Wish We Never Met historian (and songwriter!) David Borys? You'll need to listen to find out. A new episode of WWNM has arrived and Dan is...well, he's in Norway. So, he begrudgingly joins Amy virtually from abroad. After spending a few days at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Dan explains that a large part of the magic of the contentious global sports competition isn't found at the sports matches at all, but instead at Olympic Houses of different countries like Czechia, India, Mongolia and, of course, Canada too. While Dan was away, Amy DJed a queer wedding…and while doing so was hit on by a plethora of straight women. The co-hosts happily delve into the topic of "straight women gone wedding wild" before guest David Borys joins.Borys is boasts an unusual trifecta being one-part history professor, one-part inquisitive podcast host (Curious Canadian History), and, most recently, one-part CCMA Award-nominated songwriter for helping pen the Top 10 Canadian country radio hit “Whiskey in Colorado”. The co-hosts' chat with Borys is especially engaging!THANK YOU for listening to this episode of Wish We Never Met! Among all the things Jai Rodriguez knows how to do well, not punching down is at the top of the list . Sharing his journey from going to Broadway to landing a role in the groundbreaking TV series, “Queer Eye For The Straight Guy”, his grit and talent took the stage by storm, playing in shows like “Rent” and “The Producers”. He shares how he got started by going to his first audition at the age of 12 – a funny but inspiring anecdote on why you shouldn't take ‘no' for an answer easily. Jai also recounts his “Queer Eye” audition, the success of the show, and the overwhelming response they received early on. Despite the external glamor, Jai reveals his financial struggles during the press tours. He also gets real as he talks about a pivotal moment in his career during a meeting with agents, and how he was told that he may not be castable due to his identity – an untrue trope that stayed with him throughout a lot of his career. While it may have affected him deeply, Jai did not let it stop him from taking up space in the industry by rephrasing “you can't do it” as “it's just never been done before”. Jai Rodriguez is an actor and musician best known for his role in the original Fab Five 'Culture Vulture' in the award-winning show “Queer Eye For The Straight Guy”. He had his Broadway debut at the age of 18 when he was cast as Angel in the critically-acclaimed musical, “Rent”. His other credits include the long-running musical, “The Producers”, “Zanna, Don't!”, and an off-Broadway hit, “Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man”. He has a web series, “The Horizon”, which is the most-watched LGBTQ web series in the world. "With straight women, there's no committment" | We have a very special guest joining us on the show - Sara, my childhood friend and the only lesbian friend from my hometown. We go way back to our travel softball days when we were kids. Sara and I take a trip down memory lane as we recall the moment we realized we were attracted to women. It's fascinating to explore how we navigated those feelings as commitment, trying to make sense of our identities. We even lived together! What a fucking shitshow. The amount of countless stories of the wild adventures we've had - you're in for a treat. Sara has a pattern of really only dating straight women, so we dive into the reasons behind it. She also shares her experience growing up as a lesbian in a Catholic School environment. This is just the beginning of Sara's appearances on Dear Bianca. You can expect a whole lot more as she'll be joining us more frequently in episodes to come. So sit back, relax, and get ready to laugh a whole lot as we welcome Sara to Dear Bianca! He didn't give me a topic so I wanted to share something that I read on the men's rights reddit and thought it was worth sharing. Here's what someone on there has to say and I quote: "I'm a single gay latino who lives in a major city. I am in the prime of my life in my 20's and ever since I turned 21 I have not been able to enjoy it because every "gay" bar is taken over by straight women and their boyfriends. I have been accused of hating women for speaking out against this. But they are robbing us of our spaces. The hypocrisy I see is that a lot of these women don't want trans women in sports because its unfair to girls and robbing them of their space. What do you call it when you go to a gay bar and drag your boyfriend there? I have been hit on by straight women in a gay bar. I have hit on men in a GAY bar multiple times and was told "Sorry, Im straight! I'm here with my girlfriend over there, see?" I have been groped by straight women in gay bars. My gay friends experience the same thing too. Not to mention my lesbian friends frustration with straight women not being interested in them. Imagine if the genders were reversed and men did this to women in lesbian bars? Now I do understand lesbian bars are going away. I am actually against that and am pro lesbian bar. But you can't tell me society would let men get away with taking over lesbian bars." unquote. Buddy here needs to understand that women invade all male spaces. Gay bars are something I never even thought of before. They dominate male spaces because that's what they do to supervise male behavior and make sure we aren't talking poorly about them or sharing our knowledge about female nature. I don't really think the bar owners care as they are selling more drinks and