Mom Life is hard and when we are trying to not only figure out this new season , sometimes it gets lonely and sometimes it feels like we're in it alone. Here's the thing , the one area most moms push aside is Friendships. It's the easiest one to push to the side and not even think that it could affect us that much. So many moms I come across feel alone, no one understands, or they struggle with the emotions that come with the mom territory and it can be SOOO much! But you see even in the Bible it says that we need each other and friendships are an area we can't put on the back burner because it might be the one thing we actually NEED! Let's check out some amazing Bible versus and talk about how prioritizing friendships will help us find more balance in our day to day !
Can you believe it? We're not just celebrating any episode today; it's our 200th!
Bringing emotional health to the forefront, emotions play a huge role in shaping our decisions, leading to the course our lives take. As stated in biblical texts, the heart, centers human emotions. This aligns with modern science that show decisions are never made empty of emotions. Unchecked emotions can lead to impulsive decisions, such as when we admit to making purchases emotionally, leading to potential regrets.Emotions can drive choices related to health, job, relationships, and religious practices, which may not benefit someone's long-term well-being. Overcoming these hurdles requires acknowledging the power of emotions and creating strategies to prevent their power in life's journey.Like, subscribe, and leave us a comment.Support what Sandals Church is doing at http://donate.sc or use the Sandals Church App https://sandalschurch.com/app/Do you have questions, need prayer or want to get connected? In this episode, I talk about how hard it is to be in friendships and relationships right now, in my life, and I know in many many others. Something that I'm always circling back to as when people deny my emotions and how badly it hurts me. I realize that the only real thing out there is feelings and emotions whether it's yours or somebody else's and you cannot deny that about you or them, I'm not perfect nobody is.

INTRO International Parenting Coach and Media Expert, Jane Evans, famously known for going head-to-head live on Good Morning Britain TV with an irate Piers Morgan! Credits her son, the children, young people, parents, and carers she's worked with and cared for, as being her greatest teachers. They have consistently shown and taught her the realities of how lives are profoundly shaped by early childhood experiences. CONTENT Jane starts by sharing how she previously worked with young people and adults with complex needs and traumas and that led her to be more curious about how our brains and bodies work. And the resulting How to Tend and Tame your Meerkat, which you can find on YouTube. Which is a very easy way of explaining our Nervous System. Jane goes on to say that we aren't taught as children how to express our emotions safely and in turn can't teach our children either. So, the emotions get locked away, leaving us incapable expressing those emotions in a healthy way when they arise. Or leading to mental health problems. BIO Jane's huge curiosity about the why behind children and adults struggles with anxiety and low self-worth. This has led her to study a wide range of cutting-edge body and brain-based science. And to create four children's books so that parents, carers, and professionals have essential resources to use with the children. Jane brings her knowledge, her professional and life experience into her roles as a renowned TV and Radio Expert, author of four children's' books, her TED Talk, and international Coaching and speaking. As a co-creator of the highly effective Healing Together Programme in partnership with the ground-breaking Innovating Minds. Jane regularly trains those working directly with children to offer a trauma-sensitive programme with resources to support children impacted by domestic violence, anxiety, and overwhelming feelings of anger. Jane makes the why behind children and adult's behaviours, simple to grasp. And provides solid, practical solutions so everyone has the opportunity to live well, beyond their anxiety and other limiting beliefs and behaviours. Nobody lives a perfect life You've had both good days and bad days in your life. Like it or not, life has had its ups and downs. Nobody ever experiences just one emotion or feeling. And that's a good thing. Why? Because you need to experience it all. That's part of living life. Life is made up of many a paradox and uncountable extremes. But most of life occurs somewhere between any given extremes. Change is a constant inconstant You have experienced change in one form or another all your life. If you're no longer a child, you've changed your body shape, size, hairiness, and more as you aged. What thrilled and motivated you when you were 10 has likely changed – or at least changed in perspective. Change has been with you and a part of you and your life all the time. Change is the one and only constant in the Universe. It is always happening and can't be stopped. You can