Vorig jaar was er veel te doen rond William Kassouf, die tijdens een diepe run in het Main Event (33e, voor $300.000) de organisatie de nodige kopzorgen opleverde.Veel praten, lang tanken, tijdrekken, irriteren, discussiëren met de organisatie, het kwam allemaal voorbij en uiteindelijk werd Kassouf na zijn uitschakeling afgevoerd en was hij de rest van de WSOP niet meer welkom. Dit jaar mag hij weer gewoon aanschuiven, maar de WSOP heeft nu dus enkele nieuwe regels om spelers die tijdrekken aan te pakken.Het grote incident in de Millionaire Maker leverde ook nieuwe regels op. Bij het WSOP Millionaire Maker-toernooi ontstond ophef toen Jesse Yaginuma won van James Carroll, terwijl er een extra $1 miljoen bonus van ClubWPT Gold op het spel stond. Door die bonus ontstonden verdenkingen van chip dumping (opzettelijk verliezen).De WSOP greep in: er werd geen winnaar aangewezen en het prijzengeld werd verdeeld. Toch betaalde ClubWPT de bonus van $1 miljoen alsnog uit, wat het incident extra controversieel maakte. De WSOP heeft nu maatregelen genomen om dit soort praktijken strenger aan te pakken.En PokerStars bestaat dit jaar 25 jaar, wat de podcasters ook nog even bespreken in deze editie van de PokerCity Podcast. It was actually in that tournament that PokerNews spotted Jesse Yaginuma and James Carroll, the two friends who caused quite the controversy over the summer in the WSOP Millionaire Maker, seated next to each other. Strange coincidence, that.  From there, Chad offers highlights from his Wisconsin hangout with Phil Hellmuth, who then went ot New Hampshire for a "Beat the Champ" weekend that saw Brandon Cantu emerge victorious.
