Some of my clearest thoughts happen when I'm driving—just me, the road, and no distractions. I've had some of my most eye-opening conversations in the car, even personal breakthroughs on things I've been struggling with. So, I've decided to hit record and bring these moments to you. Lately, I've realized that I haven't been giving 100%—not to my business, not to myself. I say I am, but deep down, I know there's more I could be doing to grow and improve.Maybe you feel the same. Maybe there's something in your life that deserves more of your effort. It's time to look inward and push ourselves to be better. Let's talk about it.

Lord Tortemus has proposed sending Tatters, along with his two bodyguards, the Vale sisters, on a mission to retrieve the Ring of Winter from the leader of the machine cult. Describe the mission parameters, including the keywords Mysterious Vehicle. Mission Parameters: Quest for the Ring of Winter Objective: Retrieve the legendary Ring of Winter from the leader of the machine cult. Team: Tatters - The cunning and resourceful protagonist. The Vale Sisters - Tatters' loyal and formidable bodyguards, known for their combat prowess and tactical acumen. Mission Overview: Lord Tortemus has identified the leader of the machine cult as the current possessor of the Ring of Winter. This ancient artifact possesses immense power over ice and cold, making it a critical asset in the ongoing conflict. The cult has fortified itself within Hammerhold, the city's greatest forge and arsenal, located in the heart of Chaintop. Primary Objectives: Infiltrate the Stronghold: Gain access to the machine cult's heavily guarded fortress. Locate the Ring of Winter: Identify the exact location of the Ring within the stronghold. Retrieve the Artifact: Secure the Ring and ensure its safe return to Lord Tortemus. Secondary Objectives: Gather Intel: Collect valuable information on the machine cult's operations and technology. Neutralize Key Threats: Disable or eliminate high-ranking cult members and their mechanical constructs. Mysterious Vehicle: Investigate the rumored Mysterious Vehicle that the cult uses for transportation and potential escape. Operational Details: Transport: The team will travel via a swift magitech skimmer provided by Lord Tortemus, designed for stealth and speed. Entry Point: Utilize an old drainage tunnel as the entry point to bypass the main defenses. Reconnaissance: Deploy mini-drones for surveillance and mapping of the fortress interior. Engagement: The Vale sisters will handle combat encounters while Tatters focuses on securing the Ring. Extraction: Once the Ring is in their possession, exfiltrate using the Mysterious Vehicle if possible, or fall back to the skimmer for a swift retreat. Potential Hazards: Mechanical Sentinels: The stronghold is patrolled by advanced automata designed to detect and neutralize intruders. Environmental Extremes: The presence of the Ring has caused unnatural cold within the fortress, creating hazardous conditions. Cult Defenders: Devoted and fanatical cultists, equipped with magitech weaponry, will fiercely defend their leader and the Ring. Mission Success Criteria: Successful retrieval of the Ring of Winter. Safe return of Tatters and the Vale sisters. Acquisition of valuable intelligence on the machine cult. Failure Conditions: Loss of the Ring to enemy forces. Capture or incapacitation of team members. Incomplete mission objectives due to unanticipated threats. Mission Commences: 18:00 hours, local time. Genre: magitech. Describe an automated factory stronghold, at the heart of the industrial Chaintop area of Kyras, capital city of the Kyras Dominion. The air in Chaintop hummed with a low, insistent thrum. Gears ground, pistons hissed, and the glow of arcane forges cast long, dancing shadows across cobbled streets. At the heart of this industrial behemoth stood the Bastion of Gears, a fortress unlike any other. Appearance: Exterior: Hammerhold was a brutalist masterpiece, a symphony of iron and obsidian. Massive, interlocking gears formed the very walls, their teeth catching the light in a mesmerizing display. Arcane sigils, etched in shimmering gold, pulsed with an eerie light, warding off unwanted attention. Interior: A labyrinth of corridors, each a testament to magitech ingenuity. Production Halls: Gargantuan machines, powered by a combination of steam and arcane energy, churned out weapons, armor, and intricate gears. Dwarven engineers, their faces grim with concentration, monitored the intricate dance of pistons and pulleys. Assembly Lines: Goblins, their nimble fingers a blur of motion, assembled intricate magitech contraptions. From miniature clockwork automatons to devastating siege engines, each piece was crafted with meticulous care. Forges: Arcane forges, fueled by rare crystals, roared to life, casting a blinding light. Dwarven smiths, their bodies glowing with an otherworldly aura, hammered and shaped molten metal into weapons of terrifying beauty and power. Defenses: Arcane Shields: An invisible, shimmering barrier enveloped the bastion, deflecting projectiles and absorbing minor magical attacks. Auto-Cannon Turrets: Ironclad turrets, bristling with arcane-powered cannons, rotated menacingly, ready to unleash a barrage of fire upon any intruders. Clockwork Golems: Massive, iron golems, their movements fluid and deadly, patrolled the perimeter, their eyes glowing with malevolent intelligence. The Heart of Hammerhold: Deep within the fortress, in a chamber shielded by a dozen layers of arcane wards, resided the Engine of Creation, a masterpiece of magitech engineering. This colossal machine, powered by a captured celestial spirit, was the heart of Hammerhold, providing the raw energy that fueled the entire operation. Life Within Hammerhold: Hammerhold was a world unto itself. Dwarves, goblins, and humans, all bound by contracts of servitude, lived and worked within its walls. They were well-fed and well-compensated, but their lives were strictly regimented, their every move monitored by an intricate network of surveillance. Dissent was not tolerated. Hammerhold was a symbol of the Kyras Dominion's industrial might, its arsenal, a testament to the power of magitech. It was a fortress impregnable, a factory unmatched, and a constant reminder of the Dominion's unwavering pursuit of power. Friends, it's 2024 and I can't even believe it! I'm actually recording this at the end of 2023 and Rob and I just came back from an amazing trip to Costa Rica. His 50th birthday trip! On one of the last days of our trip, I had an experience that was pretty profound for me. After that, Rob looked at me and said I had to do a podcast episode about it. At the time I didn't think it had anything to do with the podcast but he insisted there were so many parallels. As I thought about it, I realized he was right. So here we are in 2024 and I'm going to tell you about my experience in Costa Rica and how it led to this episode about facing fears and being bold in conquering those fears. Are you ready? I'm excited to share, so let's go!The story is about a diving platform on a two-storey catamaran that Rob and I went on. I wanted so badly to jump off that 15 ft high platform into the gorgeous water but fear kept me from doing it. I'm afraid of heights and I would just get paralyzed when I stood on the platform. I couldn't do it. But when we sat down for lunch it was nagging at me that I hadn't jumped and I just realized I needed to do it. So I handed my food to Rob, marched over to that platform, and jumped. And friends, the exhilaration of that jump! I felt so powerful. It was so much fun but also I had conquered a profound fear by facing it. The parallel is in our health journeys. I had started intuitive eating before I recently made the shift for good but didn't approach it