Chargers Receiver Keenan Allen gave the secondary fits, finishing with a personal best 18 receptions for 215 yards. He also threw a 49-yard touchdown, and the Chargers racked up 454 total yards receiving. Welcome back to the Week 2 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report. The Vikings falter in their Thursday Night Football matchup in Philadelphia, 34-28.  Costly turnovers reared their ugly head for a second straight week and the Vikings couldn't overcome the -3 turnover differential once again. After a wild first half, the Eagles found success running the ball and controlling the time of possession at almost a two-to-one margin. D'Andre Swift ran for 175 yards on the ground and the Eagles outpaced the Vikings 259 to 28. The Vikings fought to get back into the game and hit T.J. Hockenson for a second touchdown with 1:10 left in the game, but it proved to be too little, too late. The Vikings 364-yard aerial attack kept them alive, but it was not enough to secure a victory. Cousins finished the game 31-of-44 passing and threw 4 touchdowns. Rookie Jordan Addison joined Percy Harvin and Sammy White as the only 2 receiving rookies to have consecutive touchdowns in their first two games as a Viking.  Justin Jefferson had another record-breaking night with 11 receptions for 159 yards receiving. He joins Lance Alworth as the fastest receivers to cross the 5,000-yard receiving mark, doing so in only 52 games. Defensively, the Vikings put pressure on Jalen Hurts, sacking him four times. OLB Danielle Hunter had a hat trick while Ivan Pace Jr. and Harrison Phillips shared the other. Safety Theo Jackson picked off Hurts in the 2nd Quarter for the lone Vikings interception of the night.  The Vikings now shift their attention to the L.A. Chargers at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sept. 24th. Paul Allen and Pete Bercich recap the missteps that led to the loss, the patterns that are starting to emerge, the shifting Offensive Line, and the adjustments needed during the 'mini-bye week.'  Plus, Head Coach Kevin O'Connell and Kirk Cousins both spoke to the media at the postgame press conference. All of this and more is in the 2023 Week 2 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome back to the Week 1 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report. The Vikings drop their home opener to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 20-17 at U.S. Bank Stadium. Costly turnovers and penalties seemingly made the difference, as the Vikings Offense was -3 in the take/give stat, with 2 of them occurring inside the Tampa Bay 30-yard line. Cousins went 33-of-44 passing, threw 2 touchdown passes and an interception. One of those touchdown passes was Rookie Jordan Addison's first in the NFL.  Alexander Mattison caught the other and had 44 combined yards in the game.  Justin Jefferson had another great statistical day with 9 receptions for 150 yards receiving. Defensively, OLB Danielle Hunter had the lone sack and Cam Bynum led the team with 10 combined tackles.   Offensively for the Bucs, Baker Mayfield was under pressure throughout the game, but threw 2 touchdowns when it counted most. He finished the game with 173 yards passing and 11 yards rushing. In the end, Tampa's Kicker Chase McLaughlin's 57-yard field goal was enough for the Bucs to leave Minneapolis with the opening day victory. Vikings Vox Paul Allen and Color Analyst Pete Bercich recap the missteps that led to the loss, look ahead to the 'opportunity' that Thursday brings in Phili, and review the Bucs rushing strategy that helped earn them the victory.  Plus, Head Coach Kevin O'Connell and Kirk Cousins both spoke to the media at the postgame press conference. All of this and more is in the 2023 Week 1 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome to the 2023 preseason finale of the Vikings Postgame Report from U.S. Bank Stadium. The Minnesota Vikings wrapped up their home preseason season schedule on Saturday afternoon at U.S. Bank Stadium against the Arizona Cardinals. The Vikings jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the First Quarter but finished their scoring at the end of the First Half on a 26-yard field goal by Greg Joseph. Their 17-3 Halftime lead dwindled and ultimately was nullified following an interception by Sean Chandler deep in Vikings territory. Cardinals Kicker Matt Prater gave their squad the lead 18-17 on a 27-yard field goal with 6:20 left in the game. Vikings Kicker Greg Joseph missed a 54-yard field goal wide right with 2:28 left in the game and the Vikings never recovered. Quarterback Jaren Hall lead the Vikings as the lone quarterback for the Vikings in the game. He finished the day 17-of-28 passing for 178 yards, tossed a 5-yard touchdown pass to Abram Smith, and had an interception. Vikings running back DeWayne McBride led the rushing attack on 8 carries for 37 yards and a 5-yard score after rookie Jay Ward forced a fumble off of a blitz. Besides Jay Ward's big play, he also led the team with 8 total tackles. The Vikings now switch their sites to the beginning of the regular season, as they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 1 at U.S. Bank Stadium on September 10th.  Vikings Vox Paul Allen and Color Analyst Pete Bercich put a bow on the preseason, including: some of the new play calls that stood out versus the Cardinals today, which guys they feel looked to make front office decisions difficult when deciding their 53-man roster this week, Jaren Hall's overall performance, and the playmakers within our running game that had a good day on Saturday.  