Send us a Message! (But we can't respond, so feel free to email us at info@roman3.ca)This episode touches on the theme of Strengthening Culture. In this episode, we explore the difficult reality that a lot of organizations face when the person in charge is the wrong fit for what the organization needs. We dig into the Business Law of the Linchpin and how we can sever the dependence we unintentionally create on our leaders. Our prescription for this episode is to understand the root cause of why we end up with bad leaders, and that there are solutions and steps we can take to address it. Ideally, we can do that before we end up in the situation to begin with.Past Episode Referenced:S2 E21: What Is The Technical Founder Paradox?S3 E7: Are We Sheltering Toxic Leaders?S3 E19: Are You At Risk From The Business Law Of The Linchpin?S4 E17: Is Comfort Making Us More Productive or More Complacent? To talk more about management training, reach out to us at info@roman3.ca or through our LinkedIn page at https://www.linkedin.com/company/roman3Don't forget to sign up for our New Quarterly Newsletter that launched in the fall of 2024!About Our Hosts!James is an experienced business coach with a specialization in HR management and talent attraction and retention. Coby is a skilled educator and has an extensive background in building workforce and organizational capacity. For a little more on our ideas and concepts, check out our Knowledge Suite or our YouTube Channel, Solutions Explained by Roman 3.

The return of "What About?" Wednesdays! Text us your questions for apologist and pastor Robby Lashua!Today:Arizona's Grand Canyon is considered the "Eighth Wonder of the World".  Epic is scale, it is difficult for most to imagine what momentous force produced this colossal, natural beauty."Most" does not include Biblical creationist Russ Miller.Miller describes the Grand Canyon as a "scar of God's judgment", a remnant of a universal deluge that overwhelmed the Earth during the time of Noah.  He points to Psalm 46:8: "Come behold the works of the Lord, what desolations He has made in the Earth.", and explains there is much, much more to the geology of the American southwest than we had been led to believe...Background:In the summer of 2016, the annual Crusaders Charge into Summer Reading campaign introduced us to Russ Miller, a storied and established Biblical creationist who lives, believe it or not, off-the-grid in a crater in northern Arizona.  If that were not crazy enough, during that summer, Miller introduced us to his book, "The Cost", and he made two audacious claims.First, Russ Miller claimed that the universe and all of creation was established by God in six 24-hour days, less than 10,000 years ago.  He claimed he had scientific and scriptural evidence to back up his claims.Second, Miller claimed that if our nation continued to deny God the creator and the concept of "Imago Dei" -- that we are created in the image and likeness of God, on purpose, and for a purpose -- our culture would go into a freefall, losing all concept of right and wrong, falling into chaos and disorder. Now, ten years later, Russ Miller is back and his warnings and worries have exploded into reality.  Our country and our culture are mired in confusion about truth, gender, marriage, race, identity, spirituality, and more.We are paying what Miller called "The Cost" of losing track of who we are and whose we are. This summer, we're going deep into creationism.  We are going to spend time with audacious individuals who believe in Young Earth, Old Earth, Theistic Evolution, Geocentricity, and, yes, a Flat Earth.  Our journey will be anchored in God's word as we enjoy some pretty amazing conversations. But, at the end of the day, diverse positions aside, every moment and every word of the KingdomCultureConversations.com episodes that we will hear this summer (between May 11th and September 28th) will be rooted in one truth:  You were created on purpose and for a purpose. To learn more about Russ Miller and his organization, "Creation and Evolution Science Ministries", please follow this link.To get a copy of "Consider the Cost", you can pick up a free copy of the book in the three offices of Northwest Christian School in Phoenix, Arizona or you can order a copy by clicking here. Hey, friend. I'm pulling an amazing episode from the archives with over 430 episodes here on the Proof to Product podcast. There is a gold mine of information for you to help you grow your business, and, frankly, it can be hard to take it all in. Today's episode is a look back at an interview I did with Seth Godin who needs no introduction, but it would be a complete disservice to not share all of his accolades.  