right and gave up. I was afraid of giving up the control that diets seemed to give me. This time, though, I faced that fear and approached intuitive eating with my desire for health. I conquered that fear. This episode is all about conquering fears, facing our fear of letting go, facing our own judgement and paralysis. What are you afraid of? How are you going to jump off the boat this year? I want to encourage you to find and face that fear, and then write to me about how you did it and how you feel. Welcome to 2024 and jumping off the boats! On this podcast episode, Jordan Criss returns for a long-overdue discussion on Life and Fulfillment. We start the conversation with the idea that most people are actively disengaged with what they spend most of their time. From there, we cover imposter syndrome, healthy habits, procrastination, and focusing on what matters most to you regardless of the current outcome. Life is about playing a long game. Toward the end of the conversation, I was reminded of a book called The Road to Character. One of the core messages is to think more deeply about the eulogy virtues than resume virtues since modern life is more focused on the latter. Ultimately, each of us has to figure out what fits best for our life; no matter what, it will be a process. The faster you embrace the process, the less painful it will be. So with that, I pass this off to the listener. What else can we explore if you've encountered the mentioned sources, your experiences, or other related ideas? From his 70's Live Anthem Hit "Boom Boom" (Out Goes The Lights) to his latest single "Push Yourself", Pat Travers has been providing high octane rock for over 5 decades. We speak to Pat in this episode about his amazing career and his great new single and upcoming album.
PAT TRAVERS is one of the most indominable guitar slingers of his generation. An unstoppable force of bold tone, electrifying musicianship, and dynamic performance. No wonder he's been able to persevere through numerous decades of musical fads and trends, staying true to his artform and calling. And now Pat Travers and his band steps forward once again with a blazing new single, “Push Yourself.” Built around Travers' trademark Fender Strat, “Push Yourself” crackles with intensity and bravado. The guitar playing is matched in grittiness and power by Travers' own vocals, which ring out like a wakeup call to anyone thinking that this veteran blues rocker will be resting on his laurels. In addition to the single being available on all digital platforms, it will also be pressed on limited edition RED 7” vinyl backed with another new cut “Full Spectrum” both of which are set to appear on Travers' new studio album coming later this year! Hello. Hello, vitality seekers. This is your host, Caroline Schafer. Please help me welcome Dustin Hughes. Dustin has an incredible story to tell about his triumphs in his health history and what he has overcome. I'm really pleased to have him here today on the vitality feed. Welcome Dustin. I read your story. And by the grace of God, I think you said you're still here and I agree. That's pretty amazing what you've gone through and experienced, and you're still here to talk about it. And I truly hope we can inspire somebody else who may be going through a really hard situation that there is hope and it is doable. I love that. That's very true. Thank you. So my story I haven't shared in a long time, but I originally kind of got over it and decided that it's important for me to share my forward because there's a lot of people out there that, like you said, I think can relate to what I've gone through and, you know, it's important to help others let each other up. Who knows who this can reach. I'm 44. I'm married had a blended family. I'm a detective with a local police department here in Washington. I've been an officer for I'm going on 20 years now. I started out as a reserve and worked my way through a couple of different agencies and came back to the department of. And I've been with them about seven years now. And so I start my, my story of my health. I at about the age of six weeks old I started having ear infections and my parents put me on antibiotics for that. I ended up having about four or five different surgeries on my ears for tubes because of the, my, I was born with little small eustachian tubes. It would collapse and I get your infections and it just was an ongoing problem. So at age two, I was diagnosed with ITP. Basically it's a bleeding disorder. And so that's been something that I have dealt with my whole life. At age six, I had a splenectomy because or my explain wasn't taking, attacking my platelets and became very, very dangerous to the point where my blood wasn't clotting correctly and it was kind of touch and go. So they removed the spleen and my. Yeah, and this was a very six, it was a very experimental surgery. They didn't really know what the long-term results would be. And so they put me on because of that, I ended up going on penicillin for a very long time because my immune system was compromised at that point because it's also works to help support the immune system. I'd see. At age 10, I had. Some massive trauma to my skull so we were at some friend's house for new year's Eve and we were out in the barn playing and a tractor step got, got knocked out of the loft and came down and crashed on my head and crushed my skull. And it was about, I don't know, 25, 30 pound tractor step. And the part that hit me on the head was it was the eye that bolted onto the tractor. So it was a piece of metal sticking out of it, of the gas and that's what actually punctured into my skull. And so I ended up making my way back to the house and I was in shock. I couldn't feel anything. I was just in a daze, long story, short. Having two major brain surgeries, one where they removed a whole bunch of fragments out of my brain and I had to have a transfusion. And that was right when aids was really a big, a big issue. And then they also removed that very giant blood clot that was in. Section of my brain, because it was so polarized from the, from the massive problem of, they just couldn't save it. So what's that about six months later they went back and I had this little pivot in my, in my brain, in my skull. I could stick my finger down inside and create my parents out with right. So they put like a little helmet on me. I had to wear all the time. About six months later, they went back and stitched me up and put it in like a, a plate in my head. And I'm good to go now. So that that was the, the surgeon, the neurosurgeon told me that if it had been in either direction, I would have either been dead or paralyzed. And like, by the grace of God, literally I was the, his angels protected me. I know that. That's a, that's a lot of surgeries for such a young kid. I mean, that's and a lot of different things. You had several did four or totally different things. Ear infections, the blood disorder, spleen, your brain. I mean, those are all different things all by what? 10, 12, that's crazy. I was like one of those kids that. Some parents have those kids that are always accident prone. I was one of them for whatever reason I was, of course I grew up like we were, our favorite song. We moved from Oregon when I was pretty little to Washington and growing up, our theme song was John Denver Blew Up The TV, Throw Away The Paper. That was, that was the song that might be. We loved it because they were, they were like, we're pioneering outta here. We're getting out of this crazy mess. We're going to Washington. We were I'm one of eight kids. And so we were Rugrats. I mean, we were running around all over the countryside and we were homeschooled. And so, oh my goodness. Eight kids homeschooled and all this medical stuff to, yeah. And so dad