It all kicked off over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend with Keith Long departing Waterford and Marc Canham announcing his departure from the FAI. The lads also chew the fat on Bohs incredibly derby day comeback, Cork City's late winner in the Munster derby against Waterford and discuss reports linking Ruaidhrí Higgins with the Blues job and the vacant position at Athlone. Who were the big winners and losers over the Easter weekend and more importantly what Easter eggs if any did the lads get? All of this is brought to you by our sponsor QuinnAv.ie
After this morning's downpour, many of us are left wondering — is this a taste of what's to come for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend? We've got Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather on the line to give us the latest forecast, insights on what's driving the weather patterns, and whether it's safe to dust off the BBQ or pack the rain gear.
This weekend is, of course, the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. A host of events across the Catholic Church and Church of Ireland will be taking place over the coming days. For example, Holy Thursday will have the Mass of the Lord's Supper, which is a commemoration of the first Eucharist. It finishes with a special Eucharistic procession to the altar of repose. To find out more, Alan Morrissey was joined by Bishop of Killaloe, Fintan Monahan, and Church of Ireland Bishop of Tuam, Limerick, and Killaloe, Michael Burrows. The 2025 Pat Broderick Memorial Tionól is taking place this Easter Bank Holiday weekend. The Piping Heaven Piping Hell event will bring a host of top-class musicians to Ennis. To find out more, Alan Morrissey was joined by organiser, Blackie O'Connell, and Clare FM's Sean Lyons. Photo (c): Clare FM
Zimmer Biomet Pairc Chiosiog will play host to a massive double header of Munster championship action on Easter Bank Holiday Weekend. On Saturday at 2pm, Clare face Tipperary in the Munster SFC semi-final, while 24 hours later, a sold-out capacity of almost 21,000 people will file through the gates for Clare's Munster SHC clash with Cork. Tickets for the hurling game are the hottest commodity in the county with a slight increase in capacity granted for the fixture to allow as many fans as possible to attend. To discuss this further, Alan Morrissey was joined by Head of Operations with Clare GAA, Deirdre Murphy and Ennis Chamber President, Diarmuid McMahon. The Community Playground and Astroturf was briefly closed over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, due to what was referred to on a Facebook post as “obscene behaviour”. As the government's expansion of free childcare hours begins with an extension to two-year-olds, Sean Farrington speaks to the boss of one of the UK's biggest nursery chains about the impact it could have.Inflation in shop prices has eased to its lowest level since December 2021, according to new data - is this a reason for optimism?And now that the Easter Bank Holiday weekend is over, we hear from hospitality businesses on how trade has been.
March of many weathers hasn't really lived up to its reputation and the constant rain has left sodden pitches countrywide for an Easter double header. While Duffer, once he gets out of Johnny's head, bemoans the state of said pitches, and threatens to produce his own "straight story" on his Da's ride on, there's a missing interview and a catch up with Jon Daly and Ruaidhri Higgins before we welcome Barry Murphy and his geometric geographical analysis of when a goalkeeper is not a goalkeeper and when 53 degrees north of the penalty spot isn't spot on. In the Collar & Cuff mailbag the lads discuss the biggest LOI crowd this century and explain why 'These Are Days' we'll remember even though 10,000 maniacs weren't in attendance and offer their take on O'Donnell and why Dundalk needed a UCD this season. As Future Ticketing, Collar & Cuff and Rascals Brewery continue to nonchalantly sign off on this pod we also ask whats more relevant than a Damien Duff nothing story, what's it like to be a number 2, and what is Bob Dylan whispering to Johnny's unborn child. The Times they are a-Changin' but episode 8 is just more of the same.

Clare Gardaí are imploring motorists to take weather and road conditions into account when embarking on their Easter Bank Holiday Weekend journeys. 55 people have lost their lives on Irish roads so far this year which is 13 more than on this date last year. A survey carried out by the Road Safety Authority shows 45% of motorists travelling on 50km/h roads in 2023 were driving in excess of the speed limit. With consistent rain expected throughout the weekend, Head of the Roads Policing Unit in the Clare-Tipperary Garda Division, Superintendent Eddie Golden has been telling Clare FM's Sean Lyons that particularly in inclement weather, drivers mustn't view speed limits as targets.

The last of 15 hours of Thameside Radio's 1982 Easter Bank Holiday 1982 broadcast. After a mammoth broadcast The Intrepid Birdman hands over Bob Edwards. Bob won't tell us where he was. Mark, Ian and Dave are still at the studio so we hear from them too. The transmitter turns itself off duding quiet patches of songs - an eternal problem with the Thameside transmitter chain! It also says something about Bob's music taste, he liked songs that have quiet patches. The "bits of a Thameside DJ" prize turns out to be some of Paul's hair! Paul likes the surname Garfunkel and Bob tells Paul that he could change his name by Interpol. I think he meant "deed poll" though. Mentions for Mark Lynden; Laurence from Carshalton ; Trev Holmes from Ruislip ; CD breaker "Chelsea Girl" from Pinner ;
