is author and spiritual teacher Isha Judd. She talks about how we do not have to fall into the trap of being a victim. She teaches that we can shift our perspective to become more playful. If we focus on what she calls “love-consciousness,” we can learn to feel more secure. Our fears are not our reality. Our fears are about the future. If things affect you, you can go inner and find solutions. External security doesn't exist, especially in a constantly changing world.   Isha talks about the massive breakdown she had when she was 28 years old when she lost everything. Her life was in crisis. Her father died, her boyfriend died, her mother had a massive brain tumor, she lost her job, and her finances crashed all during the same time. She was overwhelmed and lost. Nothing was working on the outside. By soul-searching, she knew she could only go into herself. It was necessary to stop looking outside and go internal. Isha talks about how to free yourself from the most common fear-based illusions we cling to out of habit, how to empower yourself to permeate all your roles and responsibilities with love-consciousness, and more. Her objective was to find permanent joy and peace. She believes she can find love and acceptance every day. She discusses surrendering. In the past, she was always very successful. She was an overachiever because inside she didn't feel valued. She learned to be non-judgmental, which led to acceptance, and then empowerment. This is available to everyone. Isha has taught thousands of people a simple system that shows how to find the luminous state of mind she calls “love-consciousness,” in which every moment of life — even the most challenging and frustrating — can be filled with love, peace, and self-acceptance. Isha is the founder of Isha Educating for Peace and the author of “Why Walk When You Can Fly?” She travels throughout the world teaching diverse groups, including prisoners, ex–guerrilla soldiers, troubled youths, and the general public her unique approach to life and love. Are you looking for a different and safe method of healing? Have you heard about Red Light Therapy? Dr. Carl Rothschild and Joyce Gerber join us today to talk about the multiple benefits of this therapy. Dr. Rothchild has been a chiropractor for many decades. He loved helping people and had a goal of helping as many as he could. Nearly 30 years ago, he was introduced to a healing method known as “Red Light Therapy.” He started testing this therapy at his 12 practices and had profound results. Science at the time knew this was an element of the sun but couldn't quite explain how it worked. Hereditary diseases and auto-immune diseases have all seen beneficial results by using this therapy. Yet, many people and healthcare practitioners haven't even heard about this. Dr. Rothschild describes a particular patient who had severe burns. Within just a few weeks, the pain and scaring had improved dramatically by using this method. There's also a red light that helped with weight and fat loss. As a chiropractor, Dr. Rothschild believed he should remove the interference and allow the body to do what it does best, which is to heal. If your nervous system flows, you will feel better and have more energy. He talks about how light, and a smart diet can help. He also explains how it can soothe nerves and help with anxiety. He discusses how this red light can help and how science has done research on many ailments. He explains about the thousands of mitochondria in each cell. They are vitally important for optimal health. Red and near-infrared therapy can bring the mitochondria back to health.  It stimulates circulation. The safe elements of sunlight help tremendously – the two wavelengths of red and near-infared go deep into the person's body. During Covid, Dr. Rothschild and his team developed Red Light Therapy beds. A patient lies in the bed and the light penetrates deep. This helps the cells to work properly. It is getting to the cellular level to get the mitochondria to work properly so they can do their job. He explains that 10% of an adult's body weight is made up of mitochondria. This is a newer finding. If the cells are not functioning properly, diseases can happen, including auto-immune dysfunction. Dr. Rothschild has seen dramatic results in eyesight, headaches, and so much more by combining red light and near-infared light. This type of light will not cause a tan or damage to the skin. In fact, it also helps the skin to have less wrinkles and repairs it. The light penetrates inches into the body. It has an effect on distant cells as well. It can help with various organs and deep tissue healing. There are numerous locations around the country which have the Red Light Therapy Beds. This is Part 1 of the interview. Marcus is currently the Executive Director of the 5 Gyres Institute. He received his Ph.D. in Science Education from the University of Southern California in 2003, months before embarking on a 2000-mile, 5-month journey down the Mississippi River on a homemade raft of plastic bottles. His experience on the river led to a career studying the ecological impacts of plastic marine pollution, which has included 8 expeditions sailing 25,000 miles through all 5 subtropical gyres to discover new garbage patches of plastic pollution in the Southern Hemisphere and beyond. With an affinity for rafting, his most recent adventure sent him and a colleague across the Pacific Ocean from California to Hawaii on a homemade raft floating on 15,000 plastic bottles and a Cessna airplane fuselage as a cabin. The journey, 2,600 miles in 88 days, brought tremendous attention to the plastic pollution issue.   Info: Algalita.org and MarcusEriksen.com.

