Brent Axe chats live following Syracuse basketball's 77-62 loss to Louisville on Tuesday night. As for the game, Louisville went bombs away from 3-point range (14-35) while SU answered weakly from 3-point range with a 4-19 performance (0-11 in the 1st half). The Orange were lost on offense, a sieve on defense and fell to 15-15 (6-11 ACC) overall All eyes are on moving on from Adrian Autry as head coach, an unavoidable scenario now, and the cavalry that needs to come in to save SU basketball. The first step took place on Tuesday with the appointment of Michael Haynie as SU's new Chancellor. A new athletic director could be in place soon and then the official focus on Autry's replacement once SU's season ends likely next week in the ACC Tournament. Donnie Freeman got ejected. Brent Axe chats live following Syracuse basketball's 101-64 loss to Duke on Monday night. It was the worst conference loss for SU since it joined the ACC and in the three-year Adrian Autry era as head coach. Brent Axe chats live following Syracuse basketball's 79-78 win over SMU on Saturday afternoon. Syracuse trailed SMU by 12 points but came back to clinch the win a Nate Kingz drive with 2.3 seconds remaining.  Axe dicsussed how SU made the comeback and credited Adrian Autry and the Orange for how they have played in the last week after hitting a low point at Virginia last week, a game in which Kiyan Anthony was benched. Brent Axe recaps Syracuse basketball's 88-68 loss to NC State.  The Orange have hit the low point of Adrian Autry's tenure as head coach as it hit its first four-game losing streak under the Orange head coach.  Quadir Copeland, a guard Syracuse told to hit the road two years ago, dropped 19 points and 10 assists on the Orange in what turned into a blowout loss.  Axe discusses how some of the same old mistakes haunted Syracuse in loss including a lack of offensive cohesion and quality shots at the hoop. Brent Axe chats live following Syracuse basketball's 85-76 loss to Miami at the JMA Dome. The Orange have now lost three straight games, falling to 12-8 (3-4 in ACC). All conversations about SU going forward will be swamped by the job status of Orange head coach Adrian Autry. There were "Fire Autry!" chants at the Dome on Saturday and several boos from the crowd. Brent Axe recaps Syracuse basketball's 76-74 loss to Virginia Tech on Wednesday night. Syracuse's season and Adrian Autry's seat have hit a boiling point after two bad losses for the Orange that dropped them to 12-7 (3-3).  Fans are fed up. There were audible boos and chants to fire the coach in a sparsely-attended JMA Dome on Wednesday night.  Autry was visibly frustrated in his press conference, dropping an F bomb just 30 seconds in. Brent Axe chats live following Syracuse basketball's 82-72 win over Georgia Tech.  It was a tale of two halves for Syracuse. The Orange offense was humming in the first half. SU scored a season-high 44 points before halftime. The ball and the team were moving and Donnie Freeman showed his importance to the Orange on the way to a game-high 27 points.  SU was up by 20 points at one point of the game, but saw that lead melt down in the 2nd half to just five with 11 2nd-half turnovers and consistent defensive miscues. Wins are hard to get on the road in the ACC but SU made it just a little too hard on themselves in this one. Brent Axe recaps Syracuse basketball's 71-63 win over St. Joseph's at the JMA Dome on Thursday night.  It wasn't a pretty game at all for the Orange, who got worked in the paint (St. Joe's out-rebounded SU 44-34) and just couldn't find a rhythm on offense.  Axe described the combination of factors that led to such a blah night at the Dome. SU had 9 days off entering the game. It was a late 9 p.m on a snowy night in Syracuse. Players had exams this week and a few were under the weather. Brent Axe recaps Syracuse basketball's 80-71 loss to Kansas in Las Vegas on Tuesday night.  Syracuse failed to find an offensive rhythm or go-to guy with Donnie Freeman on the bench with an injury for the 2nd straight game. SU shot 32% (20-63) with a 7-30 (23%) mark from 3-point range against the Jayhawks. SU struggled from the free throw line against Kansas, shooting 13-23 (56.5%). Kiyan Anthony was 2-12 against the Jayhawks, including 0-6 from 3-point range. Brent Axe recaps Syracuse basketball's 78-74 loss to Houston in overtime at the Player's Era Festival in Las Vegas. #FreeThrowsMatter always, but SU's 12-of-29 (41%) performance at the stripe against the Cougars in Las Vegas was especially costly, tossing aside what would have been a major non-conference win for SU's NCAA Tournament resume.
