Tune in here to this Tuesday's edition of Breaking With Brett Jensen! Breaking with Brett Jensen kicks the show off by talking about the political chaos and legal battle unfolding in Cabarrus County. A lawsuit was filed challenging the sudden appointment of a new county commissioner without the resignation of commissioner Chris Measmer, who was appointed to a state senate seat. A judge issued a temporary restraining order, halting the swearing-in of the new commissioner due to concerns of “irreparable harm” and possible violations of state law. Brett is joined by Mark Garrison, who highlights how Measmer previously opposed the very maneuver he just pulled. Brett and Mark also discuss Cabarrus GOP leaders in chair Lanny Lancaster and vice chair Jim Quick, who have been accused of manipulating the process and retaliating against fellow Republicans who oppose their selection to the commission. The situation has left the county commission under scrutiny, with residents demanding transparency and open government. A follow-up hearing will be held within 10 days. Jensen also is also joined by WBTV Reporter David Hodges to discuss how the long-standing internal battles within the Cabarrus County Republican Party have led to the current controversy. The tension traces back to disputes involving former commissioner Steve Morris, who lost his seat following a lengthy SBI investigation that was later dismissed. Tune in here to this Thursday's edition of Breaking With Brett Jensen! Breaking with Brett Jensen kicks the show off by talking about the chaotic political situation in Cabarrus County, and a new bill aimed at addressing North Carolina’s teacher shortage. Jensen begins by diving into the controversy surrounding Cabarrus County Board Chair Chris Measmer, who is accused of manipulating board rules to ensure his allies remain in control after his appointment to the state Senate. Despite not officially resigning, Measmer’s decision to vote for his own replacement has sparked outrage and is expected to lead to legal challenges. Later, Jensen discusses House Bill 806 with state representatives David Willis and Heather Rhyne. This bill is seen as a potential solution to the staffing crisis, providing higher pay than substitutes but lower than certified teachers. Lastly, Jensen shifts focus to crime statistics in Mecklenburg County, sharing insights from CMPD's press conference on first-quarter 2025 data. The report reveals a decrease in overall crime, with violent crime down by 17% and property crime reduced by 4%. Send us a Text Message. Slam the Gavel welcomes Jerry and Jeeter Anderson to the podcast. They have been seriously wronged in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. Mr. Jerry Anderson, a VETERAN, was only seeking help for his daughter with mental health issues in 2016. He called on DSS for help and that's when the destruction of his family began, including the removal of his granddaughter who was quickly adopted out. Through the family court process, Judge Christy Wilhelm and DSS, took his daughter's daughter away from her which caused her to rapidly decline. She passed in 2017. Mr. Anderson wants answers. Recently in March, Mr. Anderson was court watching on a case with Judge N. Knust with Attorney Jay White present in the courtroom. They announced they were going into recess and were going to close the courtroom. Mr. Anderson spoke out asking, why the court watchers can't come in. The court looked irritated. Also, Mr. Anderson saw a caseworker that was on his daughter's case and called her a liar. Attorney Jay White spoke with Judge Knust and decided to put Mr. Anderson, age 70, in handcuffs. He explained to the judge that he got emotional and apologized. Judge Knust held him in contempt for FOUR DAYS in the Cabarrus County Jail, which is underground, and Mr. Anderson suffered Human Rights Violations at that time. He didn't eat for four days due to questionable food and on the last day they kept the lights onand put the air-conditioning on him. Mr. Anderson, 70 years old and a VETERAN, froze on his last night in prison. Slam the Gavel welcomes back Amanda Story, last on the podcast Season 4; Episodes 125 and 142. Amanda's case takes place in Forsyth County, NC. Amy Palacios was last on the podcast Season 3; Episodes 147, 165 and 179, Season 4; Episodes 134, 145 and 150, Season 5; Episodes 22 and 70. Amy's case takes place in Cabarrus County, NC. We discussed their "family court" cases and the common thread is that the extortion that takes placed in the "family courtroom," amidst threats of jail and being forced