In recent times, Caryn—who lives in Texas and also spends a lot of time in Colorado—became the first person (as far as we can find) to qualify for and run the Boston Marathon after a knee replacement surgery, thanks to a procedure done by Dr Richard Berger. And, Caryn's story is about that, but also so much more. Caryn has faced significant traumas in life, among them experiences with disordered eating, and she has been impacted by suicide.In her story, she talks about this, and also how the challenges and struggles she's faced have resulted in fueling her purpose in life. So, for instance, Caryn's had a long career as a dietician specializing in helping people to overcome disordered eating. She's been a leader in this field, beginning at a time when so little was known on the topic and treatment was rare to nonexistent. Caryn founded and ran an eating dis outpatient clinic for over 20 years; it grew to become the largest of its kind in Texas and one of the largest in the nation. Her career has spanned over 30 years. Langsam nähert sich die Zahl der von Influenza betroffenen Menschen der 10% Marke. Immunologen raten dringend zur Impfung, zumal wieder einmal eine neue Variante der Erreger im Umlauf ist.Besonders Alte und von Immunschwäche betroffene Menschen sollten etwas tun. Ich zögere. Ich hatte nur einmal im Leben eine richtige Grippe, die sich vom Männerschnupfen deutlich unterscheidet, meine Herren. Da ist nix mit x es aus. Diese eine und einzige Impfung hatte ich in Corona-Zeiten und es war die Voraussetzung, dass ich meine Krebs-Erkrankung behandeln lassen durfte. Sie ahnen es schon: Die Impfung löste zu allem Überfluss eine Influenza aus, die sich gewaschen hatte.Erst mal müssen die Trigger raus aus dem Leben. Stress ist einer davon. Also: sich nicht stressen lassen, soweit es geht. Ich baue weiter auf Hausmittelchen. 4 Tipps, wie sie versuchen können, die Influenza zu verhindern.1. Mikronährstoffe. Vitamin C und D, Zink, Selen und sekundäre Pflanzenstoffe wie Sulfide. Kommt viel in Knoblauch und Zwiebel vor. Lecker. Zu viel davon macht aber einsam. 2. Entspannung und Bewegung. Das war während der jüngsten Fastenwanderwoche mit Yoga natürlich optimal. Aber auch in den Alltag kann man Entspannung und Bewegung einbauen.3. Anti-entzündliche und antivirale Lebensmittel. Ingwer, Knoblauch, Zitronen, Hühnersuppe, Honig, Beeren und grüner Tee seien hier genannt.4. Warme Fußbäder fördern die Durchblutung, lindern Schmerzen, aktivieren die Körperabwehr, entspannen und beruhigen. Das ist schon ein gutes Programm. [Evangelium: Matthäus, Kapitel 3, Verse 1 bis 12] In jenen Tagen trat Johannes der Täufer auf und verkündete in der Wüste von Judäa: Kehrt um! Denn das Himmelreich ist nahe. Er war es, von dem der Prophet Jesája gesagt hat: Stimme eines Rufers in der Wüste: Bereitet den Weg des Herrn! Macht gerade seine Straßen! Johannes trug ein Gewand aus Kamelhaaren und einen ledernen Gürtel um seine Hüften; Heuschrecken und wilder Honig waren seine Nahrung.5Die Leute von Jerusalem und ganz Judäa und aus der ganzen Jordangegend zogen zu ihm hinaus; sie bekannten ihre Sünden und ließen sich im Jordan von ihm taufen. Schon hält er die Schaufel in der Hand; und er wird seine Tenne reinigen und den Weizen in seine Scheune sammeln; die Spreu aber wird er in nie erlöschendem Feuer verbrennen. Throughout the early 1970s, California's Bay Area was in the grip of terror as multiple serial killers operated at the time same time and in more or less the same space. In time, some of these killers, like Ed Kemper, would be caught, while others, like the Zodiac Killer, would remain unidentified. Yet it was the ones who appeared to kill at random, without any preferred victim, that would prove the most terrifying and most difficult to catch. Herbert Mullin was one such killer, and while he may have been active for a very short period, he managed to do a tremendous amount of damage in such a little amount of time.Over a five-month period in late 1972 and early 1973, Herbert Mullin killed thirteen people, including a college girl, a Catholic priest, and a former high school friend and that friend's neighbors. To investigators, Mullin's victims appeared to be—and indeed largely were—chosen at random and the weapons used were chosen more out of convenience than pathology. Herbert Mullin was one such killer, and while he may have been active for a very short period, he managed to do a tremendous amount of damage in such a little amount of time.Over a five-month period in late 1972 and early 1973, Herbert Mullin killed thirteen people, including a college girl, a Catholic priest, and a former high school friend and that friend's neighbors. To investigators, Mullin's victims appeared to be—and indeed largely were—chosen at random and the weapons used were chosen more out of convenience than pathology.
