Brion looks at week 6 opponent Purdue and the games played from 1910 until the Nile Kinnick days. There are almost 100 games played between the two teams, and Iowa is 40-50-3 all-time. Update: I did forgot to mention 3 early games in the history, each with Daily Iowan article links but no game summaries: 1911: 11-0 win at home 1915: 19-13 loss on the road 1916, a 24-6 win at home under coach Howard Jones The Hawks lost 20 straight games from 1961 to 1980, and Iowa won 9 straight from 1983-1991. I'll highlight the other games in a future podcast. Player profile this week are Kevin Kasper and Aaron Kampman. Both players played under both Hayden Fry and Kirk Ferentz, and both played multiple years in the NFL. People have many different ideas of "mission work," so we must define missions according to the Bible. Listen in as Andy Kampman, a passionate missions leader with Launch Global, shares a biblical definition of missions, why disciple-making and church-planting must always be primary work, how the church should also fulfill "Matthew 25 ministries" such as social justice work, and how goers should respond to anti-Christian governments. Andy is an experienced mobilizer, so be careful, you might feel called to mission work by the end of the episode!

Hey friends, today is part three of the four-part series of reaching Unreached People Groups. Andy is a pastor at my home church, The Austin Stone, and leader of Launch Global. To know Andy and his family is to know his heart and passion for the Gospel to spread to the Nations. Launch Global's mission is to mobilize churches to develop laborers and leaders who multiply healthy churches among unreached people groups. On today's episode Andy shares more about how to get connected to Launch Global and how we can be intentional in reaching the nations within our very own communities. Ank volgen? You are getting very sleepy… Well, wake up! It's time to talk Hypnosis on H51. From county fairs to courtrooms, the practice of Hypnosis has led men to laughs and to the electric chair. All through focused attention, reduced peripheral awareness, and an enhanced capacity to respond to suggestion. People seek out hypnotists to stop smoking, remember a past life, or forget a tragedy. But, is it safe? Is it regulated? Why do so many law enforcement agencies lean on it? And, why does CBot keep trying it out on David? We tackle those questions and more on the podcast that has never been hypnotized, we think, but we do cluck like a chicken when we hear a bell – Hysteria 51.

In this episode Kendall, rachel, and Sarah talk about: * How technical communication often draws people toward product management * Using cognitive science to improve product research * People watching as a data mining exercise * Using inspiration rather than direction, rather than having to tell people what to do * Kendall's ongoing naysaying :) * The various benefits of having engineering-, marketing-, or product-driven organizations * The subversive nature of being a control freak * Cocktail party chatter and how to leverage it if you're an introvert * Where authority really comes from * Cultivating obliviousness to avoid having to assert authority * The imbalance in social and cultural expectations when a woman is in a leadership role Find Sarah on LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/in/sarah-kampman-0195451/ Special thanks to Mel Stanley for our theme music
Abbie Kampman is no stranger to tragedy. After growing up the daughter of an alcohol- and drug-addicted mother, in the summer of 1999 as a soon-to-be-freshman in high school, Abbie's mother and her boyfriend drove drunk, causing a tragic car accident which took their lives, as well as the lives of her two young sisters who were in the car and a man whose car they hit. After years of grief and shame over her mother's actions, Abbie shares with Christine her powerful story of redemption and overcoming, including having God's strength to do the impossible - reach out to the victims of her mother's accident after 17 years. Plus, overcoming the need to impress in The Pulse and What's Making Our Hearts Beat!
My guest for The Happy Hour #168 is Abbie Kampman. Abbie is a Midwestern "city" girl and mother of four boys just outside Des Moines, Iowa. She's a bookworm, a coffee snob, a mountain-lover, and a passionate pursuer of deep relationships built over shared stories. Abbie joins me today to share her story of losing her mom and stepsisters in a tragic drunk driving accident. The accident happened when she was 13 years old, and she is finally feeling freedom to share her story. I am over-the-moon proud of her for having the courage to share. It may not be anything like your story, but I am confident you will love hearing how the Lord has used and redeemed her story, and may just see a little bit of yourself in her as well. I will warn you that today's interview may not be appropriate for the the children in your life. Abbie shares some details about the accident that you may want to wait to listen to without any little ears. {You can listen to the showHERE.