Plus, Head Coach Kevin O'Connell spoke to the media at the postgame press conference. All of this and more is in the final Preseason edition of the 2023 Vikings Postgame Report.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Happy Tuesday Vikings fans! It's August 8th, 2023, and we're just 33 days away from the Vikings' week 1 season opener. Training camp is fully underway, and Head Coach Kevin O'Connell has taken a more physical and intense approach this year to prepare the team for a more aggressive style of play. This is partly due to the team's new defensive coordinator, Brian Flores, who has installed a far-more-aggressive approach than his predecessor, Ed Donatell. Joint practices with the Titans and Cardinals pose a risk due to the increased intensity when two teams match up against each other. Injuries have also been a concern, but the team is making progress. Tight end T.J. Hockenson is back in practice, and cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. is fully participating despite injury concerns. Other segments on today's Vikings Daily Opener include updates on the team's recent transactions and player performances, a discussion on the NFC North quarterbacks, and analysis on new edge rusher Marcus Davenport. Saivion Mixson provides an analysis of the NFC North quarterbacks, with Kirk Cousins being a consistent performer but not quite elite. Jordan Love and Justin Fields are still in the early stages of their development, and it remains to be seen who will take the crown as the best quarterback in the division. Tyler Forness gives his take on the team's recent transactions and player performances, including the signings of wide receivers N'Keal Harry and Jacob Copeland. While Harry has struggled in practice, Copeland has looked explosive and could make an impact on the team. Forness also discusses the Vikings' linebacker room and how it's shaping up nicely, with Troy Dye standing out with his consistent performance and making the play of the day with an interception off of either Kirk Cousins or Nick Mullens. Finally, Andrew Buller-Russ focuses on new edge rusher Marcus Davenport, who is expected to have a breakout season as a key part of the team's 3-4 defensive scheme. Despite only tallying half a sack last season, Davenport excels at creating pressure, with a high win rate and a pressure rate that has ranked in the top 20 every year since he was drafted in 2018. He also has remarkable athleticism, with a 4.58 speed and the ability to be effective from multiple stances. Don't miss out on the latest news and insights on your Minnesota Vikings! SKOL! Welcome to the Season Finale edition of the Vikings Postgame Report. The New York Giants defeated the Minnesota Vikings at U.S Bank Stadium on Sunday afternoon 31-24, bringing the Vikings season to a close. The Giants running game was the difference and both Saquon Barkley and Daniel Jones were the difference makers. Daniel threw for 301 yards and 2 passing touchdowns, but also added 78 rushing yards on 17 carries. Barkley only had 9 carries for 53 yards rushing, but hit pay dirt twice, including the game winning score halfway through the 4th Quarter. The Vikings bright spots on Sunday included another big game from Tight End T.J. Hockenson versus the Giants, who finished with 10 receptions for 129 receiving yards. Kirk Cousins finished the game 31 of 39 passing for 273 yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and a rushing score for 1 yard. The two passing touchdowns went to K.J. Osborn and Irv Smith Jr. Dalvin Cook led the rushing attack for the Vikings with 60 yards on 15 carries. It was an unfortunate end to a memorable season, but the team proved that they're poised for a bright future after the inaugural season with Head Coach Kevin O'Connell at the helm comes to a close. Paul Allen puts a bow on the season by breaking down what went right for the NY Giants on Sunday, the upcoming offseason, and the Vikings offensive standouts during the 2022 season. Plus, Head Coach Kevin O'Connell speaks to the media, Gabe Henderson and Ben Leber also go 'Between The Lines' presented by Gatorade, Quarterback Kirk Cousins shares his thoughts in his postgame press conference, and Ron Johnson gives his '3 Takes' to round out the show. All of this and more is in the final episode of the Vikings Postgame Report for the 2022-23 season.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome to the Week 17 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report. It was a rough start to 2023 for the Vikings, as they were overrun and unable to recover from early mistakes at Lambeau Field on Sunday afternoon. The first half saw a host of errors that gave Green Bay a comfortable lead, including: a pick six, a kick return touchdown, a Tonyan touchdown reception, and a doinked in 56-yard Mason Crosby field goal at the buzzer, leaving the Vikings in a 27 - 3 hole. The Vikings Offense moved the ball a bit better to start the second half, but a series of costly turnovers and subsequent conversions by Green Bay saw the game continue to get out of hand. A few bright spots included Jalen Nailor scoring his first career touchdown midway through the fourth-quarter, K.J. Osborn grabbing a late touchdown