works that worked the saw mills. He worked all day. He worked at a bunch of different things. Always, always had food on the table. We had a humongous garden killed deer turkeys, whatever it was, the majority of the food on our table was from what we worked for. So let's say that that might've helped you. If, if anything, that might've been a huge benefit to aid you with all this trauma that you've gone through medical. I think that was definitely it's funny. Cause you probably looked at it, but more of a hindrance back then, but now hindsight, it was a definitely a positive, a positive factor for your health. Well, it's funny you mentioned that because I finally come full circle. So growing that was, that was, you know, we were the poor family. We always, we couldn't afford anything and it came out of the garden or the woods. Now at 44 years old, that's what I'm striving to do again, because I understand why it's so important. You get the why yes, exactly. So then after my two brain surgeries, I did construction for quite a while. I was a carpenter before I was in law enforcement. I was on a job and I was pulling on a big, heavy spike galvanized nail and then they all came out of the post and went right into my eyes. It was my right eye and it punctured my eyes completely with my eyeball deflated completely. It was just like a little raisin. Oh, oh heck wow. That's boom. I got rushed down and ended up going to have eye surgery that day. And the doctor did an amazing job. He stitched me back together and I have 2020 vision. I lost a little bit of the color portion of my eye. And so it's a little, it gets a little irritated with light, but. And that, you know what, I, I get my eyes checked regularly and I still have 20/20 vision. That is incredible. You are like a cat, you have multiple lives and somebody in heaven is watching over you. For sure. I'm thinking at this point, I believe that for sure. So how are you turning your life around? So my dad passed away in 2020 of breast cancer. You know, really cancer is there's never been an of our family, my mom or my dad's side. Can we reiterate that? Because a lot of people think that breast cancer is only for women, so he's, so he said breast cancer, his dad passed away from breast cancer. Man and it's more prevalent than people know or understand. So cancer is just a vicious thing and it affects everybody and has no boundaries. So I'm sorry to hear about your dad. Oh, Thank you. Yeah, it was a real surprise when dad found out he had breast cancer. That's been my hero my whole life. No, he, he was an incredible hard worker. He was a man of character. He was a man of God and he fought it. He, he had such an amazing attitude and. He beat the cancer, but it was the chemotherapy that really got him because he ended up with pulmonary fibrosis because of the treatments and that's real. And once he couldn't breathe anymore. Ever since I had my, all my medical issue, my doctors told me, they said the only way you're going to live through this, if you get strong and you work out and you exercise because your body has been rattled. And so I did from a very young age, I started exercising and I spent a lot of time in the gym and I worked out and that's really, a lot of my saving grace was mentally as well was I kind of had that warrior mindset of, I can do this and I, I just battled it and It really has exercise and nutrition is really after dad passed that really just kind of got a switch flipped in my brain. And I realized how fragile life really is by almost 69, which is not that old at all. And I have a 17 year old and a 14 year old and another 14 year old stepson. I got a ways to go, but I thought, you know, I made it to myself and I commend it to God that I will be everything in my power to do as much as I can just to stick around as long as I can. But I, you know, that, that means that I have to commit to living a healthy lifestyle right now. I used to chew. I've never smoked, but I gave chewing up about eight years ago and. I didn't want to have cancer. I didn't want to die. I wanted to be around for my kids and I wanted to be healthy. And so that was just, this is just kind of the next step in that process, but I always chewing the first thing you gave up was that the first step it was. Once I had kids, it really I just want not about me anymore. You know I just want them to have a better life than I did and I want to be there. I'm going to be there for my grandkids and maybe great grandkids, you know? Absolutely. There's a lot of longevity on my mom's side. So maybe we'll fall, fall somewhere in the middle of. I don't know somebody is looking out for you. What are some other things that you, that you changed to get your, your life on a healthier track? So fitness was the main that I've had to focus on and be in state committed with go into the gym, running biking. I do a lot of, we have lots of mountains and Hills over here that we can hike nutrition. My side of the family, we've all been, we're not obese, but I'd say heavier. And so my metabolism doesn't work like it used to most, most adults that that's the way it works, but struggle to stay in really good shape and be fit. If I look at something fattening, it seems, it feels like I gained a couple pounds, you know? So I really have to be diligent about that. And Supplements is a big part of what I do now, supplements because there's so much we can't, we can't right. You don't have your big garden in the backyard no more. That is true. I know, I know you have a Neo life business and a friend of mine also does, I am a proponent for that company. But that, that is true. Unfortunately, people don't understand and I used to be more opposed to them, but now that I understand, like how depleted soil is how old our food is in the grocery store. Even if it's fresh in the produce area, it sits so long and oxidizes so much by the time we get it in our bodies, it's like pretty depleted. It's kind of sad. Tell us a few things about, your physical feats? Cause I know you've done some pretty cool things, so I ended up, the other other thing I had was I had, I had sole surgery year and a half. On my shoulder surgery from care. And so they went in and did a whole bunch of work on it and it was it was quite a process. I've never had shoulder surgery and the recovery was a whole lot longer than I ever wanted it to be our expected it to be. So I've been hitting it pretty hard in the gym and I've been able to do a Murph challenge I've also got involved in doing CrossFit about two years ago and that's been amazing because it's, it's a full body workout. I have a lot of Spartan races and that's really, it's been a blast because it's all different terrain and it's like, you're running through mud and water and all kinds of stuff, climbing over mountains and Hills and walls and running through fire. But it's just, I find it, if I don't push myself, I'm just kind of trotting along doing nothing. So I'm very goal oriented and so I've always got something set in front of me that as long as I push on myself, I'm moving. That's very true. I find if you, if you don't have goals and you don't push yourself, nobody else will, you know, people can explain things to you, but you have to dig deep and find that motivation down inside of you to want it bad enough to do it. And it is sad that a lot of times it is like a death of a loved one, or, you know, my mom had brain cancer. The same thing as you, once she started that chemo, she was lifeless. And, you know, it is what it is, but it, it does enforce those ideas that, wow, I get one body. This is not a rehearsal. This is the real thing here. And how I treat it, it's going to serve me or it's not going to serve me. And I always say, you know, whatever food you put into your body, it acts like a