If you really want something, do it, and then just keep doing it, and doing it until you get really good at it.Born in New York and raised in Chicago, David Llauger Meiselman grew up in a gypsy, artsy-fartsy environment that heavily influenced him, so after he turned 18, he went back to New York to "do theatre" out there. The Big Apple was just too much for him, so he tried LA, where he found the place to evolve his art and realized he wanted to direct, not act. His first project, a Blair Witch type of material "no one ever saw" called "LA River Stories," taught him dozens of valuable lessons, experience, and the conviction that he wouldn't stop until making it. He has produced and directed plays, poetry slams, television pilots, radio shows, documentaries, and animated series. He produced and directed "El Matadero," "1st Strike" and "Strike One" with Danny Trejo and Billy Gallo, and the TV series, "Paris Falls." His most recent work, "The Tunnel: Interview with a Moster," produced and directed by him, is a short based on his first project, "LA River Stories." David is also a founding member and present American Latino Theatre artistic director. Throughout this episode, David shares his thoughts on the importance of resilience and tenacity to succeed in Hollywood, whether as an actor, director, or producer. You'll learn about his particular way of chasing his dreams, his passion for writing and directing horror films, and his relentless attitude of constantly honing his craft. We also talk about our experiences working with the legend Danny Trejo, what David looks for in an actor during an audition, and much more.

Alicia takes off on her own and discovers what we all know about children’s ball pits. Seriously, never ever get into one!!! Even more dangerous during a Zombie Apocalypse!!! Madison and the gang go back to this world’s version of a post-apocalyptic Costco to stock up and meet with Daniel. And, talk about not going as planned. Nick is all ‘Brain Stemming’ it up at the local Bazaar-o Drug Den, with Troy hesitantly joining and have a Fear and Loathing in Mexicali moment to enjoy. And Strand… dear Strand… what are you up to? Why do you seem to be up to no good? We enjoyed this episode overall, but there were some issues and more questions that I hope we get answers to in the Season 3 finale. And, with the announcement about the Crossover Event coming sometime next year or next season, we discuss your feedback as well as our guesses on who the character from The Walking Dead is that’s joining our survivors on this show, or so the vast majority of us think the direction of this crossover will go, anyway. After two stellar weeks in a row, El Matadero left us scratching our heads a bit. There were some definite highlights; Alicia's budding relationship with pick axe wielding, Diana was fun and fresh. However, while logical and completely realistic, Nick's relapse at the bazaar doesn't necessarily feel like compelling TV. Lastly, the episodes reliance on traditional drama tropes brought a particularly underwhelming conclusion to the Daniel/Ofelia reunion arc. Strand is up to no good, which can only lead to death. We are looking forward to the season finale. Send us your feedback- dead@theverdictsin.com and we will discuss it on the podcast.