toss from Mullens, and Josh Metellus blocking his second punt in as many weeks. Paul Allen and Pete Bercich breakdown what happened today, including: the impact of the Offensive injuries during today's game, the inability to get Thielen or Jefferson going in a meaningful way, the losses current impact on our playoff position, and an overview of the key issues that need to be cleaned up as the squad looks to finish off the regular season in Chicago and head into the playoffs. All of this and more is in the Week 17 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome to the Week 16 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report. Tell me if you've heard this before? It was another back-and-forth game and the Vikings needed another last second score to secure the victory. This time, Greg Joseph stepped in to hit a Vikings record 61-yard field goal and the Vikings improved to 12-3. The Vikings Offense saw a host of memorable moments today, including: Justin Jefferson passing Randy Moss for the most yards by a Vikings receiver in a single season (1,623 so far this season), Dalvin Cook moved up to third all-time rushing in Vikings history, and T.J. Hockenson caught 13 receptions for 109 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kirk Cousins finished the day, completing 34-of-48 passes, for 299 yards, and 3 touchdowns. Justin Jefferson's record setting day finished with an individual stat line of 12 receptions, 133 yards and a TD. Defense and Special Teams also stepped up and did their part: Patrick Peterson had a key interception in the Fourth Quarter, Danielle Hunter had 2 sacks, D.J. Wonnum and Khyiris Tonga shared a QB sack, Brian Asamoah II snagged a fumble recovery, and Josh Metellus had a punt block that setup the Justin Jefferson Touchdown. Gabe Henderson and Ben Leber recap the Christmas Eve present from U.S. Bank Stadium, including: Kirk Cousins making plays in the face of pressure at another level, another single score finish becoming a trend not a mirage, T.J. Welcome back to the Vikings Postgame Report. The Dallas Cowboys beat the Minnesota Vikings 40-3 in a lopsided affair at U.S. Bank Field on Sunday afternoon. The Cowboys utilized their run game to control the clock and Dak Prescott was efficient, going 22 of 25 for 276 yards passing and 2 touchdowns. In total, the Cowboys out gained the Vikings in yardage 458 to 183. The Vikings will need to forget this game quickly, as they welcome in the New England Patriots this Thanksgiving night. Paul Allen and Pete Bercich try to dissect the ramifications of what happened in the game, including: how the Cowboys reacted to their loss in Green Bay, the need for the Vikings to flip their focus on to the Patriots Thursday night, the efficiency of the Cowboys' offense, and the key to having the locker room lean on their veterans to not let this loss compound moving forward. Plus, Head Coach Kevin O'Connell speaks to the media, Gabe Henderson and Ben Leber go 'Between The Lines' presented by Gatorade, Quarterback Kirk Cousins shares his thoughts in his postgame press conference, and Ron Johnson gives his '3 Takes' to round out the show. All of this and more is in the Week 11 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Unbelievable. You're tuned into the Vikings Postgame Report and we're trying to catch our breath. The Vikings battled the Bills in Buffalo in a spine tingler. The Purple were down by 17 points with 1 minute left in the 3rd Quarter and staged an unbelievable comeback. The Vikings won the game after Greg Joseph hit a 33-yard field goal in OT and Patrick Peterson sealed the game with an endzone interception late in overtime. Your Vikings move to an 8-1 record and face the Dallas Cowboys at U.S. Bank Stadium next Sunday. There were a ton of notable performances: Kirk Cousins saw his first +300-yard passing game of the season and finished the day going 30-of-50, with 357 yards passing, 1 TD, 2 INT, and 12 yards rushing. Justin Jefferson had a monster of a day finishing with 10 receptions for 193 yards and 1 touchdown, including an improbable one-handed grab that will be added to his long highlight reel. Dalvin Cook ripped off an 81-yard rushing touchdown, 119 total yards on the ground, and 146 all-purpose yards in a gutty performance. The Defense proved once again to be opportunistic, with 2 Interceptions by Patrick Peterson, Eric Kendricks recovering a crucial endzone fumble for a touchdown and sacks by both Danielle Hunter and Za'Darius Smith. It was a statement win and one to surely catapult us into the second half of the regular season. Paul Allen and Pete Bercich try to process everything that happened in today's game, including: the 'who's next?' mentality of this roster, Duke Shelley's crucial play late, the implications of this statement win, Dalvin Cook's performance late in the contest, and look ahead at the slate of games coming up in the next month. All of this and more is in the Week 10 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome back to another victorious edition of the Vikings Postgame Report. The Minnesota Vikings continued their trend of finishing close games by outscoring the Commanders 13-7 in the 4th quarter and winning the game 20-17. The Commanders Defense gave the Vikings fits, but the Vikings Offense methodically moved the ball in the 4th Quarter and the Vikings Defense capitalized on mistakes by Taylor Heinicke down the stretch. WR Justin Jefferson caught his first TD pass since Week 1 of the season on the opening drive and finished the game with 7 receptions for 155 yards, a receiving TD, and 10 rushing yards. Newly acquired Tight End T.J. Hockenson jumped into-the-mix catching all 9 targets for 70 receiving yards. Dalvin Cook had 57 all-purpose yards and the critical one-handed receiving TD in the 4th Quarter. Quarterback Kirk Cousins finished the game 22-of-40, 265 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, 1 INT and 2 sacks.  