In today's podcast, Benita Sharma takes us inside a story that began with symptoms treated as TB, before revealing something far more serious and rare. Then came the warnings, the timelines and the choices. One doctor spoke of 20 days. Others pointed to surgery, chemotherapy or radiation. Yet the answers still did not feel clear. In conversation with Anshu Bahanda, Benita looks back at the moment she stepped away from the expected path of healing cancer, and the role family, nutrition, faith, discipline and self-trust played when fear could have taken over.Important to note: this episode is not medical advice, and it should not be treated as a prescription. It is one person's lived experience, not a substitute for professional medical guidance.

Have you ever felt like every tab in your brain is open, and not one of them will close? That was Sam Yo at 23, the year before he walked away from a successful London stage career to spend years in a Thai Buddhist monastery. In this episode, I sit down with him for the conversation I needed when my own brain wouldn't stop running. Sam is now a Peloton instructor and the author of The Monk's Mindset (Blackstone, May 19, 2026). His arc, from London stage to Thai monastery to a global Peloton audience, was just featured in PEOPLE Magazine. He left a roller coaster of stage, sports car, and success because the noise inside had grown louder than the noise outside. What he learned in the silence is what he teaches his Peloton students and the readers of his new book: you don't need to escape your life to find stillness. You learn to carry it. We talk about why your overthinking isn't actually a thinking problem, what your nervous system is doing at two in the morning when you can't let a conversation go, and the small named practices that interrupt the spiral. Sam walks us through a 90-second breath exercise live on the recording, the three daily anchors he uses to keep himself tethered, and the three filters his teacher gave him to run before you react to anything. In This Episode Why your overthinking isn't a thinking problem (and what it actually is) The 4-2-6 breath that interrupts a 2 a.m. spiral in 90 seconds, walked through live on the episode The three daily anchors that quiet a restless mind: intention, reset, reflection The walking practice Sam's teacher gave him when he couldn't sit still and meditate How emptying your cup changes the way you listen in every relationship you have The three filters to run before you react: is it true, is it kind, is it necessary Why a Peloton ride teaches the same thing a Thai monastery taught Sam The teacher's lesson about a cut foot that reframes every setback as redirection This episode is for anyone who has lain awake at two in the morning replaying a conversation from earlier that day, wondering why their brain won't let it go. It is for the person who has downloaded three meditation apps and quit each one because the silence felt like one more thing to be good at. Sam's tools don't ask you to retreat from your life. They ask you to find the stillness that's already in it, in five breaths before you check your phone, in the warmth of a mug between your hands, in the sound of a broom on a kitchen floor. Today's episode is for those of you at the very beginning of something… even if you can't quite name it yet. Most people who find their way into this work haven't lived linear lives. You've changed, outgrown things, and been through many cycles of death and rebirth. You've never quite fit the mould and if you're honest, life itself has felt like a kind of training ground. Almost as if you've been prepared for something. Then there comes a moment (or a series of moments), usually around mid-life, where something starts to get your attention. A quiet pull. A persistent niggle. Patterns you can't ignore anymore. A dissatisfaction some would flippantly call a "midlife crisis". It might show up through synchronicities, dreams, conversations… or just a growing sense that the life you've built no longer fully fits. Many people feel this. But just as many rationalise it away. Minimise it. Talk themselves out of it. Tell themselves it's just a phase, or something external that needs fixing. In this episode, we're going to slow that down. I'll walk you through how to recognise when you're being called, in real, practical terms, sharing some of my own story as I go - and the grounded steps you can take if you choose to follow it.