He's an author, entrepreneur, and most of all, a teacher.  In addition to launching one of the most popular blogs in the world, he has written 22 best-selling books, including The Dip, Linchpin, Purple Cow, Tribes, and This is Marketing, which was an instant bestseller in countries around the world.  His latest book, This is Strategy: Make Better Plans offers readers a practical framework for what an effective strategy looks like and feels like in today's fast-moving chaotic, and diverse world. This strategy allows readers to zoom out and see the bigger picture and understand the systems that are shaping their lives at work, in business, and day-to-day challenges.  Seth contends that by recognizing and mastering these systems and prioritizing long-term thinking over instant gratification, we can make smart, purposeful choices today that will lead to long-term growth. In my conversation with Seth, he shares his motivation for writing this book, the four elements that are critical for an effective strategy, and the importance of identifying and connecting with our smallest viable audience. On a personal note, when I started my product business in 2008, Seth's work was a major catalyst in helping me gain marketing momentum. He has a no-nonsense approach. He's concise and clear with his thoughts, and that resonates and gets your wheels turning, which you will hear in today's episode. Today's episode is brought to you by our Proof to Product LABS coaching program. This is a coaching program specifically built for product-based business owners, with members from across industries and across the globe. Fix the Foundation Before You Scale: Ryan Caracciolo on the Business Growth Flywheel, Marketing Systems, and Sustainable RevenueIn this episode of Uncomplicated, I sit down with Ryan Caracciolo, Founder & CEO of StriVenta and creator of the Business Growth Flywheel, to unpack why so many businesses stall not because they lack marketing tactics, but because their foundation can't support growth. With over a decade of experience helping small, mid-sized, and enterprise businesses align marketing, sales, and retention systems, Ryan is known for cutting through hype and vanity metrics to focus on what actually moves the revenue needle. From website infrastructure to call tracking to CRM adoption, his work centers on building systems that scale without burning teams out.Ryan is also the creator of Hyperdrive WP, a streamlined website framework designed to eliminate tech debt, improve performance, and give business owners something they actually own without overengineering or bloated subscriptions. This conversation is a must-listen for founders and operators who feel stuck doing “all the right things” but aren't seeing real growth. We cover:Why most businesses try to scale before their foundation is readyThe three non-negotiables for growth: website, call tracking, and a trusted CRMWhy more traffic is often the wrong goal and how less traffic can convert betterThe Business Growth Flywheel and how it creates alignment between marketing, sales, and serviceWhy marketing fails when it's disconnected from sales and customer experienceHow poor CRM adoption quietly kills momentum (and what realistic timelines look like)The hidden cost of tech debt and overbuilt websitesHyperdrive WP and how to ship fast without sacrificing qualityWhy clarity beats cleverness in messaging for both users and GoogleHow consistency, not shiny tactics, separates businesses that scale from those that stallKey Takeaways:Growth doesn't come from more tactics, it comes from better systems.Marketing should support the entire business, not just look good.Quality leads beat high volume every time.CRMs fail when teams aren't aligned, trained, or bought in.Sustainable growth is built methodically, not rushed to market. This is a grounded, tactical episode for founders, business owners, and leaders who want to simplify growth, build trust across teams, and scale without chaos.