into to "debtor's prison," which was ABOLISHED in 1833, constantly persist in the cases of these young mothers. God only knows what they are doing to good, fit loving fathers and grandparents as well. We discussed Amanda Story's updates where she has been through so many judges, ones she has NEVER MET and where sanctions have been placed. The Judge called her indigent and ordered her to pay $400.00 by February 20th to opposing counsel and the judge backdated the order to 2023. Amanda encourages parents to PAY ATTENTION and to get recordings as well as check through the Certificate Of Service DATES including the YEAR. Amanda has had a VIOLATION of all HER RIGHTS including ADA, DUE PROCESS and HIPPA. Go through YOUR DOCKET to make sure the time line is accurate. Amanda encourages parents to study what DARVO means: Deny Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender. Amanda has been met with RETALIATION. Every time they kidnapped Amy Palacios's children, which was seven times in the last 15 YEARS it was done EXPARTE COMMUNICATIONS, which means Amy was NEVER in the courtroom. EXPARTE and CONTINUANCES NEVER END. The LEGAL ABUSE and FINANCIAL ABUSE never ends. There are TIES to the District Attorney's Office.... The first judge Amanda had was Judge T. Kazakos. On a whim, he stripped Amanda Story OF HER 50/50 RIGHTS and she never went before him. It was done EXPARTE. Apparently the Judge sits on the STOP CHILD ABUSE board. Parents have to pay for supervised visits and parenting classes. Amanda's case involved gun violence toward her child. WHY? So much information on the corruption of what really goes on in the "family court" system in NORTH CAROLINA. Slam the Gavel welcomes back Amy Palacios to the podcast. Amy Palacios was last on the podcast Season 3, Episodes 147, 165 and 179; Season 4, Episodes 134, 145 and 150; Season 5, Episode 22. Updating her case, Amy spoke about how her case and how it has been "continued" multiple times, while threats of going to jail to pay Jay White (who was both ex husband's attorneys in the past, which is a major conflict of interest), head of DSS $36,000.00 or go to jail. Amy did have a "win" in Supreme Court, NC. However, a shady deal went on and the order was completely REMOVED. Amy asked where the order was. She then got a "dismissal," wrote from a clerk of court, who dismissed without anything over a year later and written as if a 5 year old wrote it. Amy filed to the Supreme Court before she had gotten her "gatekeeper" and "gag order," and they still won't take off her 19 1/2 year old and one soon to be 18 and "should" be falling off the ASTRONOMICAL child support extortion bill she is paying her ex husband to the tune of $2,800 a month. The child support order would never be reduced, "because of the paperwork." Which means the Gatekeeper order. Amy explained further. Selling her three horses and DSS is considering them "income," when their sale was used to pay the $70,000.00 to her ex-husband. Jay White also fired everyone who was working underneath him because of a an open investigation into DSS. However, 1 Corinthians 6: 9,10 will prevail. Amy was featured in the book, "RAISED BY THESE WOLVES, How Family And Federal Courts Are Failing Our Children." A week later, the school board will now take a vote on it. Tuesday, Cooperative Strategies will present its final plan to the Cabarrus County Board of Education detailing which realignment choice would best suit the district. It comes as the district is struggling with schools that are reaching maximum capacity. Last year, the school board hired California-based Cooperative Strategies to come up with solutions to ease the issue of overcrowding. Cooperative Strategies came up with three plans -- each plan varied in the amount of movement that it would cause for students in the district. Slam the Gavel welcomes back Amy Palacios to the podcast. Amy Palacios was last on the podcast Season 3, Episodes 147, 165 and 179; Season 4, Episodes 134, 145 and 150. Amy came on to give updates to her case as she has court on November 13th, 2023 for Child Support and on December 19th, 2023 where they "plan" to jail her. Amy explained that she has a case that was filed in the Supreme Court of North Carolina and is awaiting a ruling. However, other court appearances should be "stayed," but of course are not. She also has two children that are turning 18 and "should" be falling off the ASTRONOMICAL child support extortion bill she is paying her ex husband $2,800 a month. He even tried to put his step-children on medical bills, but Amy caught that and was