Today's bonus episode is my sit-down conversation with Carol Roth. Carol describes herself as a “recovering” investment banker. She is the author of, “The War on Small Business,” is the New York Times bestselling author of, “The Entrepreneur Equation," and her latest book is called, “You Will Own Nothing.” She has worked in a variety of capacities across industries, including currently as an outsourced CCO, as a director on public and private company boards and as a strategic advisor. She advocates for small business, small government and big hair. Having heard Carol on my buddy Dennis Kneale's show, “What's Bugging Me,” and numerous times on The Glenn Beck Program, it was a thrill to be able to chat with her about how she first got into investment banking. We then roll right into the fiscal turmoil happening in our nation. We cover several topics in a conversational way, from knowing our government is intentionally lying to us about the economic numbers, to the BRICS movement and how best to prepare for when the economy goes sideways. We also get into the health of the banking sector, will ESG and DEI start to go away as companies continue to lose money and some of the staggering information from the latest jobs numbers. We then close the conversation with a discussion about her latest book, “You Will Own Nothing.” The book is not advocating for you to own nothing, but a sardonic take on how to stop the World Economic Forum from making that a reality. It's a warning that if we continue to ignore this issue, we may suddenly find ourselves truly owning nothing. Her book is meant to show how we got to this point and then how we can push back to make sure we never allow that to happen. I hope you enjoy the conversation with Carol and will consider getting her book and then making your own plans for the coming economic plight that seems unavoidable at this point. You can also follow Carol on Facebook and X. Take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. On today's show, Marc speaks with financial guru Carol Roth about her new book, YOU WILL OWN NOTHING, and takes a peek behind the curtain of the Great Reset. Carol talks about how the World Economic Forum (WEF) and corporate government collusion are taking away private property rights and agricultural land and are moving towards a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) Also, Marc talks about his appearance on Fox and Friends this week about a new push in France to limit everyone to 4 airline flights per person, per lifetime. A new poll shows 40% to 60% of the French public support such restrictions. Marc talks about how climate lockdowns are here and now and are not some theoretical future events. France is already banning flights under 2 1/2 hours to save the climate, and the EU is considering similar bans of even longer duration. Marc also talks about Pope Francis denigrating the United States and shaming us for having oversized carbon footprints, while praising China for being more climate-friendly. Marc also talks about his hour-long appearance on the Alex Jones show this week. Also, Marc disseminates the new Biden administration Treasury Department report that claims climate change will cause financial havoc on everything, from energy prices to inflation to supply chain to economic growth, yet the report has it completely backwards, as it is the Biden Administration's climate and energy policies that have created all of those things -- not climate change! Thus, minimum wage laws disemploy the poorest and least productive members of the population. Government privileges to trade unions enable them to keep the poorer and minority-group workers from productive and high-wage employment. And licensing laws, the outlawing of gambling, and other government restrictions prevent the poor from starting small businesses and creating jobs on their own. Murray N. Chase Geiser is joined by Carol Roth. Carol Roth is a “recovering” investment banker, entrepreneur, TV pundit and host, and New York Times bestselling author of The Entrepreneur Equation. She has worked in a variety of capacities across industries, including currently as an outsourced CCO, as a director on public and private company boards, and as a strategic advisor. She advocates for small business, small government, and big hair. Her Book, "The War On Small Business" For years, government bureaucrats have been looking for ways to destroy small businesses. With coronavirus, they finally had their chance. In 2020, the American economy suffered the biggest financial collapse in history. But while Main Street suffered like never before, the stock market continued to reach new highs. How could this be? The answer is that government had slapped oppressive restrictions on small businesses while propping up Wall Street and engineering a historic consolidation of power and wealth. This isn't a new problem. During the last financial crisis, Washington bailed out large banks, saying they were “too big to fail.” When the federal government finally pushed out the CARES Act in 2020, it clearly favored the wealthy and well-connected, showing that small businesses were too small to matter. People across the political spectrum constantly complain about the tyranny of big business, and they're not wrong. However, too many think government is the solution. In reality, government is the problem. In The War on Small Business, entrepreneur Carol Roth unveils the many abuses of power inflicted on small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Small business owners were thrown in jail for trying to make a living. Individual rights were discarded. Big government did what it does best—intentionally protect the rich and powerful. And if Americans don't wake up and stop it, politicians will continue to produce policies that intensify their war on small business and all that stands in the way of centralized power and control. She and Bridget cover the effect of the pandemic on small businesses and what that means for our economy, what happens when you have such a consolidation of power, the nationalization of school debt, our economic relationship with China, inequality by government mandate, how the regulation on businesses is killing savers and retirees, when people are punished for being poor, and why the only people who have ever gotten rich off the government dole are politicians. Carol explains why good intentions don't always lead to good outcomes, why the legal system might be our saving grace, the interconnectedness within our systems, and that if you want to continue enjoying your freedoms, then it's your responsibility to protect them.