soldier. It's going to fight for you. It's going to fight against you. You can pay for better food and better supplements, or are you going to pay the medical facilities! You know, it's one of the other so, so you started doing spark and that's really cool. CrossFit Murph challenge explaining what a Murph challenges. Oh, Murph challenges. It's, it's one of the workouts that was created by a former Marine and. So it was, it was the exercise that he would do. And so in memory, every on Memorial day, that's typically when, when all the CrossFitters will do it is, is I can remember what it is. I believe it's a one mile run, a hundred pushups, a hundred hundred pull-ups, 300 squats, and then a mile or mile and a half run to complete it . It's quite a push. Ah, yeah, push-ups I don't think I can get through, unless I gave me a lot of time. I, the most I can do in like one situation is probably about forty. We have teams and so you can break it up into quarters or halves or whatever, but we'll think about it is it's, you know, You're there working, working out together, and you're doing that as a team and you're remembering the fallen heroes. Right, right. That's really cool. I'm familiar with Spartan. It's funny. I just was in a business situation with somebody who was like bad-ass in the Spartan world. She traveled the world and did Spartans... hello? Hello, Shelley. But yeah, that is a really fun thing. I have been toying with that idea and she's like, that's what I do.conversation withAnd I was like, no way. That's just awesome. So how do you feel compared to now, like now compared to when you search stop chewing say... how do you feel when you get up in the morning? The things you want to do during the day? You know, whenever you stop, whenever you stop something like that, there's, there's the cravings, you know, for whatever reason, smoking chewing, it's like after a meal, you want to throw that DEP in or have that smoke. And, and when you, when you cut that out, it takes, it took me awhile. And I, and I failed several times before I finally just completely quit it. I started asking myself, why was I doing. What was it that I was trying to replace or satisfy at me and, you know, it was a crutch. It was just an, it was something that I was using to dull something in me that I wouldn't want to do. I love that you had the conversation with yourself. Like, why am I doing this? Like, cause a lot of people don't even stop to think like, what am I doing to myself? Why am I doing it? Like how is this making me feel? Is it being done to alleviate something else I don't have to think about or do or whatnot. Like you said, a crutch and I think that's, very big of you to say, a lot of people I don't think would but I think that's most vices, right? Most vices are like that. And addiction is a real thing. And as an officer I deal, I see, I talk to people on the daily and I really, I dig in and I want to know, you know, I ask him what's how did you get started? And you know what addiction is. I truly try and understand because I want to be empathetic. And so it's, you know, whatever that, that, that need is that we're trying to fulfill is real. And so now I don't even think about it. It's not even a second thought to me when I get up in the morning. I, you know, I feel amazing. I, and ,it's a process. This is not, I'm not going to get there overnight, but. And the commitment you know, and as long as I stick with my goals and I've got things ahead of me every day gets a little bit easier to get up in the morning, go to the gym and the wiser I'm going to be at. So if somebody is sitting next to you and they were having weight issues , is there a piece of advice that you could give them to get maybe that first domino rolling in their lives to start their journey in more of a healthy way? Good question. I think first of all, you have to love yourself self care, mental health, and you have to be right upstairs and in your hearts. Not good there. You're not going to be good anywhere else. And I think once you deal with that, then the outward, the outward is going to show. And you know, if you're dealing with your weight and your high blood pressure and heartburn, which I had all those things, you know what? Right. And nicotine, I cut off the alcohol, I cut out the caffeine. My heartburn went away. My weight went down. My stress went down. I started taking supplements. I was exercising. My blood pressure dropped immensely isn't it amazing, like you, you start doing one thing. And then I think once people start feeling a little bit better, then you're like, okay, I'll do this. And they're more willing to do the next step because they start feeling the positive results of, of the first thing that they did. And then they just gained momentum. I find that very often and it's like, you just, you just need to take that first step. Right. That's the hardest part. That's really important taking that leap of faith. You know, it's not easy because nobody wants to fail. And as humans, we would rather not take that step and not fail. Then have the fear of failure and you know what, everybody that's successful in life. You got to take that step if you want change. I there's a quote that I have in my office. And it says, don't expect the results from the work you don't put in. That's very true. And my vision of what failure is, it's just that you've given up. It doesn't matter if you've tried and didn't succeed. You just keep trying until you do. And if you just stop trying that's in my mind failing so I have one last question is a little bit deeper. And it's, if you could change one thing in this world, eliminate it forever, what would it be and why? If there's one thing that I can eliminate in this world, we cancer, I hear you absolutely that, you know, and I know that they're working hard to find a cure and maybe they will someday, but I just know that it's a very terrible disease and I lost a loved one to it. And. If I could do it, if I can eliminate. And that's one thing I would do cause dad still be here. Well, I think that living a lifestyle that you've chosen to do all different kinds of exercises and goal-setting, and talking to yourself, getting clarity and all that self care that is fighting cancer because you're putting yourself in the odds of your health in a better position. Then other people. And I think that sends a message to people who look to you. You know what I mean? Who look up to you, your family, your friends, the people you work with when they see you do that. I personally view that as kind of a fight for cancer because you're, you are trying to do something to prevent it. And I think that's really awesome and commendable. And I thank you for your service because I think it's very important. My niece and her husband are both police officers in New York. So, yes, I appreciate what you do in it's hard job. And there's a lot of stress there, so I'm sure it's very easy for people who serve like that when they have to deal with a lot of trauma all the time. And a lot of people who aren't friendly and nice that it's very easy to come home and do things that you know, aren't the best for your health. So yeah, it's, it's kind of an easy, an easy path to go down, but you didn't do it and I'm so proud of you for that. I thank you for being on the vitality feed. If somebody would like to get ahold of you, do you have like any kind of social media you'd like to put out there for them? I have a Facebook page. Okay. And I have a, I have an Instagram page as well. Yeah. It asked me questions about my business. Dustin lee. Okay. And my Instagram is B loves. The K D loves the K Kesha. That's my wife. So cute. Okay. That sounds good. All right. Vitality seekers. I just want to remind everybody life has no remote. Get up and change it yourself.