What can you expect to learn from this episode of Popular Pig? You will learn how a vertically integrated system can connect livestock production directly to processing and distribution. You will understand why smaller regional plants can improve access to processing and support local producers. You will learn how genetics and production choices impact meat quality, animal welfare, and efficiency. You will hear how workforce housing, training, and community investment can support long term rural development. You will learn the key risks in launching a facility like this and how planning addresses capital, labor, and food safety.
For many clinicians, the traditional pathways of healthcare offer purpose and stability, but they can also feel restrictive, misaligned with evolving identities, or incompatible with a life that values adventure, education, and time outside conventional systems. Changing direction within or adjacent to healthcare is rarely a single leap; more often, it is a series of deliberate steps shaped by curiosity, burnout, growth, and a desire for sustainability. In this conversation, Laura Hall and Kelly Wright bring their lived experiences to bear on that reality. Laura is currently a pre- and post-op nurse in a small Colorado town, a wilderness medicine instructor, and a trail-running coach who has built a career around adaptability, education, and performance in demanding environments. Kelly is a flight nurse and endurance athlete whose professional journey reflects both the physical toll and the profound privilege of high-acuity care. Together, they are the voices behind High Adventure Healthcare, a platform dedicated to honest discussion, education, and redefining what a healthcare career can look like. This episode explores what it really means to change course, without abandoning hard-earned skills or identity. It is a grounded, practical discussion about fear, flexibility, reinvention, and how clinicians can build careers that support both longevity and life beyond the uniform. What makes a winning candidate for governor of California? Well, with the exceptions of movie stars Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger, every governor for more than 80 years has had experience in statewide office. Gavin Newsom was lieutenant governor. Pete Wilson was a U.S. Senator. Pat Brown and Jerry Brown were both attorney general. This year, the leading candidates are taking a different path. This episode is a deep exploration of purpose, initiation, and what it truly means to live in right relationship with ourselves, each other, and the natural world. I'm joined by Tim Corcoran, founder of Purpose Mountain and co-director of Twin Eagles Wilderness School, whose life's work is devoted to helping people reconnect with their soul-level calling through nature-based mentoring and rites of passage.Tim shares his personal journey from a conventional path in computer science to a life shaped by wilderness immersion, indigenous wisdom, and long-term mentorship. We explore the cultural gap created by the absence of meaningful rites of passage in modern society, and how that absence often leads people to unconsciously create their own initiations through suffering, addiction, or crisis. Tim offers a radically different framework—one rooted in intentional initiation, deep nature connection, and guided vision quests that help individuals discover who they are and why they're here.We also dive into the mechanics and philosophy behind vision quests, including fasting, solitude, mindset, and the importance of preparation and integration. Tim explains why these experiences are not about endurance or bravado, but about presence, humility, and listening—both to oneself and to the living intelligence of the Earth. We talk about mentorship as a reciprocal relationship, resilience as a cultivated capacity, and how true healing often emerges from being witnessed over time rather than chasing peak experiences. This conversation is a powerful reminder that purpose isn't something we invent—it's something we remember when we slow down, step outside, and allow life to speak back.Visit purposemountain.com to sign up for a Vision Quest or Discover Your Purpose mentoring.DISCLAIMER: This podcast is for educational purposes only and not intended for diagnosing or treating illnesses. Apple is investing in artificial intelligence by combining its own chip-powered servers with external computing resources, supporting its Private Cloud Compute service. The company spent $12.72 billion on capital expenditures in fiscal 2025, a 35 percent increase from the previous year, but significantly less than Alphabet, Microsoft, Meta, and Amazon. Apple projects further capex increases to $14.3 billion, while continuing to classify some AI-related spending as operating expenses, which rose 11 percent due to research and development. Apple Intelligence, its AI suite, integrates features such as notification summaries and image generation, with some capabilities delayed until 2026. Consumer demand for iPhone 17 remains strong, and Apple expects AI features to play a growing role in future hardware sales.Learn more on this news by visiting us at: https://greyjournal.net/news/ Hosted on Acast. With not even 60 days to the Democratic primary, the field is running out of time to catch up with Andrew Cuomo while the governor — as the mayoral candidate's team still refers to him —tries to run out the clock while keeping the public and the press at arm's length. Co-hosts Christina Greer and Harry Siegel discuss all that and much more, plus Harry talks with Dana Rachlin of We Build the Block and the Brownsville Safety Alliance about a very different approach to public safety — one that centers community instead of the criminal justice system and why she's she's still optimistic about that difficult, daily work.

In this episode, I am chatting with Ananda Lowe, owner of the Boston Doula Circle agency, about her journey of transitioning from a solo doula practice to an agency model. First we discuss the benefits of buying an established agency versus starting from scratch and then go into detail about the importance of organization and putting together the right team. It's crucial to focus, of course, on doula skills, but also recognize what other things they can bring into your agency. Building your admin team from within, most times, makes the most sense.Next we go into the challenges of rebranding and navigating the business purchase process. Ananda shares her experiences and insights on agency ownership, emphasizing the need for effective communication within the business and the value of working with a variety of professionals to get the results your looking for... the ones that align and represent your brand exactly the way you envision.A recurring theme in this conversation is the importance of building a close network of trusted people that understand and support the nuances of agency ownership. Throughout the episode we also touch on the financial health of our businesses and why you can never lose sight of knowing your worth as the owner. You can find Ananda here:BOOK: https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/103907/the-doula-guide-to-birth-by-ananda-lowe-and-rachel-zimmerman/AGENCY: https://www.bostondoulacircle.com/ SOCIAL: @bostondoulacircleYOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/@bostondoulacircle2028Join Birth Boss Society here:https://www.hiptoheart.com/birth-boss-society-landing-pageYou can find me at:www.hiptoheart.comhttps://www.instagram.com/hiptoheartJoin the Hip to Heart Birth Boss Academy here:https://www.hiptoheart.com/birth-boss-academyApply to the Hip to Heart AgencyProgram here:https://www.hiptoheart.com/agency-transition-classJoin my Facebook group for Birth + Postpartum Professionalshttps://www.facebook.com/groups/businessforbirth

