Hesitation Marks is the kind of album that sneaks up on you: it's dark, sure, but it moves, it grooves, and it keeps circling the same uncomfortable questions until they start sounding like your own thoughts. Chris and Tim put on the headphones and do a full, track by track listen of Nine Inch Nails' 2013 industrial rock pivot, digging into why this record feels more melodic and more anxious than the early, scorched earth era.We talk about Trent Reznor as the engine of Nine Inch Nails, plus the creative impact of collaborators like Atticus Ross and producer Alan Moulder. Along the way we react in real time to the big moments, the loops, the synth textures, and the drum programming that makes the album weirdly danceable. “Copy Of A” kicks off a whole thread about identity and repetition, “Came Back Haunted” turns haunting into consequence and inner dialogue, and “Find My Way” lands as the stripped down mission statement: trying to be better while your past keeps tapping you on the shoulder. Then we get into the deep cuts that really define the record for us, from the catchy paranoia of “Satellite” to the heavy, internal struggle of “Various Methods Of Escape,” plus the broader theme of being split “in two” between fear and love, shadow self and present self. We finish by ranking our top three non-hit songs to give you a clear re-listen path if you're revisiting Hesitation Marks or hearing it for the first time.If you like thoughtful music breakdowns with a little chaos, subscribe to Greatest Night Hits, share this with a fellow Nine Inch Nails fan, and leave a review.
This is one of the most vulnerable conversations we've ever had on the podcast. In this episode, Deena shares something deeply personal: her experience with postpartum depression after the birth of her third baby. What started as exhaustion and overwhelm slowly turned into something heavier, constant tears, crushing shame, and dark thoughts she never imagined she would have as a mom.If you've ever felt like you're failing at motherhood… like everyone else is coping better than you… like your brain is telling you lies about who you are as a parent, this episode is for you. Together, Kristin and Deena talk honestly about what postpartum depression actually feels like from the inside, the warning signs that something wasn't right, and the moment Deena realized she needed help. They also talk about the power of saying the scary thoughts out loud, the role of support from partners and friends, and the steps that helped Deena begin to find her way back. In this episode, you'll hear:• What postpartum depression can actually look like in real life• The thoughts many struggling moms are too ashamed to say out loud• Why postpartum depression has nothing to do with being a “good” or “bad” mom• How to recognize when it's time to reach out for help• The small steps that can start the path toward feeling betterIf you are struggling, please know this: there's nothing wrong with you, you are not alone, and help is out there. This conversation is raw, honest, and ultimately hopeful, because no mom should have to carry this alone. You can also contact Postpartum Support International (they have free helplines, tests, and local providers). If you're in immediate danger, call or text 988 in the U.S. If you're elsewhere, your local emergency number can connect you to crisis support. This episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services. It's Oscars season, and you know what that means! The boys are off on their (first) annual trip to Tinseltown. That's right, we're here to discuss the 98th Academy Awards: the glitz, the glomour, and, of course, the films! F1, Frankenstein, others! What was our favourite film of the year, and why was it Frankenstein? Will Train Dreams take it all? For Best Effects, will it be "Avatar: Fire and Ash" or "Jurrasic World Rebirth"? Only two things are certain. One, both films gave us quite the thrill. Two, this author does not envy the voters having to choose just one. Three, the boys are thrilled to bring you their coverage of not just the Oscars, but the year in film! Tune in or be square! We search the heavens and plumb the depths for what to cover next. And worry not, dear listener, for as in all things, we are men of great success; and like Russell Crowe's Jack Aubrey, we chart an unerring course, a course promising glory not only for ourselves, not only for our inexperienced yet plucky crew, but for a greater cause, for the glory of our beloved country. As Robert Pugh's Mr. Allen, Master said to James D'Arcy's 1st Lt. Tom Pullings, "That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship." A Perry and Shawna listener shares, “I’ve fallen away from Christ, and I can’t seem to find my way back.” Where do you go? What do you do when you can’t find your way back to God? Dr. Jeremy Grinnell earned his PhD in Systematic Theology from Calvin Seminary in Grand Rapids, MI, and taught theology at a West Michigan seminary for nearly 15 years. He joins us to answer your Bible questions. After a conversation about finding our way back home, Ronda asks, “In the Bible it says that God provides all we need. If this is true, why is it people like me do not sleep when medical professionals state we require 7-9 hours of sleep?” Also in this episode: What do you do when you don’t have what you need to get the job done? When you feel ill-equipped to be used by God? There’s a pretty incredible story in the Bible of God providing lunch for 5,000 men from a boy’s lunch. If we bring what we have to God, I think He can use that. We Perry shares about the morning his son called with tears saying “Bri has cancer.” “Fear Is Not My Future,” became Bri’s and Taylor’s song as they put their ultimate hope not in Bri getting better (she did), but in something way more sure. Late last week Perry was sharing with his son, “It would be awesome to see God do a biblical-sized miracle to encourage my faith.” Over the weekend he didn’t get that, but he got what he needed, what each of us needs when our faith wanes.Donate to Moody Radio: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/morningshow/wgnbSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Title: Find My Way [Verse 1] Lost in life's maze Turn around and around Gotta find the way Feet won't touch the ground [Verse 2] Winding path so steep Lessons learned in pain Through the nights I weep Chasing dreams like rain [Chorus] Gonna find my way Through the dark I'll glow Every turn I take Just helps me grow [Verse 3] Road blocks in my face Stumble but I'll rise Hope within my grace Learn to see the skies [Bridge] Echoes of the past Voices that I've known Future coming fast Seeds of strength are sown [Chorus] Gonna find my way Through the dark I'll glow Every turn I take Just helps me grow
This episode on Queering The Air, Sasja was joined by the incredibly talented Samuel Gaskin to discuss his new single, “Find My Way Back,” in collaboration with Kee'han.Creating a love letter for their ancestors, Naarm based multi-hyphenate Samuel Gaskin and soulful singer-songwriter Kee'ahn have combined creative forces on the liberating new single ‘Find My Way Back', which was dropped onto Planet Earth on Wednesday 7 August. ‘Find My Way Back' is Samuel Gaskin's first new music for 2024, and sees them channelling their Māori and Nigerian roots in this personal collaboration with Kee'ahn. Out via Noisehive, ‘Find My Way Back' was produced by Samuel Gaskin and Pip Norman (Baker Boy, Missy Higgins, Dan Sultan), with Hayden Laureson (Woodes, Akosia, Boy Soda) on mixing duties and mastered by Joe La Porta (Willow, Laufey, Miley Cyrus) at Sterling Sound in New Jersey. Sam and Kee'ahn's commanding vocal synergy complements each other perfectly nestled amongst the layers of delicate harmonies emphasising their songwriting prowess and catchy melodies, “an invitation to accept ourselves where we are at so that we can have the courage and self belief, to chase after what feels like home” shares Kee'ahn With a clear message and reminder to listen deeply to country, and to be led by your ancestors, “For me ‘Find My Way Back' is a love letter to the Ancestors and the parts of ourselves we may have shut down or been disconnected from,” revealsSamuel Gaskin"Find My Way Back" Music Video