choose how it impacts you. Sometimes you can shift it, alter it, avoid it to a degree, and even change it again. This is where the Buddhist ideal of impermanence is super helpful. Feelings and emotions are in your control This is another place where toxic positivity gets it all wrong. The implication that you can ignore, disregard, and put on blinders to all other feelings and emotions in favor of positivity is disingenuous. Things happen that cause a visceral emotional reaction and/or feeling in you that, when it occurs, just is. And it's different for everyone. That's because the what of a feeling is different from the how. The what is the label and the how is the presentation. Mostly, the what is the feeling while the how is the emotion. Life is in constant motion One of my favorite quotes from Yoda says, “Always in motion is the future.” No matter what you plan – you have no control over what might occur. Random happenstance might utterly shock and surprise you. The feelings and emotions in that moment just are. And they occurred as part of life's constant state of motion. While you can choose your feelings and emotions, it's only possible at this moment, in the here and now. Recognizing and acknowledging the constant state of flux of feelings and emotions empowers you to use mindfulness for control in the present moment. This week's Applied Guidance for Mindfulness Tool: Here's how to know what you're thinking and what and how you're feeling, right here and now. You need to set aside 5 minutes. Place yourself somewhere comfortable where you'll be uninterrupted and undistracted. Set a timer for 2 minutes. Start the time. Take as deep a breath in as you can. Hold it for a silent 2 count, then exhale. Repeat until the timer goes off. Ask yourself this question: · What am I thinking? Think about it. Then write it down. Now, ask yourself this question: · What am I feeling? Think about it. Then write it down. Finally, ask yourself this question: · How am I feeling? Think about it. Then write it down. Look over what you've written. You are aware of your thoughts and feelings in this moment. This moment is the only moment you can truly, genuinely be self-aware. What has this taught you? In our Framework of being a human series, we are now on to the topic of feelings and emotions. Often used interchangeably, they are actually two different things. If you want to have more awareness for your mental health, to be able to understand yourself better and use what you know to have better relationships with others, understanding emotions and feelings is a good place to start. When you can observe, identify feelings, and ascribe healthy meaning, you can reduce anxiety, anger, fear, and other uncomfortable feelings by effectively sharing them with others and acknowledging them in yourself for better self-care and self-management.

Were you aware of any strong feelings or emotions this week? We are about to start a series of shortcast on the theme of feeling and emotion, and today I thought to explore why I have come to this. I realised that I could go a whole week and not be aware of my emotions. Now the reality is I have them, but they are being experienced without my awareness. There is every possibility that I am reacting to these triggered emotions and may be acting inappropriately, given the situation. I got onto this thinking train because I had an emotional response to a piece of music on a playlist. We live in a world designed to trigger our emotions. We are being pushed to react our feelings are a big part of our lives, and yet we give them so little thought. Join me in this short exploration of why it is vital that we become aware of our thoughts and feelings. And yes, there is a little bit of homework if you want it. As Juergen got older, his sleep began to change. Although this is normal, Juergen didn't know that at the time! And, just as he began to pay more attention to sleep, COVID hit, work stress increased, and all the places he used to enjoy going to got shut down. Juergen felt as though insomnia and all the difficult thoughts and feelings that come with it were starting to control his life. He felt as though he was losing himself and getting pulled away from the kind of life he wanted to live. This was when we started working together. Ultimately, Juergen became more willing to experience nighttime wakefulness. He became more accepting of the difficult thoughts and feelings that would show up. Juergen discovered that as long as he didn't try to battle with all the stuff that was out of his control he could free up all that energy to do things that would help him live the kind of life he wanted to live instead. The skills Juergen learned and repeatedly practiced also helped when tinnitus returned after a long absence. As a result, all the difficult stuff that is out of his control now has far less of an influence over his life — and he is also sleeping a lot better!
Emotions are the commanders of our actions as well as the cause behind mental issues. Resentment is especially intriguing because of its secretive quality, its connection to violent acts and trauma, and its large role in interpersonal relationships.
