Why are the Greens the natural party of peace? What is the go with the debate non-invite? Does Josh Burns’ move to skip how-to-vote cards make the seat more likely to go to the Liberals? Feeding our kids has much more to do with relationship and connection- than it does with actual food. Connected and supportive family meals can be super simple, but lead to deep relationships, higher literacy and better digestion. Tune into our conversation on the podcast today, as I interview Dr. Deborah Macnamara, a Developmentalist and founder of Kid's Best Bet Counselling who makes sense of kids for the adults responsible for raising them. She "translates developmental science into practical love” according to Gabor Maté, through her work as a counselor, author, teacher, and researcher. In this episode: How feeding kids (and fussy eating) is so much more than just foodThe best non-food food book ever written: NourishedThe surprising bits of food research that Dr Macnamara discovered as she dealt with her own picky eaters, and how it impacts relationships The 3 ingredients you want to include in your meals (hint: none of them are food) How to care for and connect with your kids through nourishing them Connect with Dr Macnamara: Facebook- Dr. Deborah MacNamaraTwitter- @debmacnamaraIG- HEREWebsite: www.gathertoeat.com---Connect with Crystal:Intuitive Journaling Prompts HERE and a somatic meditation (Move through frustration in 15 minutes or less) HERE, The Art of Non-Attachment Workshop HEREGet started on this work with daily practice in a journal, Burn This Book (a great intro to mental and emotional wellness) HEREWork with Crystal 1:1: www.coachcrystal.ca/miracle or in group: www.coachcrystal.ca/creationroomGrab your copy of Crystal's feelings wheel here: www.coachcrystal.ca/wheelFind your parenting personality (and get tips specific to it) by taking the quiz HERE
Josh Burns was the youngest member of the Labor caucus when he was elected to parliament in 2019, but he faces tough opposition on both sides to retain the pivotal seat of Macnamara at the upcoming election. Situated in Melbourne, Macnamara is one of the most diverse seats in the nation, home to a wide range of cultures, communities and ethnicities. At the last election, Burns defeated both the Liberals and the Greens by just 2% of the vote, and it could be an even closer finish this time. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
It's Easter Sunday and Joe Macnamara reminds us that even in life's in-between moments, Jesus is not finished with us. The women came to the tomb expecting silence—but were met with wonder, fear, and joy. Jesus meets them on the way—just like he meets us.
Congrats to Dutton for winning the first debate (presumably?), and to Jason Clare for not knowing the second one existed. Emerald and Tom take a look at Adam Bandt’s appearance at the National Press Club (10:26). Greens want to wind back handouts for property investors, and of course that whole dental and mental into Medicare thing. Then, a look at the seat of Macnamara in Melbourne (41:18). Why wasn’t the Greens candidate Sonya Semmens welcome at the Jewish Community Election Forum? Will Josh Burns bravely choose to not do how-to-vote cards? (Spoiler - that’s what happened.) In this sermon, Joe explores Ephesians 2:11–19, highlighting God's intentional design for diversity and how sin distorts it into division. Through Jesus' sacrifice, we're reconciled to God and each other, breaking down barriers and uniting us as one in Christ. This transformative unity surpasses superficial efforts, fostering genuine peace and belonging within God's family.
If we are in the midst of the Great Derangement (thank you Amitav Ghosh), what tools do we have to help us shape a system that is actually fit for purpose? Who are our elders and what can they teach us? How do we learn to listen to our heart's (and hearts') desire and shape the communities of place, passion and purpose that will allow us to emerge into a different culture? Our two guests this week live and work at the heart of a global movement for cultural change. Looby Macnamara is the co-founder of the Cultural Emergence movement. She is an author, designer, gardener, song leader, mother, and artist. She has written four influential books including People & Permaculture and Cultural Emergence - and she has a new one coming out in September: Design Adventures: Discover a Creative Framework for Effective Change. She is also creator of the CEED card deck - Cultural Emergence Empowerment & Design. With her partner, Chris, Looby runs Applewood Permaculture Centre in Herefordshire, UK, where they facilitate courses and demonstrate permaculture of both land and people . Leona Johnson, host of Connection Matters Podcast, is a transformational life coach, connection facilitator, and guide dedicated to personal growth, cultural emergence, and regenerative ways of being. She has spent decades exploring how we heal the crisis of disconnection, within ourselves, in our relationships, and in the world around us.Through her work in nature connection, rites of passage, life coaching, and cultural emergence, she supports people to step into Connected Self-Leadership and what she calls ‘Everyday Spirituality' practical, embodied ways of living with depth, purpose, and alignment.Leona co-hosts the PEACE course with Looby and online with Jon Young, runs the Connection Matters Leadership Programme, Nature Quests around the world, and Children, Nature & Spirituality courses. At the heart of her work is a simple but powerful message: When we remember our interconnectedness, with ourselves, each other, and the other than human world, we step into our fullest potential and create the conditions for a thriving world. These two transformational women are part of a growing movement to shift the entire foundation of our culture. What happens if we stop being the hamsters in the wheel of modernity and become the lively, inspiring, inspired - and connected - individuals we could be? In this episode we explore the nature of cultural emergence, the values that could underpin our new culture and the real, grounded, practical ways we can begin the journeys of shift in ourselves and our communities. The discussion contrasts performative behaviour with the freedom of faith, emphasising salvation as a gift of grace. It illustrates the transformation from sin to life in Christ and encourages living in the Spirit out of gratitude for salvation.