130: Build A Business And Life You LoveIn today's sharing, I have an interview that was done with the Philippines, the CEO of VIP International, Richard Paredes. So he has interviewed me and I love to share with you this season of this episode. I think there are a lot of great nuggets for you to pick up on the stuff that matters to you the most. Why do we need to value our clients?(09:02-09:21) Every single Wednesday at 09:00 p.m. Sharp, I show up consistently rain or shine. So by doing so, I built up from zero, nobody attended my webinar. I have crickets, cockroaches and butterflies attending my webinar, right? Nobody else was there.(09:46-09:51) I think it's all about giving value and being consistent to show that you are there. (10:04- 10:45) So value is something that people don't really get it. They think by just going on a Facebook life, they just share and sell something on intellectual. I mean, that's great. But what is real value is that someone takes away something. If I can give you one or two AHA moments on the show, that is value. And that is why when I'm now launching my Make It Happen campaign for my book and my podcast show, I'm giving value to anyone today who wants to get onto my show three to five minutes. I'm going to promote you. Why is giving value is important?(11:01- 11:15) So what is value? So if you really want to help somebody, you know what? Don't sell, give value first. If they know, like, and trust you, they'll love you, they'll respect you. (11:38- 11:49) So giving value, Rich, is just like what you're doing, really providing them know, like, trust goal so that they build a relationship with you.(12:24-12:43)So I'm letting people tap onto our big giant shoulders to leap off, at least have an opportunity. You see, success is not about glorious wins, it's never about that. It's about taking a step back and letting other people shine as well.Don't Be Afraid to Start from Zero(15:21-16;05) But if you think about it, yeah. Before, Gary Vaynerchuk him, Gary Vaynerchuk. He started wine TV, wine library or wine TV. And that has nobody watching it. Robert Kiyosaki started somewhere. Nobody even know about him until he started teaching and doing the board game. Right. So we all started from zero. And when we look at the successes of people, like, when people look at you, Rich people are like, oh, Rich is so amazing. You do your own show, you got this, we got that. And then they're. They're like, oh, but I can never be like Rich. But you know what? You just need to take a baby step. The 3 P's by Genecia1. Prioritize(16:12-16;30) Where is your dream? What is your goal? prioritize. If your dream is to be seen and to be heard as a leader, you want to be a leader in the agency, in your organization, on the online platform, whatever that may be, you have to prioritize. 2. Push Yourself(16:34-16:46) Get yourself with a network of like-minded, people, right? because like, attract like-minded people and then you get support and then people push you along, cheerleading you.3. Prepare to Launch(16:53-17:24) Too many of you prepare but never launch. How many of you think about launching that podcast that Facebook live, that business that you want to do, the early-stage entrepreneurship that you always wanted to start to make money online. You're thinking you're always preparing, researching and preparing. Hope that one day when the time is right, TADA, you think that the fairy godmother is going to come down and bring a magic one and wave a magic one like Cinderella. (17:45-17:47) Don't just prepare, prepare and launch it.The power is in our hands. (19:07-19:37) We have the power in our hands. And if you get out of the comfort zone, stop being a victim. Blaming the COVID, blaming the lockdown, blaming another person. If you take that power again, you know what? You can dream. You can make money online. You can have a side hustle that you always wanted to do. That's right, because it's never about the resources, it's always about the resourcefulness.(30:01-30:50) If you are thinking, oh, life sucks. Life is lousy. That person's fault, and you stay in that box and you choose to stay in that box. Every single day, we talk about 21 days to build an amazing habit. Can you imagine it's only 21 days and you can't even keep doing it? And you have done the years of your life, 20 years of your life, 30 years of your life, 40 years of your life complaining. How are the 21 days going to transform into it 30 years, 20 years and 40 years of your life? Unless you choose to when you choose, you know what? You don't have to change who you are. But you must be willing to learn and grow your mindset.Take a Different Perspective(35:48-38:58) If you are not doing very well in this time of covid or having a lockdown, take a different perspective. What do your clients or potential audience need?(34:39-34:47) So I've got this image consultant-client she's charging about. She's shown to sell a $3,000 package to engineers. (35:26-35:06) Most engineers are behind the scenes behind-the-scenes. And the fact is, she couldn't sell her packages at all through the sum of the crickets literally zero. So when she came to me and I told her, I said, Why don't you consider changing a perspective, taking another perspective of what your audience needs? So after much brainstorming, I said, why not you sell them or promote to them how to look good on dates? Because most engineers are really nerdy. I'm just saying, generally they are nerds, but I believe they're really handsome engineers out there as well. (36:11-36:22) But they don't have time for dates. Why don't you teach them how to look good on a first date? How do you do your social etiquette for the first date or the subsequent date?(36:23-36:36) With the same pricing, she took a different perspective of their package. We looked at the client they're targeting, and guess what? She sold like hotcakes. The package is sold like hotcakes.Importance of Knowing Your Market(39:43-40:36)Sell to everybody. Sell to nobody. Speak to one. Speak to many. So if you think about it, if I could give you a hard moment today about who your target market should be, then I want you to hop on the movement of making it happen because helping you to see a perspective overcoming a challenge of identifying your fishes is important for me, especially now when everyone is going online and the funny part is Rich, they are thinking I want a salmon head, a body of a shark, a tail of a dolphin. It's not possible. The fish is dead. The fish is already dead. By the time you chop them up and then put the jigsaw puzzle together. (41:24-42:03) You have to just keep changing and moulding yourself into your customer's needs. Why not just be who you are. Be who you really are. Be authentic and tell yourself, who do you want to serve and then go to the next. Love your customers more than you love your product.Take all Excuses out and Ask For Help(54:52-55:15) But first, you need to get all of your excuses out of the sofa, of excuses, out of the couch of excuses. I went out to look for people who could help me ask for help. We agents are so unwilling to ask for help. Do we look weak when we ask for help? Well, to a lot of people, we look weak. But I want to encourage you today. Take courage to ask for help. Take Courage to Be Who you are (55:46-56:19) Take courage. I really want those of you who are watching this right now. You're not here by chance. Especially now. It's life. You're not here by chance. You have this intuition that you are here today supporting Rich on VIP TV to be here on this show. There must be a reason why you need to hear this right now. Remember, you don't have to change who you are. You can go from stuck to unstoppable without changing who you are and allowing that diamond to shine. The Art of Delegation(01:02:56-01:03:53) You need to learn the art of delegation. My mentor told me that if you want to scale your business or grow your business, you can't be a solo premiere all the time. I don't want to be a bottleneck of my own business. So when he highlighted to me that if I want to be the bottleneck, then I can just do everything myself because I am the best at doing everything myself and the best person I can finish doing the task in the shortest possible time and then I have no time, no freedom and I work as a slave myself. I really am a slave to my business. I mean, what is the reason you guys are out there doing entrepreneurship or making money online? What are the purpose and reason? Right. But you must be willing to work hard in the beginning and then find some ways to outsource 5 hours of your time just a week or a month.