more food. And guess who's paying for all the drinks the straight women are consuming there? That's right their boyfriends. He's the designated wallet for the night. Because the gay men won't buy them drinks so someone has to. I've been dragged to the gay village in Toronto by girlfriends in the past in solidarity for their gay friends and then I was getting hit on by guys. This Latino that's complaining needs to understand that most of the straight guys in the gay bar are only there to appease their girlfriends. They need to go easy on such guys. It's the women that are the three nipple ring circus leaders. That guy needs to look at women shutting down bars, coffee shops and every all male group except the free masons. Hypergamy - the action of marrying or forming a sexual relationship with a person of a superior sociological or educational background - is popping up more and more recently. Coaches are creating Instagram and Tik Tok accounts to teach hundreds of thousands of people (mostly straight women) how to successfully date upwards and to date upwards and attract 'Alpha Males' & 'High Value Men'. Diggory and accredited sex therapist Cate Campbell discuss this phenomenon and askHas it been around for longer than we think? Why do people (particularly young straight women) want to date 'upward'? What does coaching someone to date upwards look like? Is it ethical to couple up with someone for money and status rather than genuine connection? How long will this last for? Diggory also puts your sex questions and conundrums to Cate which in this episode revolve whether to have a baby in a sexless marriage and why one woman's boyfriend always apologises after sex... This conversation may not be palatable for everyone, but then again...it's me. Britt East and Jonathan Beal educated me, enlightened me, and challenged me in this one. We unpacked the underlying reason why many straight women feel "safe" with gay men, and why it's a troubling and inaccurate assumption. Britt, an award-winning author and gay man, shares cultural truths about some gay men that shocked me (which is hard to do!). Jonathan, a self-kindness Coach and bisexual man, explains the stereotypes he's had to face and how it impacts his desire to seek out relationships. Britt and Jonathan discussed the role that porn has played in their lives, and I share how I've used it in my personal AND professional life! As usual, we get real...really real. Faith, Culture, and all things in between. This week, Pastor Plek, Pastor Joseph, and Catie Sas discuss a plethora of questions sent in! Want to submit a question? Text 737-231-0605!Questions:-Question 1: I've only been attracted to men my whole life. I struggle with the notion of trying to "force" an attraction to women by dating. It can seem like trying to take control, but could also be interpreted as walking in faith depending on how you view it (God can change anything)... That's why I'm asking your perspective. In my mind I'm trying to take action because sitting around and just praying about it seems wrong. We are called to take action. But there's a fear that I'll date a women and just not develop physical attraction. So maybe it's just fear of that and not wanting to lead someone on-Question 2: Who is deceived after Satan is released? Christians? Where are these people coming from? Similar question asked: You said for a thousand year Jesus will reign on earth in a perfect sinless world yet people will still turn away from him. Isn't turning away and denying Christ sin? How is it a perfect sinless world of people still deny Christ?-Question 3: Is Christ ruling over all the earth during the thousand year reign? This is all prior to the new heaven and new earth, so is it possible that things still don't work perfectly during this period?-Question 4: Question for the podcast: Since dualism isn't a thing, and hell is a place of judgement under God's authority, what does the phrase "gates of hell shall not prevail" from Matt. 16:18 mean?-Question 5: Literal vs. figurative/metaphorical. Have had a tough time as we've gone through revelation as to what text is taken literally vs. what we take as metaphor. Seems pretty arbitrary. Example is rev 20:2We're saying that the thousand years is a literal thousand years. Do we literally think that Satan was a dragon, a serpent, the devil and Satan all at the same exact time? if so, did he have multiple faces or what? Or are these descriptions metaphors? IF we are saying they are metaphors then WHY don't we say the thousand years is a metaphor? These descriptions and the thousand years are all part of the same sentence. If the description of Satan is a metaphor then why would John use literalism in the same exact sentence?Obviously no view of eschatology is perfect, they all have to "cheat" somewhere. If what I said above is true (about literal vs metaphor) doesn't it seem kinda like we're picking what fits our end times view and going with that?Support the show (https://wbcc.churchcenter.com/giving)