Fáilte ar ais chuig eagrán nua de Ar An Lá Seo ar an 13ú lá de mí na Samhna, liomsa Lauren Ní Loingsigh. I 1992 bhí Mary Robinson ar scairdeitleán agus bhí orthu stop a chur leis an tuirlingt I Marseilles. Bhí an scairdeitleán ar an mbealach ón Aifric go dtí Meiriceá agus níor dhúsaigh Mary Robinson suas I rith an eachtra. I 2003 bhí imreoir sacair Éireannach Paul McGrath I gcúirt. Cúisíodh é as an tsíocháin a bhriseadh. Gabhadh é taobh amuigh teach a chéad bhean chéile ach phléadáil sé neamhchiontach. I 1978 d'oinigh Donal E.J. MacNamara, lena thuismitheoirí ón Fhiacail agus Leath Inse, ón United Jewis Appeal de bharr gur thug sé comhairle do phóilíní agus phríosún in Iosrael. I 1992 bhris tine amach I bhfoirgneamh ar sráid Parnell in Inis de bharr tocht a chuaigh trí thine. Tháinig dhá inneall dóiteáin chun an foirgneamh agus mhúchadh an tine. Bhí a lán damáiste deatach sna foirgnimh timpeall air. Ní raibh an trácht ábalta bogadh ar feadh uair a chloig I rith an eachtra. Sin Boyz II Men le End of the Road – an t-amhrán is mó ar an lá seo I 1992. Agus ag lean ar aghaidh le nuacht cheoil ón lá seo, I 1999 dúradh go raibh na Spice Girls an banna ceoil a thuill an chuid is mó I rith na 90's lena chéad albam 'Spice'. Dhíol siad níos mó ná 20 milliúin chóipeanna. I 2015 rinneadh ionsaí I bPáras I rith ceolchoirm Eagles of Death Metal. Bhí an banna ceoil sábháilte ach maraíodh 89 duine ar an oíche. Agus ar deireadh breithlá daoine cáiliúla inniu ná aisteoir Gerard Butler a rugadh in Albain I 1969 agus aisteoir Whoppi Goldberg a rugadh I Nua-Eabhrac I 1955 agus seo chuid de a obair a rinne sí. Beidh mé ar ais libh amárach le eagrán nua de Ar An Lá Seo.

In this sneakpeak of our summit, Dr. Macnamara walks us through how food is only one part of nourishment, yet it has consumed our focus and eclipsed the need for connection when feeding our families. The road to the stomach must go through the heart. Andy and Mon-Chaio explore the concept of growth and improvement, focusing on technical leadership. They learn about deliberate practice and discuss its role in enhancing skills for leaders. Scrabble players help them identify practices that lead to skill improvements and contrasting methods that don't, such as casual reading or working. The discussion wanders to how these findings relate to NBA coaching and engineering leadership. By the end, listeners will understand why deliberate practice, reflection, and handling high-stakes situations are essential for leaders aiming to improve their skills. In this episode you will learn about the secrets of the Inuit culture in northern Canada and how they raise some of the most emotionally intelligent children on the planet. What is so fascinating about this culture is they have parents that rarely, if ever, yell at their children; and they parent in such a way that the children are extremely resilient, compassionate, and emotionally regulated. The Inuit moms helped Michaeleen Doucleff, author and global health correspondent, completely rethink her discipline with her daughter, and in this podcast episode you will be gifted some of the biggest takeaways these Inuit mommas bestowed on Michaeleen during time with them. Michaeleen Doucleff, PhD, is the author of the New York Times Best Seller Hunt, Gather, Parent. This book describes a way of raising helpful and confident children, which moms and dads have turn to for millennia. It also explains how American families can incorporate this approach into their busy lives. Doucleff wrote the book after travelling to three continents with her three-year-old daughter, Rosy. Maya, Inuit, and Hadzabe families showed her how to tame tantrums, motivate kids to be helpful, and build children's confidence, and self-sufficiency. Michaeleen also is a global health correspondent for NPR Science Desk, where she reports about disease outbreaks and children's health. She has a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Berkeley, California, a master's degree from the University of California, Davis, and a bachelor's degree from Caltech. Not the recap we wanted to do, but the recap that may be necessary- We break down the entirety of the Iowa loss to Iowa State over the weekend. What was it like to see the Hawks jump out to an early lead with promising play calling and scoring, and how did it flip in the 2nd half eventually to see the lead evaporate with seconds left on the clock. What sparked the big plays for both teams? Should Iowa be concerned with their punt game? How do we get 6 points from being 1st and goal at the 3 twice? And what is the implication on the season moving forward.. all of that and more.If you love the show and want to show support, tell your friends! FOOTBALL is finally in full swing, we are so back! The Hawks took care of business on Saturday vs the Redbirds but that is not the story line, its HOW they won, primarily what they did in the 2nd half that has Hawkeye fans buzzing. We are going to breakdown how Iowa amassed almost 500 yards of Offense and 3 WR touchdowns in its opening game of the year, both things that havent been done in YEARS for Iowa Football. We talk Tim Lester and his new playbook and what the balance was between scheme and execution in finding success Saturday. We talk individual performances like Cade, Vander Zee, and Kaleb Johnson, as well the uncharacteristic penalties from Saturday, and a whole lot more.If you love the show and want to show support, tell your friends!
