Fantastic day today when my son, Austin stopped by the studio as a guest on the Check Your Six podcast. We talked about a few things, both of the podcasts that he generates, Frightmares and All Juice, No Gin as well as the short film that he and Gabby, his wife are in the process of creating. Frightmares is at about 311 episodes at the time of this recording and covers just about all things horror from movies to books to events and everything in between. Gave a shout out to Chris Bishop and his book The Scare Zone and to one of his favorite guest on the show, Eduardo Sanchez, director of The Blair Witch Project!!. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/frightmares/id1452661594?i=1000704588564 We also talked about his latest podcast, All Juice No Gin and the journey that Austin and his buddy Cramer are on with sobriety.https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/all-juice-no-gin/id1788489711?i=1000704908771 Talked about the short comedy horror film that is coming out in the summer called Dust Bunnies and the fun and challenges they were involved with putting that together. Also had to give a shout out to The Orlando Law Group after I talked about Austin working there...he doesn't, it is The Mortgage Firm but just because they are awesome I wanted to give them a shout out!! https://www.theorlandolawgroup.com/ All in all, a great morning sitting with my son and listening to what is going on in his life. Of course the best thing is the incredible granddaughter that we have been blessed with and get to see every day during the week, CJ...good day indeedEmail us at tim@grpstudios.com
On this episode of SLPS, Michael is joined by podcaster Austin Proctor of Frightmares to discuss Damien Chazelle's WHIPLASH. The post Shame List Picture Show S9E5 – WHIPLASH feat. Austin Proctor appeared first on Cinepunx.
Austin Proctor of the Frightmares podcast joins Laci and Matt to go through The Devil's Rejects, the second film from director Robert “Robbie” Zombie. A family of demented devil freaks is running roughshod over Jimmy Carter's America, and the only thing standing in their way is a demented devil sheriff who just might be even more evil. Who will win? Answer? You, the listener, as we unpack this gory, unpleasant, but fascinating early 2000s horror/neo-western. Love the show? Hate the show? Think it's just okay? Send us a text! This is one of the most anticipated episodes of the year: Frightmares 2: The Third Part of Primordial. Nate, Brandon, and intern Matt recap their highly anticipated trip to Lagoon, filled with soggy tacos (tradition!), waiting in line for Primordial (tradition!!), and running out of time (tradition!!!). In a little less than 6 hours, we managed to ride 2 rides and go through 3 haunted houses. Some houses were disappointing, some were a nice refresh, and some had an hour long line. But we ended the night by getting soaked on Rattle Snake Rapids, which was the highlight of the trip!If you make it to lagoon before they close for the season, keep your eye out for Brandon at the Beaver Tail stand. Rumor is, he is still waiting. Support the showFind us on social media as well!https://linktr.ee/Thisisaplace

[image credit: Fan Ming] Brian Kirk - author of the newly released "We Are Monsters" returns to the Big Chair at the Roundtable to brainstorm a tale of the betrayal of a cadre of super-soldiers in an epic scifi/fantasy world. The tale is offered up by Cameron Wall (who has been inducted in the RTP "Fan Hall of Fame" for... well, just listen to the episode) and is fraught with political intrigue, forbidden love, warring city-states, and a squad of immortal soldiers. Yeah... it's like that. I'm joined once again by co-host and horror writer CW LaSart and we all dive into a fabulous brainstorm... ...twice. See, we recorded it once, and then - through a catastrophic sequence of events I have no desire to get into - the audio was lost. So EVERYONE was kind enough to come back and record it again. I was nervous... the brainstorms are spontaneous, organic, creative events. You just can't repeat them. I think we came up with an effective solution AND managed to surge forward with and ever cooler workshop! Click that "PLAY" button and see for yourself! (and, by all means, if you haven't heard Brian's fabulous Showcase Episode, jump into the wayback machine - aka The Internet" - and check it out!) PROMO: The Melting Potcast – writers, stories, and more! Workshop Episode 85 (Guest Host: Brian Kirk) [caution: mature language - listener discretion is advised] Share your comments to this (or any) episode over at the RTP Forum! Check out this and all our episodes on iTunes and on Stitcher Radio! Brian's pen is never resting...
