RUWACH – a wind, breath, a violent exhalation, blast of breath. Genesis 1:2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. PNEUMA – a current of air, blast of breath, a strong breeze. John 6:63 The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. Wind is UNSEEN. John 14:17 The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. Wind is UNPREDICTABLE. John 3:8 Jesus answered…“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." Wind is POWERFUL. Acts 1:8 And you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. “But as I turned and was about to take a seat by the fire, I received a mighty baptism of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit descended upon me in a manner that seemed to go through me, body and soul. I could feel the impression like a wave of electricity, going through and through me. Indeed it seemed to come in waves and waves of liquid love; for I could not express it in any other way. It seemed like the very breath of God.” –Charles Finney Wind is REFRESHING. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom…And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his image. John 20:22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” Acts 1:4-5 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:12-16 Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?” Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.” Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It's only nine in the morning! No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: Acts 2:38-39 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” 1. Let go of your FEARS and MISCONCEPTIONS. James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 2. ASK GOD to give me ALL that HE HAS for me. Ezekiel 47:3-5 As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle- deep. He measured off another thousand cubits and led me through water that was knee-deep. He measured off another thousand and led me through water that was up to the waist. He measured off another thousand, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in—a river that no one could cross. Ezekiel 47:9 Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live. 3. Pursue an INTIMATE FRIENDSHIP with the Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 13:14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/coastalchurch/message

After graduating from the International House of Prayer University in 2018, Daniel sought the Lord on where and how he could labor to see Christ glorified. Daniel's heart is gripped with preparing the next generation for the Second Coming and to see hearts transformed from the place of night-and-day prayer.

The Space In Which He Calls Us To Follow | Week 3 | In this sermon, Darrell discusses how the disciples in the upper room were assured that after his death and resurrection Jesus would send another “of the same kind as him.” The Holy Spirit, called the Paraclete in Greek, is that person. He has come to universalize the presence of Jesus, dwelling in and alongside us to purify, cleanse and free us from all that displeases the Father. The Paraclete is described as Holy and true, and He guides us into an intimate friendship with Himself. Violet-eyed siren Elizabeth Taylor and classically handsome Montgomery Clift were the most gorgeous screen couple of their time. Over two decades of friendship they made, separately and together, some of the era's defining movies--including Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Misfits, Suddenly, Last Summer, and Cleopatra. Yet the relationship between these two figures--one a dazzling, larger-than-life star, the other hugely talented yet fatally troubled--has never truly been explored until now. When Elizabeth Taylor was cast opposite Montgomery Clift in A Place in the Sun, he was already a movie idol, with a natural sensitivity that set him apart. At seventeen, Elizabeth was known for her ravishing beauty rather than her talent. Directors treated her like a glamorous prop. But Monty took her seriously, inspiring and encouraging her. In her words, "That's when I began to act." To Monty, she was "Bessie Mae," a name he coined for her earthy, private side. The press clamored for a wedding, convinced this was more than friendship. The truth was even more complex. Monty was drawn to women but sexually attracted to men--a fact that, if made public, would destroy his career. But he found acceptance and kinship with Elizabeth. Her devotion was never clearer than after his devastating car crash near her Hollywood home when she crawled into the wreckage and saved him from choking. Monty's accident shattered his face and left him in constant pain. As he sank into alcoholism and addiction, Elizabeth used her power to keep him working. In turn, through scandals and multiple marriages, he was her constant. Their relationship endured until his death in 1966, right before he was to star with her in Reflections in a Golden Eye. His influence continued in her outspoken support for the gay community, especially during the AIDS crisis. Martin's interview with Charles Casillo was recorded on June 17, 2021.
Psalm 119:1-8 1 Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord. 2 Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart— 3 they do no wrong but follow his ways. 4 You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed. 5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees! 6 Then I would not be put to shame when I consider all your commands. 7 I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws. 8 I will obey your decrees; do not utterly forsake me.