On today's episode I am back again with my good friend and old flame Sheri, as we unpack the nuances behind why Straight Women can be so fluid in their sexuality, and often find themselves drawn to explore sex with women, or potentially date women later in life. After turning to instagram for public opinion, we also include some of the audience's feedback earlier in the week, based on their own experiences. For decades Court chased after the unavailable woman. After years of causing harm to herself and others, she finally found recovery from sex and love addiction. This episode is jam-packed with so many secrets and her beautiful self-discovery.______JUNE IS LGBT PRIDE MONTH - Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month (LGBT Pride Month) is celebrated annually in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots, and works to achieve equal justice and equal opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) Americans. In June of 1969, patrons and supporters of the Stonewall Inn in New York City staged an uprising to resist the police harassment and persecution to which LGBT Americans were commonly subjected. This uprising marks the beginning of a movement to outlaw discriminatory laws and practices against LGBT Americans.Today, celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, workshops, symposia and concerts, and LGBT Pride Month events attract millions of participants around the world. Memorials are held during this month for those members of the community who have been lost to hate crimes or HIV/AIDS. The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact that LGBTQ individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally.Federal and local policies and practices are increasingly acknowledging and focusing on LGBTQ youth and numerous national advocacy and other organizations are also giving greater attention to LGBTQ youth in their work. Encouraging greater acceptance and support for all youth, including those who are or are perceived to be LGBTQ, will make communities, schools, and other settings safer, better places for all youth.RESOURCES:https://www.glaad.orghttps://www.hrc.orghttps://www.thetrevorproject.orgIf you or anyone you know is struggling with addiction or depression, we've compiled a list of resources on the Secret Life Website: https://secretlifepodcast.comTo share your secret and be a guest on the show, email secretlifepodcast@icloud.com_____To find out more information about Brianne's book Secret Life of a Hollywood Sex & Love Addict, check out the website: https://secretlifenovel.com or At Amazon_____HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE SHOW?Tell Your Friends & Share Online!Subscribe, Rate & Review: Apple PodcastsFollow & Listen Spotify | Stitcher | Google PodcastsSpread the word via social mediaInstagramTwitterFacebook#SecretLifePodcastDonateYou can also support the show with a one-time or monthly donation via PayPal (make payment to secretlifepodcast@icloud.com) or at our WEBSITE.Connect with Brianne Davis-Gantt (@thebriannedavis)Official WebsiteInstagramFacebookTwitterConnect with Mark Gantt (@markgantt)Main WebsiteDirecting WebsiteInstagramFacebookTwitter
It's just over a year since the businesswoman and conservative peer Dido Harding was brought in to set up a test and trace system to help stop the Covid-19 pandemic. The system was going to be “world beating” and help get the UK out of lockdown according to the Prime minister but the incredible costs involved – around £37 billion – have been criticised for failing to make an impact. The system has improved but what will its legacy be? Dido Harding talks to Emma Barnett on Woman's Hour today in her first interview since leaving the role last month and reflects on the ups and downs of the last year. As we celebrate Pride Month throughout June we thought we'd spend a moment celebrating the relationship between gay men and their female BFF. From reality stars like Jenny and Lee on Googlebox and Olivia Bentley's relationship with Ollie and Gareth in Made in Chelsea to Will and Grace to the designer Halston and Liza Minelli. What is it about the relationship that makes them so special? A group of MPs, Including the former Prime Minister Theresa May, are trying to push through a vote in parliament which they hope will reverse controversial cuts to the international aid budget. It's likely that an amendment to the Advanced Research and Invention Agency bill will happen, and that technical change will result in aid spending going back to what it was. It was recently cut from 0.7% to 0.5. Preet Gill MP is Shadow International Development Secretary and Ella Whelan is a journalist and commentator who doesn't believe in foreign aid. Happy Pride Month, That Aged Well listeners! Paul and Erika are kicking off the celebration by talking about 1998's The Object of My Affection, starring Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd. This one runs the gamut, from a deep dive into desserts at 3am, to the Daly siblings (Tyne and Tim), to Velma Kellying, to a “10pm thing.” All this, and Paul still has time to swoon over Paul Rudd...it's a packed episode, so don't miss it!

TW: death & griefThis week we connected with Victoria Noe, an award-winning author, speaker and activist. She is the perfect candidate for Mental Health Awareness month because of her contributions to the AIDS community & her writing about grief, particularly her Friend Grief series which recognizes the importance of friendships in shaping our lives. A little background about Viki: her HIV/AIDS activism led her to write Fag Hags, Divas and Moms: The Legacy of Straight Women in the AIDS Community, the first book to honor the ways women changed the course of the epidemic. She is an accomplished public speaker with two degrees in theatre, she has presented at The Muse and the Marketplace, Book Expo America, Mt. Sinai Hospital, Open Hand, ACT UP/London and libraries around the country. She is also a Nerinx Hall Alum with Caroline and the two of them gush about their high school shenanigans in St. Louis, Missouri.
