Listen to these two tracks of booster content just for ambitious small business leaders. Today on Track 1, I'd like to share with you how to win the battle between short-term satisfaction and long-term goals, excerpted from my friend Barry Moltz's terrific book, Change Masters. This is Track 2, where I want you to offer you an insight into my own change process. Track 1 385: Start by cultivating a change culture with guest expert Barry Moltz These distinctions can help you get out of a stuck state with your own work or they might be useful when meeting with a direct report or colleague. Promotion vs. PreventionAutonomy vs. NonatutonomyMastery vs. PerformanceWhat we want to do vs. What we are supposed to do Track 2 I want you to offer you an insight into my own change process. The most common obstacle to change occurs when I don't make a clear commitment. Commitments are decisions, and decisions have consequences. The next most common hurdle to my own personal change is when I neglect to connect my why.The third biggest obstacle to change is when I fail to set my environment up for success. That might include a daily tracking system, adding reminders on my iPhone calendar, or making sure I have the resources needed to make the change easy and automatic, as James Clear, author of Atomic Habits, instructs. Visit AskBillRingle.com and book a call if I can be of help in getting you on track with your commitments.

We have three segments in this week's episode: Small Business Change Masters with Barry Moltz Inclusion-Forward Story - Brandelyn Green  Highlights from the Fed's Small Business Credit Survey SEGMENT 1 In this talk we explore change, coming up with a plan and following through with Barry Moltz (@barrymoltz).  Barry gets business owners unstuck. He's a nationally recognized expert on small business, he's given hundreds of presentations to audiences ranging in size from 20 to 20,000, appearing on many TV and radio programs. Barry speaks from experience, founding and running many small businesses with a great deal of success and failure for more than 20 years. His first book, “You Need to Be A Little Crazy: The Truth about Starting and Growing Your Business” describes the ups and downs and emotional trials of running a business. In his seventh book “Change Masters” Barry explores follow-through, and why so many small business owners pay for expensive advice, agree to take action ... and then never follow through. SEGMENT 2 Brandelyn Green - Turning health adversity into triumph For our Inclusion-Forward segment this week we focus on the power of community to grow a successful small business. From the onset of her business, Brandelyn Green (@voiceofhair) understood the value a strong community could bring. Her company, Voice of Hair helps women of color find the best hairstylists, hair products and hair extensions through a portfolio of pictures, videos and reviews. But it was a personal health crisis that spawned the idea for her thriving line of hair care products which she sells on voiceofhaircare.com. She also cultivates a thriving community on her instagram channel.   SEGMENT 3   Emily Wavering Corcoran - Program Manager The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland We taped our  interview on Friday, March 4th, 2022, ahead of the Federal Open Market Committee meeting. In November of last year, The Federal Reserve Banks conducted the Small Business Credit Survey. In all they surveyed nearly 11,000 small businesses to ask them about their financial condition, whether they had sought financing in the prior 12 months and what effect the pandemic had on their business. The results of that survey have just been published in the 2022 Report On Employer Firms. We spoke with the Fed's Program Manager, Emily Wavering Corcoran. She works in the Community Development Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.  She touched on some of the most interesting highlights in the latest survey results.  FOLLOW US: Twitter Instagram LinkedIn

Too many times in business, people have enough success where they can pay themselves, but they haven't had enough success, really, for their business to be exactly where they dreamed of it when they actually started this journey.” 02:20 - Problem Barry helps solve: “Well, I work with people to actually make a change, and making a change is incredibly difficult. You know, the reason I wrote this next book was because we brought in a consultant.” 03:42 - Typical symptoms that clients do before reaching out to Barry: “Well, first of all, what I want to give people to make the change is not a change that they think they need, or someone else has told them they have to make a change, but a change they already need- they know they need to make.” 04:45 - Common mistakes that people make before they find Barry's solution: “Well, the biggest hurdles are they say it's too difficult or they actually try it a little bit and they say, " Ah! I tried it. I told you it wasn't going to work anyway, so let me go back to the way it was." 05:59 - Barry's Valuable Free Action (VFA): “Start small.
