Randall Carlson teaches us that all successful societies throughout human history have one thing in common. At their core each one employed healthy, well balanced agricultural practices that, to the best of their ability, aligned with the natural cycles of Life as they understood them to be. Today's Guest Jenni Harris Teaches Us That -- Although Regenerative Agriculture has its critics, her family farm has done it all, tried all, and has experienced the outcome of all known forms of agricultural practices over the past 150 years. There is absolutely no doubt that the industrial agriculture model leads to a dead end for the land, for the eco system, for the animals and for humanity. Conversely, White Oak Pastures has resolutely employed Regenerative Agriculture practices for the past 30 years with verifiable results that systematically leave the land, the eco system, the animals and humanity itself in better condition, year after year, for each year they employ the principals. We hope you enjoy this very interesting and VERY imporant conversation between Randall Carslson and Jenni Harris of White Oak Pastures, Regenerative Agricultural Expert.
What does it take to grow in love and sex within your partnership? No one has talked to us about what it actually takes to have a partnership that really lights us up and keep us excited and inspired....and yet, that's what so many of us long for. A simple scaffolding to help hold us as we journey back towards our partner. The easiest steps to take to re-invest in our love. John concluded our Presence of God series by speaking to us about the connection between God's presence, God's Spirit and how essential they are to the Christian life.
On Sunday Andy G spoke from the book of James 2:14- 26, for week four of our series, "Whole and Holy: A Study in James". What happens when one person lives out their faith? When a person lines up their actions with their faith, they become more whole as a person, and more holy as a temple of God. How does that affect their community? This integral faith affects the wholeness and holiness of our community. Journey with us in a season of preparation and anticipation: to make sure our own “house” [as in body] and our own “house” [as in “church community”] is in order. Over the next few months, we are going to take a good look in the mirror and let the Good News shape our every day lives. To visit our Teaching Notes: https://stclair.substack.com/
Many anthologies of nature poetry and Black poetry have excluded Black nature poetry. But Black people have always written poetry about nature. We write about the land that supports us and challenges us. We write about the animals we care for and the disasters that destroy our homes. We write about the rivers we cross and the soil we till. Black nature poems reflect the enormous range of experiences that we have in our physical environments. As they show us, nature can haunt, and nature can heal. In today's episode, Katie and Yves discuss the work of a few writers who train their words on the natural world. Waterfowl geneticist, Dr. Phil Lavretsky, Ramsey and others hunting the Australia Outback for magpie geese, whistling ducks and other endemic duck species. What makes magpie geese so unique, how are they living fossils between chicken-like birds and duck-goose-swan-type waterfowl as we know them today, and what, if any, is their relationship to reptiles and dinosaurs? Describing the importance of sampling representative species worldwide to both institutional and applied sciences, Lavretsky also recalls what lead them to Australia, memorable people and week events, hunting values in Australia and elsewhere. Informative and entertaining discussion about living fossils of the bird world and more! ***** Recorded during a recent hunter-scientist-conservation effort in Australia. Hello Earthlings! In today's episode, our host Lisa Ann Pinkerton (CEO of Technica Communications), is joined by Lindsay Baker (CEO and Chief Strategist of the International Living Future Institute) to explore a future where living buildings give more to the environment and society then they take. To hear Lindsay say it, designing buildings that use materials that won't make us sick, reuse their water, generate their own energy and create economic and community benefits is not a far-fetched idea. Lisa and Lindsay discuss the Living Building Challenge work of the International Living Future Institute, as well as examples of buildings already in existence like the Kendeda building in Atlanta. Digressions include the tiny home movement, composting toilets, and the healing power of plants. In Restoring Our Faith in Humanity this week are Sebastião and Lélia Salgado, a Brazilian couple who spent over 20 years restoring their section of Atlantic Rainforest from a barren land to a thriving forest full of wildlife. This is the third episode in our built environment series, to hear the other episodes in this series please see the links below:S2E5 - Electrification: the Smart Home Upgrade S3E4 - The Big Idea Behind Tiny Homes Key Topics: What Living Buildings are and how they are usedExamples like the Kendeda building in Atlanta, and the Bullitt Center in Seattle The Red List - a program that screens building materials for a set of chemicals that are known to be harmful for human health, especially carcinogenic materialsHow the living building challenge fits in with the other types of certifications, such as the LEED, the Green Building certification and Zero-Carbon certification.Building codes and Living Buildings Voices on The Show: Lindsay Baker, CEO and Chief Strategist of the International Living Future Institute X: Lindsay BakerLinkedIn: Lindsay BakerInstagram - Living Future InstituteLisa Ann Pinkerton, Earthlings 2.0 Host, CEO of Technica Communications, and Founder of Women in Cleantech and Sustainability LinkedIn: Lisa Ann...