c joins Dr. Ghadir on this weeks episode of The Fertile Life and opens up about her fertility and motherhood journey, miscarriage, and a surprise pregnancy. Scheana shares the ups and downs she experienced along the way from the positive and seamless egg-freezing process she had with Dr. Ghadir, to the difficult miscarriage, then followed by her rainbow baby. Scheana's positive attitude and open mindedness helped make her egg-freezing experience enjoyable, as she always focused on the BIG PICTURE. She shares her strong belief that there is no shame in talking about pregnancy loss or being proactive about planning for your future babies. She also discusses why being pregnant during quarantine was a blessing, as there were no opportunities for FOMO! Dr. Ghadir and Scheana explain what women should know about fertility testing, such as the AMH test (anti-mullerian hormone) and what it tells you about your fertility. Also, why sometimes your biological age and your fertility age may not always be in sync. Scheana also gives expecting mothers some baby prep advice, and why all you really need are “Boobs and a Bassinet” when the baby comes home from the hospital. SCHEANA SHAY is an actress, model, and star of the hit docuseries “Vanderpump Rules,” which recently completed its 8th season on Bravo. After graduating from college with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, Scheana moved to Hollywood to materialize her career ambitions. The Southern California native quickly landed co-starring roles on several popular television shows, including JONAS, 90210, Greek, Victorious, and Entourage, in addition to numerous national commercials and on-air hosting gigs for Young Hollywood and other media platforms. In recent years, Scheana has expanded her journalism resume to include guest hosting/commentator roles for programs such as the Steve Harvey Show, Dr. Drew, among others, and hosts the popular podcast “Scheananigans with Scheana Shay” from ActionParkMedia. Scheana recently crossed an item off her bucket list with her headlining role on the Las Vegas strip in “Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man.” IG/Twitter/Snapchat: @scheana --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thefertilelife/message

Modern sex, dating, and relationships often Hinge on dating apps (see what I did there?). Whether you're on Bumble, Tinder, Match, eHarmony, OKCupid, Plenty of Fish, Coffee Meets Bagel, or, of course, Hinge, your experience will vary depending on a number of factors. Here, we get personal in terms of what we, as women, experience on the apps, and how men can get our attention in a good way.
Television writer Russell T Davies, best known for his pioneering “Queer as Folk” and the “Dr. Who” reboot, says he’s seen just about every televised drama about gay men and AIDS. And now his new series “It’s A Sin,” which chronicles the lives of six friends living in London at the start of the AIDS crisis, has just become the most-watched drama ever on Britain’s Channel 4.The show is celebrated for capturing the youthful joy of being gay in an urban environment while showing the painful moments of the AIDS crisis, but “It’s a Sin” is also frought with sensationalism and harmful portrayals of HIV and AIDS tropes. As Dr. Frank N Furter would say “How SENTIMENTAL.”While watching the series, we were struck with how much the central character of Jill Baxter, who is overwhelmed helping her gay friends manage the AIDS crisis, reminded us of Victoria Noe who came on this podcast to talk about her book “Fag Hags, Divas and Moms: The Legacy of Straight Women in the AIDS Community.”Today writer Victoria Noe joins us to take a look at Russel T Davies’ miniseries “It’s a Sin” and what it was like for her and her close friends through the AIDS crisis.Featured book:
With the premiere of Russell T Davies’ new series “Its a Sin” about the the lives of a group of gay men and their friends who lived during the HIV/AIDS crisis in the United Kingdom during the early 80s, we thought it would be great to repost our interview with writer Victoria Noe.Victoria Noe’s book “Fag Hags, Divas and Moms” looks at the extraordinary women who helped people survive and handle the AIDS crisis, much like Russell T Davies’ series.{Best of Feast of Fun, originally posted as FOF #2723 – The Wonder Women of AIDS on Mar 27, 2019}---------- Although many moms, sisters, healthcare workers, scientists, friends and Hollywood stars like Liz Taylor played an important role in the fight against AIDS, these incredible women are often forgotten by history. That is until now- in the new book “Fag Hags, Divas and Moms: The Legacy of Straight Women in the AIDS Community” author Victoria Noe takes a first look at the women whose indespensible contributions continue to help people survive the AIDS crisis.Today writer Victoria Noe joins us to take a look at the wonder women who fought back and fought AIDS and why their incredible legacy still endures today. It is estimated that there are between 10 and 19 million, that’s right, million, women in China who are unknowingly married to closeted gay men, setting up a pending crisis for these women and their spouses. The cultural pressures that keep China’s LGBT people hidden are very different than the pressures the LGBT community faces in Western cultures. With no specific religious prohibition on homosexuality, China’s LGBT face pressure to enter heteronormative marriages for entirely different reasons, namely a social security system that relies on children taking care of their parents. If LGBT people don’t get married and have kids, the entire family’s future financial security is in jeopardy. Join us for an exploration of the unique social forces that have created this massive phenomenon, and what is being done to raise awareness of straight spouses and their LGBT partners in China. Journalist Barclay Bram outlines the issue: “I think what you’re seeing in America, now that gay marriage is being legalized and there’s much more tolerance of the community than there ever has been, you now see this wave of people coming out as gay, even if they’re married and so you’re starting to see the extent to which the straight spouse problem has existed. But the situation in China and India and Africa and across the Middle East is that today, at any age, people feel the need to still get into heteronormative marriages, and that’s a huge problem.”