Carol Roth joins Tim to talk about a wide range of things, most notably how to use humor to make a point. Carol is a 2020 version of a renaissance woman, a national media personality, a former investment banker, a New York Times best-selling author, and now an investor, business advisor and entrepreneur. We talk with Carol about her career and the niche she has carved for herself providing tough love on business, entrepreneurship and how she leverages the power of humor to make a point. https://traffic.libsyn.com/shapingopinion/Using_Humor_to_Make_a_Point_auphonic.mp3 Carol Roth describes herself as a recovering investment banker and billion-dollar deal maker, and that's just the beginning. She's a national media personality, a business advisor, a company director, investor, sought after speaker and the author of the New York Times bestseller, “The Entrepreneur Equation.” She was a judge on the Mark Burnett TBS network series called “America's Greatest Makers.” Think of it as a “Shark Tank” for technology ideas. She's been the host of Microsoft's Office Small Business Academy, and makes frequent appearances on Fox Business Network's Bulls & Bears, CNBC and many other network news programs. She has a popular blog and is the host of a podcast called “The Roth Effect.” And, of course, she's what you might consider a social media influencer, with a legion of followers on Twitter and a big presence on other platforms. But as I mentioned, if Carol has a super power, it's probably her ability to drive a point home with a sense of humor that's edgy and contains no small amount of truth. Writing, Books, Business, Entrepreneurship, Success   Summary   Regardless of your business, it must be approached as just that … a business. We'll look at that in our Thought of the Day. And in our interview segment, John David Mann is back with us, and he'll take that thought and compare it with the business of writing. That and more on today's show.   Bob's Thought of the Day   We'll explore:   A very important lesson from Michael Gerber, creator of the E-Myth books and programs: Having a successful business involves significantly more than just being good at the product or service aspect of it. Why my friend Carol Roth, in her book The Entrepreneur Equation, encourages readers to question whether or not entrepreneurship and doing the “business part of the business” is for them. The value of approaching every business, charity, or even a specific project with a business mindset.   Interview with John David Mann   You'll discover:   John's experience in the book business and how it relates to entrepreneurship. Why every book is two things: the book itself, as well as a business. Why John considers most of his books to be successes as books, but failures as businesses. How getting 45 rejections from publishers led John into becoming a publisher. The story behind John's new book (co-written with Chef Charles Carroll), The Recipe. Click to Tweet   A successful #book project is no different, in principle, from any other successful project. #business Part of the path of an entrepreneur is knowing ahead of time that you're going to have to launch some ships that sink. @johndavidmann You can't let your ego keep you from listening and making adjustments. #success #writing   Interview Links   JohnDavidMann.com John's BlogThe Recipe: A Story of Loss, Love, and the Ingredients of Greatness by Chef Charles Carroll and John David Mann John's previous appearance on Ep. 69 of The Go-Giver Podcast Follow John on Twitter Connect with John on Facebook Connect with John on LinkedIn Resources   The E-Myth Revisited by Michael GerberThe Entrepreneur Equation by Carol RothSell The Go-Giver Way Webinar GoGiverSalesAcademy.com The Go-Giver Leader TheGoGiver.com GoGiverSpeaker.com Burg.com How to Post a Review