(01:03:59-01:04:30) Ask someone else to do it for you, even for the women out there. Even babysitting, give yourself time for yourself. It's also outsourcing and delegating through. So by having this mindset of being able to let go and empower someone to do the work, even though they may not do as well as you. But think about it. With the extra 5 hours of your time, you could be making more money and this is a rich person mindset. A rich mindset. The ASC Method in Communication(01:09:43-01:10:37) Social media marketing. There are so many different parts to it. And whether is it Facebook, Facebook Page, your profile. Is it for Instagram? There are so many different ways to do that same thing called social media marketing. So I think we really need to be specific in our communication. And I always will use the ASC method, which accelerates your communication. Be authentic, C for clarifying without hesitation. So apply the ASC format. Okay. Really consistently clarify, clarify and clarify without hesitation. We'll help you to communicate better with your team and build your business and make money online without reinventing the wheel over and over again.(01:13:44-01:14:20) Opportunity presents itself. But of course, like what we always see when the student is ready, the master will appear. Not the master has appeared. But will you be the student tonight? Today, tomorrow? By clicking on the link by submitting your voice recording three to five minutes to be on a podcast show. That it's international. That's going to bring your business, your brand, your leadership up one notch. Ten knots. Are you willing to take a step forward to make money online? (01:17:22-01:17:34) But are you willing to take the step, or do you want to continue to be where you are now, but to be where you are now, to where you want to need to start(01:17:35-01:18:04 Because every day, if you do a 1% improvement to be a different version of you, the other word I never say better. I say different. 1% just 1%. It's all you need every single day. And imagine that 1% is just three to five minutes. By the end of 365 days, you will have 365% of a different version of yourself, which means you go to the next.Key Takeaways:1. Be Resourceful.2. It's OK to start from Zero.3. During todays Friday Fire I reflect on a simple question my 8 year old son asked at our dinner table, "would you rather be the best of the worst or the worst of the best?" It was not only thought provoking once I started thinking about it, though possibly even more interesting was the answers that my father-in-law gave and the comparison with the ideas behind "would you rather be the head of a mouse or tail of a lion?"Please let me know what you think about this content with a rating or review on Apple Podcasts, or hit my up with a DM on Instagram @NickTroutmanKayak I would love to hear more about the subjects that you are most interested in, or any individuals that you would like me to interview. Push Yourself to the Brink and Tell Me This Song That’s about the Drink
Why do we get stuck inside our heads at times? …especially when its negative thoughts. Why does out mind generally steer toward unproductive things that don't really serve our overall vision, productivity and life we “want to create”. More importantly, why do we continue to have the same thoughts over and over again that just cause us stress, anxiety, depression, and other negative stuff? …especially today with Covid and all the restrictions and quarantines going on… It's more important than ever that you start to take control of your life and your thoughts especially. And…just as important, how can we break the cycle and get unstuck and back to positive thoughts and productivity? Today on the daily mastermind podcast, I'm going to talk about that as well as some ideas and strategies I've used to get back on track when things go “off the rails so to speak”. We have lots to talk about so let's get right into it. But first, let's start with the Daily Mastermind Mobile App Quote of the Day… Les Brown…Decide that you are going to Push Yourself!! Ok, so let's talk about your mindset shall we… Why are we stuck inside our head? Well...Your thoughts create your life right? And, We have 50,000 thoughts per day…probably more like 100k Problem...Most people have the same 50,000 thoughts Why is this the case? How do we change this? And, more importantly...How do we change this long-term? I have found by talking to people in the mastermind community and individuals I know that this causes many challenges. Anxiety, depression, stress, and endless cycles of bad days…many of you know exactly what I mean. So today I wanted to talk about some ways that you can get unstuck and out of your own head. I want to talk about ways that you can become more productive and less distracted. I think a KEY to understand is not HOW to change our thoughts as much as how to DIRECT our thoughts. There are lots of ways that I'm sure you have found to deal with a bad day or a series of bad thoughts…breaking the thought cycle Or maybe you are like me and you continue to struggle with it and are still experimenting with techniques all the time… But Let me suggest one of the number one way I have learned to get out of this cycle is… The key for me has been To find a way to take the FOCUS OFF OF YOURSELF… LET ME REPEAT THAT AGAIN…YOU MUST REDIRECT YOUR THOUGHTS AWAY FROM YOU AND YOUR PROBLEMS... Usually when we were in a cycle of bad thoughts it is because we are upset about our past or anxious about our future. We are focused on our own problems, concerns, circumstances and bad experiences. This causes us to be taken out of the present moment and into a world that doesn't exist….one more time…a WORLD THAT DOESN'T EXIST… ...and yet these thoughts impact our world that does exist…making it a bad day…a worse experience…and even worse… It causes us to create more of the bad things we are experiencing INSIDE OUR MINDS…can you relate? So here is the thing to remember…remind yourself of…and Believe... The past is over and although it can help us to learn some lessons, it is not productive or healthy for us to stay fixated on the thought of the past… more often than not, that will keep us trapped inside our minds and in a cycle of stuff that does not serve us... AND... the future does not exist yet either...and it is also not productive for us to stay stressed or fixated on things that have not happened…things that “MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT” happen in the future we haven't created yet. Are you following me here? Do you believe and accept this to be true?? …because it is whether you believe it or not. There is only ONE REALITY and its the present moment. I always continue to remind myself… “NOT TO LET THE PAST EXPERIENCES OR THE FUTURE VISION ROB ME OF THE JOY IN THE PRESENT…" NOW THE KEY I WANT TO POINT OUT TO YOU AGAIN IS… that usually the NEGATIVE past or STRESSFUL future moments that we are thinking about revolve around OURSELVES...And THIS is why we need to take the focus off ourselves and onto something bigger, more positive and outside of ourselves I realize this also poses a challenge because when we are working on developing ourselves we are told to focus internally… We are told we want to learn to create self-esteem and self-confidence which comes from within and not outside ourselves…and this is true. But today we are talking about ways that you can specifically get