Teaching about the Holy Spirit, the focus is often on the gifts — or the outer manifestations. But there is also an inner work of the Spirit that provides a solid foundation for the external works. When Ezekiel prophesied about the new covenant, it is clear that God wanted to become intimate with Man again and that this new fellowship would change our behavior.
We all need people who know our hearts and have our backs. In this episode, Donna and Randy Carter discuss the importance of intimate friendships. These are the people who help us succeed in reaching our goals, rescue us when we’re in over our heads, are real and vulnerable with us, and fight for us when we’re too weak to fight for ourselves. He will BAPTIZE you with the HOLY SPIRIT and with FIRE. ACTS 2:1-4 KJV And when the DAY OF PENTECOST was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it SAT UPON each of them. 4 And they were all FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT, and began to speak with other tongues, as the SPIRIT GAVE THEM UTTERANCE. Here we have another expression, “FILLED with the Holy Spirit,” used synonymously with “BAPTIZED with the Holy Spirit.” ACTS 10:44-46 NKJV While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit FELL upon all those who heard the word. 45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been POURED OUT on the Gentiles also. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Peter himself describing this experience in Jerusalem, told the story in this way… ACTS 11:15-17 NKJV And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit FELL UPON them, AS UPON US at the beginning. 16 Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, 'John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be BAPTIZED with the Holy Spirit.' 17 If therefore God gave them the SAME GIFT as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?" Here Peter distinctly called the experience which came to Cornelius and his household, being “BAPTIZED with the Holy Spirit.” Thus we see that these expressions are all synonymous. “…FILLED with the Holy Spirit…” (ACTS 2:4) “…the Holy Spirit FELL…” (ACTS 10:44) “…BAPTISM with the Holy Spirit…” (ACTS 11:16) “ …God gave them the SAME GIFT…” (ACTS 11:17) Other expressions are also used to describe this blessing, such as … “…RECEIVE the Holy Spirit…” (ACTS 2:38; 19:2-3), “…the Holy Spirit CAME UPON them…” (ACTS 19:2-6) “…the GIFT of the Holy Spirit…” (HEB 2:4; 1 COR 12:4, 11, 13) “I send THE PROMISE of my Father upon you…” (LUKE 24:49; ACTS 1:4) And “CLOTHED WITH POWER from on high…” (LUKE 24:49) BENEFITS OF “TONGUES” It is a distinct communication with God Insightful praying about God’s plan for life Builds up, sharpens and edifies the inner life Expands worship to God Stimulates faith Along with several more spiritual benefits. HOW TO ACTIVATE Genuinely desire all that the Holy Spirit is (no prejudice). Ask God for the baptism in the Holy Spirit and all His gifts. Take steps of faith to encounter Him (like you see in Scripture).
TODAY’S EPISODE NOTES: PRINCIPLE: As we grow in increased EXPECTATION FROM the relationship, we are pressed for increased DEFINITION WITHIN the relationship. PRINCIPLE: We aren’t prepared to COMMIT to a relationship if we aren’t prepared to CLARIFY the DTR question. REAL REASONS WE DON’T DEFINE THE RELATIONSHIP (DTR) Unsure of what we really want Fear of commitment Unacknowledged desire for secular things Fear of failure Fear of other’s opinions Fear it isn’t really real Emotional connections are too difficult Fear of weirdness 2 CORINTHIANS 13:14 NKJV The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the COMMUNION of the HOLY SPIRIT [be] with you all. HE’S A PERSON JOHN 14:16-20 NKJV [Jesus said] And I will pray the Father, and He will give you ANOTHER HELPER (Comforter, Counselor, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, and Standby) , that HE may ABIDE WITH YOU FOREVER-- 17 the SPIRIT OF TRUTH, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees HIM nor knows HIM; but you know HIM, for HE dwells WITH you and will be IN you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. 19 A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. We're excited to present week #5 of our eight week series on John 15, where we're seeking to discover what it looks like to abide in Jesus. If you missed any of the previous meditations, I've placed links to them at the end of this email. This week we're in John 15 12-15 (TPT) where Jesus so beautifully describes our relationship to him, from his point of view. Take comfort in knowing we are not servants, but friends. Speaker: Zoe Gavars Text: Jeremiah 29:13, Song of Solomon 1:2, Revelation 2:4, Psalm 25:14, John 14:15&23, 1 Peter 1:16, John 15:9-15 Description: An intimate friendship with God is not automatic upon becoming a believer, but a deep longing from God, an invitation from Him to all of us to enter into. Friendship with him is conditional and progressive as we take the appropriate steps. We need to desire this relationship above everything else, it must have first priority in our lives, as out of everything in this world it will be the most opposed, and we will have to fight for it.
It was through the lens of intimate friendship with Jesus Christ that the many foundations of St. Teresa of Jesus (of Avila) were begun. In her book, “The Way of Perfection,” she wrote: “All my longing was and still is that since He {Jesus} has so many enemies and so few friends that these few friends be good ones. As a result, I resolved to do the little that was in my power; that is, to follow the evangelical counsels as perfectly as I could and strive that these few persons who live here do the same.” Her life was a witness and testimony to this intimate friendship with Jesus. We must be diligent in seeking the Lord and answering “His Call.” St. Teresa counsels us on how to develop this relationship: “Represent the Lord Himself as close to you and behold how lovingly and humbly He is teaching you. Believe me, you should remain with so good a friend as long as you can. If you grow accustomed to having Him present at your side, and He sees that you do so with love and that you go about striving to please Him, He will never fail you. He will help you in all your trials; you will find Him everywhere.” (“The Way of Perfection 23.2; 26.1). It is through a frequent, intimate conversation in prayer and in the sacraments, that we can more easily grown in our union with Jesus. In this program, Mark and Frances discuss the importance of developing this friendship with Christ through the life and counsel of our Mystic and Doctor of the Church, St. Teresa of Jesus (of Avila).