DCM Systematic aims to produce returns that are uncorrelated to trend following CTAs by pursuing a different path to alpha. In fact, the team around Jerome is very much focused on avoiding getting into trend following trades. Instead, they emphasize strategies which anticipate the flows of other traders and use several behavior-based models to distinguish themselves from the SG CTA index and other industry benchmarks. Jerome and Moritz speak discuss generic trade examples and Jerome explains why pro-active and re-active risk management is very important for them.-----EXCEPTIONAL RESOURCE: Find Out How to Build a Safer & Better Performing Portfolio using this FREE NEW Portfolio Builder Tool-----Follow Niels on Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube or via the TTU website.IT's TRUE ? – most CIO's read 50+ books each year – get your FREE copy of the Ultimate Guide to the Best Investment Books ever written here. And you can get a free copy of my latest book “Ten Reasons to Add Trend Following to Your Portfolio” here.Learn more about the Trend Barometer here.Send your questions to info@toptradersunplugged.comAnd please share this episode with a like-minded friend and leave an honest Rating & Review on iTunes or Spotify so more people can discover the podcast.Follow Moritz on Linkedin.Follow Jerome on LinkedIn.Episode TimeStamps: 02:21 - Introduction to Jerome Callut03:52 - Why they use non-trend following models08:42 - What would happen if they added a trend following component to their model?09:57 - The 3 categories of their trading system11:11 - Category 1, Behavioural: Anticipating the flows and trades of other traders15:35 - An example of how they handle flow18:35 - Did Callut anticipate the unwind of the Japanese Yen carry trade?21:51 - Exploiting the skid marks in the markets23:53...

Wellness + Wisdom | Episode 650 How does every moment provide you with an option to either choose fear or to choose love? Adam Lane Smith + Andrey Korikov join Josh Trent on the Wellness + Wisdom Podcast, episode 650, to discuss why pain is the strongest motivational force, how guilt comes from fear, what happens when you don't know who you truly are, and why pity is detrimental to men. "We have to have pain, it's fundamental. We form this idea that pain is bad. It's scary and it hurts, but we believe that all pain is going to kill us and that's wrong. Pain can make you grow." - Adam Lane Smith
In this episode I meet with Kellice and answer the question “How do I decide on a career that I won't later regret or wish I had taken a different path?” Kellice wants to choose a sustainable career to support herself and her boys, but she isn't sure where to start. How can she be sure she isn't going to make the wrong decision?I challenge Kellice to consider that there may be more than one path for her to choose. Feeling like there is one best choice—and that you will suffer if you don't find it—is a common and paralyzing dynamic. But what if there isn't just one path? What if you get to choose what you want? The reality is that there are many careers Kellice could enjoy. And if she picks something and isn't happy, she doesn't have to be stuck. It's never too late to evolve and choose again.Have you ever thought, “I want to ask Dr. Julie Hanks a question”? Well, now's your chance! I want to have you on my podcast! Before Oct. 7, Israel appeared to many to be sliding into a “one-state reality,” where it had functional control over Gaza and the West Bank, but the Palestinians who lived there were denied full rights. In 2021, a group of hundreds of former senior defense and diplomatic officials in Israel published a report warning that this was a catastrophe — for Israel's security, its democratic values, its international standing, and its very soul. And they argued that there was another way, that even without a Palestinian “partner for peace,” there was a huge amount Israel could do on its own to create the conditions for a two-state solution to emerge in the future.Nimrod Novik is a fellow at the Israel Policy Forum and a member of the executive committee of Commanders for Israel's Security, the group behind the report. He was a senior policy adviser to Shimon Peres when he was prime minister, and was involved in all forms of negotiations with Palestinians and the Arab world.I wanted to talk to Novik about the plan proposed in the Commanders for Israel's Security report, and how they might have changed in light of Oct. 7 and the war. We also talk through what the “day after” might look like in Gaza, the immense anger of the Israeli public over the intelligence failure that led up to the attacks, the alternative coalitions building against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and much more.Mentioned:“Initiative 2025” by Commanders for Israel's SecurityBook Recommendations:The Back Channel by William J.