unstuck when that internal progress is not happening…when you are feeling depressed, negative or anxious about things…when you are JUST STUCK. Now Believe me when I say...I realize this is easier said than done I get stuck often, but I have learned to break the cycle quicker over the last few years but doing things to break the cycle…I've learned to DIRECT MY THOUGHTS BETTER... So how do we go about taking the focus off of ourselves and redirecting our thoughts? Well my partner Robert Stuberg would say that you ask better questions… I could go into a whole series of reasons and explanations why the questions we ask ourselves determine our thoughts… But today for the sake of time, I wanna give you some practical ways to do it rather than explain why and how they work… another episode I'll have Robert on and he can break it down for us. So here are some ways that I have found are helpful; 1- Find someone in your life that you want to inspire and support 2- Find a purpose cause were mission greater than yourself 3- Practice gratitude 4- Engage in service projects or causes, and I mean the act of doing them 5- Find a mentor, coach or counselor to give you objective feedback and direction 6- Get active physically in order to create the mind-body connection 7- Ultimately just distract yourself, but make sure that you have an objective once you're distracted. Most people distract themselves in an unhealthy way with Netflix, mobile devices, or social media. Make sure it's a healthy distraction and not one that expands the negative thoughts and patterns. 8- Overwhelm your mindset with outside positivity like podcasts 9- Ongoing strategies would be things like prosperity pillars, surround yourself with positive people, better environment I hope these ideas are things that can help you to Break the Cycle when you get in negative patterns of thought inside your head. Just remember this…you are not your mind…you mind is a tool that you MUST learn to direct, focus and train. If you do this, you will live a happier, healthier and more successful life…that's my goal for you. Share this podcast and send me some feedback on your thoughts. Thanks for listening. PUSH YOURSELF!! This is the most powerful Motivational Speech on how you have massive potential, but success isn't going to come easy! You have to give it everything you've got. Speaker:- Freddy Fri.
“You need to drive into the fog and trust that the road will appear. ” Today I discuss the concept of trusting that the path will appear once you start. There are many examples of this, though the easiest for my to explain is driving into the fog. You can only see 20 ft ahead, though as you keep driving the road unveils itself 20ft at a time. Sometimes you just need to take action and know that it is ok if you don't have all the answers or vision right now, but with action you will start and only after starting will the ideas and opportunities unveil themselves. Gun ownership is such a polarizing subject. And, with the increasing gun ownership in America combined with the tension and friction we’ve seen between people, it’s only going to become more so. That said, gun ownership is a fundamental right protected by the United States Constitution but that does not absolve us of the responsibility we, as gun owners, have to be safe and make ourselves proficient with our firearms. Today, I am joined by former Navy SEAL, Jeff Gonzales to talk about both our rights and responsibilities as gun owners. We also cover recommendations for new firearms owners, how much time needs to be dedicated towards training (including training without having access to a range), why the beginners' mindset will help you become a more proficient gun owner, and metrics for improving your accuracy and effectiveness should you need to use your firearm. SHOW HIGHLIGHTS Agnostic towards gun Following safety rules Adjusting to gun ownership Unprecedented times Dry firing your gun Establishing the fundamentals Measuring progress Valuing the experience Push Yourself to Failure Always ask “Why” Improving the collective Repeatable processes Hardening your home Evaluating your living situation Good-natured people JEFF GONZALES Gentlemen, my guest today is former Navy SEAL and firearms expert, Jeff Gonzales. Jeff is one of the most qualified men I know to talk on the subject of responsible gun ownership. Not only is he a decorated and respected SEAL operator, but he is also the president of Trident Concepts, LLC, and is a member of the NRA’s Training and Education Committee. Over the past few years, he’s put a heavy emphasis on concealed carry and has used his years of combat experience and tactical instruction to help law enforcement, military, and armed citizens become more capable and effective of defending themselves and others with firearms. BATTLE READINESS Gents, today we’ve been talking about making yourself more battle-ready with the use of firearms and while that is one critical component of protecting yourself and others, there is another equally demanding battle – the one with your mind. After teaching men for years the systems and skills they need to know to thrive, I’ve come to the conclusion that many men simply don’t have a plan for life. In other words, they’re not even mentally prepared for the battle. That’s where the 30 Days to Battle Ready program comes in. In this free 30 day course, I’m going to equip you with the exact strategy I’ve created over years of research, testing, and real-world application for maximizing your readiness for whatever life has to throw at you and thrive in the face of it. If you’re ready to dive in and do more self-work over the next 30 days than you potentially have your entire life, join the 30 Days to Battle Ready program and get started immediately. Throwing it back to our "Push Yourself" episode! Don't let your excuses get in the way of what needs to be done. Leave your softness at home. Get out and PUSH YOURSELF. #GetYaMindRight
Our guest for episode 7 is Dena Bunnel. Dena and I met 15+ years ago, and I have enjoyed watching her grow and create change throughout her career. She has recently taken a role with Nuru International where she will step out of her traditional international development government roles and into a non-profit leadership role in west Africa. Nigeria to be exact. Dena has intentionally dedicated her career to helping bring individuals and communities out of poverty by creating opportunities for growth that is right for them. She sounds pretty amazing, doesn't she? Well, that's because she is. Dena and I chat about the opportunities to take intentional steps in your career, no matter what phase you are in, to discover your true passion, and find a way to create or modify your career to focus on that passion. CONNECT Dena and I chat about the importance of making connections when you are both in the discovery phase and the building phase of your intentional career building. If you are a student, take classes that will help you learn the skills that you need to succeed in the career, not just the major that sounds like the best fit. If you want to work internationally, consider taking a foreign language, but maybe also look into organizations that work with international students to learn about different cultures and make global connections. Or, you can take it head-on like Dena. She realized that to help individuals make real, long-term change she needed a stronger economics background, and she decided to go back for a masters in economics to gain the tools she needed to intentionally position herself for success. Maybe you are currently out of work, or looking for your next move. Ask yourself some hard, but important questions: 1. What do you like to do for work? 2. But why do you like that work? 3. Why is that work fulfilling? 4. Do you have the skillset to continue to grow in that type of work? 5. If not, what skills do you need to refine? 