reimbursed. Being railroaded by the system, where her first attorney fought for her child support in the beginning, now he is representing BOTH ex-husbands. This is UNETHICAL and a conflict of interest as well as collusion. Her children are being Raised By These Wolves as they come back to her with belligerence, poor manners and disrespect. However, after Amy takes them to church, their behaviors do improve so she can have a nice period of time with them. What makes us love those SCARY stories? The ones that send chills down our spines? The ones that defy explanation and make us think twice about turning off the lights? It's hard to pinpoint exactly why we're such suckers for a scary tale, but this much is certain: In places with a rich history, there are plenty of them around. Such is the case right here in Cabarrus County. On this episode of Did Y'all Hear, we're celebrating the spooky and touring the county with some of our favorite neighborhood storytellers: Vickey Cline and Carolyn Carpenter. NOTE: If you're listening at home, lock the doors, dim the lights and grab the sage … we're going on a ghost hunt. Slam the Gavel welcomes back Amy Palacios. Amy last on the podcast Season 3, Episodes 147, 165 and 179 and Season 4, Episode13. She is a Mother of six children. In Amy's case there are two ex-husbands fighting in court with the SAME lawyer, Attorney Jay White to perpetuate 14 years of corruption. Her first ex-husband paid the second ex-husband $50,000.00 to be a false witness against her. Her case started in Mecklenburg County and has now moved to Cabarrus County, NC. Now both ex's along with an attorney, Jay White wants to extort monies from Amy or put her in jail days before Christmas....but that didn't happen. This is the most egregious crime committed against this mother, a Nurse Practitioner. Amy is was asking for Court Watchers on February 9th. I was there. How is Amy making it through this rough time in Family Court without giving up? She has a STRENGTH and FAITH in GOD that is maneuvering her through the labyrinth of the extortion via Family Court. Amy feels at peace. The MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION is: will Amy go to DEBTOR'S PRISON that WAS ABOLISHED IN 1833 and UNCONSTITUTIONAL tomorrow September 5th, 2023 for NON-SUPPORT. There is no due process in her case. No evidence has been taken into consideration. IS IT EVER? Amy has paid one of her ex-husbands over $33,000.00 in child support this year. Apparently Attorney Jay White feels entitled to $70,000.00 as well, expecting $800.00 per month until she reaches $70,000.00. Amy has ALREADY PAID HIM $2,500.00. What a DISGRACE, especially when Jay White is Head of DSS CHILD SUPPORT. DO YOU SEE THE ISSUE HERE? Judge Nate Knust has allowed testimony from one of her ex-husbands, while in an orange jumpsuit threatening Amy's life. AGAIN NO CONSEQUENCES. Technically, Amy should have sole-custody and the ex-husbands on visitation. Amy says that they call her crazy - SOUND FAMILIAR? YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS AND CALL ANY PARENT CRAZY THEN EXPECT ANY TYPE OF CHILD SUPPORT OUT OF THEM. This is HUMAN TRAFFICKING at its FINEST. A month has passed since a mobile home park in Kannapolis was flooded due to torrential rain. Dozens of residents had to evacuate and power was knocked out for days. The city of Kannapolis, Cabarrus County, and the Red Cross asked Camino to help because of its extensive experience working with the Latino community for the last 20 years. The organization has been sending out team members on a weekly basis to check in with neighbors. Deidre John, Camino's director of community outreach and engagement, told WCNC Charlotte they assisted 26 families, or a total of 80 people, to move back home. Cabarrus County school leaders are working to ramp up mental health resources for students, with data showing the ratio of students to counselors is drastically lagging behind. "We're sitting at one social worker to every 1,144 students, and we're supposed to be one to 250," the school district said. "There is a capacity issue." They say the goal is to ensure no students are being left out, and that there are enough psychologists and social workers to evenly cover buildings. "The social workers and psychologists can't be there because we don't have enough of them to have them staffed one per school," the district said. Hector Mendoza, 23, Savannah Brehm, 23, and Keith Strughill, 21, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and failing to properly secure a firearm that led to the death of Mendoza and Brehm's