How do we break out of self-sabotage? The mind is biologically programmed to be negative. Lisa continues the conversation today with renunciate monk and author Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati. Sadhvi has lived on the banks of the sacred Ganges River in Rishikesh, India, for the past 30 years. Originally from Los Angeles, and a graduate of Stanford University, she holds a Ph.D. in psychology. Sadhvi explains how we are the offspring of people who know they need to survive. Our ancestors needed to assume the worst, in order to survive. We have evolved this way. And, we know that we can now change. We can reprogram our minds. Sadhvi suggests using a mantra. It doesn't have to be in Sanskrit. It's anything that can bring you into the present moment and out of negativity. We can reason with our minds, and sometimes we need to face the negativity, but more often we can delete and end the cycle of negativity. “OM” is a very common mantra. It's very powerful. Chanting also helps. This stops the mind. She gives examples of many different mantras and prayers. The sounds help the brain go into a state of coherence. She also talks about attending the Maha Kumbh Mela where more than 670 million people came to the Ganges river recently to attend the largest gathering in the history of the world. The Maha Kumbh Mela means the great festival of the nectar of immortality. It took place on the confluence of the banks of 3 great rivers in India.  There was no conflict, no violence; it was just people coming together in love and peace. She further discusses the astrology of the moment, especially the full moons. Vedic astrology predicts that this particular planetary alignment happens only once every 144 years. With hundreds of millions of people attending the gathering, this shows that people are suffering and looking for answers. People are angry. People are frustrated. People are searching for answers. This was a way to break out of constraints and experience freedom. When asked about anger, she expressed that there are some reasons to be angry including poverty, hunger, loss of human rights, and so much more. Yet, when we are angry, we are called to be agents of change, but first we must find peace within ourselves so we can then help others. She offers breathing exercises with specific energy centers and anchoring. Whether it's other people's actions, or even the weather, we shouldn't have expectations that things will be different. We cannot control others. We must bring light to the darkness, but not from a place of anger. She notes Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Jr, and Gandhi and how they were angry but came from a place of peace to make change.   Sadhvi is a bestselling author, a world-renowned speaker, a recipient of President Biden's Award for a Lifetime of Service, and she serves on the United Nations Advisory Council on religion. She talks further about her new book “Come Home to Yourself” and discusses how forgiveness is the key to help us reach deeper spiritual truths. It's an invitation to come home to freedom. Sadhvi has lived on the banks sacred Ganges River in Rishikesh, India, for the past 30 years. Originally from Los Angeles, and a graduate of Stanford University, she holds a Ph.D. in psychology. Seemingly having it all, she realized at the young age of 25, that she was not happy. Although she was married and excelled academically, she felt restless and was always wanting more. She had overcome childhood traumas, abuse, a severe eating disorder, and depression. She knew there must be another way. Upon arriving in India, she had an unexpected and profound spiritual experience. She only went to India because her husband wanted to go. She left with only a backpack, thinking this would be a semester break. Suddenly, while standing on the banks of the Ganges River, she was overwhelmed with ecstasy. Several days later she randomly walked past a beautiful, clean ashram. It felt like an oasis to her. She was walking through it and heard a voice say, “You must stay here.” She didn't see anyone, and she was a scientist, so of course she ignored it. One minute later, she heard the voice again, and still didn't see anyone. She was just about to ignore it again, when she remembered she made a promise to herself while on the flight to India. She asked herself to “keep her heart open.” The fact she was in India made no sense to her. She was not religious, and she was not spiritual, yet she always believed there would be a plan. This felt perfect and she knew this must somehow be aligned. Sadvhi further shares her story about realizing that things were planned. Being a scientist, she does not believe in random events. Although she still believes in science, she was open to possibilities. She knew that if she didn't want to stay in India, it would be very easy for her to return to the US. She ended up staying at the ashram and working with the spiritual teacher there. The ashram is dedicated to self-realization and awakening for all. The devotees there believe in the betterment of all and help to provide food for the hungry, empower women, and offer free medical care, as well as a spiritual path for anyone who is interested. They have yoga programs, philosophy programs, sacred ceremonies, all taught by example from the guru there. They focus on love and compassion for all. Sadhvi is a bestselling author, a world-renowned speaker, a recipient of President Biden's Award for a Lifetime of Service, and she serves on the United Nations Advisory Council on religion. Sadhvi's latest book is “Come Home to Yourself.” This book is the edited version of the Q&A sessions that she teaches each night in the ashram. She is a vessel for wisdom to pour through her. She feels that the gift she was given was to come home to the truth. She wants to offer these powerful teachings as a way for each person to find the truth within themselves. We all have the answers within. We may just need to be reminded that we can end our suffering by coming home to ourselves. We don't need to constantly be taught; we just need to be guided back into ourselves to find the truth.  Info: www.sadhviji.org