Defensively, the Line was making Heinicke uncomfortable all day, finishing the game with 3 sacks, 7 QB hits, and 7 pass defections. Danielle Hunter finished the game with a bunch of 'Terrible Two's': 2 sacks, 2 QB hits and 2 tackles for loss.  Other notable defensive stars, include: D.J. Wonnum with the 3rd sack of the game, Harrison Smith added in yet another Interception on the season, and Jordan Hicks finished the game with 10 combined tackles. Kicker Greg Joseph hit his two 4th-Quarter Field Goal attempts inside the Redzone and added in two Extra Points to remain perfect on the day. Paul Allen and Pete Bercich react to everything that happened in today's tight finish, including: why the Vikings resiliency has lead to them being 6-0 in one-score games, Cousins' performance in his return to Washington, and Hockenson's effect in this Offense. All of this and more is in the Week 9 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome back to the Vikings Postgame Report. Your Minnesota Vikings improve to 5-1, outlasting the Miami Dolphins, 24-16. The win was a good way to go into the upcoming Bye Week, giving this team more positive momentum leading into the rest of the season. The Dolphins outgained the Vikings in multiple categories, including: total yards, time of possession and first downs. That being said, the biggest differences in the game proved to be the turnover battle (Vikings +3) and the numerous Dolphins penalties (10-97 yds) throughout. The Dolphins Defense made it uncomfortable today, sacking Kirk Cousins three times and holding the Vikings Offense to only 234 total yards. Kirk went 20-30 passing for 175-yards and 2 passing touchdowns. Jefferson led the team in receiving yards (6 rec - 107 yards) and both Adam Thielen and Irv Smith Jr. hit pay dirt in the game. Dalvin Cook had a frustrating game until he was able to close out the game with his 53-yard scamper late in the 4th. Cook finished with 83 total yards and a rushing score. Paul Allen and Pete Bercich review everything they saw today from Hard Rock Stadium, including: the importance of the Vikings Special Teams play, Cam Bynum stepping up, the Defensive key to controlling both Miami QB's, and the keys to getting ready for Arizona coming out of the Bye Week. All of this and more is in the Week 6 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Vikings Tight End Irv Smith Jr. had the lone touchdown for the Vikings offense, as Cousins connected with him on a 2-yard pass in the 2nd quarter. In the end, the Vikings didn't finish drives or put enough points on the board to win. Paul Allen and Pete Bercich break down what went wrong and where they think the team needs to shore up their deficiencies before Detroit comes to town this Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. Also hear from Head Coach Kevin O'Connell and QB Kirk Cousins as they address the media in their postgame press conferences, Gabe Henderson and Ben Leber go Between The Lines fueled by Gatorade, and Ron Johnson gives his 3 Takes on tonight's loss. All of this and more is in the Week 2 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This week we warm up with Dan asking the team, what is your favourite sporting memory as either a player or a fan. Feel free to comment what your favourite sporting memory is. On this week's show in ‘The Huddle' we take a look at the Minnesota Vikings as they move in to the 2022 season with a new Head Coach, new GM and an improved defence after acquiring Za'Darius Smith from the Packers and using many of their draft picks on defence. The Vikings have the weapons on offence to be one of the top offences in the league, but it all depends on if Vikings QB1 Kirk Cousins can lead them to that position. In 2021, the Vikings missed the playoffs for the second straight season after going 8-9 but for the 2022 season the biggest question is how far can rookie Head Coach Kevin O'Connell take the Vikings in his first season at the Twin Cities? This week in “The Match” we have a look at two Wide Receivers on the move. After a busy offseason and many of the top WRs finding new homes, we take a look at Amari Cooper and his move from the Cowboys to the Browns. We also have a look at and compare Cooper's move to Juju Smith-Schuster's move from the Steelers to the Chiefs. Both players are going to a team who arguably has a better QB than their former QBs but often production doesn't replicate from team to team. We have a look at their 2021 seasons and who will have a bigger impact on their new teams in 2022. Who do you think will have more touchdowns in the 2022 season? To round the show in ‘Rapid Fire' we go around the NFL and review some of the best players in the league. This week we take a look at the Cornerback position. With many CBs on the move and many getting big money, which CB is the best in the league right now? ~ Dan, Lara, Alex & Riley