son, Michael Mendoza, 4, the Gaston County District Attorney's Office said on Monday. Cabarrus County school leaders are working to ramp up mental health resources for students, with data showing the ratio of students to counselors is drastically lagging behind."We're sitting at one social worker to every 1,144 students, and we're supposed to be one to 250," the school district said. "There is a capacity issue."They say the goal is to ensure no students are being left out, and that there are enough psychologists and social workers to evenly cover buildings."The social workers and psychologists can't be there because we don't have enough of them to have them staffed one per school," the district said.READ MORE: https://www.wcnc.com/article/news/education/cabarrus-county-schools-mental-health-education/275-e477083c-dac9-4e85-8b97-d2e8387d20f3Three people have been convicted in relation to a child's death in December 2022.Hector Mendoza, 23, Savannah Brehm, 23, and Keith Strughill, 21, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and failing to properly secure a firearm that led to the death of Mendoza and Brehm's son, Michael Mendoza, 4, the Gaston County District Attorney's Office said on Monday.Hector Mendoza and Brehm received 36-month probation sentences. Slam the Gavel welcomes Amy Palacios last on the podcast Season 3, Episode 147, 165 and 179. What will happen on January 25th or February 9th at 9:00am? Amy is asking for Court Watchers on February 9th. People ask Amy how is she doing it? How is she making it through this rough time in Family Court without giving up? She has a STRENGTH and FAITH in GOD that is maneuvering her through the labyrinth of the extortion via Family Court. Even her ADA Advocate has asked, "why is this continuing to happen?" This has been going on for 14 years. When will it end? We discussed that families started falling apart because they don't know Jesus and that the court is corrupt and the harder you fight with God on your side the devil's fight back just as hard because they don't want justice but God is in control. To Reach Amy Palacios: To Reach Amy: Facebook Amy Hendricks Urban, (Urban)/PalaciosCOURT WATCHERS NEEDED FOR FEBRUARY 9TH AT 0900, COURTROOM #4.Supportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)http://www.dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.com/Support the showSupportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)http://www.dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.com/
This week I am so honored to introduce you to someone I'm thrilled to have on who I met through a mutual friend and former guest on the show, John Paul Rice! When John reached out about doing this interview, I knew this would be an amazing show full of value! Joining us this week is Tracy Minchin - Founder and Director of ‘The Ruby Organization'! In their words: “The Ruby Organization is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. In coordination with other area service providers, we offer resources and mentoring for women seeking to leave the sex industry or are victims of human trafficking. We provide awareness training for the community and have a field team working with women in area strip clubs and the sex industry to offer hope and opportunity.” One of the many reasons I'm excited to speak to Tracy today is because one of the most frequent questions I get asked is, “What can I do to get involved in this fight against human sex trafficking?” Hopefully this episode inspires you to walk away with amazing insight on how to research organizations that exist in your area while also giving you some tools on what questions to ask and what to look for in your own quest to take action. The other reason why I'm excited to have Tracy on is because we are going to talk about an element of sex trafficking that we haven't covered in depth often enough on this show - adult sex trafficking. If you've been following our podcasts, you have heard many stories of the horrific things that happen to children when they are born or sold into these horrific systems. But what happens to that child down the road if they never leave or escape these systems? What happens to the naive and vulnerable adult women who weren't born into these systems but get promised money, a lavish lifestyle, and fame and fortune, only to be thrown into a strip club to end up being trafficked and abused? The adult entertainment industry is a cesspool of human trafficking, and we should all be so grateful that someone like Tracy volunteers her time to rescue women out of these abusive systems.