Steve: “It was Sunday 17th July 1994 when I saw the strange wildman creature. I am a DJ and ex radio host and I consider myself a very confident person. This event is one I struggle to explain. I was hosting a disco that night at the Hibaldstow club and everything went as normal and it was after packing up and leaving that things went strange. I drove on to the B1207 road when I saw something move out of the corner of my eye. It was a figure stooped in the road examining something in the road way. Then I saw it walk out onto the road. It then crossed the road and went off into the field. It was going left to right across the road. My first thought was that there must have been somebody injured in an accident laying out on the road and that's why this figure was stooped looking over the road. And then I saw it was covered in hair, matted bedraggled hair. I would describe it's build as almost like a bodybuilder. And I am almost certain it was holding something in its right hand. The red light at the back of my car then shone on the fur on the left hand side of its face. It seemed to be looking back at me as I moved past it and caught it in the red glow of my lights. That was it for me, I put my foot down and drove home.DEBORAH'S EMAIL - debbiehatswell@gmail.comFACEBOOK - Deborah Hatswell BBR - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063604569253BBR Website - Deborah Hatswell - Being Believed Research & Investigations - https://wordpress.com/view/debhatswell.wordpress.comTWITTER - @BbrDeborah - https://twitter.com/BbrDeborahPATREON - Deborah Hatswell BBR Being Believed Research & Investigation - https://www.patreon.com/DeborahHatswellBigfootReportsYOUTUBE - Deborah Hatswell - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYGn8pR90PO_oBzOjiZ23tA/SPREAKER - Deborah Hatswell. Alex Sabio is a respiratory care practitioner turned real estate investor who not only lives and breathes real estate but he does so while still having his profession as respiratory therapist. Alex has grown his portfolio while hiring the best resources to help him and selecting the right kind of properties to maximize thousands of dollars in net cash flow per month to optimize for freedom and essentially spend quality time with his family. Alex currently has 5 short term rentals + 2 under contract and is able to implement systems and does it out of state. Alex talks about trying to syndicate apartments and then his CPA (Amanda Hahn) tapped him on his shoulder to look into STR to material participation hours to claim as real estate professional. Asking the simple question on where to invest next, led him to discover the Smokey Mountains in July 2020. From this deal, he was able to learn a business and then was able to teach it to his very niched community. He today has found tremendous fulfillment helping other healthcare professionals also achieve financial freedom. Alex quickly became the source of inspiration and practitioner to model within his healthcare network. It's one thing to have success in your own experiments but it's another to help others achieve their own. Alex is living and breathing example of that as the respiratory therapist that doesn't need to help others as healthcare practitioner to make a living but he simply does because he chooses to, the same way he's chosen to live and breathe short term rentals and help others do the same. “Very early in the morning on the first day of the week, before anyone had done a stroke of work or acquired a jot of merit, he rose from the sepulchre, bringing new life to his disciples. What then began had nothing to do with last week's work or last week's sins; they all seemed centuries away. The old world for Christ's disciples had ended in calamity, had gone down into a gulf of darkness; the earth had crumbled under their feet, they had nothing to stand upon. But here was something as new as the creation of the world where no world was; new life straight from the hands of the only living God.”—Austin Farrer 1 John 3:19-24

In this episode Doug shares his journey from tough childhood to extraordinary middle school teacher at Kamehameha Schools, Kapālama Campus on the island of Oahu in Hawaiʻi. Doug is an “all in” educator – his students go on quests, dig deep into essential questions and participate in epic exhibitions of knowledge. His teacher website is a garden of delights, an Alice in Wonderland of exclamation points and references to projects, challenges and problems his students tackle on a daily basis. Doug is also well versed in current literature authored by the world's leading education lights. Born Douglas AhKop Hiu IV, he is of Hawaiian, Chinese, and Caucasian decent and the second oldest of three siblings. Doug grew up in Maunawili Valley on the wet and windy, Windward Side of Oahu; from 5th to 8th grade he attended six different public schools before landing at Kahuku Intermediate and High Schools, where he wrestled, played football and graduated in 2001. He earned his BA in sociology, and a masters in education from the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa. Doug has four children with his wife, Tamzen. In addition to teaching, he coaches wrestling and practices in various combat sports.
