Seconda parte dell'intervista a Sebastiano Zanolli! Con Sebastiano tocchiamo tantissimi temi davvero interessanti: siamo partiti parlando di motivazione intrinseca, ovvero quella motivazione che viene da dentro, quella che conta davvero per permetterci di cambiare le nostre abitudini e “riprogrammare” il nostro io allineandolo alla persona che vorremmo essere Sebastiano poi condivide una riflessione molto interessante sul lavoro, cosa che non è connaturata all'uomo ma che, volenti o nolenti, dobbiamo trovare il modo di integrare in modo sostenibile nelle nostre vite e ci invita a fare un'analisi introspettiva e capire se il lavoro per noi è un fine o se è un mezzo per raggiungere un fine… e in ambo i casi dobbiamo chiarirci qual è il fine Abbiamo poi sentito come la capacità di dare significato alle cose che ci capitano e quelle che facciamo sia la chiave per essere felici, sereni e, in ultima istanza, motivati a fare quello che dobbiamo fare per superare le difficoltà che la vita ci pone davanti Abbiamo poi parlato dei miei 2 approcci alla motivazione gamification, ovvero creare dei giochini psicologici per farmi superare l'inerzia ad iniziare un'attività che non ho voglia di fare la ridefinizione della motivazione non come driver per fare quello che non vogliamo fare quanto piuttosto sia l'alibi per non fare le cose che sappiamo di dover fare ma non abbiamo voglia di fare e Sebastiano ha aggiunto il suo immaginarci come la vita sarebbe se non facessimo quello che dobbiamo fare e ha citato altri strumenti fisiologici: movimento, docce fredde, alimentazione… e abbiamo chiuso parlando di come un manager dovrebbe vivere la motivazione dei propri collaboratori, sopratutto capendo che non sono i manager a dover motivare le persone, ma il loro ruolo è quello di creare un contesto in cui le persone si motivano da sole, allineando gli obiettivi aziendali a quelli del singolo, creando connessione, meglio se emotiva e non solo monetaria, tra il lavoro che uno deve fare e il raggiungimento di certi obiettivi o risultati e molto altro! Prima parte dell'intervista a Sebastiano Zanolli! Con Sebastiano tocchiamo tantissimi temi davvero interessanti: è interessante la riflessione da cui parte Sebastiano… ha provato diverse volte a entrare in Diesel, VOLEVA entrarci a tutti i costi, ma non è andata subito in maniera lineare mi è molto piaciuto l'angolo di Sebastiano sul perché Diesel lo interessava… non ha parlato di stipendio, non ha parlato di benefit o di work life balance… ha parlato di CULTURA, una cultura che sentiva sua, che lo rappresentava e di cui voleva far parte. spesso sento giovani scegliere aziende sulla base di criteri molto superficiali, ma le cose che veramente ci rendono felici sono a livello culturale, non nella busta paga avete sentito anche la “formula” del prodotto che ha portato diesel: prodotto eccezionale, innovazione nei processi e una comunicazione irriverente, di grande distacco rispetto ai competitors e alle convenzioni dell'epoca. Bellissima anche la riflessione di Sebastiano sul ruolo che TUTTO IL TEAM ha avuto in questo incredibile successo: le aziende sono fatte di persone ed è sempre sbagliato attribuire tutti i successi a una persona sola. Sebastiano stesso, pur riconoscendo i meriti indiscutibili di Renzo Rosso, ha sottolineato come siano stati la squadra, la fiducia e l'affiatamento gli ingredienti che hanno portato Diesel a competere con un gigante come Levi's interessante poi la “virata” di Sebastiano da marketing e management ad aspetti più di “people” e di motivazione. Alla fine un manger di successo queste cose le deve DOMINARE, se non riesci a entrare in sintonia con le tue persone e capire cosa fare per motivarle… non riesci a vincere. una delle perle che ci ha regalato Sebastiano è “se prometti 100 cose e fai 100 cose poi le cose belle arrivano”. Gestire l'aspettativa è uno dei segreti di carriera che io ho capito abbastanza tardi nella mia carriera ma che, una volta capito, mi ha servito in modo infallibile. Ricordatevi sempre di spendere tempo per capire cosa l'azienda si aspetta da voi e cercate di deliverare quelle cose… e magari anche qualche altra (NON a scapito o in sostituzione di quelle che l'azienda si aspetta, ma on top). e molto altro! It was a career-defining (and perhaps life changing) moment when Dr. Vittorio Sebastiano- a reproductive biologist by training- realized that because we are able to create life, that same body of information could be harnessed to create youth-that is, radically reverse our biological aging process to a younger time point without losing cellular identity.  He and his lab embarked on unpacking his epiphany back in 2014. They made the radical choice to conduct their investigations in human cells and tissue rather than in rodents, with the expectation that such a start could better bridge to human clinical trials. Flash forward a decade and Dr. Sebastiano and team stand poised to begin trials in humans. Dr. Sebastiano is, in my opinion, one of the most extraordinary scientists in the longevity space today who flies under the radar of most of us in functional medicine.  In this podcast- which is actually two-in-one because I continued the conversation with him at a second date- you'll hear about the remarkable work they're undertaking at his lab. For example: They've created a biological clock that encompasses the whole genome (millions and millions of CpG sites). They are able to clearly demonstrate that reversal of bio age using their methodology- a cocktail of Yamanaka factors plus, with clear time limits- changes the epigenome first, and in so doing influences all of the hallmarks of aging. Intercettando il suo telefono venne scoperto un collegamento con un uomo, anch'esso pregiudicato, che aveva partecipato ai lavori nella casa degli Onofri: Mario Alessi. Vadim Gladyshev is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Director of the Center for Redox Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Associate Member of the Broad Institute. Mahdi Moqri is an NIH Postdoctoral Fellow in Aging Research at the Sebastiano Lab at the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine at Stanford, and a visiting scholar at the Gladyshev Lab at Harvard Medical School.
