Nick Kypreos and Justin Bourne welcome back New York Rangers analyst and CEO of Clear Sight Analytics, Steve Valiquette (5:38) to chat about if there's a path out of a rebuild for the Rangers, why the Colorado Avalanche are the winners coming out of the trade deadline, if the red-hot Buffalo Sabres have the right goaltenders for a deep Stanley Cup Playoff run, why Tristan Jarry's comments about his blueline could haunt him heading into the later stages of the season, what has changed for Brandon Bussi before and after the Winter Olympics, why the Pittsburgh Penguins could slip down the standings, and if the L.A. Kings can sneak into the post-season picture. The Toronto Maple Leafs head west for Game 54 against the Seattle Kraken, and the frustration around lineup decisions continues to grow. With Toronto Maple Leafs facing a late 10 p.m. ET puck drop in Seattle, this game preview breaks down a lineup that remains largely unchanged — and increasingly difficult to justify. The discussion dives deep into Matthews' ability to carry his own line, the defensive issues that persist, and why young players like Easton Cowan continue to lose ice time. There's also sharp criticism of usage decisions under head coach Craig Berube, questions about development, and growing concerns about letting assets walk for nothing. It may have to do with the return of a key ingredient in the peanut butter and jelly sandwich recipe. Carts and King breakdown what they've seen over the last week or so, and although some topics may have flashed the feeds already, the guys need to get their takes in. From Jojo's "no goal" goal," to Wallstedt doing his best Optimus Prime impression, and Trenin leading the league in hits for the moment, Wild on 7th's attention span bounces around like a TikTok feed this week. Kinger even bounces around the league with his TikTok teams! The Minnesota Wild are at home through the end of next week, so grab yourself a sandwich and a glass of milk, and listen up for some fresh takes, and a great look back with an awesome interview with Niklas Bäckström.