How can you have a conversation with someone who has differing views than you do? How can you allow for the conflict that might ensue? Can you be understanding and compassionate? Or do you walk away? According to our guest today, author, therapist, and relationship expert Carolyn Sharp, there are ways to handle being triggered. This is a normal and natural response when we feel fear. If we can soften, it will ease the trigger, and we can begin to feel calmer. Carolyn explains that if we learn to be curious, rather than judgmental, we can get through these intense moments. When we stay focused on just the facts, we disconnect from the curiosity. We can feel misunderstood and not heard. We can feel that people are not respecting us. This is prevalent in our country and especially missing culturally now. We all want to be understood and recognized. For example, many people may disagree about how the government wants to enforce judgements and control the narrative. We must create space to talk about things in a safe way. Make it safe for both sides. It's a matter of acknowledging and not judging. If someone feels wrong, it erodes compassion. This can lead to violence and lack of safety. Carolyn also discusses her recent book, “Fire It Up: Reigniting Intimacy and Joy in Your Relationship” and how she wrote it for couples and people in relationships. It's about compassionate communication. She addresses various aspects of couples including what to do when one lies or even is unfaithful. She talks about how lying is extraordinarily common in relationships, especially during the courtship phase. As an example, someone may ask, “How do you like the dinner I cooked?” and the other person may feel the need to be overly complimentary, even if they dislike it. She talks about a culture where people feel safe enough to be completely honest. If we continue with “white lies” we eventually stop recognizing that we are lying. In this Age of Social Media, we are experiencing general people, who are not trained journalists, reporting what they believe is fact. People are stating opinions and claiming it as fact. This becomes very hard for us to decipher and can lead to major disagreements. Carolyn also talks about the importance of investing in your relationships, and specifically with your partner. She addresses if someone in the partnership cheats and how traumatic it can be.  If the other person is not hearing you, it's important to decide if it's healthy to stay in the relationship. If it's in a situation with co-workers or with your boss, you may need to just “agree to disagree.” We are not able to change others. We can only change ourselves. Fighting doesn't allow for this opportunity. In politics and such a divided nation, it's challenging to acknowledge one another. It is impacting many aspects of our lives. Many people feel betrayed and hurt. We are living in an intense time, and Carolyn suggests getting support around your feelings. These are complicated times, but there are ways to de-escalate and disengage. Everyone has to decide what they need in their relationships. You can value the other person's support yet not agree with them. It's better to be honest and respectful and see if you can come to a place of radical acceptance. In honor of March being Women's History Month, we ask -- What does it mean to be a Warrior Goddess? To our guest today, author and teacher HeatherAsh Amara, that means reclaiming both our power and our compassion as women. We must have both of these qualities. It's a renewal of our commitment, passion, and creativity.   Women today juggle a lot of roles and often put the needs of others ahead of their own. And even then, they often feel like they're not enough. Women can feel like they are not able to speak up and have their voices heard. Although things may have changed on the outside, on the inside we may still feel self-doubt where we don't honor ourselves deeply. We often put ourselves last, especially when we recognize how women tend to be caretakers. HeatherAsh advises us to take time for self-care. It's so important. She suggests setting up “date nights” with ourselves, whether this means going out to a museum, or taking a long bath at home. HeatherAsh talks about the idea of receiving and recommends that we ask for support, so that we are not placing the entire burden on ourselves. HeatherAsh also offers tips as to how to raise a Warrior Goddess daughter. We must be the role models. HeatherAsh also discusses her book, “Warrior Goddess Training.” She'll show you how to release the layers of expectations to finally see yourself for the authentic, perceptive, perfect woman you already are! Info: warriorgoddess.com

Do you wake up feeling stressed? Do you immediately think about all the things you have to do and experience a sense of dread? Lisa continues the conversation today with our guest, author and spiritual teacher Blake Bauer. Blake's international bestselling book is “You Were Not Born to Suffer: Overcome Fear, Insecurity and Depression and Love Yourself Back to Happiness, Confidence and Peace.” Blake suggests if you are waking up and feeling stressed, you may not know how to have a healthy relationship with yourself. You may not know how to love yourself. He knows that life does not have to be this way. You are so much more. When you take note of how you feel in the morning, you can work with what's present. Blake suggests 10 minutes of meditation first thing in the morning. Your thoughts will shape your day. When you wake up and dislike your life, you are activating fear, stress, and anxiety. You start to make yourself sick with your thoughts. By meditating, you learn to have thoughts that serve you. You can activate healthy neural networks which will help you to create more of what you want in your life. You can override stressful thoughts and create your day by being disciplined and mindful with your thoughts. Why not use your thoughts to create a better reality? It all starts with self-love. You can begin with intentions. You can state affirmations. By doing these practices you get your mind ready to receive. It's Law of Attraction. Conversely, if you are suffering, you are hurting yourself and not even realize you may be hurting others. As the saying goes, “Hurt people hurt people.” Blake talks about the science of self-healing and how when you learn to filter your thoughts with more loving, mindful practices and you act on integrity, the love, light, and healthy energy inside can transform you. It involves self-care. The love inside will help you rid the sorrow and trauma. Your anger can be healed, and you can learn to forgive. You do not have to live in a place of suffering. The more you release what holds you back, the quicker you can move forward. You can create positive energy and possibilities. We can start with one tiny act of kindness, and that will begin to make all the difference. When he was in school studying Chinese Medicine, Blake also learned about the practice of Qi Gong and how this gentle, loving form of exercise has been a tremendous help to his physical state.  He found it was the perfect way to find peace, by bridging movement with his meditation practice. He explains that Qi Gong is the foundation of all of Chinese Medicine and a way to unlock what's stuck and clear any blocks. It's another way to give yourself permission to feel worthy and send that signal to the universe! Info: www.unconditional-selflove.com