Recent studies show that there is a big orgasm gap between men in women: roughly 65% of heterosexual women orgasm in partner sex, compared to an overwhelming 95% of heterosexual men. What's really interesting though is that lesbian women's orgasm rates are very close to those of heterosexual men at 85%. On today's episode, Dr. Valeria and sex coach Sarah Martin talk about some of the reasons why orgasm rates are so much higher in lesbian women, and what contributes to their superior sexual satisfaction compared to heterosexual women. Cooper S. Beckett, Dylan Thomas, and Ginger Bentham know that the mailbag won't gang bang itself, so they've sat down to answer listener submitted questions for the 35th time! Question 1: Great podcast, I enjoy listening to you guys. My boyfriend and I are in an open relationship and it is going very well. My question is about dental dams, he and I don't use condoms when together but we always do with other people. He tried giving me oral using a dental dam just as an experiment and honestly I felt absolutely nothing :( most people don't use them i assume for exactly that reason. At least with condom the man still feels sensation although it's decreased comparing it to dental dam where one feels absolutely nothing, I barely felt he was down there lol. I know giving and receiving oral without a barrier is not the safest specially if involved in this lifestyle but when dental dam sucks so much what other alternatives are there to encourage it's usage. Could it be the brand of dental dam I used? Are there better brands out there that might be a little better. Question 2: Just started listening to your podcast and my husband and I are interested in adventuring into this fun world. We visited a sex club not too far away and we had a fun evening together, but it seemed like we were more adventurous than most of the other couples there that night. For the cost of being there, I wondered if we would be able to connect with other couples interested in setting up our own sexual adventure night at a very nice hotel. Am I being naive or is this a possibility? What are your thoughts with your experiences on this? We are open to engaging with others in our sexual play and with other couples. Kelli Question 3: I am on the spectrum of Aspergers. Since I can't easily read people and don't know what they want, I take the approach of "if that was good for you, I'll do it again next time", how do I broach this with other swing partners in a positive way, and avoid repetitive sex?' Question 4: This is the most privileged problem one can have, but I have noticed since entering my current open relationship (and trying to enter the local poly community) that there doesn't seem to be much of a place for straight women. I strongly identify as straight. I don't come from a repressive community (in fact many people in my family know I'm ethically non-monogamous and are very supportive) and I'm not aware of any bias I have against bi women - in fact recently I've reaaaaalllly wished I wanted anything to do with women. It seems a shame to not have the potential to experience half the population. I haven't experimented with women. And I honestly just do not want to. I have knee jerk negative reactions about the thought of having sex with other women. I feel annoyed by it when couples invite me to play, and I actually have low level violent urges sometimes (not fun ones - like 'I'm going to deck this chick if she keeps touching my waste' urges). I feel the same way about snuggling and kissing - this isn't mere vag-phobia. I keep hearing this message that no one is all straight and you need to exiperiment to know. But I don't think experimenting is physically or emotionally safe for me. Should I just accept that, at least for now, I'm straight as an arrow and accept the limitations of that (I see the irony in this statement btw)? What do I say to people who meet my self identification with cynicism? I'm frustrated. Comedian and dater of straight women, J. Fox-Jones joins us this week to tell us why some lesbians end up with women who used to exclusively date men. If you date a straight woman, does that mean you have to *GULP* watch The Bachelor????!!! Does she assume you’ll handle things like installing shelves and killing bugs? We also give tips on how to watch Black Panther with a queer eye, and Sarah comes up with a radical alternative to watching movies…that just happens to sound a lot like TV.Keep the podcast alive and gay by donating to our Patreon. For related content, follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Leave Us a Review if you like what you hear! And if you love our theme song, check out the duo who created it, There Is No Mountain.