6. Look back at your current or your last job. What happened in that role, that you could've done better? Not what could others have changed, but truly, what could you have done better? The answer may be nothing, but if you dig deeper, I bet there is something you can take away from that experience that you could have changed. Now, set up a plan to intentionally capitalize on what you do great--grow a business or organization by doing the great stuff even better, but most importantly, write down 3 ways you can grow in the area that you could improve. Make your weaknesses stronger and stretch yourself. CHANGE Dena and I have both worked with farmers in various roles. Farmers are very similar whether they are in southeast Kansas where Dena grew up, or in Bangladesh or Nigeria. You give them the challenge of growing a crop and they will conquer it. They will care for the seed, grow the crop and harvest the fruit. However, there are many different ways to approach the process and inputs that can change the outcome. Through Dena's work, she has seen firsthand that many times we will go into a first world country, see what their problems are with growing crops, and make the recommendation for change in practice. What we don't do is take time to understand the local approach to why each step has been chosen to grow the crop. As highly-productive farmers, we see a need for more fertilizer, but what we don't always consider is if that farmer is producing on low margins and delayed payments, then he might not have the cash flow to purchase that fertilizer. If he does, he has to give up something else. The expense that he sacrifices could cover the cost of sending his daughter to school. These are choices that luckily for many Americans, we don't have to make. Dena's intentional suggested approach is not only to help them produce a high-quality crop, but also to find ways to build more processing facilities in country to add value to the local economy, consider transportation of the crop, seasonality of the harvest, financial support for costs associated with growing a crop and growing a business. The holistic approach takes an intentional look at the issues and a solution that will be helpful in the long run versus a band-aid approach of just adding fertilizer to grow a better crop. So, how can you change your approach? How can you change your approach to not just solve the short term issue, i.e. not having in-person events in 2020 and look at the long-term opportunities? Think about being intentional with your budget, your team's time and your customer or audience's time. I'm a hard-core extrovert and love to be around people and gain my energy from others; however 2020 has made me take a step back and evaluate work travel and time away from my family. So, as an audience member, I want to host and attend in-person events when it's safe to do so, but I will be very choosy as to who gets my time moving forward.

Sometimes you have to be self-aware enough to know that you really don't want to keep going. If your honest you will have moments in the time where you don't want to. But... you can't stay there. You can't look at what's going on. You need to keep pushing and keep struggling. It's about being consistent. The more consistent you are, the more you will have fruit.

If you feel like most days you can't focus for more than 15 minutes at a time, lose your train of thought, feel like you are living in a daze. If you feel tired most of the time, like you have brain fog and are not as sharp as you used to be, then you may need to focus on eating the right foods to improve your brain healthHaving a healthy brain is extremely important to the entire health of the individual. Our brain controls every aspect and functioning of our body, and communicates to all of our cells. If we have a healthy brain, then things run much more smoothly. As we age, our brains tend to lose some of its elasticity. This makes it harder for the brain to communicate the way it should. This can result in having difficulty remembering, brain fog, feeling like you are living in a daze, and just not being as sharp as you once were. The good news is that there are things you can begin doing now to improve brain function, and the number one way to begin is with the foods you eat.Click on this episode to learn the top foods that you can eat that will improve your brain's overall health and reduce anxiety and depression!Did you enjoy this episode? Hello everyone! Some of you know and others do not know that my husband Steve is a professional Recovery Coach and Addiction Interventionist. He has been in recovery from alcohol for almost 27 years now. I thought it was time to introduce him to the world and for you to get to know my better half. I say that because he has overcome so much in his sobriety. He has a good heart and has been my biggest fan and supporter. I have invited him on my podcast. This podcast is for anyone in recovery, wanting recovery or who has a spouse or loved one in recovery. There is hope.My husband Steve's Story...It is probably a good idea to let you in on how I got here in the first place. My story is not unlike other recovery stories. It was about 27 years ago when I had my own intervention that lead me into sobriety. I was a new dad had a good full time job and drank myself to sleep every night. To this day not even my family knew how bad things had gotten. This went on for quite a while until my then wife literally got sick of me and kicked me out. I found myself kicked out of my own home, living in a disgusting hotel room and not being able to see or take care of my toddler daughter. I knew I was in a bad place when I contemplated suicide. I had a choice to make. I could choose alcohol or I could choose to recover my life. My first marriage had been a disaster for a while, so divorce wasn't necessarily a surprise to me. But, I had no idea how depressed I was about to become not being able to spend time with my daughter. The choice became an easy one, I chose sobriety…after some thought and some starting and stopping, I chose my life. I was about 3 months into my newly found sober life when I met my the love of my life, Teralyn. Fast forward and here we are 26 years later with 3 grown kids and a passion for helping others....listen in for more!Did you enjoy this episode? Controlling bloodsugars is not just a numbers game, but contingent on a myriad of chemical, hormonal, nutritional, viral, emotional, environmental, and bacterial factors. Mental health is profoundly affected by uncontrolled bloodsugars, the stress caused by a diagnosis (for parents and the children being diagnosed), and the root causes of the diabetes creating additional health problems. What are parents not being taught about diet, exercise, rest, environment, causes, solutions, treatments, recovery, and future health outcomes? In this episode we discuss the relationship between blood sugars, type 1 diabetes and mental health particularly in children. I had the flu last week, and it was rough. I survived by binge-listening to my Harry Potter audiobook collection (why are they so soothing?) and getting lots of rest. Now that I'm starting to feel a little better, I'm taking it easy and slowly reintroducing exercise back into my life. Did you know that 75% of overeating is a direct result of emotions? Higher levels of stress and emotion-related eating is associated with obesity. Maybe some of you are there. Maybe some of you are headed there. And maybe others of you are worried sick you might get there. Either way, it's a slippery slope and a very dangerous state to be in, regardless of your size.Cravings can certainly come from emotional distress, and once we find the antidote in food, it's hard to turn back and quit the cycle of cravings and food addictions. That's because our bodies are getting some sort of satisfaction through our emotional eating.Join the conversation with Dr. Teralyn and Leah Campian as they discuss how to end emotional eating for good!Interested in group coaching? It's a new year and that time of year where the internal and external pressure is strong to diet and cleanse. But what exactly is a cleanse anyway?