It's about becoming the trusted sales advisor your buyers can't imagine doing business without. It's about evolving from vendor to linchpin—the person who holds everything together. What Does It Mean to Be a Linchpin? A linchpin is the small pin that holds a wheel on its axle. Remove it, and everything falls apart. In sales, being a linchpin means you're more than someone who takes orders or delivers quotes. You're the trusted sales advisor buyers turn to for guidance, validation, and expertise. They don't just buy from you; they believe in you. They want your opinion. They rely on your consistency. And when things get messy, they know you'll help them make sense of it all. But most salespeople never reach linchpin status. They stay stuck in the vendor zone: quoting, pitching, following up, moving on. It's safe. It hits metrics. But safety doesn't create loyalty. Why Most Sellers Stay Vendors The vendor zone is comfortable. You know what to do. You have a process. You check boxes. But here's the problem: your prospect can feel when you're focused on yourself instead of them. They know when you're running through a script or waiting to launch into your pitch. And that feeling—that sense of being just another number—kills trust before it ever has a chance to grow. Being a trusted sales advisor requires something different. It requires you to slow down, tune in, and genuinely care about the person across from you. That's where the magic happens. Build Emotional Connection Through Reading the Room The best salespeople don't take behavior at face value. They interpret it. When a buyer seems distracted or cold, linchpin sellers pause and ask themselves: What's really happening here? Is this person overwhelmed? Skeptical because of a bad past experience? Or just thinking deeply because they need time to process? Here's how to sharpen your ability to read buyer emotions: Match and mirror. Notice their pace, tone, and energy, then subtly align with it. People feel safer with people who move at a similar rhythm. Say what you're thinking. Use your inside voice as your outside voice. Try: "It sounds like this project has a lot of pressure behind it" or "You seem hesitant—can I ask what's causing that?" Naming emotions and behaviors politely opens doors. Embrace the silence. Silence doesn't mean rejection. It means your buyer is thinking, absorbing, processing. This is where most salespeople blow it. They open their mouths too soon because they can't handle the quiet. Five extra minutes of patience is often what stands between winning and losing a deal. Reading people is empathy in motion. But it takes work. And most salespeople don't take the time. Lead With Curiosity Curiosity is the trait that rarely gets enough attention in sales training. But when you're genuinely curious about what makes your buyers tick—what drives their decisions, what matters most to them, what keeps them up at night—you move past small talk and into real conversations. When you show up to serve instead of showing up to sell, curiosity becomes natural. You ask questions to understand what your customers actually need. You build solutions together. And that's the moment you become essential to solving their problems. Here's how to leverage curiosity as a trusted sales advisor: Ask one more question. When your buyer answers, don't jump into your pitch. Say, "Tell me more about that" or "What else is behind that concern?" That extra question is where the truth often lives. Replace judgment with wonder. When a prospect makes an odd request, don't think "That's ridiculous." Think "I wonder what's driving that?" That mindset shift changes your energy completely—and they can feel it. Prep curiosity prompts before each meeting. Write down three open-ended questions that start with "how" or "what." Questions like "How will this impact your team's workload?" or "What happens if nothing changes?" uncover real motivation. The phrase "I'm so curious about..." has become a game-changer in discovery calls. It opens doors to deeper conversations. Most buyers will jump right in, and the conversation flows naturally. Your job is to listen, take notes, and get even more curious as they open up. Evolve Into an Indispensable Consultant Most salespeople understand the concept of being consultative: asking questions, offering insights, guiding decisions. But the best take it further. They become so valuable that their clients' success feels harder to imagine without them. When you become indispensable, things don't function properly without you. People need you, not just want you. You bring unique value that can't easily be replaced, because nobody is you. Here's how to go beyond helpful and become essential: Diagnose before you recommend. Don't rush to fix. Take time to fully understand the client's situation. Ask deeper questions. Look for patterns. Confirm what really matters before offering solutions. You'll gain trust faster through understanding than urgency. Teach through insight. Help your clients see their business from a new angle. Bring context, data, or perspective they haven't considered. When they walk away from a meeting thinking differently because of you, you're no longer just a vendor—you're a resource. Lead with consistency and integrity. Show up when it's easy, but also show up when it's not. Be steady, dependable, and transparent, especially when outcomes are uncertain. Indispensable consultants don't disappear when things get complicated. They stay close, communicate clearly, and make it easier for clients to move forward with confidence. When you understand deeply, teach clearly, and lead consistently, you become more than a salesperson. You become part of your clients' strategy. You become the trusted sales advisor they call first. People Buy You First Being a linchpin isn't about what you sell. It's about how you show up for the buyer. When markets shift or leadership changes, your product might change—but your presence shouldn't. People will always buy you first. Show up curious. Listen for meaning, not just for answers. Teach what you know. Stay steady when others panic. This approach moves you from being one of many to being the one they call first. That's how you go from vendor to linchpin. Today the Independent Media Alliance (IMA) brings you a panel discussing digital ID, its differing definitions, and how it's one of the most important elements of the control grid agenda. We discuss why digital ID is so important to this agenda, the global nature of the digital ID roll out, and what we can do to stop it from coming to pass. We also discuss the role that mainstream alternative media is playing in this execution, the varying lines in the sand we are drawing, and why it's important that we each find and define what that line is for ourselves, before the choice is looming over us.
